If anyone actually walked into her dorm room, they would be shocked at the mess. And it was all Skye's doing. Alix had run off, and it looked like there might be someone new in the room, but Skye honestly didn't give a shit at the moment. Paper and books everywhere, clothing scattered, broken glass underfoot. Her bag sat open on her bed, piles of clothing and shoes laying half in it. A small bottle sat half full on her nightstand, the amber fluid within it definitely not something that she should have had, but she did. And it was clear in her glassy eyes that the bottle had been full when she had arrived in her room. It barely dulled the pain that she felt, the pain that would never leave.

A cigarette went back and forth from her full lips to her fingers as she exhaled the smoke. She didn't care anymore. They could take their rules ans shove them up their sanctimonious asses. They didn't help her, they didn't care. Couldn't they see that she was hurting? Couldn't they see that she needed help? Now it was too late.

Skye walked back to the nightstand, picking up the bottle. Taking a good swallow, feeling the burn down her throat. The dancer moved back to the bed, taking another drag from the cigarette as she picked up a few articles of clothing, folding them haphazardly before setting them in her bag.

JP, Pyro, Swann, & Blade Girl.

"What the hell Skye?" it was Pyro's voice, understandably full of incredulousness for, everyone knew both cigarettes and alcohol were not allowed on campus. "What are you doing? What happened?" he asked, having felt her pain via the link they shared with Mana. "Mana felt something, and let me know. She's on her way from the Danger Room. I got to the ballroom in time to see you rush out. Speak to me," he insisted, eyes moving over the obvious signs that she was packing...

Intending to leave without actually saying goodbye or, any sort of explanation;; so it seemed.

She turned and looked at the boy in her doorway. "Hell? I'm in hell." There was a snort from the dancer. "What am I doing? What does it look like I'm doing John...it’s called packing. It’s what you do when you leave somewhere," Skye turned and tossed a pair of shoes into her bag. "And why should I speak to you now? You didn't care before, the only person that gives a shit in the mindless lines of sheep and lemmings is Cal. You never cared," her words were slurred just slightly, and it might be clear to someone that knew her well that the words that she spoke were spurred forth by the alcohol.

“Oh please!” this time it was the voice of her older sister, standing in the doorway, eyes flashing a dark purple as the emotions of that statement hit her. “Whenever we asked you, you just pushed us away. You didn’t even notice John trying to see if you were okay during the meeting the other day. And your outburst at Scott… think about it, no one wants to have anything to do with you because your attitude sucks Skye!”

Looking between them both, John raised his eyebrows at Mana, shocked to hear her speak so forthrightly to their little sister like that. “Okay,” he said, stepping forward to put himself between the sisters, knowing the younger one a little too well than to think there would be no retaliation to what Blade Girl had just so obviously pointed out. “We can’t help you if you won’t let us,” he simply said. In truth, he totally agreed with his older sister, Skye’s primadonna attitude grated on his nerves;; stopped him from even wanting to be around her.

Skye looked at her older sister. "No! I'm NOT ok. I'm SO NOT OK RIGHT NOW!" she yelled at them. "Please... John actually caring about anything I do? He's more concerned about his freak of the week girlfriend and her taking off then about me. Did either of you even notice that I was gone for 3 days? Nope. That was the last time I will have ever gotten to see Kevin...you wanna know why? He's dead... DEAD!" she yelled again, grabbing the bottle and chugging another good several mouthfuls. "That's right...I failed! Failed! Aren't you glad to hear that? I'm not so goddamned perfect after all. You all can kick me off my princess pedestal now..." she looked at them, tears swimming in her red swollen eyes. "I have to go… I don't belong her anymore... I never did."

“My freak of the week…” Pyro paused, eyes flashing with anger. Damn his little sister for even daring to go there! “Attack me, say all you want to about me, but back the hell off from Alix,” he simply said, a stone coldness to his tone;; a protectiveness no one but Mana really understood. Skye would have, had she come down off her high horse long enough to actually look.

Although the revelation about Kevin did hit both of them hard, neither Mana nor John could look past the way she was acting. Perhaps they could have put what she was doing, and how she was treating them down to the fact, yes, her best friend had passed away;; yes, she would feel like she’d failed, but no, they couldn’t do that, because, the fact of the matter was, Skye was a witch with a b no matter the situation. “No, you don’t,” was all Mana said, eyes flashing a dark purple as she simply agreed that Skye most certainly did not belong at Xavier’s, turned her back, and walked out of the room. “Don’t come back, either,” she added over her shoulder, sick to death of having to deal with someone that was just so… so… excruciatingly impossible!

Pyro’s eyes widened a little, ~Crap,~ he thought, watching Mana walk out, taking in her words and understanding that was not like his older foster sister at all;; to be so… cold… so quick to kick anyone out, least of all her own flesh and blood. His gaze moved to Swann, arms already folded over his chest as he regarded her for a few moments. He said nothing however, because it was clear, although he did not agree with Blade Girl that she should not come back, he did agree that Skye needed to leave for a while, get her head around things, grieve for her friend, and only come back if she was at least going to try and drop the attitude some.

Skye looked up at her sister, her words filtering into her head and making sense. If Mana was that pissed off at her, she really had been over the top. A royal pain in the ass, a wicked little bitch. "Mana…" she said softly, watching her sister walk out of the room, walk out on her. She sank to the edge of her bed, burying her face into her hands. "John...I...I'm so sorry…" her voice was thick with tears and with the pain that coursed over her. "Help me..." she asked. "Please."

His heart clenched with the obvious pain she was feeling;; felt some of it via the link he shared with his family, yet, found himself unable to take that step to her side to comfort her. “I’m not agreeing to help ya until you promise you’ll stop being such a bitch. Look at how angry Mana was, she’s never like that. You pushed the wrong buttons in someone that is normally so compassionate and understanding Skye. Think about that for a few moments,” he did not move, simply remaining where he was, his arms still crossed over his chest.

She looked up at him, really looked at him. The pain and misery clear in her eyes, tears slipping down her cheeks. "I'm so used to getting what I want, to being the best, to doing everything I set my mind to...and now...I don’t… I don’t know what to do," she admitted softly, her shoulders hiccupping with tears.

“Yes you do, otherwise you would not have come here,” John stated, so matter-of-factly one could misconstrue it for arrogance, if they didn’t know any better. “We were here to help, you pushed us away. Mana’s healing powers are far superior to yours, she wanted to offer to help Kevin, but knew you would have nothing of it. You wanted to do it on your own, and she was willing to let you, to help you, and you didn’t let her,” oh yes, it was coming out now, Pyro was just as ticked as Blade Girl was, just… for some reason, found himself in the roll his older sister usually took. “You knew what to do, you were just too damn stubborn to follow through with it.”

She shook her head. "I needed to do it on my own...it’s hard to explain...I got here and I thought it was gonna be so easy...boy was I wrong," Skye bit her lower lip. "I didn’t let anyone help me and its my fault...it’s my fault he’s dead," she said, softly.

“No, it’s the cancer’s fault. Just because Mana’s powers are stronger than yours did not guarantee she’d even be able to help him. Even if you had let us help you, again, no guarantee you would have been able to do anything. The fact he’s dea… gone, means it was already very strong. Stop beating yourself up right now, because I can promise ya, going down that road will only make you continue to push everyone away more,” he was speaking from experience, more experience than she would ever know.

"I don’t feel so good John," Skye said, leaning forward, her arms wrapped around her stomach. She heard him, she really did, the alcohol combined with the strong crying had caused her stomach to roll dangerously. "I don’t wanna push anyone away...not anymore."

“Serves ya right,” whoa, she better look up and see the slight smirk on his face before she actually reacted to that one. “I suggest ya head to the bathroom, bring that stuff up, and then come back and throw it all out, before one of the less than understandable teachers catches ya with it on campus,” and, it did occur to him, that, as angry as Mana was, she wouldn’t report her younger sister’s actions, especially considering she still believed Skye to be leaving.

"That’s the only bottle...I swear," Skye told him quietly. "If I got sick, I might not stop," She muttered, brushing her hair back from her face. The dancer looked up at him, her green eyes meeting his blue. "I don’t like being a bitch...I’ve kept everyone away…and I hate myself."

The fire bug’s eyebrow rose, “Yeah, including the ones that you needed the most,” he reminded her, finally stepping forward and moving to stand closer, placing a hand on her shoulder. “We’re still here, but I will say this now, it’s gonna take a lot more than words to convince Mana,” and there was a hint of concern in his tone, not just for Skye, but for their older sister too.

"I’m sorry.." she said, almost inaudibly. And for Skye to apologize...for anything, it was serious. And it was heartfelt. "If she listened..." ::Mana...Mana I'm so sorry...please don't hate me…:: if Mana cared at all, having little sister initiate a telepathic convo would hopefully also ensure her sincerity.
