Date: April 1th Time of Day: 11AM, before Lunch Kimberly Parker did not receive a second glance as she stepped off the Jet, into the air port, to baggage claim and onto the Cab that had been called for her. Kimberly did not receive a second glance when she stopped at subway to buy herself some lunch. Kimberly dif not receive a second glance, besides the Cab-Driver, when she decided to make a small shopping trip to buy herself some new shoes to make a good impression on her roommates at the school. Now, the reason this was so particular, was Kimberly was, 4 weeks prior, a national celebrity, then her mutation was discovered, she went from famous to infamous to D-list in a matter of months. It was funny how the American public could just move on from one scandal to another, at the very least Kim could move around in public again. She ducked back into the cab, with a fare of over a hundred dollars now, and went straight to the school. Luckily enough for the blond her parents were paying the fare, because her fame and money had long sense dried for the most part up. It was abit of a drive to that part of the city, but when Kimberly got there, she promptly paid the Cabbie, thanked him for the ride, and took her bags and moved through the front doors and took in the school with her two eyes for the first time. The pamphlets and website showed a dream-like school with smiling faces and mostly normal people. What she was greeted with instead was everything from the normal, to kids with fire coming out of their hands and even kids with yellow skin! Kimberly blushed, thinking to her self .::this must be how the other half of the other half live::. She sighed and asked one student for directions to the girl’s dorm and went on her way. Kimberly took the key she had been sent in the mail and inserted it into the door of room W201, opening the door and taking a deep breath. “h-Hi, I am Kimberly Parker” |

For a reason she was still unsure of, Zanra had chosen to stay in her dorm room today, still feeling a bit down by a recent fever. A pile of books about as tall as she was sat by her bed, and about half of them weren't in English, but in German or Swahili, two languages she knew from her parents. For right now, she was reading something in English, Ayn Rand's Anthem, to be more specific. A colorful pen rested behind her ear, to mark anything interesting, and hilighters lay in a row next to her, to hilight literary devices so she could submit the book as 'extra credit reading.' During her other bouts of constructive creativity, she had decorated her part of the dorm in African tribal art. After getting permission, a blue dove was painted on her part of the celing, along with her entire henna tattoo on the wall behind her bed. A few pictures were on the wall of her family from back in Zimbabwe, Africa, most were just baby pictures from back when her and her brother Chui were born. “H-hii, I am Kimberly Parker” Zanra looked up and smiled at the other girl, inwardly a bit upset about having someone else in the room, but she didn't let it show. She nodded in acceptence, then went back to her reading, twirling a blue highlighter between her fingers. |

Kimmy lugged her luggage in, two designer bags done up in black and pink, but before she even started unpacking she bolted back out the door, and after another ten minutes was back with a trunk and a rather large box. She opened the luggage up, opened the trunk and box and went to town. Everything she seemed to own was pink or some variation of that color. Pink skirts, pink shirts, Pink belts, pink tops, pink bottoms, pink socks and pink accessories. But that wasn't the end of it, noooo not at all, once her clothes were put away she started snazzing up her side of the room, a pink lamp, a pink laptop, a pink cellphone, pink sheets and a pink comforter, which matched her pink pillows and pink teddy bear which was dressed up like a pop-star wearing pink clothing. She was annoyingly, eye-searingly preppy and her side of the room was a explosion of the color pink. She hooked her pink stereo system up at her desk and within seconds pop-music that if you thought about it long enough would probably be pink if music had colors. Kimmy opened up her macbook and turned it on, made sure everything was in working order and than spun back round to Zanra. "So, Zanra was it? Where is our other roommate, her name is like Skye or something." |

Zanra looked over at what was now a pink paradise known as Kim Parker's dorm corner, and sighed. She didn't like pink. Not one. Little. Bit. In Africa, pink was almost non-existent. The most femenine color there was blue, just like the light blue that marked her arm and her wall. She set her highlighter down, and took the pen from behind her ear, making a little note at the side of the page she was on, then looked up at Kim when she had addressed her. "Gone for now...Be back later..." Even her best speech sounded a bit like baby talk. Zanra bit her lip, hoping Kim wouldn't take the way she was talking the wrong way. She was very intelligent, but the was she spoke would say otherwise. She looked up at the picture clock hanging on top of the door, a picture of her and Skye was the face, and now she would need a new picture, now one with Kim, since she wouldn't want her to feel left out at all. It was already past noon, in fact, it was time for her to go to a class in the city. She had joined an African dancing group to take up time after classes, and even when she wasn't feeling well, she had a bit of an obligation to go. "I...have to go...Want to come?" She got up out of bed, and gathered some brightly colored clothes that were around her corner of the dorm. She quickly brushed through her ebony and burgundy hair, slipped on a necklace and shoes, then slowly packed her things in her bag, waiting for Kim to respond. |
