Talyndal had very little free time outside of training - the Dragon had to be ready to fight, to defend the defenseless, to not freeze in shock. She had to react. The little time she did allow herself from that, however, she was searching the internet. There had been no trace of her father- no. There had been no trace of the feral draconic shapeshifter loose presumably in new york state. Not on the news, at least. She found a few signs on the internet, however.

Claims of sightings of a gigantic flying beast; a few times the word 'dragon' was used. The certainty that it was indeed the feral she was looking for, was found on nothing other than youtube. The dragon was several times larger than she was in her draconic form, and that was nothing to scoff at. She watched the video dispassionately. She'd lost his trail, but she knew where he was now. It wasn't far from 'home', where she'd raised Valyn away from the hateful world that would have taken the little boy away from her before she moved to the institute. The child had become her life, as she had nothing left in the world, no one left. He was her family, her brother, hers. All that threatened him, and the other children of the mansion that had become her new home, would be decimated.

Valyn watched his sister carefully through his colorless lashes, pretending to be asleep curled up on a chair. Something wasn't right with her, and that something was steadily increasing. She wasn't Tali. She was more the Dragon than anything, and that scared him a little. He loved the dragon in him, and in her, but there had to be a balance between the human and dragon side.

Dragons were dangerous when provoked. The five year old saw the dragon on the screen, the dragon too big to be his sister. They were the only ones, weren't they? He bit his bottom lip for a moment, before making a decision. He purposely shifted 'in his sleep' and fell off the chair with a real yelp. The air was knocked out of him, and he was slightly startled to find his sister abandoning the computer instantly for him. What was happening to her? He just wanted his sister back, the way she was. Why did everything have to change?
