Lyn was messing with his twin's mind, it was as simple as that. The quieter, shyer twin that had a tendency to stutter - he was also the one that saw that they couldn't show their discontent. The problem was, Ran thought very loudly. Lyndal couldn't describe it any other way. While Lyn's telepathy was fine-tuned, Randal might as well be shouting - and he didn't even realize it. When Lyn quietly pointed it out, his twin reacted badly. Stuff about not sneaking around when they weren't doing anything wrong and such. It was strange to find that his sarcastic and pessimestic twin was such an oddly trusting person. He believed that these people were truly good, and would protect them like their parents had meant them to. The truth was, that things were rapidly degenerating and they had to get out. He had to ... make his brother temporarily forget such, to protect them both. Ran would be their face for the world, while Lyn tried to figure things out.

::We're getting much better,:: he commented to his slightly befuddled twin in response to a vague thought about their training in physical combat. They weren't big, or super strong in any way, but that wasn't important. There were fighting styles that dealt with those issues. ::We just have to work a little harder. We want to make a good example for the younger ones, don't we?::

::Yea... it's just... I'm still not used to actually fighting. It's not my thing... but I suppose I have to make it my thing. There really isn't any other choice. Man, this world's so fucked up.:: Ran was completely oblivious to his twin's interference in his thoughts. It was for his own good, really. Lyn could probably get away, back to that nightmare place... but Ran was stuck here and he would not abandon him. If worst came to worst, he'd drag Ran with him to that place and leave Them with an empty shell. His other self, as he was coming to think of that nigh helpless form, that place was a last resort. He couldn't believe it was real, but there it was. And here he was, playing puppet master to his twin brother. To save them both from ... something. Something quite similar to what he was doing to his brother. Dammit.

Life was getting so surreal... and he couldn't do anything right. He just had to get the both of them out of this before anything happened. Ran had protected him their whole life. It was his turn to do the protecting.
