Time of day: A few weeks after x-babies Place in the time-line:August 9th Faye couldn't believe it. He seriously couldn't believe it. He was on television. It was too much. He could just die. The redhead hadn't told anyone of his recent shift in his job. Not only had he done some stupid as hell commercials, his pretty face had been noticed, and somehow he'd ended up on the runway AND dragged onto a soap opera. It was call Lust of Partisans, or something like, and he remembered his mom watching it when he was a kid, home sick from school. It was dying at the moment, having lost the majority of its cast. It had been his mother's favorite soap opera, but it was failing now. He was the first of many new faces that were due to appear in hopes to reverse that. What the hell was he thinking, he didn't like modeling, why should acting be any better? Come to think of it, he had no idea how to act. They said he was fine, but he couldn't believe it. "What the HELL was I thinking?" he wondered aloud for about the millionth time since agreeing to play his character. The only reason he was chosen was because he looked like the older man that was supposed to be his character's father... albeit more feminine. Julian, he didn't mind so much as the other characters on the show. Most of it was absolute shit, and he couldn't stand soap operas. Money was money, though, and his car was falling apart. He needed to get a real job, and this one would last him a while. If he was lucky. If only he could prevent everyone he knew from ever watching it. He'd just die from embarrassment. So far, just a picture of him had come up in the series, and he really did hope that no one watched the damn show. He wanted to change the channel, watching himself on tv was just absurd. And there was always the possibility of someone walking into the room. Still, it was the first episode he was actually in, and he wanted to see just how bad it was. His lips twitched into a little amused smirk as he made his first appearance and turned life upside down for everyone around him. It was hardly difficult for him to play the cocky youth with a slightly troubled past. "Julian" wanted nothing to do with the people that insisted that he was related to, since they were all rather psycho. He gave a quiet laugh when the show ended, and decided not to watch it anymore. It was kinda lame, in his eyes, much like any other soap opera. And he had fun with his new co-workers. There was a little secret. All the new cast were mutants, and the show was going to take a really interesting turn in upcoming months. Until then, he'd have to put up with the romantic crap that was the daily fare of the show. |

Kimmy rounded the corner, she was running through the School in her trademark eye-searing pink attire when she caught sight of Faye. Now Kimberly was not a fan of soap operas. However one of her cast members who she was still good friends with from 'Ashlee in the City' was one of the cast members in that particular Soap. When she saw Faye on that particular episode, to say the least Kimberly had a complete moment and planned on hounding Faye about it. She was jealous, it was hard enough to get her singles out there, let alone do a acting job. "Faaayyyeee~" she called out, wandering into the room with a silly 'guess-what-I-know' grin on her face. "I diddnt know you were a actor! A friend of mine from the set told me your going to be on that show..." She cooed almost loosing track of what she was saying for a moment. Caught up in how much fun and how much work there was in being a main character on a show. God she missed those days. "Seriously! good for you~" Kimberly and Faye had never really spoke, maybe a passing glance at lunch or dinner, once or twice they were in the same room for a movie or something. But never any conversations or anything like that, so it was particularly rude for Kimberly to talk to him like they were old friends. However, social dynamics, and understanding that not everyone liked you, and that not everyone was a insta-friend were things that Kimberly had troubles understanding. "sooooooo, why diddnt you tell anybody? Thats so totally cool, a role on that soap...so exciting!!!!!" Kimmy went on like that for a while, and probably would ramble off like that until someone told her to shut the hell up. |

Faye's left eye twitched as someone called his name. He so did not need this to get around the school. Jayson would never let him live it down. She'd tease him forever. He couldn't help wondering why he was even at the school. He'd been asked that more than once, and had been unable to give a reasonable answer. That was because there was no reasonable answer. He'd never been a student here, he'd just... ended up here. He no longer had the excuse of training his powers, simply because he had them under control enough now. He couldn't see how they could possibly help him anymore here, and if he had a vision that might affect them he could always just call them. Or tell X-Factor. Moving closer to work wasn't a bad idea, either. The Seer mentally shook himself; the blond girl was talking to him. He should really pay attention, but he'd lost track of what she was saying. Who was she, anyway? She looked a bit like Jayson, before the bet that caused her hair to be dyed red, but her personality seemed to be completely different. A lot more like his, truthfully, down to the over-the-top greetings and general exuberance. Only, with her, it was a bit more... real. The level of energy and enthusiasm was mind-numbing. Between the girl's ramblings, he remembered who she was. He hadn't spoken to her, that he remembered, but yeah. People as flamboyant as she was weren't all that forgettable. Never was directed at him before. Was this how he came off? It was a bit unsettling. Speaking of flamboyant. That pink. The only thing remotely as blinding he'd seen on a person was a lime green outfit owned by one of his stranger friends. Who he hadn't seen in quite a while. ~Where is Kel, anyway? No, pay attention to Kimberly. At least, I hope it's Kim. Otherwise, well, that would suck.~ "I really wasn't expecting the part," he told the younger girl with a half smile. Despite being verbally run over. He did that all the time, so he couldn't really blame someone else for the same. He shrugged, not being his usual talkative self. "The shows not all that great, but its going to be. If I don't screw it up." He gave a short laugh. "Acting isn't exactly my strong suit." |

She rambled on like that for a while until Faye finally started to speak; good thing too because she was beginning to sound like a big dummy. ” "I really wasn't expecting the part, “ He responded to her, which left her kind of dumb-founded. Kimmy didn’t exactly realize how the biz worked in that sense; her parts were always custom tailored to her. She was a great actress, it was just she had a sort of… niche . . . the ditzy blond girl, or the shy blond girl, or the bold blond girl. That was Show business for you. “Not your strong suit?” Kimberly stopped cold, she had been so excited to have someone else in the school who was in show business like she had been and would hopefully return to one day, too bad there wasn't a mutant version of Hollywood. Kimberly thought for a moment, thoughts came and went for a few minutes, and she couldn't seem to grasp onto them long enough to string something out of it. Then she smiled that Billion-kilowatt smile of hers: She had an idea, and Kimberly’s ideas were just about as half-baked usually as the character she had played on the Disney Channel only 2 years previously. She crossed her arms and nodded her head. “Well then we will just have to change that” She smiled and plopped down on a couch “Acting is as simple as making your head empty for a little while, and putting someone else in there. I could give you a few lessons sometime if you like.” |

“Not your strong suit?” Faye shrugged before responding, "Not really. I've been modelling for about a year now, and its really not the same." He gave a long suffering sigh. A little overdramatically, but he was like that sometimes. And it seemed like "I don't know what they were thinking, but I might as well give it a try.." It was a good thing that Jayson wasn't around to tease him about his newest career. Or whatever. He couldn't imagine what she'd say when she came back from across the country. Then again... The thought of moving wasn't a bad idea. He had to remember it. Only... then the acting lessons would be a bit of a pain to get to. Unless they took place before he left? He considered it. Acting lessons couldn't make him any worse than he was, could they? He smiled slightly as the blond girl settled down beside him. "Kim, right?" he began, just to make sure. He acted like an idiot sometimes, maybe, but that didn't mean he really was one. Or that he felt like being a jerk at the moment, and... how much had he changed since coming here? Since when did it matter whether or not he was being a jerk? He shook his head. He hadn't changed, this place hadn't changed him.. maybe he'd just grown up a little. That had to be it. “Lessons would be great.” Making his head empty and putting another person in the empty space? Was that even possible for him? Wait.. wait, he could do that. He could empty his mind. His meditating, he did that for control, but it did empty his mind quite a bit. Maybe, maybe it’d work…. He smiled. “Thanks for offering.” |

"Not really. I've been modeling for about a year now, and its really not the same." , "I don't know what they were thinking, but I might as well give it a try.." Kimberly listened to him intently, surprised at the things she didn't know about her classmate. Model and a Wanna-be actor? Faye was a pretty boy, Kimberly gave him that, But even with all those looks Kimberly couldn't detect a single hint of confidence in his voice. That wouldn't do at~all! "Kim, right?" Kimberly nodded her head as Faye spoke, it seemed to take him a few minutes to sort out whatever was going on in his head, but after a few short moments he continued. “Lessons would be great.” Kim smiled cheerfully and placed her hands on her hips, taking a moment to think about how she should go about teaching someone to act. Kimberly wasn't the greatest actor in the world and she was more than aware of that fact; (the reviews of her first movie, Ashlee in Rome, were less than...praising.), but she was confident she could at least get Faye through his job on a Soap Opera. “Well then, I guess the place to start would be....umm” Kimberly tapped her foot on the floor and squinted her eyes. She wasn't exactly sure. “well it looks like you do allot of thinking. Can you not think? Like at all? Thats where I usually start while I am reading and memorizing my scripts.” If anyone was a expert on emptying their head it was Kimberly Parker, there were times when her classmates were not sure if anything was going on underneath that blond hair at all. |

[ooc]I think I managed to delete part of my last post when I was writing it, without noticing... *sigh*[/ooc] "Wouldn't that turn me into a drooling vegetable?" Galadrien joked, before forcing himself to be slightly serious about this. She was helping him with his job, and it did sound like it might work. Already he'd had a few little problems because, although he liked Julian, sometimes his personality clashed with that of his character. Sometimes it wasn't easy to disconnect, because it wasn't him, it was Julian, and he had to be Julian. It was pretty strange. "But seriously, though, I think I can do that. It's basically the same thing I do when I'm meditating, I guess..." the redhead said, smiling slightly. Did he really think too much? He'd been accused far too often of not thinking enough. Then again, he doubted anyone knew him enough to make such an accusation with a solid basis behind it. Even his friends knew next to nothing about him. That was a little sad maybe, but that was all on him. What they didn't know couldn't hurt him. He didn't have a script on hand at the moment, but he did have a good feel for Julian's personality. Something that would take many people by surprise, was how much he read. He could totally see quite a few aspects of his character that could be expanded, what might happen in the future... especially with how the show was supposed to be heading in upcoming months. Still, Faye frowned. How many people would listen to Faye - or Kim for that matter - as if a word of what they said mattered? How many people would take either of them seriously? How many people looked past the surface, what they chose to show them? Just because they didn't always act serious or... never mind. He really was thinking a bit too much. |

“Vegetable?” She stared at him for a moment, unsure as to what he was talking about. She assumed he was telling a joke and shook it off, not getting it at all. “After you get the lines down, think about who the character, like, is. Breathe the person into you and make them part of you. Sometimes you will get a character who is alot like you as a person; other times you will get a character who isnt like you at all. Either way you have to make your performance as believable as humanly possible.” She stared at him and tilted her head abit, he was totally not listening. It actually looked like he was day dreaming off in some la-la land. Maybe he was thinking about what she was saying, Kimberly considered. But it was still kinda rude to just sit there and not even nod your head as the other person talked. Though Kimberly thought alot of things her peers did was rude, she was kinda raised in a different environment. “Kimmy to Faye, do you read me?” she actually walked up and gave him a soft knock on the head, a little annoyed that he wasn't listening to her acting advice. |

Faye stared at her for a moment when she questioned what he meant by vegetable. Did she really not get it? Kids these days, seriously... Still, he listened to her as she explained things. She did seem to know what she was talking about, and she was pretty enthusiastic. It was a nice change from the ususal drill type explanation. There were no real tricks. She just had experience, and was giving him advice on what worked. "I was listening to you," he said with a raised eyebrow, before continuing in a slightly teasing tone when she stopped talking to give his skull a little rap. She might've thought that him not paying extreme attention was rude, but knocking on someone's head? Now that would definately be defined as rude. "I can think and listen at the same time. It's not difficult. Do I not look sufficiently facinated?" He seemed slightly amused. He wasn't paying enough attention, apparently. "Want me to repeat it word for word, or do you trust that I understood what you said?" His smile faded. "I'm sorry if I don't seem focused. It happens with me sometimes. I am paying attention. I just wasn't sure if I should interrupt you while you were telling me what's what." |

"Want me to repeat it word for word, or do you trust that I understood what you said?" Kimberly rolled her eyes at these words and tuned the remainder of his off his words out. It was his offended tone that turned her off, was she really being all that rude? Honestly. “All I was asking for was like nodding or something, now pull what ever you shoved up there out. Sorry for calling you a vegetable. In any event you would be a cute vegetable.” She giggled a little and nodded her head. “So you wanna like, get some quick and dirty acting lessons?” Kimberly tilted her head inquisitively. She had once been called a over-sized cat by Jubes, Hyper, more perky than Britney Spears on a cocaine binge, and with more style and grace than all of Queer-Eye combined. Kimberly was a character, but thats why the people she chose to get close to liked her. She pulled her hair back, adjusting her pony-tail so that all of her hair was pulled neatly into the pink hair-tie she was using to keep it nice and neatly tamed. " I mean I wouldnt be the greatest teacher, but I can give you tips on memorizing scripts, staying in character, and dealing with a audience. (yeah this is totally a month late. I forgot about it and found it in my bookmarks) |

"Sorry if I'm being disagreeable. I'm like that sometimes." His sarcasm and general annoying nature often had Jayson threatening to throw him into the lake. So far, she hadn't done so, but he wouldn't be surprised if she came through on that threat if he pushed her too much. It seemed that she got the wrong idea... he wasn't offended so much as amused. But that didn't matter. He shrugged slightly at the apology, smiling at the girl. He hadn't really been offended, he'd just been teasing her. He guessed that the whole vegetable was old fashioned enough that he probably shouldn't have expected her to get it. "Yes, I'd like you to give me a few tips," he stated agreeably. It was probably slightly funny, really. A sixteen year old girl was going to give him acting lessons. At least she was admitting that she probably wouldn't be an awesome teacher. Though she was probably underestimating herself. He just needed a confidence booster of some kind, more than anything... as well as those things she'd mentioned. He grinned slightly. "And what to do with scary fans?" he asked jokingly. He didn't think he'd last very long in acting, once they realized that he wasn't fit for more than modeling. And even if he did last a while... it was just a soap opera, for crying out loud. It wasn't like he was going to get famous or anything. |
