Everything seemed to happen before the Iceman could even react. Suddenly the other team had holes in their ship but was still being kept afloat. It was time to follow through with Ari’s orders. As Bobby turned into his ice form he said, “I’ve been waiting years, since I first rode Pirates of the Caribbean when I was seven years old, to say this...” The icy mutant hopped over the side of the ship and while using the water to form the stream of ice for his mode of transportation. He shouted with a smile on his face, “HOIST YUR COLORS YA BLOOMIN’ COCKEROACHERS!”

Bobby slide on his ice as if he was surfing towards the ‘Soldiers’, and as he approached he used his free hand to freeze the water around the ship. It would still be able to sink below but they wouldn’t be able to move. An idea swarmed in the Iceman’s head. The ship wouldn’t be able to move but it wasn’t sinking. With a smirk the iced mutant stood on his pillar of ice surrounded by ocean reaching his hand out to the Paragon ship.

Forming the ice so it would cover the deck, the mast, the sails, and the cannons. Hoping with the added weight, and the continuing added weight, the stress would cause it to sink. As long as the other team couldn’t get to their ‘flag’ it shouldn’t be too hard for the Pirates to snag the Soldiers flag. Shouting over his shoulder to Ari as he continued his freezing of the other teams ship, “Oy Cap’ in, we should be snatchin’ the scallywags flag!”

Jason nodded at his orders, descending below decks. Canon balls should be heavy, but to him they were not. Not even close. Still, it didn't help a lot that the canons were rusted. Kel thought quickly, noting that only one half of the canons were rusted. Jason moved them around the area with ease, doing a job that should have taken two full grown men. They got into a relatively good firing pace, both ships trading shots back and forth before Iceman was finally able to hold the other ship in place, freezing the water beneath them. Jason tried to think if the other side had any kind of abilities that could break the ice. He didn't think they did, though he could be wrong.

As far as Jason was concerned, canons simply could not fire fast enough, and he figured out that if he launched it like a shot put he could throw the canon balls much faster than the canon could launch them, and certainly more accurately. Not much more accurately though. He was lucky his target was so big, or else he would be missing a lot. He was lucky if he hit the front or back of the ship by aiming at them and finally just gave up and heaved away recklessly.

As they closed in on the other ship he was able to get more accurate and an idea crossed him mind. The rusted canons were just sitting there. It wasn't like they were going to do any good now, except as projectiles. He pushed aside one of the firing canons and pushed his strength up even higher. His heave of the rusted piece of metal took a hole in their own ship, but it was well above the water line and not really a threat. The same could not be said of wherever it may land. Jason guessed it would do a lot of damage.

Still, the other ship was helpless, and Jason felt like he had certainly done his fair share of the damage as they pulled along side them. A simple look up told him that Ms. Boyd was putting her own power to work, a bridge of glass solidifying between the two vessels. Jason thought that the hard part was over, and he let out a whoop, joining in the pirate talk as he rushed above decks to board.

"Avast, ye lubbers, let's board that boat and take our plunder!"

Jason felt mildly silly, but he was supposed to be a pirate after all.

Skin

As the skin based mutant finally got up to the boat, he heard a voice call him from the other boat. It was his friend Avery and it was obvious she had to yell in order for him to hear her. Angelo smiled at her comment and rose his hand which shot to a point in her position as he yelled back, "iGracias senorita! I'll keep dat in mind."

Everything was so real and perfectly authentic one would certainly believe they were in the ocean on real boats. Technology these days, so advanced. Even though he had been in this very room a few times before in his teenage years, he still marveled the power this room had. Angelo was a technology fan and he loved to know of all the new technology around which is why he was always so intrigued with this room. The time for admiration was over and it was all business from here on end...kind of. Angelo had spotted something on the boat, a hat. This wasn't just any hat though, it was a freaking pirate hat. The Los Angelean born mutant placed the hat on his head and, being somewhat of a shapeshifter, morphed the skin of his face to look exactly like a traditional pirate's, except grey. Oh yes, he felt just like a Pirate Captain now.

"ARRG ya landlubbers git on dis boat and lets be ready f'r some action"

After everyone was prepared and ready on the boat, the simulation officially started. Angelo turned to Ari to see her instantly take action and give jobs to each person. She and Angelo were the only Senior X-Men on the boat and as such they were the ones who needed to take charge on the boat. Angelo had his own ideas but it would take a team effort, not just of one person, to do this right. "Mighty bossy, aren't ya Ari?" Angelo joked and smiled. In his mind, Skin began to think and analyze what everyone's powers were and how they could fare against each other. Obviously, their team could be seen as having an advantage considering the fact that they could attack and be more effective but it was no reason to underestimate or undermine the other team as they too had powers that if were used a certain way could be deadly.

"Ari, sorry but yur boyfriend just made it da number one place on my target list. He's da biggest threat they got so if we take him out, everything'll go smoother"

As a teleporter, he could appear anywhere and take most of them by surprise. He had seen what he could do and knew of the potential he carried for them. Sure, there were others on that boat that were also a threat but it seemed to Angelo that the one with most dangerous potential was Nightcrawler. They had to know that despite their possibly obvious advantage, they couldn't get overconfident or anything of the sort since that would ruin them. Unlike many of the people on their team, Angelo had combative and situational experience considering that in his lifetime he had been on many life threatening situations during his Generation X days. "Nobody get too confident here. Always be aware of yur surroundin's and always be prepared for da worst. We're all a team here so we gotta look out for each other. We may have da firepower but they got da defensive power. My point is be alert. Now lets let dem salty protectin' seadogs have it!"

As things moved to place, Angelo began smiling as everything was moving fine as of now. The cannonballs were firing and holes were being made. iceman had frozen the ship still and a bridge of glass was being created. The distance though was still too great and it would be easy for the other team to break the glass or even the ice so they would need to act fast and move to the other ship. Angelo would probably be the fastest person to get over there by doing something special. Angelo ripped the sleeves from his shirt, ripped the bottom portion of his jeans and removed his shoes. As a skin based mutation, he needed certain portions of his skin to be exposed. A skin-like tendril shot up to the high view point on their boat and Angelo quickly lifted himself up.

Jerking his body back, the skin tendril still lifting him in the air, his body moved back a bit and he continued doing the process as he began swinging back and forth. Finally, he was back far enough that when he moved forward, he let go of the view point and like Spiderman, began swinging from all the wooden portions of the sail and began advancing towards the other boat. When he reached the ending of their own boat, Angelo launched himself towards the other boat, past the gap between the boats and as he began descending towards the boat, he shot another tendril towards the mast of that boat and pulled his body into the area of the boat. Letting go, he dropped onto the deck of the boat and used his skin to land safely. He rolled a bit but then stood up and looked towards the other members. The skin of his fingers slowly began to elongate making his fingers appear long as hell.

Hopefully, this little attempt of his would cause enough of a distraction and concentration disrupter to allow his own team to approach the boat even faster.

"All right ya goodie goods, hand over da loot!"

Precognitive Visions
Him, skipper? He flashed Avery -er, Loosestrife- a bright grin, losing some of the disappointment that their team didn’t get picked to be the pirates. “No hope that you know how to deal with the sails, right?” he asked Lyn as he passed her and her twin. His former roommates, who seemed to have changed quite a bit in the last month or so; Lyn at least was an extreme bibliophile to the point that he’d had to rescue the younger redheads from book avalanches on numerous occasion. He wouldn’t be surprised if she knew how to handle sails… actually doing so was out of the question though. She was way too weak, frail even. “Anyone know that kinda stuff?” When it came down to it, there were mechanics to sailing that needed quite a bit of know-how.

Not waiting for an answer, he strode off to the wheel. Hopefully it wouldn’t matter. He hadn’t done this before – of course – but he could see ahead a bit if he opened his mind. There were all kinds of options, many of them blundering moves… which he zeroed in on purposefully in his sight, so he knew what to avoid. Yay for learning from possible future failures, rather than actual ones! He shook his head, the possibilities crumbling as the real world – er, the simulation – returned to his vision.

It was kinda shocking that the visions actually came when he tried to see... he'd tried on the off chance that it'd work. It never had before, really, and it usually just gave him headaches when he tried to force a vision. Well... it was something to think about. He watched the proceedings with half an eye, as he steered the ship. The Seer kept his mind open to visions, but of course they weren't forthcoming. One step forward, and two backward...

While cannonballs were exhanged, and damage dealt, Faye steered the ship and looked for something useful. Say, a weapon. Like a sword... before long he was equipped with a nice rapier. Hopefully he wouldn't have to use it, but eh. At least he knew the basics...

"Ya goodie goods?" Faye questioned, eyebrows raised as he glanced back from the helm. That was odd phrasing, and the voice... yup. It was one of the 'pirates', boarding thier ship. Skin. Tackling him off the side of the ship would be a bad idea. Very bad idea. He doubted anyone would have time to do more than throw a rope over the side, considering that when there was one pirate aboard, there was sure to be more to come. "You have to be kidding me. Get off my ship!" Loudmouthed and basically useless. He stood at the helm, glaring despite his complete amusement in this. Perhaps someone could take out the other mutant while he .... hey, was someone else coming along the water? His eyes narrowed. "Incoming.."

Shina Schwarz
Unregistered

Shina’s artillery training was coming in, and with nothing more than muscle memory, she had another pack of gunpowder and the ball loaded by the time the first shot had hit their sail. She was being careful not to aim at any of the personnel. Granted, the Danger Room would stop anything before anyone got hurt, but she didn’t want to actually injure anyone severely. For now, she would continue working on hitting that mast. That was about when a layer of ice slid over the cannon port, blocking her view. Quirking an eyebrow, she sent out a pulse and noted the circling ice-man icing their ship. She growled, knowing that the ice covering the cannon itself would make it to where the cannon would backfire if fired at this point.

Ice This...

She began step back to analyze the situation when a certain stretchy individual touched down on the boat. Shina and Jane didn’t get a long on a lot of things… hell, they didn’t get along on almost anything, but only one thought ran through their shared mind at the same time.

~Oh hell no…~

Taking a couple of silent steps back, she used her vision naturally and saw the man and positioned herself just underneath him, and then heard him make his demand for the treasure. Making a strong right fist, and noting the metal-tipped knuckles, Shina smiled as she reared back as far as she could. In a grand uppercut, she smashed through a floorboard her fist erupting much like an undead from their grave, and grabbed the man’s leg, grabbing firm. Stretchy limbs would make this difficult, but as usual, she had a plan. She sent a small pulse of reverse frequency energy into the guy’s leg, and wrenched him downward as hard as she could. The reverse energy would probably cause a burning pain in the leg, but hopefully it would keep him from simply stretching free of her grasp, and allow her to bring him down to her level.

She wasn’t supernaturally strong, but she knew that if he wanted to avoid really getting hurt, not to mention pinned, he would likely act like a squid, squeeze through the hole she had made, and face her. She wasn’t going to hurt him… much, and with all likeliness, Shina caught the man off guard. Most anyone predicts threats from the front and sides, a skilled combatant knows to watch above and behind, but very seldom does anyone predict an attack from below.

Telepathy, Telekinesis
High above, in the control room, Jean chuckled silently as their teams whooped and hollered getting to the ships. With her eyes focused on the screens around them, she said, “It was a great plan of yours to put them through the pirate-sim. Simple one-on-one and kick the crap out of the drones simulations get really boring after a while.”

Jean shifted in her seat, crossing one leg over the other and began settling in; depending how skilled as team captains the senior X-Men were, and how much luck they had, this fight could take a while. When Ricochet’s first “HAHAHARR Mateys” followed closely by Iceman’s “HOIST YUR COLORS YA BLOOMIN’ COCKEROACHERS!” sounded through the speakers, Jean gave a theatrical sighed and put covered her face with her hands. “How many bad pirate accents do you think we’re going to hear before this is over?” she asked, but her voice held a hint of laughter.

When Nightcrawler had Want summon away the Exemplar’s steering wheel, Jean nodded and made notes, the corners of her mouth curving up. “Very sneaky idea, I like it… and a good use of her power too. And here I thought you Paragons were above such dirty tactics,” she teased Warren.

However, Ari and others dealt with the problem; Evvy by creating a new wheel and Mazu by manipulating the water to guide their ship. Jean nodded at all three of their efforts, glad that the team was working together so well. When Author corroded half of her team’s cannons, she shook her head in disbelief, muttering “saboteurs,” under her breath.

But Author’s efforts, though successful, only slowed her team momentarily; Kelrian muscled cannon after cannon around, replacing them with undamaged ones and he was soon joined by Tiny Mighty, who had an easier time on it. A flash of rapid movement turned her attention to the Paragons ship. Iceman showboated through the air, running circles around the ship on an icy slide and covering the Paragon’s keel and deck with ice. “He’s really getting into this.” She leaned back in her chair, “You know, X-Factor are going on their vacation soon and having Iceman in command of the Junior team while they patrol would give him some more field experience and bump him up to Senior, with Ari and Skin. What do you think?”

As she spoke, the cannons boomed back and forth. Interested as she was in Angel’s thoughts on Iceman, from the corner of her vision, she raised an eyebrow as TM tossed one of the ruined cannons into the Paragon ship’s side; a crossing that was quickly followed by Skin, shooting himself across the expanse of water like a rubber band.

“Nice,” she said about both.

[OOC: When you’re writing your posts, don’t forget to mention your character dealing with the obstacles caused by other characters. The cannon TM threw, even though it was above the water-line, would make the ship rock back and forth very heavily; couple that with Iceman’s ice on the deck, and people on the Paragon ship would be having a very hard time aiming cannons or even keeping on their feet. Shina has also been aiming at the Exemplar’s mast, so that should be coming down soon too.

If you can’t remember what other people did, take a moment to skim through the previous posts. ]

Mazu kept her eyes shut tight as she went through the motions, working together with everyone to keep the ship steady while they approached the Paragon ship. Her focus was stretched just about as far as it would go and the constant shaking of the ship had Kimmy constantly loosing her hold on the water she was pushing with the ship, and in the sea, 80 gallons only went just so far. She had also noticed a tiny snag in her ability, the more sea water she pushed she was feeling the resistance of the salt in the water. She couldn't push the salt, only the water.

Then Tiny let off the cannons, and she felt the ship lurch back and forth and she slipped, falling onto her rear. "Fudge!" she yelped as she slipped, quickly scrambling to her feet. The momentum she had given the ship was still in effect and watching the Paragon ship grow closer made her feel kinda proud. She for once was keeping up.

She walked to the other side and watched the Paragon ship, not sure what she was waiting for. She took a deep breath, closing herself off again from all the activity and chaos around her. What she wanted to do here took a huge focus. "Could someone please cover me? I am about to go long range before we get any closer!"

Kimmy twirled her hand into the air and 80 gallons of Salt-Free water rose from the sea directly between them and the paragons. She was humming some pop song or another to herself and sung aloud as she prepared her attack.

"Threw some cords together.... D - E - F" with the letters D, E, F she thrust her hands out and away from her body, manipulating the ball. First it was divided into 20 balls, then 40, then 80.

" Tried to focus my attention, but I feel so ADD" with ADD she thrust her hands outward again, getting into a groove with the whole thing. The balls dividing further, into 160, then 340, then finally 640.

"Just a little longer" Kimberly had never froze so many different balls at once and was doing her best to freeze them all but it would take a few minutes, one frosting over and turning solid after another, each had a sort of light blue glow to them.

Lesly fumbled for a second, waiting for the capacitor to charge. It was harrowing waiting for that red button to stop flashing. The Little Author took a few breathes to steady herself, waiting for the world to pass by at her own pace. She breathed, letting the adrenaline in her system push the biological clock in her head to the max, allowing her to see more details per second.

And just in time too.

From the hull of the ship a slight cracking, and then, an explosion as one of her rust cannons tore though the eighteen inch planking like it was a slightly moist paper towel. Author barely had time to duck before the half ton of rust zinged over her head.

"WHAT THE HELL!!" she said, swearing mentally at her stupidity. Of course, they had Tiny Mighty, and thus...he could hurl the dead cannons at their hull. Les had given him ammo. She rolled her eyes from the floor and jumped up, taking time to brush the shrapnel from her hair. She looked over to Shina, who for some odd reason was standing in the middle of the deck, before smashing though the deck and starting to drag the gray skinned mutant though the deck.

She ran over to the hole in the monster hole on the hull. Even though the cannon was only seven feet across, the hole was big enough to drive a VW Beetle though. As such, two cannons, and one of her rail guns were now smashed and twisted on the other side of the deck. Amazing thing kinetic energy...

Lesly took and immature moment to scream incoherently at the other team before running over to the other Rail gun, which has been charged this whole time. She carefully adjusted the...pitch, aiming low along the broad side of of the other ship. She pushed the button. and with a slight "whoosh", the cannonball left the barrel and near mach speeds.

Before she could see the damage she dealt, Iceman, in every form of the name, began to ice over the deck, the hull, and water around them. The Author smiled some in admiration of the fellow mutant. Even if he was on "the other team" Les was still impressed with the icy mutants performance.

But it was still a stumbling block that the Paragons had to over come. She couldn't tell from here, but the main deck had to be frozen over, making walking more of a skate.

Les considered going for her notebook again, but she really didn't know if she could do another tweak. She's done it before, in mild practice in her bedroom, but never with stuff so big. She didn't know if she could have both the cannons and a defrosted ship.

As she was considering this, something was happening on the other side of the battle. A huge sphere of water rose up into the air, spiting down into a thousand little spheres the size of baseballs. Slowly, they began to freeze midair, waiting to be released to the Paragon team.

"Not good," She said, abandoning the notebook idea and reaching for her Bo Staff. A quick flick of her wrist and the rod snapped out to it's full length. "Oh SOOOO not good.." The Author said, backpedaling from the exposed hole and towards the hold the deck below. "INCOMING SNOWBALLS!!!" she hollered to the upper decks, hoping that someone would hear her. As she scrambled down the gangway towards the treasure hold.

Kurt Wagner

Kurt figured it would get this would happen once they closed distance. Their powers were flatly better. There was nothing that could really be done about it. Well, that's not entirely true. He could see the rather large collection of ice balls on the top of the exemplar ship and he could tell their source. Kurt was not particularly in the mood to have hundreds of canon balls thrown at them by Ms. Parker. In a puff of smoke he vanished, latching onto the mast of the ship, his eyes taking only a moment to find the young hydrokenetic before appearing behind her and reaching out to try and grab her arm in his hand.

Over the years Kurt had grown accustomed to his ability to appear rapidly in a different place than he had been a moment ago. He had a certain natural ability to not be disoriented by his sudden shifts, but others were not so lucky. Kurt had disabled more than one foe by transporting them rapidly from one place to another, throwing their natural sense of where they were, or even which way was up, completely out of whack. It was unpleasant, disconcerting, and quite debilitating. Kurt would be flatly shocked if she could keep her control over her ice, and a little surprised if she even managed to stay conscious. He bamfed her around a good five times. While debilitating, none of the effects were permanent. She would be a little woozy for a while, but would walk it off fine.

Kurt wasn't planning on sticking around to find out how successful he had been though. Even if he succeeded beyond his wildest hopes it would be raining ice balls on exemplar. He planned to be be back on his own vessel at the speed of bamf.

Ari Boyd

"Hey, someone's gotta get the job done while you chat with the other side," Ari said jokingly, smirking at Angelo. The gray mutant was never dull to be around and like Avery, Ari thought fondly of the man. They weren't as close as they'd been to Diego, but Ari did consider him a friend. Diego's disappearance hadn't been easy on anyone, that was certain. He joked about Kurt making the list and Ari laughed, "Do what you gotta do, Skin. Just don't return him to me damaged." Did Ari really think Skin could catch Nightcrawler in order to damage him? Not really. Kurt was a teleporter and a skilled one at that. It was going to take a combination of skill, brain power, and sheer luck to stop him. Ari didn't put it past Skin to think of something though.

Cannonballs went flying and soon the ship was rocking back and forth almost dangerously. Ari swallowed hard, keeping her eye on the prize. Motion sickness wouldn't do anyone any good right now, but even without that, it was tough to stay upright with the constant rocking. It was like a really, really turbulent bus ride. Ari moved from her place to help with the cannons, cursing under her breath when they suddenly became rusty. She could certainly think of who to blame for that one and while clever, it was aggravating to have to deal with. TM began impressively hurtling cannons over like they were dodgeballs and as soon as they were close enough, Ari raised her hands and let her own glass projectiles fly. "I'll cover you, Kimmy," she said, her eyes lightening to a hazel as her vision zoomed in like her own personal telescope, catching sight of the people aboard. She wasn't aiming for the Paragon ship though. She was aiming for the people aboard it.

Kim had managed to bring their ship even closer and soon Ari was creating a sturdy glass bridge to connect between the vessels. "Everybody board!" she commanded, feeling a surge of excitement at being pirates. The Exemplars had to be swift, their ship's mast already lopsided behind them. Another cannonball or two and it would fall on them. Ari didn't plan to wait around to find out and with the others already climbing aboard, Ari didn't spare another glance at their ruined ship. It was a good thing Mazu had been able to steer, and Ari smirked as the Paragon ship froze in place from Bobby's doing, ice coating the wood and making it glitter like a sculpture.

Ari felt quite proud of her team. Everybody was showing off their personal strengths, whether it be Evvy who was taking initiative in attempting to repair their ship, or Tiny Mighty who was showing off his vast physical stamina. Even if they didn't win this, they had shown that they weren't going down without a fight. Of course that didn't mean they couldn't still win. The brunette's eyes landed on the blur that was Ricochet and an idea flashed through her mind. "Icy! I got another idea--" she said, waving her arm to catch his attention.

She waited until he was close enough so that she wasn't yelling out their battle plan to continue. "We don't stand a chance if we don't take out Ash and Kurt. Make the floor icy and I'll focus on Ash, maybe we can get him to slip and fall overboard or something." She grinned a little deviously as she nodded at Bobby to start, raising her hands and firing off thin, blunt pieces of glass toward the blonde speedster. She was 'aiming' for Ash, but that didn't mean she was being careful not to hit any of the other Paragon soldiers.

She did not like heights, she did not like heights, she did not like heights. This was not a good idea. Futhermore, it was an incredibly stupid idea and she was getting down. Patching things up while cannonballs are still flying, now that's inspired!

Needless to say, Evelyn was having serious doubts about her current situation. She was repairing the damages pretty quickly, but even so things were falling apart quicker than she could fix them. A metal ball came a little too close to her, and Evvy decided abruptly. She was getting down. Now. Only, that required looking down... oh, now that was a wonderful idea. Look at the little people running around...

The plant manipulator steadied her breathing and began climbing down. They were almost at the next ship, and people had begun moving over... She was only about halfway down, when something finally hit the main mast. Below her, too. It cracked, and she held her breath for a moment before she forced herself to breathe again. It was going to hold, for now. She forced herself to climb down quicker, and breathed a sigh of relief. Some of the others were boarding Paragon's ship; she would help them out shortly. The current problem was - stop the ship from falling apart. She was getting a bit of a headache, but the mast stayed strong...

And then a cannonball went through it, and it burst into splinters. She swore, and the wooden shrapnel went flying. Any and all pieces that were headed toward her teammates, ended up as petals. Her self-appointed duty a bit of a failure, she checked on the offensive. It wasn't so hot. In fact, it was quite Icey. She grinned, until Kurt came up and bamfed off with Kimmy. Damn it. She scowled and decided; she was getting over there. Now. Only, how...

Rosethorn smiled suddenly, as inspiration really struck. The ropes. Vines. Nice mix... she got to work. They should be close enough...

JP - Mordred twins & Kelrian

Ran and Lyn were not very 'useful' in a fighting situation with other mutants. However, this made it easy to underestimate them. Good for them. The twins made their way below deck early on, and began to look through things to even out their chances. After a short time, they got an idea. Ran continued 'working' and Lyn went to inform the others. One by one, she whispered to them. Ran was setting up little traps below; she told them exactly where they were and what triggered them. After a short time, as she was about to climb the mast to play look out, she realized it wasn't quite necessary. They were already there. And the great ship Paragon was under attack.

The ship was soon covered in ice; Lyn abruptly slipped and fell on her behind. As the dreaded Exemplar pirates boarded, she moved aside. Skin, Iceman, Glass, and ... Evvy? How had she gotten across? Lyn moved to the side of the ship, only to see the vines connecting the two ships. ~Oh no you don't,~ she thought, before adding to her brother in afterthought, :We've been boarded. Finish up and ... get in position.: A silent reply; :Yes, ma'am.: She ignored the irritation at her brother's word usage, and quickly found a small bladed implement.

Someone else was using Evvy's vine bridge to get across. Kelrian. She gave a little wave to her friend, and cut the vine he was climbing across. Splash. Hehe... wait... where was he? Her eyes widened slightly, before she calmed herself down... ~This is only a simulation, he has to be fine...~

The las thing the blond saw before he hit the water was Lyn waving at him. Oh, hahaha, very funny. Holding his breath, he kicked his way to the ship. He did not need anymore attention before he even got there. Luckily his body did alright without a bit of oxygen, short term at least... the damage done by not breathing was quickly repaired. Still, his lungs burned, and he felt slightly dizzy by the time he surfaced in the shadow of the ship. He looked for a way up, only to see a slender vine making its way down. So Evvy had noticed. He smiled and climbed up swiftly.

The soaked regen rolled over the edge of the ship and landed on his feet. Only to fall over. It was icey, and he was clumsy. Kel quickly stood up, trying not to get stuck to the ice with his wet self. He had a target. No, he wasn't going to make demands or go after the official target directly. He was going to take care of something troublesome so it would be easier for his team to win.

With little flourish or fanfare, Kelrian walked over to Lesly and took her notebook. And climbed the mast. If she wanted it back, she'd have to follow him.

Bobby looked on as Tiny Mighty threw a rusted cannon. His name, which the iced mutant never made fun of because the name alone was funny enough, certainly held true. The pop star started to form a massive attack when Kurt spoiled it by teleporting her and making all that she had done useless. Ari had shouted out commands to ice the deck and the Iceman did so quickly.

Extending his hand and in a rapid fashion he began to make the deck of the Paragon ship more slick that an ice skating rink. After he was done, Bobby slid on his ice stream to the Paragon's ship. Maybe make a break for their scepter. The ice was his advantage, maybe Kurt could stop him if he could touch him.

The Iceman saw that his team mate Rosethorn was in a bit of a bind, their ship was falling apart as must as he wanted to board the Paragon ship and take the scepter to win the DR session Evvy needing help was much more dire. Bobby retreated back to the Pirate ship on his ice stream. He slid around the pirate ship in a circle to patch up the holes and fix the mast before it fell.

Sliding like a snowboarder and extending both hands to repair the holes with thick ice, Bobby went to work relieving the stress off of Evvy. He reinforced the mast with thick strong ice. Turning his head to Evvy he called out, "Rosethorn! If ya grab a rope and hold on I'll slid ya to the Paragon's ship." Quickly sliding by to grab a rope and tossing one end to her and tie the other around his waist The Iceman waited to see if she'd hold onto the rope and be prepare for a quick icy ride to the Soldiers' ship.

It was along shot but if he could just get her on the opposing teams ship she could use her vines to reach for the scepter without even getting close to it. It was a shot worth taking. Bobby would look out for her and make sure Kurt or Ricochet wouldn't get a hold of her.

Ricochet

Things were getting hectic…crazy hectic- psycho freaking insanely hectic, and naturally, Ricochet was in his element. Exemplar were swarming upon their boat like a steady stream of angry mutant wasps, buzzing around and spewing their various powers about into some glorified freakish circus show, causing the boat to rock back and forth as if one of those nauseating fairground rides. There was a moment a cannon…an actual cannon sailed merrily into their ship and made it shudder and moan as though in the throes of labour…and Ash thought the entire thing was hilarity incarnate. An ice rink for a deck made zipping about a little precarious, but Ash managed to compensate, mostly.

The sound of glass singing as it splintered a few inches away from the speedster brought him to a swift halt, coaxing his head around to stare at the determined brunette on the opposing ship. As she continued to fling the objects at the dirty blonde he proceeded to dodge and weave through the razor-sharp hail, a grin pulling further across his face, if it could possibly do so. He had already had a maniacal expression splitting from ear-to-ear beforehand.

Dude…she’s shooting, some weirdass shiny see-through missile items, but she’s shooting at me! How cool is that?! This is like some super-powered Indiana Jones-James Bond-Steven Seagal shit… wait, no, gross- Seagull sucks donkey’s balls. I think I died a little inside when I watched Shadow Man. Shadow Man. Who the hell came up with that name? Who the hell makes these movies? They’re worse than badly dubbed Chinese martial art flicks…at least those have comedy value…

“You have insulted my families honour; prepare to die!” Ash chortled, jabbing a finger toward his assailant, which turned into a middle-fingered salute…before he completely lost his footing and unceremoniously crashed into the forecastle. Peeling himself from an imitate view of the pine with a groan and a shake of his head, the demi-Italian dazedly glanced around to check exactly what had caused him to fail-- phail, with a capital PH. The advancing hands of Antarctica immediately gave him his answer.

As the increasingly slippery ice crackled further across the wood grain, over the splintered particles that lay strewn on the deck, and began to spread a gnarling double layer of lubricious death-on-deepfreeze-- recovering from his impact Ash bolted for the shrouds, which were draped lazily above the chaos. Too lazily. At his top speed, the living mass of ice moved as though through treacle to the speedsters eyes; a wild leap launched him onto the knotted rope that he had been staring at so eagerly not five minutes ago. Blurring northwards Ash was soon high above the group, racing the frosting hand over hand.

Once at the top eyes flicked from one corner to another, scanning the enemy ship and then dodging around to weigh up his options. He settled upon Jack Frost, Mr Snowman, Icicle-Boy…pick a name, any name… and without pause for thought had wrenched his boot from his foot. It was thrown with an almighty sidearm pitch, clean at his target’s head. Full strength. Yeah, probably not the best of ideas, being five hundred miles an hour of steel-capped leather, with all the extra spin physics would put on it, but the guy was a freaking block of ice. For all Ash knew it might would only chisel a few splinters from his shiny blue head. On the other hand, it might could completely shatter the Iceman- who knew? Ash wasn’t waiting to find out. The other boot was soon sailing through the air --well, rocketing like a torpedo, but who was counting-- straight at the brunette chick. For the briefest of moments slight concern at what would happen should that one connect flickered through his ever-present carelessness, but the thought was gone in the next, whisked away on that constantly zephyrus thought-storm.

Whipping the penknife from his pocket, Ash slashed through connecting rope at high speed, doing a five-minute job in a few seconds. His descent was accompanied by a rabid howl, which ended in a raucous laugh- only to be cut off as he crashed into solid ground.

Merda…” shot between his teeth, accompanying the whoosh of air that slammed its way out of his lungs alongside the whump of his feet hitting the deck. Thank all the gods and Jebus for durability. If not for his mutation his legs would have shattered like matchsticks. The pain splintering along his right ankle said he had sprained it, but hey, how many times had he done that before?

“It’s ok folks, he’s alive,” he gasped, winded, while staggering upright to see if anyone had been tangled in his handiwork. If it had all gone to plan, the deck would be completely swathed in the shrouds- barring neatly across the hold door; any of the enemy players on their boat would be caught up in a psuedo-net…including some of his own team, but never mind eh? Necessary collateral, and all that…

Anne Lee

There were holes in the ship and ice everywhere. The pirates were about to set out with the boarding. Only one course of action remained. Anne Lee sat waiting out her time limit. One day she would be able to summon large things she had never summoned before without losing her breath. Today was like any ordinary day, just wait it out. It didn't hurt to get hit with a cannonball or did it? Oh, she was certainly not going to find that out. Bracing herself Anne Lee pushed one hand against the iced deck which wasn't smart. Her hand slipped and she did a face plant. Once more, she tried to brace herself. This time with a better success.

The good thing about being born in the snow belt of New York was that the ice would be no problem. Without proper ice skates one couldn't call the movement she was doing ice skating. It was more like half-walking, half-gliding on the ice. She even kept her balance as she rubbed her chin. Half-hoping there would be a bruise there tomorrow the blonde glided to a stop. By now the pirates had already boarded the ship. Ari was shooting glass. Wait glass?

Not really getting too close she watched the shoot out. It was kinda one sided since Ricochet kept running. Well, there couldn't be any use for discarded shards of glass, right? A grin, a sneaky grin grew on her face. Ari wouldn't notice if a few of her shards 'disappeared'. Concentrating, Anne Lee focused as much as she could in this mad house. Summoning glass traveling the same velocity as they were being thrown would not be smart. Too bad this wasn't thought of before. Focusing on just one shard. Just one random shard would do. She summoned just one shard. Surprisingly it didn't really hurt. A sudden sharp pain erupted from the ear lobe of her right ear. With success her goal was achieved. One shard was summoned yet when it reappear in front of her it still continued to travel. Lessoned learn. The nick would heal. With luck no bleeding.

This whole training thing actually benefited. So far she learned not to summon moving things unless she jumped out of the way. The other thing, bring your own weapons to a battle. She had been trying to summon a couple of knifes from her desk drawer in her dorm. It hadn't been working. Why? Because five mile radius of summoning imploded to only the inside of the DR. Why!? When outside the mansion there wouldn't be such restrictions. She could just summon anything within her limits. This bit like mad but she got over right quick.

The improvised knife (glass shard) had hit the wall. It hadn't stuck in the wood for some reason. Maybe it wasn't really traveling that fast. Picking it up Anne Lee ran for the below decks. On her way she ran into Lyn. The twins were setting traps, nice. And... Ricochet, what the heck was he doing? The sails? ~No, not the sails but what is the term,~ she thought making it blew deck just before the ship was engulfed. Now this was be far appreciated.

The bowels of the ship there laid danger. The traps were the first things avoided. A cannon had made a giant hole? Unorthodox but effective. She approved with a silent nod. However, the cannon was meant as a way for the other team to retrieve the sceptre. If the small blonde had any say, they would never get the chance. Just as Angel had said there was a large wooden box in the haul of the ship. Awesome. For luck Anne Lee knocked on the wooden surface. The ship was moving but not moving. They were stuck in ice so that must have meant the battle was still raging.

The perfect spot became sighted. She hid behind a couple of barrels near the ladder that led to the topmost deck. When the chest was opened the one seeking would be met with surprise. Hopefully, her being this close would make the summoning be easier. The 'knife' she slipped between her belt and hip. Once again, Want focused. There was no guarantee that this would work. What if, though, it did? The whole goal of this training session was for the Exemplar not to get the sceptre. Many ways existed. She just happened to be one of them. She could do this. She knew she could.
