Jacob landed with a sickening thud, jumping out a few feet off the hardwood floor. He slammed into the floor, his legs giving out underneath him. But even as he feel, he knew something was wrong.

Where was the hospital staff?

"Help!!" He screamed as his legs gave out underneath him. It started out as another ordinary day out on the humble streets of New York. Jacob was simply walking along the street, going about his business, when someone screamed from a back alley. Jacob, of course, jumped in, and tried to save the citizen. Just because he was nearby and no one else was helping. Jacob jumped in, gave the three thugs a good scare.

But then, one of them fired.

Now, Jacob had jumped, to what he thought was a hospital. but this wasn't his regular hospital. Nor was it any hospital he's every been in. Where every it was, It would have to do. He reached down to his right leg. in the minute he was laying on the floor, already a fair sized blood pool had formed around him. He was bleeding out.

"Help Me!!" He screamed out in the empty hall. "Help, I've been shot!!"

Where in the Hell was he?

((OOC: I'll explain how he got there in a moment.))

Place in timeline: almost two months after X-babies; during X-factor vacation

She was becoming wary of kids. It started last year upon her return to the mansion sporting a new shade of red. Seemed the twins had been right to choose that color for her. If it hadn't been for other kids then the red would have stayed, natural looking or no. More than ever there were children running around the mansion. How'd it happen Jayson wasn't able to find out. Just hours before the flood (a Tsunami in New York?) she had left the mansion sporting a new hair color. The kids liked to play pranks. There was no time to re-dye her hair. There was no time to find the kid who spiked her shampoo. She had to fly to Nebraska. Her step-cousins had been found.

They went missing back when the school hit lock down mode. They ended up making it as far as Nebraska. Their attended destination: Xavier's. Just luck for them because an old family friend lived in that state. He had been called and forced to remain under secrecy. It lasted only a couple of weeks. Something strange had happened where her step-aunt couldn't get a message through to her. Somehow they must had been assured that there was no need to tell anything about finding twins. Yet, the moment the family friend couldn't stand looking after them anymore, Jayson was called to save the day.

So she went to pick them up finding out her suspicions were correct. They were indeed mutants. Then off they went back to California where their favorite subject, joke, compliant was their escort's new hair color. But Elyse and Elysia became disappointed that Aunt Lynn would not allow them to follow Jayson back to the mutant school. There was sense in this but their mutations weren't too bad, a wall crawler and a lighting rod respectfully, so they could wait a bit before heading to Xavier's. In truth they were being punished for running away in the first place. Blaming Jayson they punished her in the only way they could think of.

Today it was the first day of September. Spending the summer with her step-family was a good vacation away from the craziness of the mansion. Violey called her the moment she had grown up again. No explanation was given why this had happened so her boss had to be contacted after relaxing just a bit. Let bygones be bygones, right. The chance was never had. The moment Jayson opened the door she was meet with an unexpected welcoming committee. Yesterday, Jayson called telling she would be returning but this?

"Oh God," Jayson muttered dropping her suitcase to the floor. By now this had become reaction. She took off her sweater and balled it up. As long as the teen didn't touch her skin wearing a T-shirt would be alright. What would happen if she turned him to stone? She neared him. "Just try to stay still," she said in as sweet and calm as a tone as she could mange. And she pressed her green sweater upon the profusely bleeding wound. "I'm getting help."

With hope he would be alright just a moment more. The intercom was on the wall. Why didn't she call for help the first time? A gloved thumb jammed the button to send out the message throughout. "Alert, a healer is needed in the entry way. Someone's bleeding badly," Jayson shouted. The last thing on her mind was the one thing bothering her the whole journey home. Who cared if her hair was dyed back to her natural color? "I'm putting more pressure on your wound," she announced before doing so. "Just try to stay still. Help is on the way."

"Help Me!!" He screamed out in the empty hall. "Help, I've been shot!!"

Shina hadn’t been too far off from the main hall, and had heard the echo in the unusually empty hall. Without hesitation, the book fell from her hands, and she was running full sprint towards the source of the sound. She sent a strong pulse of energy through the school, greatly enhancing her sight and giving the location of the boy who had called for help. She was running full sprint, completely on instinct… she had dealt with dozens of combat wounds in theatre, most of them bullet wounds… and while she wasn’t a doctor, she wouldn’t have much problem making sure he didn’t live.

It was moments like this that Shina thanked Jane. Jane had become an unofficial healer of sorts, having the finesse to deal with the complexity that using their energy to heal required. The question was not so much if she could keep him alive, because she knew that if he was hollering for help, he was in good shape. She had fixed people who were far worse off than someone who could talk, and they lived. Midstride, Jane took control, and she reached to her belt on her right hip. IFAC… Individual First Aid Kit, issued to the military, it had a series of vacuum sealed bandages and other life saving devices that makes things easy.

As she approached, her stride not slowing, Jane noticed someone beside the patient… she hadn’t even heard the call over the intercom. She was too focused… she needed to save the kid, and judging from the blood, he was hemorrhaging pretty badly. The pool of blood was growing, it was obvious that he had suffered a small caliber gunshot wound, and it was possible it had nicked the primary artery that ran through the leg. It was two high up on the leg to apply a tourniquet, so she was going to have to go with another approach.

“Lie Down!” she yelled as her footsteps came closer. She had her IFAK pouch open, as well as her Gerber extracted. While it usually wasn’t procedure to remove the bullet, Shina could see the veins, see the bullet, and knew that it was pinching a secondary artery and it would make things a lot easier if she yanked it out. “Hey, give him something to bite down on!”

It wasn’t really a request, and anything would work, but it was necessary to make sure he didn’t accidently bite on his tongue… that would kill him, and there wasn’t really anything she could do for that one… as far as she knew. Jane really hadn’t put her healing powers to the test…

As soon as the boy laid down, she warned him. “I’m telling you now, this will hurt… but you’ll thank me later.” She told him, trying to give him some kind of heads up to what was about to happen. She leaned his injured leg so the outside of his foot was laying on the ground, exposing the primary artery that was pumping blood to that leg. She then found that artery, using her vision, and placed her knee on it, effectively pinching it off, and slowing the blood nearly instantly.

She then took a single hand, and opened the wound slightly. She wouldn’t be able to get in there with her hands, and thus, the Gerber with built in needle-nose pliers were brought to bear. Reaching in carefully, she grasped the bullet with the tip and slowly pulled it out. Shina knew she needed to do this, otherwise Jane wouldn’t be able to heal.

Still applying pressure to his leg, which did cause discomfort and a light amount of pain, she matched her bio-energy frequency to his, and aimed her fingers at the hole. It started as nothing more than a blue hue of light, but slowly it refined, constricted, and became a visible blue beam of energy that was firing off into the hole in his leg, and slowly, it was healing… energizing the cells and allowing them to replicate at a highly accelerated rate. It was healing, but it wasn’t too quick. The main pain was over, now it was just the pressure on his inner thigh that might hurt the most.

((OOC: I have permission from Jayson's player to move her Character))

Jacob groaned in agony as he shifted his weight around, trying to see who was coming down the hall. he had been laying there for only a minute when..a young girl about his age, dressed in a sweater and carrying suitcase.

"Wha?" He said, as the girl rolled him over and quickly applied pressure to his wound. She then ran over and intercom, and asked for a "healer". What did she mean by that? Why in the hell didn't she say 'doctor' like every other hospital?

Still, he couldn't complain that he was getting medical attention form...where ever he was. All he could see was the ceiling of the entry way and part of the main hall behind the girl as she pinned him down on the floor. He knew better then fight with medical help.

Still, it was disconcerting to be helped up by someone his own age. What kind of place was this?

Soon, another girl came running down the grand staircase and rushed to his side. She ripped open a fist aid kit and began to look around his wound...but not quite with her eyes. She was simply placed a hand over his flowing wound, and somehow knew what she was doing.

At the mention of a belt to bite down on, the first girl ripped up her suitcase, and began throwing clothes over her shoulder. Finally she found a belt. and unceremoniously shoved it in his mouth. Just seconds before she military girl shoved a needle-nose pliers into his leg...

He screamed, hindered only by belt he was biting down on. Even in all the bullet wounds he had endured, everyone still hurt. He bucked and screamed as the girl dug in his leg. His leg spasm around the foreign object probing his leg muscle. He gritted his teeth hard into the leather belt, trying hard not to let go, and bite down on his tongue. Tears streamed down his face, even though, for some archaic reason buried deep in his blood, he wanted to appear strong in front of these women. His body lashed out, writhing underneath the imposing mass of the girl pinning him down.

Out of pure instinct, forged by years on the streets, his body began to flicker, slightly in and out of existence. It wasn't a lot, his mass was still there, but it was he was shifting slightly out of the way of photons, falling halfway into the slipstream. However, without any focus, he was quickly shunted back into the real world. He hovered halfway between her and Neverland.

Finally, the bullet was out, and Jacob afforded a gasp of relief. He settled down, both power-wise and physically. The woman down by his leg began to heal his wound, using some sort of energy from her fingers. But Jacob couldn't hear it...

All he heard was the echoy scream of a young woman in his mind, reverberating off his soul. All he had to say was one word...

"Anna..."

Jayson couldn't think of what to do next. The only thing that seemed to make sense was to put pressure on the wound. This could prove just as bad as doing nothing. Putting direct pressure on a gun wound could cause worse to happen. She did not know there was a bullet hidden in the blood. She just saw the gushing. She felt compelled to stop it. Thank goodness the need to call someone had been felt. If not, this poor young man could have died in her company. The bleeding would not stop.

If Shina hadn't shown when she did then, then maybe there wouldn't have been anyone to save. Ever since ShadowX Jayson knew of Shina's military training. Jayson went into action as soon as the orders were given. Today it was absent. When wearing jeans she usually wore a belt, but when flying she wanted to have a feeling of comfort. So the belt was stowed in her suitcase. He needed something to bite done on. A belt would would sturdy enough. Without care she tore apart her suitcase. She didn't even bother to unlock it. The lock broke too easily. The belt was found and shoved (kindly) into the guy's mouth. So far this stranger would owe her one sweater and one belt. Though, she wouldn't think of his paying her back until later.

Holding him down was common sense. He would be in pain but even the slightest movement would cause more pain. Simple logic which posed a problem for her. Even now she was aware of her mutant ability. Turning him to stone would either be life saving or life ending. The effects of it weren't studied too much and not every person reacted the same. He could have a heart attack the moment his stone facade melted to human flesh. Jayson's only choice was to take hold of his elbows making sure his arms were straight and push them tightly against his sides. For added measure she further held him down by turning her own elbows in and pressing them against his oblique muscles. This was awkward in grip and, if this wasn't a serious circumstance, position.

The bullet, of course, had been a surprise. She stared at it. Like some, most in her concern, she disliked guns. It explained the bleeding. Against his muffled cries of pain she continued to hold him in place. Not even flinching if he did struggle to get free. Her strength would be hard to match expect by those stronger than her. She just feared he would touch her skin. Her gloves ended two inches below her elbows. Her long sleeved sweater was discarded and bloodied. When Shina began to heal him alls she could do was to be thankful. This young man would live. He'll be in pain but he would live.

And then he spoke just one word.

"Anna?" she questioned. Not sure whether she should say anymore Jayson decided to anyways. Talking calmed people. It kept them focused. Yet would it be right? She didn't know how he got into the mansion or how he got the bullet wound. "I know a Anna. She's on my team."

Shina and Jane were impressed. Firstly, she knew he was a mutant, but he couldn’t really tell what type, but the young man had endured quite a bit of pain, and even through all the kicking and screaming, he hadn’t fainted or had any other serious problems. Once the bullet was out and she started healing, her vision scoured the rest of the boys body for any additional wounds. Finding no active ones. He would live through this wound… After about a full minute, the final bits of his flesh re-grew, using her directed beam of blue energy, and she was done. A her forehead gleamed for a moment at the beginnings of sweat, and Jane quickly brought her forearm across her head, wiping it away.

Using her energy to heal took a lot out of her… but it was getting better slowly with practice. It wasn’t like her vision, something she had been doing all her life… it was new. Regardless, she stood up, and held a slightly bloody hand to help the young man up. “You are a little low on blood, but unless you want an IV, I suggest you just drink some water and eat something to replace it.” Her voice was almost soft… easy and pleasing.

“Thanks for the assist Jayson.” Then she went on to address the other little detail. “Anna? Yea, I know where she’s at, but I have to ask, who are you? Why are you asking for her?” These were important questions. She wanted to ask quite a few more, but Shina had stopped her. Of all people, Jane wondered why she wasn’t practically screaming at her to ask how the guy got here, where he was from, what he wanted… etc… but no, she actually just wanted the guy to have some space.

Taking a step back, she kneeled, picking up the bits and pieces that had fallen out of her IFAK when she opened it. It was weird… she didn’t even need the guaze, and as such, she started using it to clean up the blood from her hands and the floor. Scott would have kittens if it stained something… and that made her smile. Shina didn’t like to tread on his toes, but for some reason, Jane had this desire to bug him to see if he would ever lighten up a little. She had yet to see him smile…

“Hey… I would suggest grabbing some stuff to clean that up. I’ll keep an eye on him for now.” She gestured for the pool of blood, noting that there wasn’t really any towels nearby. “Talk to me, kid… because I am not taking you anywhere until we get some answers.”

Jacob dragged air in between his teeth. His leg was healed, thanks to this..mutant he guessed. He knew well enough that this wasn't a human doctor. It wasn't as though he was prejudice against mutants, It was just that common fear of the unknown. If this girl could heal, what else could she do to him.

He looked up at the girl holding him down, that had found him in the first place. A weak smile crossed his face, mainly from the blood loss leaving him tired beyond belief. But also because she had saved him. An act like that touches with someone forever.

"Anna?" He said, as the two girls inquired him in their own way. "I-I don't remember..." He said slowly. Saying the name again had stirred something behind his breastbone. It was an echo of a memory within him, but he couldn't hear the original sound. "I don't know an 'Anna'..."

But as soon as he said that, he knew...he believed that he was wrong. At that slight trigger, a childhood memory floated to the surface. It was of him, barely three years old, playing in the backyard. There was another kid with him, a girl the same age. Someone very special to him...

"Anana?" he said, but as soon as he did, the memory burst in his mind, leaving him with a child's garbled name on his lips and even more questions. "Who's that? Who's Anna? Why do i know her?" He said, trying to sit up. But his arms failed him and he flopped right back into his blood pool staining the hardwood of the entryway.

It was a relief when Shina finished healing the young man. Jayson was surprised that Shina could actually heal. She knew about the energies Shina saw and her military training. Jayson had figured she'd just stall the bleeding until someone else arrived. Anyways, besides fatigue he would be alright. He just needed rest now. "Shina, I'm going to take him to the infirmary. You may continue your questioning there," Jayson said taking her ground.

Before she had asserted herself Shina mentioned about the blood. Her boss could have kittens if this had been some crazy prank. Even so the blood needed to be cleaned up. If someone saw it then there would really be trouble. Actually, since an announcement had been made over the PA then it would be expected to have massive amount of blood in the doorway. Now if a guest showed up randomly then there would be a problem. The contents of her suitcase were all over the entrance way. On the bottom step of the grand staircase laid a discarded bathing towel for beach use. Sighing she laid it over the main pool of blood. It would do for now even though red splotches immediately appeared. There had been a lot of blood. "I'll clean it up after I bring him to the infirmary. You may escort us and keep watch until a teacher shows up or another X-men, if you want."

Jayson went over toward the young man. She would find out later that his name was Jacob. For now she did not demand any information from him. "I'm no expert but he may be going into shock." As she crouched down next to Jacob she pulled a few strands of blonde hair behind her right ear. Blood transfered to them. She hadn't realized her gloves were soaked through by his blood. As soon as it stared to dry, to crust, then she would realize. "I'm going to pick you up and carry you to the infirmary," she told him in a kind voice close to the one she would use for her step-cousins. "There you you will be informed on Anna as you tell us who you are and why you are here. Shina will stay with you until someone else arrives. Won't you Shina?"

The conclusion was reached by the way Shina had addressed her questions to Jacob. Shina was going to watch this stranger regardless. Jayson would go back to clean up the entrance way properly with the right chemicals if she could locate them. Right after she was going to soak in the bathtub. Like she had done with Faye last year, Jayson picked Jacob up. Making sure that he didn't touch her skin, she cradled him by putting one arm under his knees and the other about mid-back. If he hadn't been healed then he wouldn't have been moved.

Allowing Shina to lead Jayson carried Jacob all the way to the infirmary. On the way, before they got to the elevator, students had started to head for the entrance way. "There is nothing to see there," she said to them. What surprised her the most was the absence of teachers or other X-men. Logically, the injured would be moved to the infirmary if they were able to be moved without creating more damage. If teachers did show up they would eventually make their way there. Once there Jayson laid Jacob down on a free bed. "I need to gather my things in the entrance way and finish cleaning up." She left the infirmary before anyone could stop her. Probably this was the wrong course of action, but any question needing to be answered she would do so later.
