Leech has been at the mansion ever since the tragedy of the flood has occured. For the entire time he has been there, he has been with his friend Artie and has, through Artie, been introduced to some of the other students. Leech has grown comfortable in the Mansion. He sees other mutants using their powers comfortably with their fellow classmates and he wants to know what it's like.

Leech has decided to reveal his own power and though some know what it is, they have not experienced what his power can do to them.

It's meant to be a single thread with as many students who are curious to the albino boy's power revealed.

Basic idea of the thread: How does your character act when they are completely depowered?

Would they feel a longing to remain as a normal person in society? Will they be disgusted with Leech's ability? Some people might not be comfortable with the idea that someone can take away their powers and some might be.

How will you react?

Jane was bored. Normally, this wouldn’t be much of an issue, as she was more lighthearted, and would easily confide in a puzzle, maybe work out some more… perhaps even watch a movie. She would have no issue doing this on almost a constant basis, and if it were completely up to her that is likely what she would be doing right now. But no… instead, she walked towards Mr. Grey-Summers office, her stride casual but not slow. Jane was in control, that much was certain, but she also seemed… annoyed. Annoyed was usually reserved for Shina, so to say it was unusual was an understatement.

Shina watched from within, her eyes closed, as his door came into view. Not of her own volition, but her vision surpassed the door and found the man she was seeking, his massive energy trying its best to seep through his glasses and destroy everything in the man’s sight. His knowledge was impressive, both being a leader and a mentor to hundreds of people… and she wondered how he was able to maintain himself. His beautiful wife was likely the how… considering she was probably able to relax the man in more ways than any normal wife could, as well as all the effective conventional ways.

Jane was wearing a pair of tan cargo shorts and a simple form-fitting grey camo tank-top which pronounced ‘Army Strong’ on the back. Jane liked things that accented her curves a little, but knew she had to compromise with Shina for their attire, considering either of them could be in control at any time. Having a sister inside your head was annoying, and it complicated things… but Jane honestly liked having Shina around… she never felt alone.

She noted Scott didn’t have anyone else in his office, so hopefully things would work out well… Jane wasn’t here because she was bored, she was here because Shina was bored. Of course, Shina had explained it to her with her own twist on it to sound professional, but Jane hadn’t been able to simply ignore her like she wanted. Instead, Shina had bugged her almost constantly until eleven in the morning, and she had gotten sick of it and relented. Still, if she had an issue, she would prefer that Shina deal with it, instead of making her deal with it.

Secretly, this was Shina’s way of trying to toughen Jane up. Dealing with a man like Scott required a little bit of grit, and a bit of thick skin… and that was something that Shina felt that Jane needed to develop. Shina had all the grit and thick skin one would ever need, but Shina didn’t want Jane to rely on her all the time to deal with situations that required those things. Being able to rely on you was something she felt was a very strong point, and something that anyone should be able to do. Granted, the situation was a little different, but her point was still valid.

Shina also knew she needed to work on her finesse, but at least she recognized that, and was working on it. It was that finesse that made Jane the better healer… she was more careful… more caring. She had that special way of getting along with just about anyone, and being the optimist of the pair. Granted, Shina doubted highly she would ever be as light hearted and optimistic, but she could at least develop it enough to pass any ‘test’ she might encounter in the real world.

Jane stopped short of the door, tilting her neck to each side quickly, a sharp crack from her neck popping ringing in her ear. ~You shouldn’t do that… it’s wearing out the cartilage in are neck…~ Shina sneered, annoyed. -Hey… it feels better afterwards, so can it.- Jane retorted. With her clenched fist, she made three sharp knocks, and waited.

"Yes, Fury," Scott said, speaking into the bluetooth earpiece, while he worked over his keyboard, inputting the data the Director of Shield had been feeding him for the better part of an hour. The conversation had been delivered in clipped words and stilted sentences, neither man big on the idle chit chat and chatter of most people of even a modest acquaintance, "No, it makes sense, and I'm glad we can come to this agreement. No... no, sir, that's all been handled. Yes, yes, makes perfect sense... No, I think I have everything I need, honestly. We appreciate your working with us, Director Fury, with Magneto's return and the negative press we've gotten, this is just one less thing we have to worry about, and the situation is being handled on our en-"

Three sharp knocks interrupted his words and he frowned, double checking his schedule. No one had made an appointment, which could only mean this was going to be either a complaint or an issue that was going to require him to show some of his legendary compassion and generosity.... probably the complaint.

"I have a matter to attend to, Fury, we'll have to continue this later, if that's possible," Scott said, and at Fury's grunt of acknowledgment the two men hung up, neither offering a goodbye in parting. Just not their way.

"Come in," Scott called, closing the file on his computer that they had been working on. It might have been nonsense to anyone who looked at it, but it was very much not.

“Come in,”

With that, she turned the knob, her hand already grasping it. Her hearing, enhanced from her lack of physical sight, had allowed her to hear the conclusion of a conversation with a man that her father knew well… Nick Fury. SHIELD director. One of the most powerful men in the military to date, regardless of his rank. There was no one else that could possibly be named ‘Fury’ here… not that she knew of. Still, that wasn’t her concern, and although she certainly wouldn’t forget it any time soon, it wasn’t her place to pry… It was his business.

Walking in, she paused, noting the Bluetooth in his ear. Phone communication with Bluetooth technology was common, but it sometimes made you seem a little geeky. Jane wanted one once, but Shina had refused to allow it, and that argument giving her a headache that just wouldn’t go away, for both of them. That was an experience she did not want to deal with again, so the girls had learned compromise very quickly.

“Hey Scott. I know you’re busy, so I will try to make this quick and painless.” Jane would like to make small talk, would like to get to know Scott a little better, but that wouldn’t work… that much was certain. Firstly, Shina wouldn’t allow any hesitation, she insisted that Jane get right to the point, and secondly, Scott wasn’t the ‘small talk’ type. That much she knew.

“I… we… need something to do. I know we got classes and all that, but it doesn’t really work for Shina. We need something constructive… like teaching, or… something. I am kinda content with simply going to college classes that I haven’t already got under my belt, and they are fun, but Shina isn’t really the student type. You know our skills… isn’t there somewhere that we can put them to good use? Mechanics, Strategy, Physical Fitness… anything?” The question was simple and to the point, but it carried meaning… and it was obvious. Shina wanted something to do… and something that would have meaning…

Scott tucked the bluetooth away, not knowing that the girl(s) would consider him geeky for wearing it and not caring if they did. It was modified to hook over the ear piece of his glasses and to connect into his earcuff when he was earing his visor. There were unique problems to his particular power manifestation and his innate engineering skills particularly regarding the technologies required to make himself a more prepared soldier. He was never above adapting the newest innovations to his own use. Hell, the Blackbird was the most obvious example, but even his cars and his motorcycle were not standard off the line.

"Sit down, Jane," Scott said, once the young woman had made her speech, and made her request for a goal. He waved to the chair in front of his desk, watching her carefully from behind his red lenses. It never failed to amaze him that there were so many people in the world, much less in this school, without direction. He had, in the nineteen years since waking up from the year long coma after falling from his parents' burning aircraft with his brother, had two very specific goals. First it was to get his life under control so that he could gain guardianship of his brother and have some semblance of family and normal life, and then when his mutation made that clearly impossible, his goals changed to making it as normal a life as possible, but no longer for just him, but for his people, to make them equal citizens by not only protecting them from the world, from themselves, from those who would exploit their powers... He had never been without direction. He didn't understand those who were.

"First of all, let me tell you that what you have done here has been showing great progress." Scott told her, "It concerns me though that you don't have enough interest in your own future though to choose a direction for yourself, that how am I supposed to know where to point you? I wouldn't want to send you down the wrong pathway."

Jane sat.

“But honestly what have we done? Shina has trained TM how to use his powers a little better, shown him a little bit of control… we have brought a little excitement to the training sessions, taken some classes…” she paused, mentally adding ~Been Used…~ “But in the big picture, we honestly haven’t done hardly anything. As far as us goes, we can’t train properly. Physically, we can, and we do… but I can’t really train my powers unless I have real opponents. The Danger Room is awesome, I won’t lie, but it can’t simulate biological energy… and are tactics and strategy training can’t really be run just on a whim… it requires people too.” Suddenly, their stance changed, her tone, and it was obvious the switch.

“Frankly Sir, I need something to do. I PT every day, sometimes several times a day, but that doesn’t fulfill my desire to make a difference. I know you have a million things to do, so let me take a couple off your hands. I know that my ranking in the school doesn’t show it, but I lead by example… I help others… and that is my future. You send me down the wrong path, so be it, at least it prevents you from sending someone who couldn’t handle it down that path.” Her tone was strong, but it certainly wasn’t disrespectful. Shina had mastered the technique of getting her point across in a strong manner without coming off disrespectful in the least.

“I know that right now things aren’t exactly in order… despite your efforts, this institute will probably always be in some sort of chaos… I have accepted that, and work with it. I want to put my skills to good use… apply them in some way.” With a smile, she paused, looking at Scott through his ruby covering and directly into his eyes, her blind eyes glowing blue with eagerness. “You are the leader, but let me help you. You don’t have to be the only one holding up these walls, but you have to be willing to let someone help you first.” The statement was nothing more than from a former leader of troops to another, an offer to help. Shina didn’t really care how she helped, but the knowledge that she was.

Scott frowns at her complaints about the Danger Room and he said, "You are a member of a team, Shina, and you should be participating in team exercises. With the amount of students here in this school, it is required that each individual student make the effort to set up sparring schedules with their team mates if extra training is required. You're an adult and of an age where I would assume no one has to hold your hand, particularly with your extensive training. Contact members of your team, or perhaps other teams and set up your own extra curriculars if that'll help you, but you have it incorrect. It might not be pure biological energy, but the Danger Room can produce human signatures that are virtually identical in energy spectrums. They've been used in emergency situations and for other students with powers that require biologically based detections. I would rather you practice with the LMDs, the life model decoy programs which were developed by SHIELD and designed to fool even Dr. Doom's methods of detecting real from fake. If you have a better detection system than Dr. Doom's, I'd love to see it."

He shuffled some things around on his desk in response to her speech about helping him, and he wondered idly if she had any idea who the hell she was talking to. In fifteen years at this school, Scott Summers had been told he carried too much of the weight on his own shoulders and if his wife and his best friends couldn't get him to share the load, a snowball had more of a chance in hell than Shina Schwarz did at convincing him to lighten up.

"I think, actually, there might be something you can do, at that," Scott said, his eyes lighting on a note from Warren written in his lazy but still elegant loops, even his pen strokes somehow conveying the feeling of flight. "Warren is starting a project he calls X-Corp, and he needs able bodies and minds to be involved. I would suggest you speak to him about that. I don't have any real details but from what I do understand, it would be something that might satisfy your urge for productivity."

“A member of a team, that much you are right about… however… it doesn’t feel right asking if a few of the kids want to go spar. Granted, I know most of them would give me a run for my money using their powers… but the actual approach doesn’t get any less awkward. Let’s face it… I’m not a kid, in body or at heart. I also don’t have the authority anymore… and Warren isn’t always easy to find.” With a sigh, she paused, and addressed the other issue.

“As far as the Danger Room goes… they simulate energy, but I can’t drain artificial energy, or I would just drain a power outlet… my power doesn’t work like that. As far as the LMDs… I haven’t seen them. I wouldn’t mind taking a look, so if that can be arranged, great.” Pausing, she reflected on what she was saying.

“Don’t take this as me complaining… regardless of its appearance… that isn’t what I am trying to do. I am trying to be productive, and it doesn’t seem like I am to me.” That said, she listened as he made his proposition. “X-Corp? Sounds like the marines, but I am sure that wasn’t the intent. I will speak to him about that. Thanks, and sorry about the raving. Frustration is something that I don’t like when I can’t control the circumstances around them.”

With that Jane took back over, Shina receding within her own mind and taking a step back, essentially. “Thanks… she’s been bugging me about that for days.” Jane’s stance relaxed as it normally did when she was in control, but something was different… she still had her back straight, she wasn’t slumping. Something about her was just… different. “Anyhow, on another note, I wanted to say thanks… Shina isn’t the easiest to live with, but you have endured so much more since I have been here. I don’t really know how else to say it… but… good job.”

With that, she stood, smiled, and turned to leave.

"I would suggest you get over your awkwardness, then, Miss Schwarz," Scott said, looking pointedly at the woman. "I am not entirely comfortable with your siphoning biological energies, harmful or not, and so I am not going to assign you people to spar with. If you want to prove to me as well as to yourself that you have the ability to become productive around here, I would think it is time for you to start showing initiative and proactivity. As a soldier you are accustomed to talking orders, but as much as I would like it to be sometimes, this isn't the military, and so I need you to start showing that you are capable of improvisation and working within a less rigid, though still structured team dynamic."

She rose and thanked him, preparing to leave and he rose as well, noticing the change in her demeanor that suggested she had shifted personalities. As much as he sometimes wished that Scott and Cyclops were separate entities, they were not and sometimes there was no real difference between them. This use of multiple personal disorder as a funny little quirk made very little sense to him, but in the now nearly sixteen years since his eyes opened into something evolved, he had learned to accept many things he didn't understand. Didn't make him happy, didn't make him comfortable, but he had learned to accept.

"Talk to Warren, I'm sure he can be of more assistance that me." He said, waving off her thanks. No one tended to thank Scott for talking to them, and he didn't really notice that until someone did. He was never really all that comfortable with it.

Shina mentally swore… she was being misinterpreted. “Honestly, she’s not too comfortable with siphoning biological energy either. That is the entire reason it is awkward for her… We can’t expect someone to train with us when our power is obviously invasive… and because the Danger Room can’t give biological energy, the training it provides in the area of are power isn’t realistic..” That being said, she relaxed. “All she wants is some kind of challenge… I think. Hand to hand, I doubt highly she could be matched by anyone but Logan, and we still haven’t figured out who would win there… but my money is on Logan.” The mental equivalent of Jane being slugged was issued, and she simply grinned.

She couldn’t help it… Jane kinda liked the feral.

Regardless, she stretched, and pushed those thoughts from her mind. “Alright, I’ll give him a jingle. I hope that one of these days we will finally give you a good example of what we can do… because training exercises isn’t where we shine… its during the stress of combat that you might find us a little more useful. I am sure that it will come around eventually, and trust me, I am working on her becoming… less linear.” With that, she slowly turned around, smiling, and walked out the door.

Instinctively she sent a strong pulse through the school, searching for the winged mutant. Both of them were curious to see what the X-Corps objectives were. Shina, in her own sense, wanted nothing more than to find something more productive… she had even considered joining X-Factor’s ranks… seeing that they do a little more than teach kids and occasionally deal with large issues. Jane on the other hand… she had reasons to stick around… and she smirked slightly at the thought of the feral.

Shina began to mentally tease her, saying it was nothing than a stupid crush. Jane retorted that it wasn’t even that much, and as such, the bickering mental argument began. It was fun to bicker with your sister without anyone else asking questions.
