Okay, some of you will probably remember Blake's proposed idea of X-Corporation and having his character run for Mayor etc, which obviously got abandoned when he jumped ship. I'd like to bring back the X-Corporation section of it as something Warren starts in Mutant Town. It's already been mentioned a few times but now I'm really going to start building it up. Here is the basic information: I’m not suggesting that X-Corporation become a faction in it’s own right, but simply something that runs in the background and can be used when needed. Perhaps the students can volunteer to work their and in the Community Centre at weekends or something similar. Aim: Initially beginning in Mutant Town, the X-Corporation deals with providing support to the general mutant population and will eventually, hopefully, spread to other cities and other countries. Blake suggested having a building in New York and one in Vienna, I was thinking we begin with one and then can add more in later depending on if this works out or not. The organisation works in conjunction with the local government to ensure that mutant rights are protected e.g. in canon they worked with social services in LA to look after a mutant child. It works on a more political and social level than the X-Men and X-Factor, dealing with reforming Mutant Town, getting the community involved in raising the living conditions of the area while preserving the spirit. The whole thing will be linked with the Mutant Town Community Centre and of course X-Factor, both of whom are more of a grass roots movement, but if all three team up and liaise with the local government with the intention of improving mutant right and bringing about social change they will achieve more and also address the broad spectrum of society represented within Mutant Town. They will be attempting to integrate themselves to some extent from humans and the rest of New York. While mutant rights are their main concern, they are still affiliated with the X-Men and will therefore be following the basic principles of Xavier’s Dream, just in a more proactive way. In regards to funding etc, it will come from Warren and fund-raising. He’ll be siphoning off money from his company to fund as much of this project as possible, so for now money is no object. Characters Involved: Jean Warren Max X-Factor? Those who expressed interest in Blake’s plot: Lux Ari Alix Quicksand Violey Those who have so far expressed in interest in this version of X-Corp: Jet Dead Girl Ari Callisto Enough ramble from me. Suggestions, comments, criticism etc would be most welcome. We’re hoping to launch X-Corp in mid-August game time, which I know is back tracking a little bit, but we want to get it established before Warren drops off the radar. There is currently a thread here which anyone can jump into if they're interested in helping clear up the Community Centre and talk with Warren and Jean. Another thread will go up as a kind of recruitment thread, which will be either OC or IC, not entirely sure about that. Anyone can join if they think theyre character would be interested in promoting mutant rights and hanging around Mutant Town, doing some good deeds. Sign up here if you're interested and then we'll start working out threads and plots etc. |

I wish for Violey to still take part in this. Mittens will be a volunteer though Xavier's for the community center. For a short time (as of now) Lou's a resident in Mutant Town as she's taking sabbatical from the mansion. Need to figure out details (and start postin') but someway she'll be involved but not too seriously. Maybe she'll just help out at the community center as well. |

http://www.gotoquiz.com/what_american_accent_do_you_have "You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio. LIES! I'm from the great lakes region. And yes, I DO say pop for soda. My second closest is the Inland north, which is actually the right one I believe... *sigh* |

You definitely have a Boston accent, even if you think you don't. Of course, that doesn't mean you are from the Boston area, you may also be from New Hampshire or Maine. I'm not nor ever have been to Boston. Or New Hampshire. Or Maine. Or anything further north than the Georgia state line. Grew up in Miami. We (well, the born Americans) have no 'accent', per se. We speak American Standard, the accent you hear on national news programs and such. And people have accents in Atlanta. WTF is that quiz talking about? Annnnnd I really ought to be posting. >.> |

Your Result: The Inland North You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop." O_O |

"North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot. Well, interesting considering that I AM Canadian...hell I don't even know what a Minnesota accent sounds like anyway...lol And what's soda got to do with anything. I've never in my life called any sort of soft drink "soda"...its always been pop. lol Soda sounds so proper to me. ...Either way, I do believe this quiz be flawed |

Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop." ~~~ Your Result: The South That's a Southern accent you've got there. You may love it, you may hate it, you may swear you don't have it, but whatever the case, we can hear it. ~~~ I got both results. Inland North came up first. The South is 'bout the same. And I call 'pop' soda. When in Florida, I said fountain drinks after awhile 'cuz not everyone knew soda as soda. Soda pop works as well (but i don't say it). |

Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot. Uh. . . no, not at all. I have that really generic "neutral" accent that actors always have to force themselves into. I'm from NH. I don't sound at all like someone from Boston, I don't say aygs instead of eggs, and I pronounce my 'R's without a problem. Silly people. Second time around: "You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas.
