Prisoners will be referred to by their assigned numbers. Prisoners will automatically be registered and upon release will be automatic volunteers for the null chip program upon release. Aside from PCs, there are 198 prisoners assigned to the facility. Guards are on 3 rotating 8-hour shifts: Mornings (1-15), Evenings (15-23), and Graveyards (23-7) The staff of the CAGE consists of approximately 700 men and women. 25 LMDs. In an effort to keep uniformity, all prisoners will wear the same orange jumpsuits except for those in cell block E, who will be wearing scrubs made from a paper-like material. The heads of all inmates will be shaved regardless of gender. Contraband will be allowed, but will only be allowed to those in good standing and are 'purchased' with points given for good behavior. The prison is two and a half years old. Before that, the CAGE was a less sufficient version located in the Western American dessert, built in 1995. Larry Trask is secretly a mutant precog, but based on who his father was and his own background and stance on mutants, he has managed to avoid detection. No one aside from himself and his father is aware of his genetic condition and he plans to keep it that way. Larry's theory is that mutants on a whole are cruel. According to him, evolution tends to weed out human ideals like love, compassion, and joy so that future species are better equiped to survive in an increasingly competitive environment. Man is crueler than apes. Mutant is crueler than man. However, in order to deal with mutants, people like him have to stoop to their level to communicate with them. He believes that they only respond to violence and dominance – this is especially true for mutant criminals. However, he believes that as with every generalization, there are exceptions and believes that he is one of them. The government supports Trask's stance on mutants in regards to criminals and it is one of the reasons he has been put in charge of the CAGE. He still has to answer to his superiors who feel that the prisoners should still be treated with a certain amount of human dignity, but they would rather have an aggressive attack dog on a tight leash rather than one who would be too lenient for such an important position. Trask and Fury do not get along and do not see eye to eye with how to deal with the explosive situation of the CAGE. Unfortunately, some of Fury's superiors prefer to have Larry as direct supervisor. Many of the guards have prejudice or hatred toward mutants to some degree or another. However some of them really don't care one way or another. The staff on the CAGE has done their best to determine that no prison guard or security operator has any mutant sympathies. A team of psychologists and psychiatrists are employed on the raft and are on call around the clock. They regularly see guards and prisoners alike and even engage in group sessions with many of the inmates. The cells are rooms 10' wide and 15' deep. They consist of a cot attached to a wall. A drawer containing one toothbrush, a tube of toothpaste, two changes of underwear, two pairs of clean socks, and two extra jumpsuits. Attached to the opposite wall is a toilet and a sink. Each prisoner is issued one roll of toilet paper a week. Solitary consists of 50 cells lined with a noise reduction material caked between two layers of concrete. Prisoners are stripped of their clothes and thrown in there with the door shut for however long their sentence is – anywhere from three days to three or more weeks. While in solitary, they are fed bread and water twice a day. While guard brutality is punished, sometimes the guards just won't notice. A guard caught forcing himself on someone sexually will get him fired from his position and jailed. It's happened before... twice. The cafeteria, exam rooms, infirmary, processing, and all the other stuff is on the second floor. The main holding area is on the first floor. The CAGE's flight controls and living quarters is on the first floor. Since 1997, there have been three major gangs running with what little freedom they have. They are: Gene Nation LD50 The Sayans Every gang has those good boys who can get the most contraband. These are their suppliers and it's how most of the gangs get their “currency”. Despite the fact that they are under extremely careful guard and have had their powers stripped from them, the prisoners are still considered extremely dangerous and while excessive force and violence will be dealt with, a certain amount of aggression focused on their fellow prisoners is acceptable to the guards. It keeps them from being the focus of that aggression. First strike crowd control is a sonic-based alarm that when activated blasts a loud, deafening noise for 30 seconds. The decibel level is 120. This is to subdue possible widespread fighting and to reduce the risk of riots. Guards are issued with special headphones for this reason. Note: More information will be posted over time and some of the information up is subject to change. |

Gene Nation Gene Nation is the mutant equivalent of the Aryan Brotherhood. They stand for the purity and growth of the mutant race and have a bitter, if not violent, contempt for humanity. The majority of its members are deformed mutants who have experienced terrible prejudice from their human counter-parts. These mutants are now vengeful, their philosophies dictating their actions: the human race is being replaced by a stronger, better, and more perfect species. Gene Nation believes itself to be the foundation and most pure of the mutant race. The members of Gene Nation see all those mutants who appear human the weaker end of the species. Those who have betrayed their humanistic views are seen as brothers. Gene Nation members have no problem killing humans. They think them a plague or a scourge in a world that is rightfully, by the course of evolution, theirs. A new species is always born to replace the old, such is the case with Neanderthal and Cromagnum to Homo sapien. Now, this new species, Homo superior, has been born and is destined to control all of the planet. There is no sub-category for mutants, no individual race. Mutants are mutants, mutants are Homo superior. Homo superior, like its name states, is superior to Homo sapiens. Although Gene Nation does consider true mutants to be those who do not normally appear like humans, they are not above integrating human-appearing mutants into their Nation. Members of Gene Nation include: Vessel - Considered leader of Gene Nation in CAGE. Vessel is a large, green prisoner whose mutant ability is to absorb physical and psychic residue from the deceased to increase his size, strength, durability, resistance to injury, and a super-human healing factor. He is arrogant, brash, and forceful. NPC. Sack - Middle member of Gene Nation. Fever Pitch - A mutant whose body is composed of organic flame surrounding a skeleton, capable of projecting intense heat and fire. Fever Pitch is currently in solitary. On personality, Fever Pitch is not called Fever Pitch just because it sounds cool. He's loud like a banshee. NPC. It is likely that a majority of mutants in the prison who have mutations that alter their appearance belong to Gene Nation. |

LD50
LD50 aren’t looking to prove anything by making some sort of statement, they don’t have strict rules or regulations, and they certainly aren’t trying to protect anyone or maintain some jaded sense of superiority. It’s about taking back power and control in a place where both of those ideals have been snatched away. They’re the psychos, the murderers, the sick-minded fucks who’ve just let themselves go, and don’t give a damn what anyone has to say about the way they think or do things. They don’t discriminate between human, or mutant, or whatever the hell makes up someone’s genes… they aren’t looking for a rhyme or reason behind why they do what they do or what makes them tick; they’re the scum of the earth and they know it, and most of them have embraced their darker natures. As far as they’re concerned, the CAGE is theirs. You want any sort of foothold in the prison; they’re the people to go to. They’ve dug their heels in and they ain’t going anywhere… they aren’t stupid, they know they’re here for the long haul, so they’ve set up camp and claimed their turf. Their requirements for joining the ranks are that you have assaulted a guard and done the time in solitary, and that you aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty; you’ll have a group of psychopaths watching your back, but a word of warning… once you’re in, its practically impossible to get out. Members of LD50 include: Crule – Purple-skinned, completely insane, Crule is his namesake, mean and spiteful. His powers include enhanced senses, strength, speed, agility, reflexes, coordination, balance, endurance, fangs, and when braided he can use his hair as whips. He is the current leader of LD50. NPC. Shatter – Sporting a deep crater in the side of his face due to a failed suicide attempt, Shatter has the ability to crystallise liquids into solids, has an accelerated healing factor, and a crystal body. NPC. Mindworm – An older, incredibly intelligent prisoner with an oversized cranium, who has the ability to leech thoughts and emotions from those around him, eventually resulting in death. He can also cause brain damage, invade dreams, read minds and mentally command others. NPC. Blackout – Middle member, edging his way towards the top… doesn’t particularly care about the gang system, he sees it as more of a game. Landshark – A known cannibal, Landshark is a violent and insatiable mutant with an enhanced gastro-intestinal track that allows him to eat anything. At any chance he gets, he is known to lash out and attempt to take a bite out of guards or mutants with his shark-like mouth. His cell is covered with broken teeth and bitemarks and must be cleaned every day. NPC. |

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, several KGB officers took their cache of mutant agents into hiding. They were communist hardliners, and a threat to the new Russian state. By request of Boris Yeltsin, S.H.I.E.L.D tracked down and arrested these threats. These Russian “Soopyermyen” banded together as the Sayans, named after a mountain range in Siberia, where many of them were stationed. The goal of the Sayans was to thumb their noses at the “capitalist overlords” by starting their own Marxist revolution right there in the prison. The Sayans have evolved to be the protector of the weak in the prison. They do this because they view their fellow prisoners not as villains but as victims of an unfair society. Or at least, that was the original idea. The Sayans have become the natural fit for inmates who aren’t psychopaths like the LD-50s or freaks like the Gene Nation. They are now more concerned with protection of their own than any Marxist-Leninist ideals. Westerners now make up a greater percentage of the group, though it is still led by one of the original Soviet agents. Members: Secretariat Ursa Major: KGB Agent in charge, his devotion to the original cause is still strong. Despite his age, he is still a physical threat. Trained in the KGB's own martial art, known as Systema. Zeitgeist: An American and Mikhail’s chief lieutenant. Colossus: An X-Man that left the Institute to bury his family. He was captured and detained by Hydra while still at home and spent a significant amount of time before managing to escape, destroying the facility and killing 48 or more guards and scientist under the joint employ of Hydra and the FSB. Spending a few weeks on the run, he was caught in mid September of 2008 and has been in the CAGE since. He has reluctantly aligned himself with the Sayans as it is the gang he has the least amount of issues with. Even though he is depowered, while in prison, Piotr's strength and physical fitness still pushes the human peak, making him one of the most formidable threats in the prison. However, he prefers to find other ways to solve problems rather than resorting to violence. |
