I was thinking that might be a neat idea to keep some of the information here accessible and usable. I have experience with Media Wiki software and use it for a project me and my friend Gio work on together. We could use it to provide detailed information on plots, environments, characters, and other things. |

I think the administration does a good enough job already keeping track of things on the forum that they don't need a wiki. That'd just give them more work to do. |

The point of a wiki is it isn't just ran by administration. |

what else would we need to keep track of? every member has an application with their ablities/history ect. and all major plots have the planning threads and etc to keep everyone informed of whats going on. the only thing that might be useful, is a more complete history of the "universe" but that can be taken care of with a thread of its own, theres no need to bring in a wiki project just because |

I'm not gonna take a specific side, bu here's an example of a wiki for another RPG: http://x-journal.net/Wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page |

I've actually seen some really, really great wiki pages for rpg's. They look really good and give the sites an extra dimension. The best one I've seen was for a Star Wars forum...uhh here http://www.evolution-rpg.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page Just as an example of what it can be like. However... that being said, yeah, while it being a wiki means that all of us could edit it, setting it up and writing up all the info is going to be a massive work load. The staff... and regular members... are already really busy with current plotlines and real life stuff. I honestly don't know that any of us would be able to put the time in. |

That could be an interesting idea and I think that those interested could go on and do it. I'm slightly interested but right now I do not have the time, nor do I know how to set up something like that. I've never done any kind of editing. I might be able to find time to work up little bios or profiles but I can't promise anything. I think the most effort should be put into the RP itself (after dealing with real life issues and stuff). If working on the wiki page became a problem because people spent more time fiddling with it rather than posting I could see where that would be a major problem. |

That is my concern. There are a lot of people who don't put the effort in as it is |

Yeah. Posting in the game is slow enough without a Wiki taking focus further away. |

That and the fact that most people don’t like doing applications and updating their own history on the applications, so making a Wikipedia for the site, is basically telling everyone to make applications again while trying to figure out how to operate the Wikipedia thing and if people don’t do it, while other people over do it, then the Wiki thing is more of just a promotion for certain characters rather then helpful to the site. |

I really don't see how a wiki would be detrimental to the site. I honestly can't see someone spending hours of their time on it, much less several people doing that. Besides, anyone that crazy/enthusiastic about the site probably has their posts all squared away. So I don't see much threat of increased posting delays. And really, if we're talking about necessity and picking up the slack, we don't really need the cbox or the ooc board. But we have those, and the board functions well enough. And no one's talking about mods or admins having to do it. If they do feel responsible that's their own fault. It's a community thing. There's no apparent downside to having a wiki for the site, and it's kind of a fun thing that adds a little something extra. Plus, I enjoy the wiki search function more than ours. |

In the cbox’s defense it’s a good and quick way to find and set up threads and plots with all the members on the site and such… and that’s my defense and I am sticking to it. |

Not everyone has to participate if it ever happens, but I think it would be a fantastic addition to the site. I have seen a handful of RPGs do it and do it effectively. Also I often find our own search function next to useless. |
