Kimberly and a few of her 'best' friends were lined up on the beach. The beach was of course private, Kimberly's parents had paid a pretty penny to ensure their privacy. And ensured it was. The water was calm outside the occasional rolling wave, and there were no noises outside of those made by the girls; an occasional hysteric giggle or explosion of laughter resulting from jokes made at one of the other girl's expense. Of course jokes were never made at Kimberly, and Kim never made jokes about the others, though when jokes were made she never noticed exactly how harsh and horrible they actually were. She laughed all the same.

It was all nothing to her. Days were easy, and nights were fun. She had only been to the Ashlee in Rome premiere a few months before, and since she had been taking it easy. No concerts, no Albums, no recording. Just Beach sand and friends. This was pre-mutant Kimberly. No cares about the worlds that orbited her own. She had never heard of 'Sentinels' and had never dreamed about the things that happened in Mutant town or Xavier's School. She only cared about her next magazine appearance and holding onto her 'terrific' friends.

Life was easy.

Kimberly laid back while the other girls rushed into the ocean to swim and play. She wasn't much for water lately. It made her feel sick. Bathes, hot tubs, pools, oceans, getting too close made her head hurt. She supposed it was some silly form of sea-sickness or something and never questioned it. She sat up and watched her friends, Ashley, Alexis, Nicole and Tiffany play and talk. It warmed her heart to have such fantastic friends with her on Christmas.

Then Kimberly noticed something. Alexis was missing, and the others were pointing and screaming, Alexis had been pulled away by a Rip Tide and was sinking beneath the water far from the shore. The others couldn't see her. Hell Kimberly couldn't even see her. That did not hinder Kimberly's next move, she bolted in the direction of the sea, her hair fanning out behind her as she ran. She kept running until she connected with the water. She did not sink into the water, she just kept running along the surface of the water until she was a few yards out, right above Alexis. Then she reached down, but found her hands unable to penetrate the glassy surface of the sea. She fell to her knee's and slammed her fists into the water and screamed. Not even considering, yet, that she was sitting on the water.

She stood up and stomped her foot, and Alexis rose to the surface of the water, supported by a geyser of sea-water. Kimberly took her into her arms, barely able to support her weight and carried her to the shore. Kim performed CPR on her friend while the other two just stared at her. Alexis sputtered to life, dazed and confused. Eventually she gasped and asked "Wh-who saved me?"

Tiffany spoke, a evil smirk on her face and a camera in her hand. "Kimberly did, and she walked on water to do it."
