Time of Day: 11:15 AM Place in the Timeline: January 19th It was said about Mikhail that even when he wasn't using his powers, he still was a bear. Those observing him now would be quick to agree with that assessment. He was pacing back and forth, kicking a ball of paper. One of the crazies had torn off his dress and threw it on the ground. In the hustle to get the man contained, the paper dress was forgotten, and as such, Ursus now had something to play with. He was growling. He did not like to wait. After spending a entire lifetime waiting in ration lines, who would? One of the Sayans had most interesting information about some of the fresh fish. They were Magneto's men. Ursa had never met the Master of Magnetism, but he knew of the man. At one time, Professor Phobos was adamant about bringing Magneto into his fold. Magneto understood the need for revolution, and he would be a perfect addition to Phobos' cadre of Soviet Super Soldiers. Phobos' super-intelligence failed him in that train of thought. A man such as Magneto would never bend to the deformed professor's demented whims. Still, Mikhail knew enough about the world that Magneto would be a useful ally to have. He would have to do something to curry favor with the leader of the Brotherhood of Mutants. He coughed, and paced more, waiting for the residents of Cell Block D to come out to the grounds. "Piotr," he barked to one of the newer members of the Sayans, "Get your friend, bring her to me." Major Mikhail Uriokovotich Ursus of the KGB was a man of few words. It was better than way. He did not waste everyone's time talking, like those chatterbox Americans. |

JP BETWEEN RAGE AND COLOSSUS One by one the other cells were let out. Cell A, B,C, going in perfect order from A to F. D cell was next. Her cell. The hazel eyed girl walked out in the line she was fashioned to walk in. Until they reached the grounds. Where all of the other women started to separate and do their own things. Rage ran her hand over her shaven head, once long and dark now sloppily cut for the requirements of the CAGE. The patches of skin and hair unevenly cut. Tina gave a deep breath and walked further into the yard. The Rage Bring was not accustomed to the ways of the prison. Being harassed by others on the grounds was getting progressively familiar. The calls were endless, but she ignored them. Not having been in the CAGE long it was only a matter of time before the other inmates would get annoyed and take it another step forward. The hazel eyed girl looked for an open spot to sit in. Piotr Rasputin did not like being ordered to do anything; after so much time in the Hydra base being told when to eat, when to use the restroom, and when to scream from the pain they had inflicted on him, he had sworn that he would never be barked at again. Unfortunately, this could not be the case yet. Despite his intimidating size and strength, Colossus was still just one man. He could be cut and bleed and even die in such a place; he required friends... or at least allies. And he had found such allies in the Sayans. Welcoming people willing to watch his back and use his talents in the few ways possible, Colossus found himself once again taking orders. This time, however, they were not commands that would slowly kill, but help build a community inside this cockroach motel for survival. It was a sacrifice he was willing to make. “Yes, Mikhail,” he said as he made his way toward D block, making his way through the crowd of women and looking for the little Rage girl... likely one of the only bright spots in this dismal place that he hated so much. How he longed to see the mansion and Scott and Jean and Hank and the others. His heart almost broke at the thought of missing them. Blue eyes scanned the crowd looking for a shaven head in a sea of of them. He could easily stand out among the women inmates, towering over them all, but looking for her was like hunting the proverbial needle. Among the women one stood out, one who was not a woman and massively tall. Piotr. The Russian known as the Colossus. Rage smirked, after their last encounter she considered him to be one of the worthy few to talk with. He looked like he was searching for something, or someone. The hazel eyed girl didn't consider he was searching for her. No one usually did, except for the law. Tina made her way to him keeping the same smile. After getting close enough to him she spoke, “You definitely stand out above the rest Piotr” The familiar voice tugged at his attention, pulling him down to finally notice the very girl he was looking for had found him first. A small smile played at his lips, “Yes, I am much easier to find than you are, little flower. Unfortunately, it can be a disadvantage... it makes it very hard to stay unnoticed in such a place as this.” Putting a hand on her shoulder, he turned and started back the way he had come, guiding her in a gentlemanly fashion, “I have someone I would like you to meet. I believe he and I can help you stay safe during your time here. I hope you have been well since we last spoke. If anyone has harmed you, let me know and I will make sure they will never do so again.” He lead her more away from the mass of women and towards the men. He mentioned that if anyone had harmed her to let him know. An offer she really couldn't refuse. “I will let you know.” As he kept leading her away she was curious as to who she was about to meet. “I've been... well. As well as can be expected. I don't like having my head shaved.” The collaboration of the men was already mostly gathered where before they would call out to the women it seemed there was less of it directed to herself that morning. Rage asked, “Who am I meeting?” “The leader of the gang that has helped keep others safe. Most of those in charge are Russian or from another area with similar political and social ideals, and one thing that is true for many Russians is that our mothers feed us much so that we are big and strong and able to look after our own. He has taken an interest in you and would like to meet.” He kept his eyes moving the entire time, searching for any sign or hint of danger. There were already whisperings about how some of Magneto's own were in the Cage, and there were just as many mutants in here who hated the man for making their lives hell among the humans as there were supporters. The last thing he wanted to see happen was for his charge to get shanked... that would not happen on his watch. As they were getting closer to where it was they were walking to Rage couldn't help but to feel out of place. She was smaller, a lot less stronger, and the freshest meat to arrive. Soon enough they were walking towards a more burly man, tall and strong, like Piotr. Dark features, she didn't know anything about this man. Tina was still just trying to get use to how things worked from within. Within seconds of walking, they were in front of the man that wished to see the Rage Bringer. |

"This is the girl," Mikhail announced. It was not a question. Rasputin may have been a small child when the Soviet Union was betrayed by that worm Gorbachev, but even children knew not to mess around with men of the KGB. He stood up from the bench, While not as tall as the newest member of the Sayans, Rasputin, at three inches above six feet, he was still quite imposing. Despite his age, he was in better shape than most of the Sayans. He had a scary energy to him. He had to. The Sayans were often seen as weak in the eyes of Gene Nation and LD-50. There were several times where the Great Bear had to push back directly against their incursions, with, as the Americans would say, extreme prejudice. He stooped into the little girl's face, pouring over every inch of her face. Slowly, a grin began to etch itself onto his face. "You are Magneto's women inside the CAGE, eh?" The smile broke into a laugh, and the other Sayans tittered nervously, as the old man laughed. "You should have said something sooner. We could have made your life easier." Ursa Major announced, his laughter abruptly halted. "Laynia, step forward." A haggard looking woman, one who was at most a few years younger than Mikhail Ursus himself, stepped forward. The color had long ago left her cheeks, leaving her skin a ghostly white. Her once-luxurious blond hair had faded into a stark white. Still, her skin seemed as soft as it was the day Mikhail met her. In a different world, Ursa Major and Darkstar were lovers and companions. He felt her much too delicate to be in prison. Still, he had to be careful about showing too much affection to the woman. He didn't want her to be in the crosshairs of Vessel or Crule. "Laynia is the most senior member of the Sayans in the women's barracks. She is going to be looking after you. You need anything, you tell her," Prisoner #012 said, absent-mindedly staring at his one-time lover. He shook his head and exhaled. "You are going to be part of the Sayan's family from now on, tovarishch, and you will keep us in on the loop of whatever Magneto has instructed you to do," He said darkly, "I am not a stupid man. Magneto would have rescued you before you ever got here if he didn't want you to be here. I wish to assist you." |

He had stood, he wasn’t as tall as Piotr, but intimidating in stance. He asked if she was Magneto’s woman on the inside and laughed. The lower ranking gang members nearby gave smaller versions of his laugh. The Rage Bringer failed to see the humor in the statement and didn’t laugh. He said life would have been easier if she had mentioned it earlier, while stopping his laughter suddenly. Tina still couldn’t pinpoint his intentions for wanting to see her until… The Russian asked a woman to step forward. She looked as though she had been run dry on many levels. He let her know that she was the senior female member of the gang and telling her if there was anything she needed to let her know. Rage lowered her eyebrows. The meaning behind it all was easy enough, but having one of his members watch out for her seemed to be more confusing to translate. Whether he picked up on her reaction or not he explained that she was part of the Sayan family. Ah it was clear now. As he spoke a small smirk formed on the edge of her lips. He had hit the nail square in its center. The Russian said he wanted to help. Keeping the small smirk she replied. “I think Magneto would be happy to hear that.” She lowered her voice enough for those close by, like Mikhail and Piotr, to hear. “I’m not certain when… but Magneto is going to break us out. All of us. When we were asked to do this we were told that it could take a while. But a break out is Imminent.” Looking out for a guard or close by listener who could disrupt all of their plans she paused from speaking for only a moment. “There are other’s from the Brotherhood on the inside. We were to spread the word to a select few. Ones who could or would assist with the breakout.” Rage felt as though he as well as Piotr could be trusted enough to keep the secret. Feeling as though Magneto would be appreciative of such help, the two were reliable allies to have for the mutant up rise. |

Throughout most of Mikhail's interrogation, the laughter, and Tina's response, Colossus remained quiet... almost stoic. He did not enjoy this place, and while he was grateful to find the Sayans and be part of their group, Piotr was having a hard time adjusting to the prison. He was a good man and did not enjoy being in the company of killers, instigators, and extremists. Still... his position was definitely the lesser of two evils... and while he didn't agree with much of Mikhail's ideology and was careful to keep his thoughts on the matter quiet, he had a large amount of respect for the man for taking care of his members the way he had; family and loyalty were important to the young Russian. However, the conversation caused Colossus' insides to twist and turn with indecision. Was Tina actually saying she was sent here on purpose? To act as eyes and ears for Magneto so that he could strike at an opportune time? And she wasn't the only one in here? Piotr marveled at the master of magnetism actually requesting such things from someone like Tina, and was even more amazed that she had taken the job. It certainly spoke of his ruthlessness and determination to see his plans come to fruition at any costs, as well as her own personal strength. But there was the matter of debt; what if Magneto succeeded in freeing the prisoners of the CAGE? While he and others like Axel were relatively innocent, half – if not most – of the inmates were actually guilty of misusing their abilities to murder, rape, and steal. Would Magneto actually allow them to walk free? But then who would decide who was allowed to escape? And would that mean he was under the master of magnetism's debt? Was that something Colossus could live with? Would Mikhail and the Sayans continue? Would he part ways with them? But the walls of the prison demanded that he put all the questions reeling through his head on hold... he could answer them after he had earned his freedom. He cut his eyes toward Mikhail, a burning desire to know more clearly evident in them. He wanted to help in whatever way he could, but didn't want to speak out of turn. |

"Good," Mikhail said when the auburn-haired Brotherhood member accepted his author. He stroked his chin in thought for a second. "I imagine, tactically, it makes the most sense right now for us to contact Gene Nation and LD-50 and bring them into the fold. But, strategically, I'm not sure if that is the smartest move. They have been forgotten the true enemy, willing to squabble with each other." He coughed a bit, a worrisome sign, that another virus might be sweeping through the prison population. Of course, the Americans have fought against Communism for so long that they were unwilling to pay for public services like public health. Viruses would cripple the prison every few months. "Let me explain. As a man of KGB, I had to infilitrate the American society on several occasions. You may laugh, but part of our training was reading American philosophy and psychology books and papers. Seeing how Americans think, even if the average American doesn't understand it, is an invaluable tool." "Anyways, American political philosophers are quite fond of the Prisoner's Dilemma. Two prisoners competing against each other to get themselves the best deal. Classic capitalist thinking. The problem is that the Prisoner's dilemma," Mikhail's deep Russian accent began to really shine through in this sentence, "is that it completely ignores the third party in the equation. The one with all the power. The prison!" "An American would look at the Prisoner's dilemma and say that both parties acting rationally would rat each other out. A good Communist would realize that the prisoners don't need cooperation, they need revolution! The LD-50 and Gene Nation are competing against each other, further empowering the prison. They have accepted the prison's terms! Do you know when a caged bird dies? It is not when its heart stops bleeding, it is when the bird decides that the cage is for its own good!" "That is what Sayans are. The Sayans are a reminder that the world is a better place outside the walls, and jockeying for position here is a pebble compared to the Sayan Mountains! We are the means of revolution ourselves!" Mikhail said, his voice suddenly full of passion. "Blind Faith, do you have them?" The Great Bear asked its "procurement officer". An old man, older than Ursa, blind, but in the outside world, a master of mental manipulation, pulled out two packs of cigarettes. Marlboro, and a book of matches. "Today we celebrate, for today, we begin to realize our own revolution." He lit up his cigarrette, and gave a toast. "Salut! Viva La Revolucion!" Mikhail had picked up that last part when helping out Russia's friend in the Mexican Gulf. Fidel told the dirtiest jokes Mikhail had ever heard. |

As Mikhail celebrated and talked a lot louder than she was comfortable with she stood and listened. Tina hoped the other guards' noeses wouldn't get too curious and find out about the plans. The breakout. His shouting was making her tense up. Planning, time, effort could be blown to bits. Looking off to see the guards it looked like they didn't care much. But it was cause for a small celebration. One she would take part in once they were free from the CAGE. In the meantime she had accomplished getting allies for the cause. The Rage Bringer looked back to Piotr, something burned in his eyes. She could see it, but wasn't able to see what they were burning with. As Mikhail cheered she asked him quietly, “Piotr, are you alright?” Of most of the vagabonds she had come to meet within the CAGE, the Colossus was one to keep close. He was worth the fight, and the trouble during the break out. Few were. But as long as their brothers and sisters could be free from such a prison. One where they are treated like animals. They would later regret it. But for now they would wait until the Revolution of Mutants rose. |

Despite the feeling of relief inside his chest, Piotr’s expression did not change; his Sayan members might be celebrating an alliance with Magneto, but he would do no such thing. Instead of lighting up the cigarette, he pocketed it, planning on adding it to his stash to sell. Perhaps he would use it to purchase a good book to read or buy something nice for Tina… in thanks for providing them with hope, of course. Regardless of the little hope she gave them, one fact remained perfectly clear – they were trapped inside the CAGE while the Brotherhood was outside. It would take a great deal of effort to coordinate such an impossible task when they could not even communicate with their allies. He did not want to cheer and celebrate; he wanted to know and plan and gather information. However, he nodded in respect at Ursa, at least admiring the man’s decision to put Tina under her protection while offering her their services. His choice, along with his observation on the American mindset applied in prison life were wise… it was why the older man was in charge. “Piotr, are you alright?” Piotr offered her a small but genuine smile, “I am fine, flower. Only thinking of the free air you and I will breathe soon.” He locked eyes with the lovely girl for a few moments before casting them back toward the leader of the Sayans. And the sooner, the better. When the celebration died down and the crowd had broken up a little, he would ask Mikhail and Tina about their first step. He did not want to waste one more minute of his life here; he wanted to start now. |
