The enemy of my enemy...; Colossus, Sack

Time of Day: 14:02
Place in the Timeline: July 5th

Colossus sat alone on a bench in the rec area only a few days after his survival match in the pit, deep in thought over the events that had transpired afterward. Mystique had come… the end of this madness was close at hand… Magneto himself would be hear to tear this thing apart. Piotr wanted to see that.

As he sat there, the Russian watched some of the other prisoners doing their daily exercises, and there was a longing in his eyes. He had so much stress… so much anger, and he had always found working out to be a release for him… a way to let off some of that steam. The Sayan was a big man; a strong man, and he feared that if he let himself get too careless around others, he could unintentionally hurt someone. Even in his normal form, Piotr was superhumanly strong; in his organic metal form, his limits had yet to be tested. The unfortunate drawback with wielding so much power was that you had to keep in mind just how breakable others were and treat each person you touched as if they were made of porcelain. Because of that, Piotr was afraid of getting too close to someone… even intimacy was a problem. Pushing his strength and skill in the gym and the Danger Room was how he let off steam.

He had something new to focus on now, and despite not being able to go about his daily routine, Piotr was not as sullen as he looked.

Yeaaaah, bend that bitch. Feel the burn. Rick roll your abs -- tease 'em. Yeaaaah. The muscles like that. Keep it goin'. Ignore that chink your ribs. Listen to the numbers.

"Two..."

Oh yeah. You've been going at it for a long as time. The girls are gonna love the washboards.

"Three..."

Hell yeah. They're gonna play Beethoven on your abs.

"Four..."

"OH FUCK A CRAMP!" Sack said, curling into himself. Hanging upside down on some bars and pulling his torso up was not something he was used to. He wasn't the most hardcore exercise enthusiast, but he did what he could. Even if it meant... not reaching five. "Shit, shit! Get me down, Light Bright!" Light Bright was the bioluminescent mutant with glowing ears, a lower member of Gene Nation.

As the lesser member assisted him, Sack groaned and waited until gravity was set right again before standing and giving a stretch. "Shit, why the fuck did I do that? Gaaah." Lowering a blue hand, Sack made his way over to one of the benches, dismissing the glowing bug-guy for the sake of moping over his wounds. Eventually sucking it up, his hand stopped rubbing the spot and he settle.

Down the bench sat the Sayan who threatened to dismember Sack in the showers. Maybe it was by chance that Sack had sat here, or maybe it was Sack being ballsy. Maybe he wanted to start shit with the Sayans. Maybe there were a few Gene Nation members waiting for a signal to jump the commie bastard...

Or maybe Sack just sucked at exercising and couldn't stand standing for more than five minutes.

Sack and Colossus JP

Pete didn’t like Sack. In fact… he couldn’t stand the sight of the little runt, but it wasn’t because of the way the gooey mutant looked. It was just the way he acted and talked, as if he was looking to make people mad at him. Colossus didn’t understand that sort of behavior or mindset, and that was what made him so mad.

Today, however, was different. This week was different. They would not be here much longer… within a matter of days, they would all witness the full wrath of mutantkind unleashed upon oppressive humans. He could forgive even the little blue mutant of his shortcomings because of what was coming. That’s why when he cast a glance at Sack, it wasn’t with the same glare he’d constantly fixed on him in the past, it was merely curious observation after having watched the other prisoner attempt to lift weights.

“You have good form, friend. You are merely trying to lift too much too quickly.” It was a simple observation… an olive branch.

Sack would've sweated like a bitch if he knew who he was sitting by and lacked balls... Well, he did... Maybe he just would've sweated from working out. But since he couldn't do that, Sack was out of options, so his gelatinous skin remained dull. Without that shimmer, he wasn't going to give off any signs of shitting bricks.
Running a hand through his purple hair, Sack leaned forward, elbows on his knees. Jesus. Fucking not hot and decent air conditioning. Was this a prison or a permanent hotel? Giving a sniff, Sack looked over his shoulder as he heard the commie's voice. Really, this guy was talking to him? Totally bitchin'. Why would this Russian asshole try to make conversation when he threatened to rip his head off not long ago?
"You're just sayin' that cause you almost got your arm bit off, Sayan," he said, automatically confrontational with the guy.

Piotr cocked his head to the side as he took on a thoughtful look; usually he would have gotten offended by the accusation after making such an effort – his fuse had gotten considerably short. However… he decided to take a different approach this time. “I do not say that for any reason but to be helpful. I have had much experience in gyms, and I know what I am talk about – talking about?” He hesitated, trying to make up his mind which was the correct form of the word to use… regardless of how long he spent in the United States, English still had its tricky moments for him.

“I merely want to help make sure you do not damage yourself. Losing another mutant would only make our numbers fewer against the guards. I do not know about you, but I am tired of the fighting we do among ourselves.”

"Riiight... 'I merely want to help make sure you do not damage yourself so I can kick your ass myself.'" Sack grunted, obviously not believing the guy's words. "Who says that kinda shit anyways? Man, even I know when to stop. After a few months you just get over the fact that you're never getting out. I don't know about you, but I think you're due for a reality check. The fighting keeps us alive... Shit, now I'm talking with a Sayan about philosophical things." He looked upwards. "Fuck you god..."

Piotr couldn’t help but let a small humorous smile grace his lips at the irony of the situation; Sack was trying to clue him in on the fact that they were never going to get out when he had definite proof that they would be leaving in a matter of weeks or even days. He shook his head, “God is not punishing you, nor will he save you. The only ones you can rely on is your own people, my friend. I am not speaking of our pitiful little gangs. Trusting in them would be stupid. I am speaking of mutants… our kind. They will free us of this place.” He gave Sack a meaningful look, “That is why we should not fight. As one of your former Presidents said, ‘A house divided cannot stand.’”

(JP with Sack and Piet)

Sack narrowed his eyes. Either this guy was going a bit nutty from being bitten by that raibid mutant in the Pit, or this guy was just getting nutty from being locked up too long. And that look! Jesus, it looked like the guy was coming onto him or trying to consolodate him for the death of a family member. This guy had some major fucking issues.

"Since when do commies start talking about Presidents of the good ol' US of fucking A?" Sack sneered, giving the Sayan a stink eye of sorts. He didn't like that meaningful 'Let me hold you' look that the mutant was giving him. Sack wasn't going to let any feigned weakness get the best of him. Not here. Not in the CAGE. "And God can suck a cock. Ol' Crux thought God was going to stop him from attacking that guard, and look where he is now!" Crux was one of the rare neutral prisoners. He went a little crazy from the prison rot and went after a guard. Now he was either dead or in solitary.

Nodding his head in agreement, Piotr picked up where Sack left off, “It was a stupid move. He should not have done that on his own, which is exactly my point. Keeping us at each other’s throats is exactly what they want. They will continue to tear us apart with our own hands, and we will be powerless to stop them. But if we fight together… as one.” He let the thought finish itself as his eyes quickly scanned the area, watching his fellow mutants and making sure there were no guards around.

Finally, he looked back at Sack, “All our people need is hope, and I have it. Magneto is coming.”

Sack stared at Poitr, dumbfounded at what the guy said. He just... stared. Possibilities of that Master of Magnetism actually coming to lil' ol' CAGE and doing something...

"HAHA," he barked obnoxiously, soon falling into a snickering fit. "Oh man. Jesus. You really are going the way of Crux. Hahaha!" Sack couldn't help himself. Oh... He was gonna have a laugh with the guys tonight.

"You must be smokin', Commie. Whatever it is, I want some. Commies share, right? Did Trader give you that shit?"

That was Colossus’s attempt at a bit of humor, and he regretted it almost immediately… it sounded stupid. He shook his head, taking on a completely serious tone, “Kyle is from the Brotherhood. He and a few others let themselves be caught to be on the inside, to help in any way they could when Magneto arrives. Another of his lieutenants was here after the last pit fights. She talked to us… that is where we went. She will be creating a diversion soon to allow us a chance to disable the devices that protect the prison from outside attack.”

A look of urgency had bled into his features as he tried to explain the situation, “I am trying to tell those who I believe capable and trusting, and I believe you are one of those. You know many… you can help me spread the news to those who will not tell the guards. Please… do not be a fool. I am telling you the truth.”

Sack tried to hold back the snickering, but how could he? Suddenly the guy Sack was giving the up and down in the shower was a member of that infamous terrorist group called the Brotherhood. "Oh yeah. I'm totally telling the guys about this." Snickering, he began to mine what he'd recite. "So that pansy Sayan was all 'Z.O.M.G.'," because Sack spelled out his acronyms like a big boy,"' the Mag to the Eto is comin' to save you cuz his lady parts tingle for some Sack'." Sack grinned, canting his head, looking to the Sayan as though he were a fool.

"Seriously, did Trader get you that stuff?"

Colossus and Sack JP

Okay… now the guy was seriously starting to annoy the Russian. It was frustrating to deliver such good news to someone who refused to even consider whether it was valid or not, and despite being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel, Sack was starting to push his buttons.

He waved off the question, “You do not have to believe me if you do not wish to, but let me ask you this… what if I am telling you the truth? What if the things I am saying are real? Do you want to take that chance and possibly miss out on the best opportunity we have at escaping this nightmare? Only because you cannot bring yourself to look past the fact that I am in a different gang or have a different opinion on life? You do not have to like me, Sack. You only have to believe me, spread the word, and be ready when he comes.”

So maybe this guy didn't have prison rot and might be telling the truth. What was it going to cost Sack if he were if not for freedom? Everyone, every fucking mutant here wanted to be free. Some of them were put here for no reason, some of them for the worst reasons. But freedom was all they craved, over violence, over small cells and showers with naked guys who sometimes had a wang that reached their knees (seriously, THOSE are the real mutants). What if Sack did listen? What if this Sayan was speaking the truth?

"Talking all mystic and crap isn't going to convince me otherwise. I still think you're nuts, Sayan," he grinned for a moment, but even that soon faded. At risk of freedom, he would not pass up a chance to know if something was happening and be involved when it did happen. "If you are telling the truth, then I'd keep those LD50s out of it. They'd let somethin' slip too fast." He gave a shrug, trying to appear ambiguous rather than eager. "I can let the right people know on my side. If you are tellin' the truth, we'll all make a break for it. If not... Then I hope you're okay with God, if you believe in that stuff." Sack was part nihilist. "Either way, I'll be on the winning team."

“You will see,” Colossus said as Sack shot him reassurance and warning. The fact that Sack was putting some of his reputation on the line to spread the word was not lost on him; he was risking a lot in the event that Colossus was just crazy, and Piotr appreciated what he was doing. Every person prepared increased the chance of success by that much more.

“I do not believe in God, but I appreciate what you are saying. Do not worry… you will thank me when this is over. I swear it.”

Sack lifted a hand dismissively, trying to ignore the last comments. "Whatever, Sayan." Dropping his feet off the bench, Sack stood, rotating his shoulder, being weary of where he had the cramp earlier. Looking off, he continued to talk to the Sayan. "If this crap happens -- and I'm not saying it will -- there's gonna be a lot of dead people," he said with a grin, smiling to himself. "Chaos will fall in and gangs will fall apart. Everyone has their own thing. Tell 8-inches," he was referring to Kyle ," and your friends that I'm comin their way. It'll be their choice what happens when I do." Canting his head and looking over his shoulder at Poitr, he held a malicious grin on his face.

"Like I said. I'll be on the winning team, no matter what."

Piotr watched Sack as he left, convinced that he had made – at best – a tenuous agreement with the Gene Nation member. With him on board, it would not take long rally all the prisoners with a shred of suspension of disbelief. Piotr looked back at several mutants working out on the benches, his mind drifting back to his mutant abilities. He looked forward to feeling the conversion from flesh to steel again. He looked forward to the looks on the guards’ faces when they stormed the prison, but most of all, he looked forward to getting out of here and moving on with his life. Hopefully, Magneto would know of a way to restore his arm.
