So.. I was thinking we should a place to showcase some of the threads people are reading and enjoying. Maybe it's a thread you have been reading that is particularly dramatic, heartwarming, funny or just a really nice piece of character development or a great bit of writing. Or it could just be a particular post in a thread that blew you away. If people want to stick a link up here, for others to dip into a enjoy a thread that they might not have had the time/inclination to read otherwise, plus give some praise to players who are working hard on threads.

I'll get the ball rolling with Blood Brothers ? with Billy, Tommy and Hank. It's really nice to see the interaction between Speed and Wiccan, they work really well together, and are dealing with what could be a fairly big issue in a refreshingly light way.

Nice idea.

It's just finished, but I really really enjoyed Ruby Red.

Everyone should read this thread. It's great seeing the development of Scott up through his emerging powers, being twisted by Jack, and ending up in the same place as his mentor. The ending completely blew me away. It's interesting seeing this other, possible side of Scott too. Great stuff.

Sorry. I've realized the site isn't for me. It's alot to take in and I'm not absorbing it very well. I thought I'd say this instead of just disappearing. I know I didn't even get my character finished but yeah...

Thanks for the help anyway. Bye for now. I may even join some other time. I've just started 6th form and will have lots of work.

"Let us get this over with," Pietro muttered, slumped in a chair, drumming his fingers so rapidly and with such force that he was drilling a small hole in the arm of the chair. "I do not like SHIELD, I do not wish to be here, I am not insane, I have no need for therapy." He rattled off, "Is that enough information for you to write your report and give it to your governmental employers?"

Samson paid little attention to the gypsy man's rudeness. He'd come prepared to deal with Maximoff's personality. Every indication he'd been given was that Pietro was not what one might call personable. In fact, the only people who spoke in nice terms about him were his sisters, and oddly Alex Summers, though Pietro apparently objected to the engagement, Havok's leadership, and everything else about the man. Everyone else basically warned Samson that Pietro was... Well, it was obvious what he was. "Let's just talk for a few more moments, Pietro, just to make sure that everything is covered, and then there will be no need for me to come back and bother you further."

Pietro harumphed, "I care very little if you come back or not. How can you possibly bother me more than you have? Your sessions upset my sisters. That is unacceptable."

"I'm sorry to hear that," Samson said, "I didn't mean to upset them. Seems a lot of things are unacceptable when it regards your sisters."

Silver blue eyes narrowed on Samson, "Is this the heart of this farce? You get me to open up by leading me along? I have been psychoanalyzed before. I know how such things go."

"Who've you talked to before?" the doctor asked nonplussed.

"Jean Grey," Pietro said, "After we left the Brotherhood. She thought it would help my sister if I were to talk to her about my own concerns."

"Did it help?"

"Wanda is well, is she not?" Pietro sniffed. "She can see. She is happy. She even has a... I suppose she has a love."

"Alister Black," Samson said, "He spoke of her with great fondness."

"He's a fool, unworthy of my sister, dangerous and uncontrolled."

"Who would you want Wanda to be with? Who would make her happy?"

Pietro looked away, his brow furrowing, "I do not know that there is anyone who can protect her."

Samson looked at him, closely, "I didn't ask about protecting her. I asked about making her happy."

The young mutant continued to look away, but his finger drumming stopped. He crossed his leg over his knee, waggling his foot in a blurred motion, "She will be happy when she is safe."

"So, Wanda's loneliness is because she's not protected enough?"

Now, Pietro looked back at him, his eyes suddenly filled with concern, "Wanda... is lonely?"

"That's what she said in our session," Samson said, "Perhaps it's bad policy to speak about someone's therapy, but you're her brother and I think it's something you should know."

The young man was up on his feet now, pacing in swooping loops, "Why would she be lonely? She has me. I never leave her side, I am never far away. I protect her constantly, keep her safe, hold her when she cries..."

"There are things you can't do for her," Samson said, pointedly. "Things you are able to do with your girlfriend. Avery is it?

Pietro stopped dead in his tracks, inches from Samson, glaring at him, "You dare suggest... Do not say the name of my beloved in the same breath as your filth. You are vulgar."

Samson shrugged, "It would not be unheard of, and in your culture..."

"You know nothing of my culture," Pietro scoffed, "We are not animals, nor are we uncivilized. That's the problem with you Americans, you think that everything must be done as you do it."

"You're more open then, Pietro?"

A slight smile crossed the speedster's face, "I did not say that." He folded his arms, "If I know best, I am not afraid to say it."

"How often do you know best?"

Pietro's chin lifted just a degree, "More often than not."

"Your teammates suggested that lately you have been more vocal about it than ever."

"They are speaking of my objection to Summers marrying my sister?" Pietro returned to his seat, "You would find something odd in that? He attempted to murder her."

"He was under someone else's control."

"That is always his excuse!" Pietro snapped, "It is always what happens to him. Over and again! Why should we continue to forgive him, trust him, give him dominion over us? What good have we done under him? We have saved lives, but not in any fashion that could not have been done without him. He is leader only in the fact that he brought us under this roof. He is... a landlord, little else."

"How would you run X-Factor?"

"With a firmer hand, with more pointed goals," the white haired mutant said, "I would make more of a difference."

"Like your father does?"

Pietro was on his feet again, "This interview is over."

"You don't like speaking of your father."

"I do not like you speaking of my father," Pietro growled, "You know nothing of him. He helped to save this world, humans and all. You see only his anger at the unfairness of your people."

"An anger you share?"

"Damn right I share it," The retort was quicker than human, "If not for human bigotry Mutant Town would not exist, we would not have suffered at the hands of War, we would not have been guarded by sentinels, we would not have such a differentiation of class, we would not..." his voice trailed off, "This is a foolish topic of conversation. Would not, could not, should not, it matters not. Magneto and his philosophies are not why we are here." He stopped his pacing and looked back at Samson. "Or are they?"

"If SHIELD asked you to take down Magneto, would you?'

Pietro's blood ran cold, "Would they ask that?"

"He is considered a terrorist and an enemy of the American People."

"The American Human people," Pietro said, his voice tight, "Many of the mutants think he is a hero."

"Do you?" Samson asked, "Again, could you take him down? Could you use your connection with him to bring him to justice?"

"Use my..." Pietro's eyes narrowed, "Does SHIELD expect that my sisters and I will lead them to Magneto's whereabouts? That somehow our familial bond will coax him from whatever hole he is hiding in? I am sorry to disappoint you, but there is no bond. He wishes nothing to do with us."

"Do you want something to do with him?" Samson pressed.

Pietro took a step back from the doctor. "I want to save him," he admitted, "Like my sisters, he is in need of protection."

"From us?" Samson said, "From humanity? It seems as if he is doing fine on his--"

"From himself," Pietro whispered, "Like Wanda and her disconnection from reality. Like Lorna and her obsession with this unworthy man she loves. Like Summers with his lack of will. Like Avery and her frail trusts. They need to be protected from themselves."

"And why must you bear this burden? Why do you have to save them alone?"

Pietro looked at Samson, eye to eye, "Because I am the only one who can." He turned to leave. "I'm the only one fast enough to outrun the dangers that come, strong enough to carry them all to safety if I must... I am the only one whose powers cannot be turned into great evil. What sins can speed commit? I run, Samson. It is what I do. I run and the world turns beneath my feet. I need only find a direction to point my toes towards." He put his hand on the doorknob. "Wanda is not the only one who is lonely. I am deeply loved, but what does it matter when I..." He opened the door. "I have to go..."

"Are we done, Pietro?"

"No," Pietro said, "I am done."

And in a blur of wind, he was gone.

I'm a fan of "In The Same Old Sickly Skin". It's the kind of thread I wish I could be a part of, but alas, it wouldn't make much sense.

[size0]Say the dog and butterfly,
in the air they like to fly.
Dog and butterfly.
She knew she had to try,
and she float back down to the warm soft ground,
laughing - she don't know why,
but she had to try, she had to try.
Dog and Buttefly.
