Jonny strolled out of the lounge, munching on a peach, and reading the newspaper... well, the Spider-Man comic in the newspaper. It was pretty funny how the Daily Bugle ran both derogatory news stories about the guy and a daily strip where he's a hero. Jonny was guessing that good ole J. Jonah didn't proof read the comics section. As he wandered into the public areas, he heard some of the others come in, Guido joking that Lorna was in charge.

"Hey, Lorna can boss me around any time if she..."

His voice trailed off when he saw the new arrival. He recognized her... well, he didn't. His donor had known the girl, from the school was it? He tossed the newspaper on the counter as he joined them and said, "Sally Blevins, right? Skids? I have memories in my head of you from the Xavier School. A few years ago? I..."

This was awkward. It was the first time since all the trouble at the school when he was breaking Mojo's conditioning, that he had come across someone who had known the real him before he was recreated, reborn. He looked at the others, and felt strangely ashamed that he was going to have to explain who and what he was to Skids. "Um, I guess this is as weird for you as it is for me right? I mean, last time we saw each other, was probably at my funeral.. my donor's funeral. Did you go? Slim and Red don't really want to talk about it. I'm... well, shit, let me just put it out there. You're going to have to know eventually, right? I'm the clone of Jon Harper, you can still call me Jonny if you want, though. Everyone else does."

"Do?" Madison asked, as if it were a question that wasn't asked too often. "Um... well, it's alot of things, really... I handle security, equipment... repairs... I'm pretty much Q with a big robot."

He wasn't sure if she'd understand the James Bond reference, but he moved on despite it.
"You'll meet everyone else soon enough. We're overall a pretty sociable group," he said just as Jon arrived on the scene. Between Guido and Jon, Madison had the feeling that things were about to get a good bit sillier as the two were bound to compete to see who can get the pretty young girl to laugh the most.

What Harper actually said surprised him, though. Madison had never really paid Jon's clonal nature any mind. He never knew the original Harper, so as far as Madison was concerned, the Jon Harper he knew was Jon Harper, and that was that. It was easy to forget about clonage if one never knew the original person.

"Summers, did we leave the registration equipment in your office?" It had been a while since the team had a new member, after all. Madison thought back, trying to recall who was their most recent recruit and where they had done the process of scanning him or her into the security system.

"Alex is tha figure head. Everyone knows Lorna's tha boss." Guido said, and Alex smirked.

"Lorna's my fiancee," Alex explained, still loving the sound of that, and it was clear in his voice, "Code named Polaris. She's a ferrokinetic, magnetism, flight, and she's the boss of my heart, at least, but I don't think she has any aspirations of leading the team, to be honest. I'm sure you'll meet her soon, though I'm not sure where she is right now. Unlike my big brother, I'm not telepathically tied to my girl."

Jon entered then, and apparently the original Volt knew Skids from the school. This was probably something Alex should have anticipated. He'd been aware she was at the school, but Alex simply never thought of Jon as a clone, even though Harper was never shy about admitting it. He freely reminded people of his origin and the reason for his creation, maybe to be shocking, but Alex sort of expected it was just because it was how Jon was. Having never known the original Harper, he didn't know if it was natural, or a product of the cloning process like Longshot's childish mannerisms. When Jon was a killer, was he as up front and honest?

"Summers, did we leave the registration equipment in your office?" Madison cut the awkward moment with business and Alex nodded.

"Yeah, it's on the bookshelf with the standing file. Office's open," he gestured with his head, indicating that Box was welcome to go get it, since Alex thought it might be important for him to stay and make sure things didn't get weird with Jonny and Skids... well, weirder.

If things didn't go and get awkward and kind of weird, Guido would be left thinking that Sally here wasn't getting a proper X-Factor welcome. Of course she wasn't dragged off to some weird dimension to be part of a humiliating trial that involved degrading someone he loved yet at dinnertime...and all things considered that wasn't likely to happen again anyway. But given enough time in a family such as this, something strange was going to happen. Cue Jon.

The only thing Guido knew about clones was from the movies. He'd seen that one with Michael Keaton and then there was another one with Arnold Schwarzenegger, but he was fairly sure that just about every bit of science and fact in those kinds of movies was skewed.

So here was a case that clone Jon (which Guido just never thought of him as) knew Sally through his original in another life. "Awkward." Guido said around the canvas strap.

And in the meantime he was still standing there in the hallway holding a large part of Sally's wardrobe. "Don't mean ta rush anyone," he said a little impatiently. "But I'm gonna head down to Sally's new room now." He ambled down the hallway, dragging the two trunks behind him. Alex had said she was in the room joining Violey's, which like most of the other rooms was on the second floor. Guido sighed as he glanced up the steps and then slowly began putting one foot in front of the other as he climbed toward the row of suites.

Violey sat in a chair by the open window in her room. Using her arm as a pillow she rested her head on the window's ledge. The late after air blew in through window as a calming breeze. She was content in knowing the wind would always be there even when the rest of the world changed.

Today X-factor received a new recruit. If she hadn't dozed off then she would already be downstairs greeting her. Having left the door open to allow the air to circulate better the footsteps and voices coming from the hall awoke her. It took a moment for her to register who belonged to the voices. They were from Madison and the bossman. Violey sat up and stretched.

Knowing full well the new recruit would eventually make it to the second floor Violey decided to not follow them downstairs. There was no point in going downstairs to only come back upstairs. So, instead, she walked over to the mirror to give herself the once over. However, not moments later the sounds of someone heading up the stairs made her turn quickly towards the door. Who was that? Was that the new recruit?

At last curiosity got the best of her. Violey walked to the opened door and took a step out into the hall. To her surprise the one coming up was Guido laden with, by the looks of it, half the belongings of the new girl. Oh, she could have laughed out loud at the site of Guido struggling with so much luggage. Most definitely he was able to lift a whole ton more than what he carried but individual items in one take made it too difficult.

"Would you mind if I give you a 'and?" she asked offering to help Guido carry some of the baggage. Violey kept composed by not showing any amusement at his expense.

"Alright," Madison said with a sharp nod of his head as he walked on over to the office. He filed through the bookshelf a moment before he saw it right in plan sight and snagged it, mentally chastizing himself for not seeing it when it was in plain view.

He re-emerged into the foyer with a small black handheld device. It looked fairly cobbled together, but in some respects it showed craftsmanship that was completely unattainable in a factory. Typical of a creation from Jeffries, the registration device bore no seams, no signs of manufacturing whatsoever. The device in his hand, while plain and lacking in paint and colors, looked as if it were melted into shape, which in a sense of speaking, it was.

"Alright, Miss Blevins, we're just going to need you to place your right thumb on the flat screen here, and then say your full name aloud, plus a code name if you have one. That'll register you into our security system, allow you access to our non-public areas and will let you tap into our wireless connection if you've got a computer."

He held the device out to the new recruit, and awaited her response.
