The rest of Remy's group reacted how they would, understandable reactions of course. But Moonbeam moved in for a face to face with the Rider. Her intangibility made it easy for her to move through the creatures. They tried to cling themselves to her to stop her from approaching the inflamed rider, but it proved fruitless. Getting closer to the rider, the blue tinted girl showed compassion and worry in her face. A creature like this rider had never been seen in her life or in death. As she approached him the Dead Girl pleaded, “Please... you must stop.” Suddenly he grabbed for her throat and brought her closer to him, raising her up higher then he even stood. She didn't need to breathe but the shock in her eyes was apparent. He was able to grab a hold of her while she was intangible. A flood of questions invaded her mind but it was long forgotten when he spoke. In a deep, dark, guttural, voice he told her, “He's not innocent.” With a sudden fling of his arm, the Rider released his grip on the girl's throat. Moonbeam flew through the air, past the creatures, the motley group that was with Remy, and through the buildings that surrounded them. Her body disappeared through the brick, wood, and glass architectures that made New Orleans what it was. Having disappeared from the group no one, expect maybe the Rider knowing the power of his strength, and the blue tinted girl, knew how far she traveled from the toss. |
