Date: 15 Dec, 2007 (one year after running off on his own) Time: 1:43am With the problems caused by Winter things within the town hadn't lightened up. He was called a terror, a menace to the town. Didn't stop him from lifting stuff off for a pretty good five finger discount on, well, everything. He wasn't going to stay very much longer, the town was getting far to heated, no pun intended. He just needed one more thing, not really need so much as wanted. The snowed mutant wanted this item as a souvenir. It was a trophy for him. It was late, and the air had that pre-winter chill creeping up on the town. Which was originally not brought on by Winter, but by the season. Which made a good cover for him. Sliding in as a rolling frost wide spread and ever moving. Forming his snowed figure in the darkest corners of the town it was easy to slip into the building. Security was light, it was simple to avoid them. Maybe everything about this was too easy, too simple. Things shouldn't be so simple, but it was far from Winter's mind. He was on too much of a rush, this was the first thing he didn't need but stole anyways. The item he was fixing to steal was a town treasure of sorts. Not valuable in price, but value to the people of the town. It would be his mark that he left along with the early winter that he carried with him. But it was time to move on, to a new place. Thinking that maybe staying in one place, while he preferred it, was not a good choice on his part. Eventually someone would always find out about him. Right then, as he was grabbing for the small town valuable, he felt pretty invincible and untouchable. Winter hadn't been privy to enemies that could very well do more then touch. He had no clue, and continued on. |

Omni-thermal suit my ass, Marvel thought as she prowled the small town, flurries swirling around her. And speaking of asses, hers was cold – as was her feet, which felt like solid ice blocks at the ends of her legs. Her nose likewise wasn’t fairing too well in this refrigerator of a town, it too was red and frozen, which went well with her ears, also red and frozen. She spent most of her time in their base in the desert and not used to this arctic wasteland, as she thought of it. She had walked off the SHIELD transport, felt the biting air and briefly considered the hat, but a lifetime spend in a military organization resulted in a certain amount of mulishness and decided that the cold wasn’t so bad, a decision she cursed herself for as she trudged along hours later. Taken all together, it was a package that made Marvel not a happy camper. It hadn’t been hard to spot the mutant, her keen observational powers told her it was the guy festooned with icicles and snow and acting like it was merely a day at the beach for him. He watched him sulking around the building and thought, Jesus H. Christ, this guy sticks out like a sore thumb. Stealth, to put it bluntly, was not his guy’s forte; covered with ice, he didn’t exactly blend into the shadows. So, he was a sneak thief, and a bad one too, he’d only lasted as long as he had because he’d stuck to this small town. Ahh, well, time to wrap him up before he hurts anyone else, she thought. Marvel stepped out from the shadows. “Freeze!” an unfortunate universal command to halt and not move, given this particular guy. She reached out with her mind, to grab and pin him to the ground. “You are under arrest, by order of SHIELD!” |
