Bestial Form and Traits

Time of day: 5:40 PM Place in the time-line: September 14th, 2009 Deep in the forests of Michigan lived a monster. The monster once was a brilliant scientist who was maybe too brilliant for his own good. He wasn't taken down by his own hubris, because it wasn't a Greek tragedy, and the world doesn't really work that way. He was simply in the wrong place in the wrong time. It was a lot like Chernobyl. Everyone working with the Gamma reactor knew how dangerous it was, and because of that danger, they knew that all the safety procedures were redundant and overprotective. So it didn't really matter if you cut a corner there, cut a corner here. But all those cut corners added up and by chance, Dr. Hank McCoy was the one who payed the price. It was cold in the forests of the U.P. Brute didn't care because he had fur, but the girl that followed Brute around, Kitty, she got cold. She got good at making fire. Brute liked the fire, because it was bright, and sometimes, when it was really cold, it was helpful even with his fur. Kitty helped Brute. Make Brute not as angry. Make Brute not as monster. Brute didn't always want to be Brute. Brute could almost remember what Brute was before he was Brute. Brute wanted to be like that. So Kitty helps Brute, and the Brute helps Kitty. Brute make sure Kitty has enough food to eat. Brute had snapped the moose's neck and hurled it onto his shoulder. It would be enough food for Kitty for weeks. Brute usually had to find his own food in addition to Kitty's. Brute liked fish, though Brute ate a lot of fish. The gargantuan monster sniffed the air, hoping to catch a whiff of fish near the top of Lake Huron, but that's not what he found. Something unfamiliar was in the air. Brute made sure that the moose was still there and jumped into the air, back towards the cave that Kitty and Brute used as a camp. Brute didn't like strange things near him. "Kitty!" Brute said as he landed, "KAT-THUR-IN! You safe?" |

There had been talks about a great beast, one unlike anything people has ever seen who lived and wandered the woods of the U.P. Now Gateway had seen a great many things in his life all manners of beasts, men and Gods And everyone excited him a bit more then the next. He had been spending more and more time he found in the other time line searching for the beast, as his birth timeline had no record of a creature that would match the stories least none he had heard before. He moved through the snow his feet in fur lined moccasin style boots, an over sized fur jacket wrapped around his small frame the hood pulled over his head and as always his walking stick in hand. He trudged through the snow as his basket softly bounced against his back. It held all the supplies he would need for the day along with his journal that he had been keeping as he searched for this monster people were talking about. This world as a whole had not been kind to him, and the cold of this state was not warming him up any to it. He trudged through the snow humming softly to himself as his large eyes scanned from side to side to see if he could pick up on anything. He stopped along the side of a mountain and stretched poking his stick at the snow drawing a few random characters out of boredom to mark where he was. Long as a fresh snow did not fall they would serve as a guide in case he got lost. He wasn’t overly worried since he could port away but sometimes it was just nice to walk. Good on the legs he thought to himself, keep his old bones from getting soft and useless on him. He let a small chuckle out, he was far past his prime but for what ever reasons the Gods had gifted him with a strong one that let him carry his mission on. |

Brute was out foraging for food, Brute was a good provider he always knew just exactly when Kitty needed to eat, sleep, rest or if anything was out of the ordinary even by a little bit he was right at her side without a moments hesitation. A true symbiotic relationship at work, Brute was the only thing close to a family Kitty has had in the last 4 years ever since the tragic events that unfolded the fateful day when they first met. And ever since that day Kitty made it her purpose in life to follow the Big Green Monster around the country going where ever he went, at first Brute tried to scare her off and even tired to physically attack her. But Kitty was able to evade any attempts he made at her life. And eventually he warmed up to having a companion. Especially when she started talking to him and trying to hold intelligent conversations with him. Kitty was perhaps the only person on the face of the earth who could tone down the unstoppable rage of the Brute. And after 4 years of standing by his side she has all but had it worked out into a fine art. How ever with any masterpiece it came with its flaws and not always was he so easily able to be reigned back in. while Kitty sat in the cave preparing a fire for when Brute returned with food. She heard the faint screams of her Brute echoing throughout the woods. He was calling for her, Something has upset him. As Kitty ran to the opening of the cave she heard him call out her name. "KAT-THUR-IN! You safe?" “Brute! Shhh... everything is fine, I am fine... please just calm down” Kitty rebutted as loudly as she could. |

Almost immediately, the monster calmed down considerably when he saw that his Kitty was still okay. He had stayed in the woods of Michigan for a while now, and he knew that the soldiers and the scientists would want to get at him, and that they might try to go for Kitty to lure him out. Brute didn't like soldiers and scientists. Its why Brute had to move so often, so that they wouldn't bombard him. He avoided people, besides his Kitty, because they would alert soldiers and scientists. Brute didn't want this. Brute wanted to be with people so Brute could remember how to be people. But sometimes Brute got angry and out of control. He had been staying in places longer, thanks to Kitty. He was leaving less of a footprint, less of stuff for the soldiers and scientists to track him. Plus with his rages under control, he wasn't as a big of a threat to the soldiers. "Kitty, come with me," the towering green bear said. If there soldiers here, Brute wanted to make sure Kitty was with him for his get-away, and if it wasn't soldiers then Brute would need Kitty to keep him from mauling them. He knelt down so that his companion could climb up on to his shoulder. "Brute smell something not from here," Brute growled, "Brute want to make sure that it not here to hurt us." He walked into the woods, towards the direction of what he smelled. |
