February 15th 2010 Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters 1320 hours Prof. Virgis and mr. Summers walked out the door of the mansion, ready for the tour of the area. Sander looked around. He hadn't paid much attention when he first arrived, but now wanted to see what the mansion and the grounds actually looked like. The whole place had a very welcoming feel to it. Its beauty really stood as a contrast to the ugliness of the ruined buildings and parks back in Chicago since Apocalypse attacked. Ever since then, he couldn't stop thinking about Famine and how if he had never come and killed his father and daughter, Sander would not even be here. But he was, and it was all because of Famine. It was strange. He hated him, whoever he was, and wanted to pay him back for everything he had gone through. Yet, Sander felt he should also thank him. Coming here, even just working up the nerve to make such a drastic change in his life - to dedicate himself to helping the mutant cause, instead of simply ignoring it and hoping the problems would go away on their own. It would not have been possible without Famine. Sander decided to stop thinking about that. Famine was more than likely already dead, so any thoughts of vengeance were wasted. He found himself really looking forward a tour of the place. He still hadn't decided if he should stay at the mansion, since he didn't know if there were enough free rooms for any potential students. But staying would definitely be much easier for him. He didn't enjoy driving to work. In fact, going anywhere was usually a big waste of time, as he couldn't really get any work done during the cumulative hours and days he spent driving from one place to another. Staying at the mansion would give him a lot more free time. Sander wondered what the other teachers and staff would be like. All of them were apparently mutants, and from Summers' words, they were obviously from all ends of the spectrum. He had never actually met another mutant before. At least none that he knew about. They were probably all good people, considering the cause they were fighting for. 'Well, I guess there's no turning back now. If all goes well, this place will be either a second home, or my only home, very soon.' Sander thought to himself and waited. |

Never let it be said that Emma Frost couldn't take a suggestion, although if given her rathers she'd prefer to be in the position to make her own rules instead of the need to be following others, but as it stood opportunity had not granted her that luxury again, yet. Scott had told her in no uncertain terms that if she wanted the things she desired she had to demonstrate she could play well with the others. A task that while in theory seemed simple enough but when put to action was a rather difficult one, all made none the easier by the fact that she had less then no use for the majority of the so called staff at Xaviers and they had shown the feeling was entirely mutual. The White Queen had little desire to heed to others attempts at pleasantry and banter, and she rarely engaged in such with them herself. She considered herself a woman with many important things on her plate, having coffee while discussing the weather with a group of touchy-feely lesser than hers was not one of them, but the visored X-man had said mingle so mingle she would. However just because she was compromising some didn't mean she was singing a whole new tune just yet. It was about finding the right situations and working them to the advantages that would best suit her in the long run. What better opportunity then the arrival of a new professor to show try out her new presentation of pleasantry. Someone new to the school would be free of the ingrained bias that the others in Xaviers fluent with the stumbling of her past had. She had the chance to make a true first impression, and in the process beat the others, namely a certain red haired counselor to the punch. Often times Emma's reputation would precede her, the chance to show herself before some slanderous tongue had a chance to flay her presence was truly one to good to pass up, and Scott had encouraged her to mingle. Emma walked casually to the grounds following a trail of the new teacher's thoughts. She wanted the first meeting to appear coincidental, allow the man the premise that he was discovering her not the other way around. Even under these terms the game always did remain much the same. Sensing Scott and the new man enter the grounds, Emma feigning a calm boredom rounded the corner of the building and with a look of pleasant surprise greeted the Headmaster and the new addition to the school. "Hello, Scott" the White Queen said in a style that was all hers and with a feigned pleasantness she knew the X-man leader would see through. "And who is your friend?" she asked still playing off more innocence then both she and Summers knew to be true. "Scott is such a brute when it comes to introductions, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Emma Frost. Welcome to Xavier's University, is our dear leader giving you the guided tour? I can assure you this place is far greater then the brochure sells it to be, our dear Mr. Summers is a marvelous leader but advertisement isn't one of his strong suits" The White Queen held out her hand in greeting, and with the sublets move of her head gave Scott a smile only he would probably understand. |

Punches from the Punch Dimension

Scott remembered very clearly his first arrival here. He had been blinded, a bandage around his eyes, mostly for appearance sake than for protection, because the power streaming from his eyes would shred the gauze and tape like it as substantial as a cobweb. His eyes behind the covering were clamped just tight enough that it furrowed his brow into deep crevasses. Scott, fifteen years old, had not opened his eyes for six months at that point, afraid what would happen, afraid of what he was. Using a red tipped cane, and training himself like any sightless person, he had ridden here in a taxi commissioned by the Professor, coming alone to this mostly empty place, that echoed when he tap tapped through the halls. Even blinded, Scott had gotten a sense of enormity, and isolation that he had had not had... well ever. Base housing with his family, to a hospital ward, to an orphanage, Scott was used to small and crowded and chaotic. Then, when the Professor gave him his glasses, allowing him to see again, he hadn't been able to speak when he saw this place that was to be his home. How could there be people who lived like this? How could there be this much room for one family? As the school filled up, he was grateful for that space, and now, he hardly noticed, until he was showing someone new around and remembered how it used to be for him. "So, the school grounds extend all the way to the forest perimeter," Scott pointed out at the trees. "There's a lake out that way, fed by a stream. It's all part of our property, delineated with a retaining wall that we have security monitoring on, in order to keep our students and their privacy secure. Salem thinks we're a prep school, and we don't do anything to discourage that, including outfitting students with physical mutations with image inducers, and training our kids in the proper control of their abilities so that we..." "Hello, Scott" Emma greeted with false welcoming, as she strolled up, and her preened and polished warmth made Scott's lips twitch in slightly frustrated amusement. "Emma," Scott nodded as he ignored her berating, "Professor Virgis, this is Ms. Emma Frost, our business teacher. Emma, Professor Virgis is applying with a chemistry class in mind, I believe. I wanted to give a tour, and the chance to meet some of the staff and student before he committed himself to the madhouse." |

It was funny how what you think would be a half hour project suddenly turns into a two hour job. Sometime in the mid summer she had purchased a cute little ceiling fan for her room, one with a remote that controlled the fan speed and the light. However, as life threw her for a curve, it spent months collecting dust in her closet; she had little to no motivation to install it. This day really being no different than any other, she for some reason pulled out the box and yanked out it's contents. Everything was going splendidly; she had taken down her old light fixture, put the blades on and even though it was a two man job, managed to mount the fan properly onto the ceiling. It was not without it's space swears and curses though. Seriously, those stubby, short screw were ridiculous. There were all of maybe two or three threads on them. How the hell did they expect you to both hold the fan still and get those little buggers in without them slipping out of your fingers like a million times? Stupid screws! Regardless, she had gotten past it and in the end the fan looked wonderful. That is, until she returned the power to her room and tried to switch it back on. Nothing.. That was fine, she just had to fix the wires that she had connected wrong, or so she thought. But unfortunately, it didn't end there. She managed to get the lights working but then the fan didn't work, and when the fan worked, the remote wouldn't respond. Avery had long count of how many times she had ran back and forth to the fuse box and with that her patience went out the window. Finally, she broke through her stubbornness. It was time to asked for help. Where was Scott? She checked his room first, just incase of the off chance he was there before running all around the institute. Next was his office where in fact she had without knowing just missed him. About to run down to the danger room to check there next she bumped into a student who informed her they had seen him step outside. With a quick thanks she ran up to grab her coat before they even had a chance to tell her he was with a visitor. The thought of just waiting around for him to get back to his office and be free, or actually ask someone else for help hadn't occurred to her as she was so determined to get this thing finished in done with. Scott knew a hell of a lot more in the electronics field than she did and she actually felt comfortable asking him for help. So out into the gardens she went, long black winters coat keeping her warm against the cold February wind. Not seeing him right away she called his name a few times with no response. Her mouth was half opened to call his name again, letting out a high 'Sskkk' sound before her mouth clicked shut. There standing together was him, Miss Frost and another older man she had never seen before. Her presence known now her hand had reached for her coat where her necklace sat to switch on her image inducer but there was hardly a point. There was also no point in turning away either, so with rare boldness the green hued nurse strode forward. "Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt. I…didn't know that we had a visitor." She apologized to Scott first, then glancing to Emma and their visitor with a somewhat embarrassed smile. "Miss Frost," She greeted politely, then back to Scott, she continued, "I have a small electrical problem that I need help with when you are available." Turning a little, she gave Sander a soft nod in greetings. It was possible that he was a SHIELD agent there for a visit or possibly a new teacher, the latter was what she preferred. However, she was no Emma Frost and could not discern his reasons for being there by flickering through his thoughts. She wasn't sure if it was safe to give her name despite the atmosphere seeming light enough. Instead with her little nod, she offered him a small warm smile and a soft. "Hi." Hopefully her…strange appearance didn't startle him, whoever he was. |

If the appearance of the school nurse didn't shock him, the doctor/biology teacher/upper level mathematics teacher probably would. Its not that Hank wanted to be teaching all those classes; he after all had some very important research projects that he was compiling, but he had a duty to the children none-the-less. And he had owed Scott a favor when they were devising the semester schedules this year. Of course, his duty towards the students didn't extend to all the time. He greatly enjoyed his free time. It was sad, though, for Hank, as football season had just ended, and now there was a lull in sports. There were the Olympics, Hank guessed, but outside of downhill skiing he didn't think much of them. Oh, well, this meant that now Hank had time to catch up of cinema that he had missed throughout the year. Though, as per tradition, today was going to be his annual screening of Dr. Strangelove, Hank's all time favorite film. Hank was walking back from the garage to the mansion, carrying bags of microwave popcorn and a couple Hershey's bars (and a Hershey's wrapper, as he got hungry on his drive from the grocery store to the Xavier Estate.) He was wearing his beloved Cub's baseball cap, and had already turned off his image inducer, leaving the esteemed doctor and geneticist in his full blue-furred glory. Hank was not an out-mutant when he was presenting papers at a conference, but in here, within the walls of the Xavier Estate, he could let his true colors through. "Scott, Emma... Sir," Dr. McCoy said a bit briskly to his friend/boss, the business teacher and a person that Hank didn't know. None of Hank's enhanced senses recognized the accompanying man with Scott, but by the smell of him, he was from Chicago. The smell of Lake Michigan stayed on people, for months at a time. He saw his nurse stumble out of the mansion, and he dug into his grocery bag and tossed her a bar of chocolate. "Here's looking at you, kid." |

Professor Virgis was suddenly surrounded by mutants. Having never met one in person until this day, it all came as a bit of a shock to him. The first new arrival, who introduced herself as Emma, was absolutely stunning, no question about that. And she seemed quite nice and welcoming. Then again, Sander knew he wasn't the best judge of character, so he decided not to make any conclusions based on one simple greeting. In his experience, women who looked like that usually knew what others were thinking about them, and generally learned to take advantage of their appearance. "It is a pleasure, miss Frost." he said as he shook her hand gently, afraid of coming off as a brute "Mr. Summers has been a most gracious host so far, keeping up with all of my oddities. As for advertisement.. sometimes it is best to let the product speak for itself." Unfortunately, the next arrival was not as easy on the eye for someone as sheltered as Sander. He instinctively stepped back as the green-skinned lady approached. His eyes were fixed on her, examining every exposed part of her, not believing his eyes. He was an avid Star Trek fan, and as such was used to finding beauty in green-skinned, purple-skinned and forehead-ridged ladies. But to see one where her skin and hair were obviously a natural green was a bit more disconcerting. After a few seconds, he composed himself and, seeing how obvious his reaction had been, immediately offered his apologies. "I am very sorry for the way I reacted. This is all just a little... sudden for me. I do hope I didn't offend you, miss.." he trailed off, as he just recalled they had not been introduced. The last arrival was even more distressing than the green-skinned lady. He was a very large, blue, hairy man. When Sander saw him, he was terrified. This 'man' was e true terror to behold. He could only imagine what would happen if he got him angry. A mutant with such strength could probably literally tear him limb from limb. 'Calm down, Sander.. This person is older, so he is obviously not a student, therefore he must be a teacher or staff. It is highly doubtful that a school with such an important goal would risk so much by bringing in such an obvious danger.' he thought to himself to try to calm himself down. However, it didn't have the desired result, so he had to resort to altering his brain chemistry to remove the irrational fear he was feeling. Having done that, he nodded a greeting at the hairy blue person, then turned to Summers, waiting to be introduced to the two new arrivals. |

First Avery and then Hank joined the growing group, and beside Scott, Virgis took an uneasy step backwards. Without commenting on it, Scott put out his hand, and steadied the startled man, realizing that for the common person, the very uncommon that was every day life here could get a little overwhelming. Deciding that the best course of action would be to make no remark on the singular appearances of their core members of the medical staff (interesting that with the addition of Elixir, the healers of this school, the most compassionate and human of them all, were all three amongst the least human to the eyes), and Scott introduced, "Professor Virgis, this is Nurse Avery Doyle and Dr. Henry McCoy, our medical staff, and both graduates of the school that we were lucky enough to retain after graduation. Avery, Hank, this is Professor Alexander Virgis, late of Chicago University, he's considering taking up our vacancy in the science department." Glancing at Virgis, with the whole head movement that compensated for his constantly shielded eyes, Scott said, "Hank's got, what is it now, seven or eight degrees in everything from biology to hair care, I'm sure you two could talk for hours on this or that scientific principle that I'm sure would be way over my head. I imagine Hank will be happy not to have to keep dumbing it down the way he has to when talking to the rest of us." Looking over to Avery, Scott added, "Is your electrical problem an emergency or something I can see too in a few minutes?" He supposed he could leave the tour to their capable hands, but considering Virgis's clear uneasiness around Avery and Hank, and Emma's less than trustworthy personality, he was not incredibly comfortable forcing the skitterish Professor into their sole company. |

A new teacher. On one level, it was exciting. Rahne Sinclair enjoyed meeting new people, with new ideas and new personalities. She had always been a sociable creature by nature, and took pleasure in meeting and greeting, especially if it was someone who was coming in to help with "the great noble cause". On the other hand, it was something to be wary of. Not everyone was necessarily good, not everyone was to be trusted. Was this new guy like that? Was she going to have to be careful around him, to watch her students extra carefully to make sure that this new guy didn't take advantage of them or hurt them? That was the other side of her canine nature. As exciting as meeting new people was, there was also the temptation to assume that every new person was a threat and to treat them all that way. But logically, Scott wouldn't have allowed him in if he was a threat. He had been in charge of people long enough to be a very good judge of character, and he simply would not allow him in if he had an inkling of the guy being untrustworthy. "So, what's this?" Rahne asked with a small smile as she stepped up to join the gathering around the new guy. Her look was entirely casual, with light blue jeans, a black t-shirt with a wolf perched on a rock howling at the moon (a tad bit cliche, but it was a Christmas present and she liked it) and her gold crucifix around her neck. She prefered to go barefoot if she could help it, and this time was no exception. "Is it Smother-The-New-Guy Day again?" |

Where is everybody? Jack was an observant one, and what he had been observing for some time was a strange lack of faculty in the school. It wasn't as though there was an emergency or some time-dependent task that he needed some help with, but Jack merely noticed that no one seemed to be around or in their office. And as he traversed the halls, Jack was becoming only slightly nervous for atypical reasons. Did I miss a memo for a meeting? Being late for a gathering of faculty wouldn't make a good impression. He was just about to get worried until he passed a large bay window that opened out towards the grounds, and from there he could make out a cluster of what appeared to be a good portion of the school's staff, judging by Hank's blue fur and Avery's green skin. Whatever they were convening for, it seemed like it could be important. Cursing under his breath, Jack fidgeted, trying to determine a course of action for himself. Pure ignorance of whatever was going on was a possibility. He could take the stairs down and join them. ....or.. The window was just right there, staring him in the face, the sun high enough to where its light only shone through at an angle. Jack fished his sunglasses out of his pocket and put them on before he began to fiddle with the latch on the window. Tenderly, trying not to break the frame, he pushed it up until it caught, the hole not quite big enough for him to fit through. "Oh what the....," Jack muttered, leaning up under the gap a little, just enough for him to get a better look at the window.. and for his shades to fall three stories down into the bushes. Jack shut his eyes out of reflex and ducked back inside. "Well shit.." He jerked the window up with a little more force and squinted as he leaned out, trying to see where his sunglasses went. There had to be some way to fix his eyes, he felt like a mole person climbing out of the sewers every time he went out in daylight, but there wasn't anything Jack could do right now about that. His spine clicked and cracked forcefully as he shifted while he slipped between the sill and the window panes. Jack shut the window before he dropped to the ground, narrowly avoiding crashing into the manicured shrubs outside the first floor. Carefully, he picked among the leaves until he found his shades nestled between two tiny branches and folded his sunglasses around his metal dog tags. He glanced back over towards the group and noted that they hadn't moved and in fact had more members than the last time he looke. Curious and concerned, Jack dropped to all fours and trotted towards them, his ears perked forward intently. He could hear Rahne amongst them Is it Smother-The-New-Guy Day again? New guy? Once Jack was close enough he stood up slowly and silently to get a better look, although he didn't really have to try too hard, very ominous at his height of almost seven feet. He gave his tail a friendly wag, chuffing, testing the air out of habit and detecting something rather noxious to his nose. Jack glanced in Avery's direction, eyeing the glint of foil suspiciously. "Is that chocolate?" |

It wasn’t the first impression she was hoping for, though the reaction could’ve been a lot worse. He had been taken aback by her appearance even so much to take an actual step back. She wasn’t offended, she showed no signs of being hurt or upset by it. Though she supposed she would never get used to people looking at her in such a way, she was used to showing that she was not bothered by it. And at least he was polite about the whole situation. "I am very sorry for the way I reacted. This is all just a little... sudden for me. I do hope I didn't offend you, miss.." He apologized and she smiled and gave him a soft nod, accepting his apology. As he reached out for her name, she was about to introduce herself when Hank strolled up to group. Needless to say he distracted Sander and by his reaction, frightened him a tad. Holding an armful of groceries, he greeted the group and fished into his grocery bag before looking to his little nurse. "Here's looking at you, kid." With bit of gentleness and ease, she caught the chocolate bar out of the air and looked at it as she held it in both of her hands. Milk chocolate and hazelnut; one of her favorites. He smiled warmly up to Hank, always tickled pink by anything given to her no matter what it was, and voiced her appreciation. “Thank you.” Having two new faces for Sander to meet, Scott stepped up to introduce him to Hank and Avery and explained that this ‘Alexander Virgis’ was a hopeful for teaching their science courses. To this Avery nodded again to Sander in the introduction and politely said, “Nice to meet you.” Looking over to Avery, Scott added, "Is your electrical problem an emergency or something I can see too in a few minutes?" She glanced back to Scott, feeling a little sheepish about interrupting him and his tour for such a minor difficulty. “No…its nothing big. I’m just having trouble with a light fixture installation. There’s no rush; you were just the one I thought to go to first. Maybe…Hank can help me instead?” Avery’s violet orbs turned to her blue furred mentor with a small smile and hopeful look. "So, what's this? Is it Smother-The-New-Guy Day again?" It certainly seemed that way, didn’t it. Avery couldn’t recall a chance gathering to meet a new staff member like this, ever… Rahne’s words broadened Avery smile; it was amusing after all. But she couldn’t help but look at the red head’s attire and shiver a little. It was winter and she was just wearing jeans and a t-shirt, and no shoes at that. How could she stand it?! She herself had only been outside no more than ten minutes and she was freezing her tush off. No matter, she didn’t plan on being out much longer anyway. She would be alright just for a little bit. Avery’s long fluted ears then flickered by the sound of approaching feet, not two but four, in fact. From the corner of her eye she could see Jack trotting up towards them, soon changing his stature to rise to his full height. Jack was her wall mate, having the room next to hers, and some nights she could swear that she could hear him whining in his sleep but simply chalked it up to her imagination. Upon his arrival his tail began to wag and he sniffed the air, eyes suddenly upon Avery, or more accurately, her chocolate bar. "Is that chocolate?" He asked, as he looked at it with suspicion in his eyes that Avery thought nothing of. “Jack,” She said his name in a ‘Cheers’ esque sort of way before answering him. “Yes ,it is.” Then, as one would expect from the young nurse, she tore back the foil, snapped off a generous number of blocks and held it out to him politely. “Would you like some?” |

"I-it is a pleasure to meet both of you." Sander said, looking at Dr. McCoy and nurse Doyle. If it hadn't been for the subtle manipulation of his brain, he probably would have run away screaming by now. Nurse Doyle seemed okay, she was just... green. Nothing that scary. The blue man, however, was enormous. He looked like a beast from a storybook. Sander saw yet another person arrive. A very attractive young lady... who was wearing a t-shirt and jeans and no shoes. Huh. Well, it was far from the weirdest thing he had seen so far, though looking at her did cause him to shiver a little. Her comment about smothering the new guy made him chuckle. 'She seems nice, though I wonder what she wears when it's warmer...' Sander thought to himself, then scolded himself for having such thoughts. He decided to take the first step this time. "Hello, my name is Alexander Virgis, I am applying for the position of chemistry teacher." Sander said and extended a hand towards the apparently very warm-blooded woman. This was really getting to be weird. There was something wrong in the whole picture, but he couldn't put his finger on it. Why was each and every teacher in this school a mutant? Surely there were regular people that also saw the injustice and would want to help. After all, his own mutant powers had nothing to do with his decision to do so. He had never been harassed as a mutant, so there was no deep emotional reason for him to be there. He simply saw injustice and wanted to do what he can to help fix it. Those questions, however, would most likely be answered later. After all, he had not yet signed a contract, so he could leave anytime he wanted and not look back. "Is that chocolate?" Sander heard another voice. A voice that sounded very intimidating. But hee was prepared for just about anything this time. He had given himself the necessary treatment and was now completely calm. The person he saw might've otherwise made him soil himself with fear, but now - it was just another mutant with a peculiar power. He smiled at him and stated plainly "Hello." The idea was still a little strange for Sander, even after all these years. The thought that he could be terrified in one moment, and in the next could be perfectly calm. Or that he could be depressed beyond belief, but was only seconds away from pure euphoria. He hadn't considered what the others might think, however, considering he almost fell after he saw Dr. McCoy and even stepped back when he say nurse Doyle, but was perfectly okay with looking a giant half-wolf in the eyes and smiling about it. After this, he turned again to Avery looking completely calm, obviously not bothered in the least that she was... well, green. "I could help you, miss Doyle, if that is okay with you. I have a... gift when it comes to electrical problems." he offered. |

Rahne reached out and vigorously shook Sander's hand. Sure enough, she was fairly warm. Even in human form, colder temperatures didn't bother her much. Due in part to having lived most of her life on a small island in the very northern Atlantic ocean, due in part to having wolf genes. She could sense the man's fear, his nervousness. With Hank right there, and Avery as well, he was being quite full-on treated to the quote-on-quote "inhuman" aspects of mutantkind. It was entirely possible that he hadn't any exposure to visibly mutated mutants before. It made her glad she chose to remain fully humanoid for now. She gave small nods of greeting each to Scott, Hank, Emma, and Avery before returning her attentions fully to Mister Virgis. "Pleasure t' meet ye, Mister Virgis," she said with a sharp nod of her head. Despite being fairly petite, her grip was strong. "Rahne Sinclair. I teach th' wee ones and I run a class f'r the ferals." Speaking of which... Rahne glanced back as Jack came padding forward in his wolf form, and when he finally stood up, he loomed over the rest of the group by head and shoulders at the very least. "Jack..." she gently admonished, with a small smile. "I think ye might be frightening him a wee bit." |

Hank was actually kind of in a hurry. If he got to the infirmary break room, he could squeeze in Strangelove before his Biology class and then come back for more Kubrick. He was thinking 2001 but he wasn't entirely sure. He gave his nurse a wink and turned on his heel to listen to Scott make his introduction. Apparently this man had the educational credentials to rival Hank's own. "Well, either that, or you guys are going to discover that I've been faking it all these years," Hank said with a smile, extending a massive paw to the applicant. "You taught at Chicago? I did a chunk of my undergrad work at Northwestern, just up the lake from you guys." Hank was a bit shocked to see Rahne and Jack come into the picture. Jack was a simple shock, just because he didn't think that he would just walk around in his werewolf form. Hank felt his furry form was offputting, drove people away. He didn't like that, and he didn't understand why someone would choose to do that. Rahne, on the other hand, shouldn't be out of the classroom in the middle of a day on a February afternoon. Hank only taught a handful of classes, and spent most of his day either in the lab or in the infirmary. (The infirmary had better coffee.) He had a lot on his plate, but he also had a certain amount of time to himself everyday. Rahne wasn't teaching on a part-time schedule like Hank was. She was the grade school teacher. She had to be looking after her students. Hopefully, they were just at recess or something. Otherwise, the school steering committee was going to have to have some very harsh words with her. "Miss Sinclair, how are your classes going?" Hank said, trying to be diplomatic about the situation in the presence of a potential new faculty member. "I can help you with your problem, Avery," Hank said, silently wishing that it, at least, wouldn't take long. He had a movie to watch. "Or so can Mister... Virgis, was it? Your choice." |

Yes, it is. Would you like some? Jack instinctively recoiled as though Avery had just offered him a doggie treat as she offered him a piece of chocolate. "No! I mean.. um.. sorry.. uh.. I'm deathly allergic to the stuff.." 'Deathly' was a highly appropriate word for it, as even less than a copious amount could cause him to have seizures or internal bleeding, definitely not a way he wanted to spend a day off. Hello. Jack shifted his attention to the supposed 'new guy'. His rigid composure suggested his apprehension of Jack's presence. Wolfsbane gently reprimanded him. Jack... I think ye might be frightening him a wee bit. Jack hesitated at this statement, taking a mental note of who was present. He hadn't paused to think that he was steps above being a different color or barefoot. "Oh.. sorry.. I... yeah.. sorry..," a crack signified Jack's spine shifting, and his body shrank down to his original size, while he put his sunglasses on in the process. "I thought it was okay... since..," he looked trapped for a moment and before he let it go. "...nevermind." Despite his easygoing demeanor, he was definitely the scariest looking out of all of them, and his agreeable nature couldn't make up for the fact that his claws were three inches long and pointy. Feeling uncomfortable, he shifted from one foot to the other. "Er.. I'm Jack by the way.." Perhaps he was getting too comfortable around these people. |

"My classes?" Rahne asked, a bit dumbfounded that he'd ask. He went for innoculousness in his tone and words, but she knew him well enough to know what was going on there. And it hurt her, it did. That after all this time, she clearly didn't have his trust. She was sure that she'd be trusted by now, but clearly, that wasn't the case. What a shame. But still, she could play around with this. "My classes?" she repeated. "Oh, no! I've forgotten all about them! The children! I'm sure they're climbing up an' down the walls, raidin' yuir laboratory f'r drugs, an' wreckin' every painting in the entire school!" She paused a bit, and then smirked. She was a terrible fibber, and everyone knew it. She was about as good at fooling someone as she was at cooking Asian cuisine, and she was awful at that. "I'm kidding, obviously,"she said with a shrug of her shoulders. "They're in gym class with Mister Judd. It's where they go every day after lunch. Today's kickball, I believe. Trust me, Mister McCoy, I know what I'm doin'." She glanced back over to Jack as he shifted to a more suitable form for meeting strangers and smiled. "Thanks, Jack. Yuir still up for tonight's run?" |
