Now, Plastic had noticed a few Morlocks going to this tunnel with some kid and coming back without him, and of course the reverse. A little discreet asking around, and she had an answer. It led to Xavier's. Her brother's school. Wasn't that interesting. Now, she most certainly did not want to go anywhere near the place. It intimidated her a bit, to say the least, and she was more than a little guilty about not stopping by earlier- say, months ago, to tell her brother that she was a mutant. She had a way of postponing things she didn't want to deal with until its suddenly a few years later and 'too late' seems to be the answer. Which was NOT going to happen when it came to her girly older brother. He so could not survive the real world without her.

It was a good thing she didn't feel the cold as easily as she had as a human. She was just wearing a black tank top, jeans, and black heeled boots. Surely she was freezing, but it didn't bother her much. Just faintly registered that it was cool out. Luckily it was the same for the heat, she didn't want to be all melty and gross during the summer.. though maybe it hadn't been so bad merely 'cause her powers hadn't been fully developed at the time..

Walking through the woods, she hoped she was going in the right direction when she reached a path. Following it hopefully, she was led out of the forest to the mansion grounds. For a moment she hesitated, then her chin went up and she stalked through the grounds towards the front door. She'd probably be able to get in without help since the gates, if she remembered correctly, were locked and all, but still.. she stood at the front door and knocked. And waited, hoping that she wasn't going to be lectured or anything, they were a bit uptight here and she wasn't...

"Anyone hooooooome?" she called out in a sing-song voice, shifting the bag she carried from one shoulder to the other habitually. The weight wasn't bothering her, it was just.. well, habit. She had a present. It might not be awesome, but hopefully it'd get the message across. You're stuck with me, at least when I feel like annoying you. You may jump with joy now.. "It's Kelly's birthday and he needs to be tormented," she complained to the door a few moments later. She wasn't exactly a patient person.

Oh, what was this girl doing? She was making a long and arduous trek so she can deliver a birthday present? Wasn't this the plot of a bad Kevin Costner movie? And a half-way decent Tom Hanks movie? You know, the one with a volleyball? Actually, come to think of it, were there that many Kevin Costner movies that couldn't be described as 'bad'? Wold these questions ever cease?

Satyr decided to tag along with the new girl, to make sure she didn't become a bunch of strips of plastic blown apart by Artie's schools teachers. They could be an overzealous bunch. Kind of scary actually. Sarah was afraid that all those eyebeams and training sessions would take him from lovable little goofball Artie into like, some sort of little army dude. Worse than what they claimed violent video games would do to a little dude like that.

Satyr clip-clopped her way behind Plastic. She figured she had met a handful of people here before, what with her traveling back and forth for Artie so often, that if they saw her, they wouldn't be so suspicious of Luce.

"We really shouldn't be here, Lucy" Satyr said, skittish at the thought. First, the X-men probably didn't like having unannounced guests on their doorstop, what with their billion dollar planes and basketball courts. Second, it wasn't exactly encouraged for Morlocks to go topside for frivolous matters. "I mean, did you even talk to Eldan or Callisto?" Satyr didn't suggest she talk to Sack. She wasn't mean enough to try to make the girl do that.

Enhanced hearing, particularly enhanced to a degree that Rahne Sinclair had, made for one hell of an attentive greeter. Her bedroom window was rarely not open, allowing her to hear very clearly the sounds from outside. Someone shouting, something about a birthday, then tell-tale hoofsteps following behind.

Rahne was just enough of an action junkie (a tiny bit, really - not so much withe the violence, but the running, jumping, climbing stuff) that she truly enjoyed answering the front door via leaping out of her bedroom window, skating down the rooftop on her thickened, paw-like feet, and landing safely on the ground thanks to lupine strength and agility.

She made it a point as she walked around the side to the front to shift back into a basic human form before becoming visible. Werewolves were frightening to most people, after all, and, she would imagine, especially to someone who was part goat, a fairly common prey animal of wolves.

"Hullo, Sarah," Rahne greeted with a small nod of her head and a smile. The other young lady she didn't recognize. She smelled like a fresh doll right out of the package, and looked quite like one as well. Her movements sounded faintly like fingers rubbing on a balloon.
Will wonders never cease? she thought with a small smile and a chuckle.

The fact that this woman was a living chew toy more or less didn't escape Rahne. It was just good that Rahne didn't have those kinds of compulsory habits.

"Yuir a wee bit early f'r the pickup, aren't ye? Everything's alright?"

"You didn't have to come, Sarah..."

"But thanks. I've been here to visit my brother a few years back, but its.. weird. If you know what I mean?" She'd been pretty certain then, that they had been brainwashing their students or something. She wasn't sure if Satyr had the same thoughts on the place or what, but it would be fine she was sure. She was certain, when it came to her brother, that everything would be sorted out.

"I haven't even met those people yet," Luce said, when Sarah asked if she'd asked Eldan or Callisto. Anyway, she didn't like asking permission to do whatever, after the last few years of extreme overbearing parenting. Easier to ask forgiveness; at least then she already got to do what she wanted. "Should I have?" she asked innocently. "I haven't been allowed to talk to my brother since our older sis died 'cause of some riot during a mutant rights thing her college friends were involved in. I just have to talk to him, okay?"

"Hi, I'm Luce. Um. We're not picking anyone up.." she said, suddenly less confident. That was really fast. "My brother lives here, and its his birthday, and I wanted to see him. Do you know Kelly.." She stopped, gave a nervous laugh, and corrected herself. "Kelrian. Alther. Haven't been able to talk to him for a while. A few years, actually. He still lives here, I hope?" And that was what she was really worried about, now. What if he wasn't at the school anymore? He was twenty now, he didn't need to stay here, maybe if he left they'd know where to find him?

Vic had seen the Morlocks coming from a window, and immediately headed downstairs to greet them. He hadn't recognized the girl, but he did recognize the goat woman. She was usually the one picking up and dropping off Artie. He'd seen her around the tunnels when he visited for christmas, but had never actually spoken to her.

No better time than the present. Besides, the goat woman looked a bit uneasy, and it wasn't time for Artie to go back to the tunnels. Their early arrival worried Vic, somewhat.

He made it to the foyer just as the bell rang, and opened the door.

"Hey guys. What's up?" It took him a second to realize Rahne was already there, and he opened the door and stepped aside, to let them inside. It was March, and going along with that old saying, it was windy. No reason to hang about outside if it could be avoided.

"Kel?" Wait, this was his sister? Vic hadn't known that Kelrian had any siblings. "My name's Vic." He held his normal hand out to shake. "I know Kel. I think he's around here, somewhere." He hadn't really seen Kel today, but he couldn't imagine where he could have gone.

"Yeah, I could have not come, and then you'd be all alone for that one guy with the claws to cut to pieces," Sarah kvetched, "Its not safe for Morlocks to be going out alone to the topside. You needed someone to watch your tuchus. Or would you like us plotzing all over ourselves back in the tunnels?" When Sarah got defensive, she started sounded more and more like her grandmother Wexler. Oy vey.

She found it a bit hard that the new girl hadn't ever met Eldan or Callisto. Its not like they weren't hard to notice. They did a pretty good job of projecting that unquantifiable mystique of authority. And Callisto could be pretty territorial. Surely at least one of the little triumvirate would have scoped out the new chick by now, wouldn't they? Feh, whatever. Maybe this plastic girl wasn't threatening enough for Callisto to go all She-Rambo on.

Oh, crap, Sarah thought to herself, Her again. This wasn't the first time that she had met the red-headed teacher (obviously, since this chick knew her name) but every single time, Sarah had to panic a few seconds to remember her name. It was something odd, something that you probably don't find in most baby name books. "Hey, uh, Rain," she said after hesitating.

Another Xavier guy, someone who had a connection to the tunnels came up. This one was down in the tunnels occasionally, but he seemed kind of shy, and never said a word to her.

"Oh, a birthday? Hmm. Well, I cannae say I'm familiar with yuir brother, but we c'n always call him over to the front office," Rahne said with a small smile and a nod of her head. She glanced over to Sarah, who seemed to be much more nervous than the rubber girl. What a sad life they must have lived, to be so distrustful. It wasn't like Rahne was going to bite. Well, not without reason, at least.

"Hey, ye remember me!" she said, her smile widening some. It was always nice to be remembered. "Well, come on in, come on in. Vic here c'n show ye to the office. An' could I get either of ye anythin'? Spot of tea? Maybe a soda? 'Tis no trouble, really."

She still couldn't really understand the Morlock mentality. Why they chose to live underground when there was not only this school, but Mutant Town as well. There were better options than living an existence only a step above that of homeless people, so why the tunnels? There were definitely more extreme-looking mutants in the school, like Santo, or even Vic here. So what was it about them that made them choose to live in tunnels when they could have comfort and security?

"Eh, what?" she said to Sarah. A guy with claws to cut her apart? Last she'd been here, they'd been a bit overzealous, but- maybe they were a bit strained over the whole Apocalypse and the world being out to get mutants thing.. honestly, Luce had no idea. "No, I mean, I meant, I'm glad you came, but you didn't have to. I've been beating up the bigger, tougher kids since my lil pansy of an older brother first met the school yard bullies," she said with a slight giggle. She liked to make fun of her brother. It was just nature. Siblings had to make fun of each other or otherwise annoy the hell outta each other. "Anyway, I don't think I can get hurt, really. I'm just.. plastic."

Another odd laugh. It was about then the red-haired woman came from the side, Luce chattered at her semi-nervously, and the door was opened. From another mutant inside, and not the woman's powers, she noted. The green boy must have overheard, 'cause he repeated Kel's name... well, his nickname. "Oh, good. Nice to meet ya, Vic," she said in a moderately friendly manner. She knew how to behave herself when the situation warranted it, believe it or not. It was good of him to invite them inside. She wasn't all that cold, even in a tank top, but Sarah had to be chilly.

"Yep, he's twenty, today. I would have baked a cake, but, well, unlike my dear brother I can't cook worth shit. Lucky for me I don't need to.." A shake of her head. Okay, so she had a bit of a tendency to ramble on about inconsequential things when she was nervous. She hadn't seen him in years. Was he mad at her for not calling? She hoped he wasn't mad. Though she couldn't imagine him being mad at her for long.

"Nothing for me, thanks. I don't really need anything, and, well. I imagine.. drinking something hot would have the same effect as the hair dryer did.." And she laughed, as if the idea was quite funny. It had freaked her out a bit, having her hair melted almost to the scalp for a bit until she could figured out that she could manipulate it back to a normal look. Though she'd ended up cutting a lot of her hair off before then..

Vic was glad to learn that the Morlocks weren't there to tell them of some dire circumstance or mortal peril. It seemed that a single active X-Gene set one up for a lifetime of random life-threatening happenings. Malls were always set on fire the DAY you decided to pick up a new pair of shoe, or an airplane gets hijacked and you and your friends just so happen to be the only mutants on board.

For all the people who thought being a mutant was a curse, they could take heart in the fact that no longer would they be bored. All they had to was take a trip to a local restaraunt and wait. Some crazy villain with pizza-shaped razor discs would be along soon enough.

Nodding at Wolfsbane, Anole made a regal sweep of his arm, bidding the guests enter. As he led the way, Vic was mostly quiet.

"Are you doing alright in the tunnels? Anything you guys need?" Vic was feeling a bit bad about leaving the tunnels, however temporary, and if there was something the Morlocks needed that they weren't getting, he wanted to help however he could. Just because he wasn't around didn't mean he'd abandoned them.

Kel hadn't been looking out the windows. He'd been outside, running. He did that a lot, you know. This time, though, he wasn't alone. His roomie and friend, Mittens... er, Robert. He was going rather slower than usual, since Robbie didn't usually run with him and had a rather shorter stride. But it was nice of his friend to have come along.

After yesterday, Kel wasn't feeling so great. His father hadn't realized, of course, that Luce hadn't been living at the school for the past three months. That she'd been missing. When Kel had found out that she was missing, he had freaked out and went searching for her. Of course, without results, unless you counted finding out that there was and end to his endurance a result. And that maybe he should wear jackets in the winter after all, if he's planning to be out for more than a few hours.. It didn't even hit him that today was the third. Of March. A few days ago he was feeling moderately cheerful about turning twenty, but then.. well, lets say the thought was just swept out in a whirlwind of worry.

They were nearing the end of the trail, one of the trails that looped through the forest, a short while after Satyr and Luce had come through. Too late to have seen them on the way. No, it wasn't until they'd come around to the front, that Kel spotted them. Rahne, Vic, one of the Morlocks, and a girl with short.. blond.. hair... She'd cut off her hair! Kel stopped in his tracks. It was unmistakable. It was his little sister. Outside. With just a tank top and jeans? The hell?

"Luce?!" he started running toward the front door, and the girl that had been about to follow Vic into the mansion stopped and turned to him. "You- why aren't you wearing a coat? And you chopped your hair off- and where have you been?!" He grabbed a hold of her shoulders, ready to drag her inside out of the cold. They were cold, and.. felt odd. Not quite like her bony shoulders should. And they were a bit shiny. In fact, she was pretty shiny in general, like... like... plastic? It was something of a surprise, that his little sister was suddenly here. He'd been so worried.

Wrapping his arms around her in a hug, he dragged her skinny frame into the building after Vic despite her protesting being hauled around. "Hey," he said to his friend, smiling, "This is Luce." Only part of his family that mattered anymore. Of course she was going to be staying; it didn't even enter his mind that this was just a visit.

Yesterday Kel, for the first time in years, slept. It worried his roommate greatly. Mittens in fact had been woken up when Kel came back after being gone all day. He'd heard from his sister about Kel's loss of anger but she knew as much details as the next person, which was nothing. So, being worried, Mittens stared at the oddity of his sleeping roommate until boredom took. Instead of returning to sleep himself, he worked on some class reading until Kel woke suspecting correctly he would not sleep long.

So, today, he followed his friend and roommate. Which meant he went for the first time ever on a run through the woods that had nothing to do with feral class or training. If not for his watching Kel, just in case he fainted like he used to from exhaustion, then the run would have been much more enjoyable. Sounds and scents distracted him momentarily as he followed after his friend.

By now Mittens knew of Luce missing. Whenever Kel's siblings visited the mansion he would make himself scarce. So, he had never actually met her. Her last visit seemed as long as the last time Kel had slept, years ago. It infuriated Mittens to find out that Kel's own family had not contacted him about her mutantancy and disappearance. For one who did not have a family outside Xavier's it maddened him how little a family could care about their children. It mattered not if they were mutants. Mittens kept his anger to himself. He knew enough that more than one student here had no ties to their living families anymore.

"Luce?!"

Kel's sudden outburst made Mittens stop running. He sniffed the air trying to pick out the scents he was not familiar with. Both Vic and Miss Sinclair were present but there were two scents he could not place. One actually did not smell, he dared call it, human. But surely, one of the two had to be Kel's sister. Wasting no more time he ran after his roommate.

Strangely Kel's concern for Luce reminded him of when Anne Lee finally arrived at the front gates of Xavier's. She had nearly hugged him to death and critiqued every little change about him since she'd last saw him. This was no time for a stroll down memory lane or remembering that his sister had left him to fend for himself as he made his way to the mutant school he barely believed existed. "Hello Luce," he greeted with a toothy grin. For his roommate's sake he would be cordial to a new person.
