Kimberly was standing at the gates to her parent's mansion. Tears had filled her eyes as she beheld the ruins of her childhood home. So many bad memories were in the ruble, but she couldn't help cry. Cause she knew what it meant, it confirmed all her fears and all the pain, all the fear, all the anxiousness, it built up in her knees and brought her to ground, as if gravity had taken a hold of her. Jayson and Kel were in the car. She had wanted to go alone but now she could hardly bring herself to her feet.

It was a sadness, so powerful and profound to Kimberly, something she had never experienced first hand, that she felt it ache in her bones, in her blood, in her tears. She screamed out and stood up suddenly, a hydrant burst from the ground and the water gushed in her direction, slamming through the locked gate.

"This isn't fucking fair!" she cursed, something Kimberly rarely did in anger. The geyser spiraled back to her, as if pulled into a orbit around her and then shot back as she ran towards the ruins. Slamming cement and wood into the air. "I never said goodbye!"

The sky darkened as she drew water from every direction. Rain falling as her control slipped away from her. She continued slamming the rubble like a child pounds on walls when they have a fit. She did this for a while before falling back to her knees and burying her face in her hands. "It's all gone. Mom...Dad...my old home..." she sobbed and balled up there.

She knew what she would find, the whole time she knew. She thought it would hurt less if she accepted it before they came, thats why she took so long coming back here. Two years. She had been gone for two years.

"Mommy...Daddy..." She pulled her self into a ball, her feet planted on the ground and the rest of her shaking haphazardly until she fell to her rear and unfolded onto her back, staring up at the sky, which was raining. "I am sorry..." She wasn't even sure what she was sorry for. Being a mutant? That was long past. Being a bad daughter? Maybe... her dad had done a good job of drilling that in when she was little.

She was soaked through to her skin before she pulled herself into a sitting position. "Did they even get a funeral? Or..." She did not even want to consider it, to consider her parents had been destroyed when all this happened.
