April 14th 1:45 PM "Yes, Daniel I understand how important the meeting was however may I remind you to take notice of the name on the stationary what does it say? That's right it says Frost, and you Daniel McCready are not Emma Frost. So it will do you well to keep that in mind. You darling are replaceable, I am not. It's my company, my business, and if I say I'm too busy to make an appointment then the appointment changes for me I do not change for it. Now since I'm busy and feeling a bit Christian I'm going to overlook your flippancy and let you keep your job, and your mental functions. Reschedule the damn meeting, and I'll be there. I said I would Daniel, I'm not going to repeat myself again" Emma slammed the phone into the receiver. She opened her desk drawer and retrieved a bottle of aspirin, poured out two and swallowed them sans water. Since founding her company she had never missed one important meeting, not one. And yet this one had slipped her mind, a bad omen to a woman who valued her mental strength nearly above everything else. She could blame it on several things, her blackberry's failure, the fault of employees who should have know better then to allow such a thing to happen without getting in touch with her. But the truth was the fault was all her own. She had simply and utterly forgotten. The school had taken president. With the switches, the advanced workload now that the staff was down it's most prominent members, she simply didn't have the time. She felt called to be where she was needed the most, and that was here. It was a scary thought to realize, but Emma Frost had officially started putting Xaviers first. She emptied out two more aspirin from the bottle and swallowed them as well. Heaven help her if that was the case. She relaxed a little in her seat. Even with the advance work load the telepath felt a sense of accomplishment. She had finally begun the rise to the ranks of power she had always known should be hers. With Scott indisposed and Jean busy keeping her new and improved husband in line, most of the duties had fallen to her to see to, or she had claimed them as having fallen to her. It was not so much as them relinquishing the power to her as it was her taking it for herself. But one did what one had to do, it was the way of corporate success. What was the difference really when you thought about it. Schools, companies, both should be ran with an iron fist. She was in mid-gloat when her revelry was broken by Kitty Pryde walking into her office through the wall. When the dark haired phaser walked into her office not bothering to knock on the door or even to open it Emma felt her temper burn up some. The X-man had a lot of gall to do such a thing. It showed an utter lack of respect, though when dealing with Kitty Emma wasn't surprised. The girl had always shown her little fan fare. "Can I help you Kitty since your above knocking I assume this is important." Emma looked at the phaser slicing her with an icy stare. She was not alone though as Kitty was returning it herself with a look that Emma knew would kill if it could. |

Kitty looked at the blond vixen sitting so haughtily in her desk chair, as though she was a queen on a throne and this place her kingdom. It made the phaser's blood boil. Kitty had called this school home for the majority of her grown up life, and the people inside it her family. She cared and loved them all with one huge blaring screaming to the heavens exception, Emma "White Queen" Frost. Nothing in the telepaths demeanor, countenance, person or actions merited her continued presence here. Emma was trouble, bad news with big breast, and someone who would burn her own mother if she thought it would aid her own wishes. Why Scott and the Professor allowed the woman's continued sanctuary was beyond Kitty's scope of thinking. Emma had abandoned them once before, and once a traitor always a traitor. Kitty Pryde liked to believe in second chances, maybe even in third and fourth ones, but not where the likes of Emma Frost were concerned. Some people were just rotten from conception, and no amount of trust and understanding afforded them could change that. This woman, this former Hellfire clubber would never be more then the sum of who she had been because Emma Frost, Kitty believed, only ever cared for Emma Frost. The telepath was here because she deigned to be, and the X-men afforded her a place to have all the safety of being nestled in the inside while still reaching her tentacles around them and strangling them all while they slept. That to Kitty Pryde was who Emma Frost was. Scott hadn't been disposed of for days before the vacuous bimbo had begun her move. Cementing her standing amongst the students, always showing up to take over duties that had belonged to and were far better done by Scott or Jean. Kitty had held her tongue. There was simply too much to be dealt with to take the time to deal with Emma's conniving and need for control. Kitty had tried her damnedest to hold her peace, but in the end she couldn't. She may have lacked the power to throw the tramp out on her 'haute couture' ass but she could damn sure give the woman a piece of her mind." "I only knock for people I respect, and you Emma I most certainly do not. I know you think your smart, slithering around here, trying to take over. Well let me be the first to tell you no one's buying what your selling. I don't know what Scott was thinking when he let you come back here, but Scott Summers is a better man then most of us, better then me and worth a million of you. He believes that people can change, that they can be more then their past. But your the exception to that rule Emma." Kitty walked closer to the telepath seated behind her desk. The more she talked the madder she made herself, and the more Emma seemed to be relishing it which only in turn made Kitty angrier. Who else would enjoy upsetting her then Emma Frost. "You may show everyone two faces, but I know you see it all with one set of eyes. You stink of it Emma, and not just your overindulgence of tawdry perfume. But in your animosity and cruelty. You've never changed. Change isn't a word you understand White Queen. You'll turn tail and run again when everyone needs you or worse, and when you do I'm going to personally be there and in between my fit of jubilant I told you so. I'm gonna take the distinct pleasure of kicking your sorry nipped tucked sucked plucked lifted and implanted ass to the curb." Kitty brushed a strand of her dark brown hair behind her ears and looked at the creature behind the desk, human in creation only. "Just an FYI, girl to girl. of course" |

Emma surveyed the insipid girl haughtily. That Kitty had the gall to come in here and accost her in such a fashion didn't surprise Emma too much. Xavier's may have claimed an equal to all social system but Emma knew that this school had an inner circle just like her old stomping grounds did. Kitty Pryde for too long had been the pretty pretty princess of this organization. The Kid sister Skipper to the senior X-men and all around pain in the ass to Emma Frost. Like that mother figure she looked up to Jean Grey-Summers, Kitty regarded people for how she wanted to see them. In this morality tale the phaser needed a villain to hate and who better to typecast in that role then Emma. It was drearily pathetic and not worth Emma's time to trade barbs with the arrogant child. If Kitty wanted to make idle threats and throw fits what concern was it to Emma, what use? Kitty Pryde's trust was neither something she sought or strived for. Her plans for this place did not require Kitty's assistance. She could play out in the sandbox with the other children. The girl was very much still a child with much to learn, lessons that would never come at the teet and hand over fist approach given to her by these benefactors. They had molly coddled the girl into a brat, and it was a pity, Kitty's powers could have made her a valuable asset. Emma rose from her desk and shuffled a few folders before placing them into her briefcase. The girl before her eyeing daggers into her back was like a gnat hoovering around. So self assure, so confident. When the day came that Kitty saw her idols for what they were, and her perfect little bubble was burst around her, the young X-man would have a lofty fall indeed. Kitty Pryde needed a harsh dose of reality, and Emma was nothing if not someone who liked pushing at lofty pedestals. "You think it's so simple don't you darling? But you see I can hear your thoughts and my insight I'm afraid my dear is far greater then yours will ever be." Emma gave Kitty a cold almost cruel smile. Who really was the cat and who the mouse in this game? Katherine Pryde was very much what her nickname spoke of her, a kitten. Emma had sharpened her talons of far more supple backs then that of the brunette girl. "You feel powerless, useless, and you very much are. You have leaned on these people and this place for so long, let them carry you, that you don't know how to stand for yourself. You can take the girl out of Deerfield but you cant take Deerfield out of the girl now can you? Do you think blaming me is going to solve that problem for you Kitten? You want an enemy to battle? I suggest start with the one in yourself, the one holding you back and holding you here. Your not a student anymore, why don't you ask yourself why you still hang around? I'd ask you but i neither really care and I already know" Emma's smile was venomous. She had been a master of mind games for a very long time. she had learned from masters. "Now if you'll excuse me some of us actually have a life outside this place. Why don't you run along kitten. In fact i believe if you turn down the hallway you'll run right into our dear Piotr Rasputin and i know how much you want to get your daily dose of unrequited lust on for the day. It seems our little Kitty is in heat." Emma's words were like venom laced sugar and her tone never raised but she could tell by the look on Kitty's face that her bullets had hit their desired marks. Some people could dish it but they sure didn't like taking it. Without another word Emma walked past the girl and headed out. She found no victory in bashing Kitty Pryde, sometimes the truth was no one's friend. |
