Date: June 6th Time: 9:16 AM Westchester. Such a pleasant place this time of year. Far enough north to avoid much of the humidity that plagued those living in the southern parts of this country, the basic heat provided by the rays of the sun was not unpleasant. It was the kind of heat that could make an activity such as swimming or biking quite enjoyable. A certain happiness seemed to radiate from the trees, their branches lush with greenery, and the slight breeze that seemed to be bringing in the day made it seem as if these trees were waving to welcome Ororo back to the place they felt she belonged- Xavier's Institute. As she swung a leg out of the cab that had provided her transportation from the airport to the front door of the place, the only sound able to distract her from the beauty of the area was the sound of the cab driver's voice, reminding her that she hadn't yet payed him. "That'll be thirteen, ma'am." Only slightly embarrassed that she'd even begun to exit before paying him, she stopped, half on the seat and half outside the door, reaching into one of the small pieces of luggage that held her wallet. "Of course." She said, simply, pulling out the money and placing it in the man's outstretched, dirty palm. "Thank you for the comfortable ride." Without another word, Ororo stepped out into the mid-morning sun, her white hair seemingly sparkling. Unfortunately, the cab driver, not being much of a gentleman, left Ororo to pile towards the front door with her few bags. However, the powerful young woman walked along the pathway that led to the building with as much grace as she would have had she been making her way down a catwalk. As of yet, there was no one to greet her outside. This fact neither disappointed nor surprised her. She hadn't called ahead, and most of the inhabitants of the place were likely tied up in class or some other educational activity. It wasn't as if this return rivaled that of the prodigal son, after all. Ororo was only returning after a short trip to check on the state of her mother's nation....her nation......Kenya. So, as she stepped towards the doors and reached a hand over towards the buzzer to be allowed entrance, her eyes took in the area once more. The burden on her soul had been lightened somewhat after returning, but thoughts of the land of her ancestors and the poor situation that those living in the tundras still faced lingered in her mind. The beautiful campus of this great Institution warmed her heart considerably, and she leaned up against one of the railings just outside the door, wondering if she'd already missed the class she was meant to teach. |

Ororo Munroe had always been someone who was slightly intimidating to Rahne Sinclair. She was tall, elegant, preternaturally confident and self-assured. Even though the young wolf-woman wasn't much one to be intimidated, much less by people she knew to be at the very least coworkers if not actual friends, it was hard not to measure one's own self up against the woman known as Storm (and not only because of her super powers) and feel slightly... lacking. Of course, over the summer, classloads were significantly lighter than during "regular" school hours, even for mutant kids. After all, they deserved a summer break (and so did their insructors for that matter), provided they passed their classes. Not to mention with all that had been happening of late with the world-swapping, classes were the furthest thing from most people's minds. What sense dedicating one's own self to a class schedule when you may be gone to another world at any moment? Rahne was usually one of the first to greet people at the door, her superhuman hearing alerting her to approaching vehicles, the squeak of door hinges, and whatnot - her slightly canine disposition filling in the rest. She stepped down the stairs as Ororo came into view in the foyer, pausing a moment halfway down. "G'mornin', Miss Munroe," Rahne greeted with a nod of her head and a warm, pleasant smile that was almost always present on her face to some degree. Rahne had never had all too much contact with Storm, outside of faculty meetings and the fact that they'd both volunteered to assist X-Factor in the mission to Latveria some months back. Still, Rahne had made it her business to be pleasant, and helpful if she could be. "Did ye need any help with yuir bags?" she asked, making her way to the bottom of the stairs, having to crane her neck upwards slightly to even look Ororo in the eye. |

Today was apparently the day of the return of the X-men's signature Amazon; Ororo Munroe, AKA Storm. Ms. Munroe was one of the X-men's best teachers at thew time of Alyson's initial arrival to the institute. The thing was, though, that Alyson really hadn't met Storm before now. She just knew she was.. Well, there. Now Alyson actually had the opportunity to meet the legend, Ororo Munroe herself as she made her way back to the school after having been in Africa for quite some time. This made Alyson a tad happy to say the least. Well, a little more then a tad but still. "Gotta get to the front hallway...!" She said, a clear hurry in her voice as she made her way through the crowded hallways of the dorms, going as fast as she possibly could to actually meet the weather goddess. There probably wouldn't be another chance after this, so she had to take this chance now that she had it and she honestly didn't want to waste it. As she rushed, she passed by a couple of students that gave her an odd look as she finally made her way towards the staircase, the door was open and there were two woman standing in front of it. Rahne Sinclair, Wolfsbane, and Ororo Munroe herself. Now slowly making her way down the staircase, she smiled gently as she looked at the two older women. Hearing Rahne off Ororo help, Alyson figured that she should too. "Ms. Munroe, that is a very good question. Would you like any help..?" She asked, quietly. ((My muse is shot. D:)) |
