Vic grinned when Kel explained about the ripples. He'd need to work on minimizing that, somehow. How could one be a proper assassin if it was so simple to spot him?

Vic's grin faded slightly when the random responded to his joking with something that sounded like overconfident blathering. This guy took himself too seriously, and the attitude struck a nerve in the back of Vic's head.

"So they don't teach X-Men restraint anymore?" The friendliness of his mockery was gone now, and his grin had vanished. Vic bounced the ball from one hand to the other, deformed one. Then threw the ball back, almost as hard. It was aimed in Titan's general direction, but not directly at him. Tabitha might have just told Kel that Xmen should be respected, but Vic still held fast to at least a few Morlock rules.

In the tunnels, one earned the respect they were given. It wasn't just handed over along with a shiney 'X' to wear.

Not knowing his own strength was an excuse for Santo, or Julian. And not even them, really. All the students were training to use their powers properly. For an Xman to go 'oops, my bad, I didn't realize I could throw the ball that hard' sounded like of any mutant present, 'Titan' was the one in the most need of DR time.

Vic was prepared to ignore the shiney new addition to his 'undesirable' list until he proved worth removing. Instead, he focused on calming Kel down a bit. While Tabitha spoke, Vic turned to him and, with a finger, flicked a bit of water his way, speaking low, so as not to interrupt.

"Regen? When did that come about?" Vic had only been vaguely aware that Kel had a codename. Something mentioned in passing, and slipping past proper retention.

"Heads Up."

A males voice shouted, from not to far away and Alyson quickly turned her head towards the source. She saw a man holding a multiple colored beach ball, seemingly getting ready to throw it. Alyson blinked a bit and dipped her head under the water quickly as the ball collided with the surface of the water, causing a large amount of water to splash upwards and for some of the water, it hit the edges of the pool and some of the concrete that surrounded said pool. Quickly, Alyson resurfaced. Man, this guy really knew how to touch a nerve and make someone angry.. Especially for the fact that she simply wanted to enjoy herself around some of her friends.

Vic then caught the ball quickly, with his tongue no less and informed this newcomer that Vic himself was the local 'rogue' of the pool. This caused Alyson to giggle gently, there was no way at all that Vic was a rogue. He was to nice, and definitely far to lovable.. But the thing about it was, that Alyson could feel Kel beginning to get angrier and angrier as the seconds went on.

"Man, trust me, if that was an attack you would know about it because I wouldn't have shouted heads up."

The man spouted, Alyson glared back towards him and turned around. She could even feel herself becoming slightly... Perturbed. That really didn't happen often and when it did, the outcome was normally anything other then good. It'd only happened a few times before, her usually happy and hyper disposition seemed to slipping away in this situation. This guy really knew how to touch a nerve, even on the happiest people in the institute.. Mainly because it appeared that he really didn't know how to personally have fun, or something along the lines of that.

But then, another voice spoke up in reply to the man's. It was Kel's. And Kel was right, come to think of it Alyson had seen him around the institute once or twice. Mainly in the sub-basement, or Danger Room, or something like that.. But even so, she'd never spoken to him, mainly because he sort of scared her. Kind of. It was probably his disposition.. But this time, Alyson was actually getting angry about this guy. And it was surprising all together that even KEL was getting angry... Today was supposed to be a day of fun and relaxation. Well, that wasn't going to happen.

"Kane Tate? Sounds like something you'd hear in a porno or something." Alyson said, her voice heavy and harsh, and definitely full of apathy. As she stared at the brune, it was entirely evident that he wasn't really.. Welcome, he was getting his ass reamed(for lack of a better term) by nearly everyone in the pool at this time. Save for Doug, at least. The new kid probably didn't know what was going on at all.. In fact, just a few seconds later he essentially confirmed to Alyson that he didn't. "Don't worry about it. This guy's just a major douche." Alyson replied, and as soon as Tabby's rant ended she glanced towards Vic, who was now retaliating himself.

"You know what, Vic's right. You're a total ASS." Alyson said, apathy dripping from her tone. She didn't even care that she'd cussed, she didn't even care if she had anything said to her about saying it. He was being an ass, so Alyson was going to call him out on it. And she wasn't afraid to anymore, even if he had just gotten here about five minutes ago, Alyson already wanted to speak her mind.. And maybe attack him, psionically of course.

Tabitha had finished, and even though she'd said that an X-man needed to be treated with respect.. Well, Alyson really didn't care. "You're a self loving little twit, aren't you, mister Tate? You don't seem to care at all about what others think. You seem to like the idea of making everyone around you angry... Don't you, mister Tate?" Alyson said, now trying to refrain from cussing as she stared up at the man. She was angry, definitely. "Well, that's enough. I don't appreciate it.. Any of it." She growled, sending a small wave out of the pool and onto Kane with her telekinesis.

Kane quickly stepped up from the chair and out of the way of the little bit of water that was going to splash him as with his fire ability it would weaken him and it wouldn't do for him to be in a confrontation with an outcome he wasn't sure of with himself being weakened.

Kane was truly not sure what to say, the ball comment had been said in jest and a joke, after all how could you attack someone with a beach ball, plus he was kind of new, he hadn't spent much time in the institute above ground or on campus at all for a number of reasons, firstly unlike some of the Xmen and mutants in general, his parents had accepted his powers and hadn't forced them to live their homes and people didn't shun him on the whole, secondly he wasn't holding out much hope for this war to be all peace and love, it would be a fight a full on, knock down drag out fight that only the strong would survive, he had again said the training comment as a joke, hell he had smirked when he had said it, however he didn't expect the kids to actually have balls and take offence to what he had said.

"Ok, we will start with you" Kane said nodding at Kel trying to control his tone and not to swear and threaten the kids "So i haven't been Mr happy go lucky going round with my head in the clouds thinking everything is pie in the sky, but out there, in the real world people are dying, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, husbands and wives even children, this isn't a joke this is a real war if you think this is a game you should grow the hell up or go home."

Kane was still fuming when Tabitha put in her two cents especially when they still seemed to think he was serious about the threat.

"First of all sweetness," he said in a fake caring voice "it's your little friend over here with the authority problem who started this, i said it wasn;t an attack because if it was i would have said heads up, it was a joke, you do know what a joke is right? and i am not taking your holier than thou crap right now, you don't care what my problem is, well my problem is why i am here and why i am in the training room every day, i was happily out of the war, the mutant world until this apocalypse crap started, when the humans thought that they could take us, my wife was killed, my pregnant wife, i am not here for some greater good, just the whole would be better with a balanced govenrment of mutants and humans rather than a world of mutants like Magneto running it, i am just a small piece of this puzzle i have my own agenda."

Kane could feel the anger in him leaving him but he felt that he still had one issues to address.

"And you," he said turning to Alyson "first of all i don't watch porn so i will take your word for that one and so what if i don't give a crap that people might not like me, i might upset a few people with my attitude, well i am not going to change for nobody, you want me to go round here with a smile slapped on my face so i don't have to seem to be grieving or sad? I am not programmed that way, sorry to dissappoint and yeah I do try to get a reaction out of people I might not want them to be angry and hate me but i don't like people who are false around me."

He felt that even though this confrontation had been coming for a long time he didn't want it to happen. after all they were all on the same team and they would have to get along if they wanted to win this damn war.

"Look," he said in a softer tone looking at all of them "I might not be the easiest guy to get on with and you guys might want to beat the crap out of me right now and you are welcome to come to the danger room or somewhere and fight fair, like adults but we address the problem and we move on, we are at war boys and girls, you are the future, me I am dispensilble i am a soldier who will fight for all of you and protect you if i have to but that does not mean i am going to stay here and at like there is nothing wrong, the truth is you go and cause problems with the brotherhood, they will probably kill you, the same with SHIELD or the hellfire club, or the morlocks or X factor, this isn't a game and it is about time you stopped treating it like one."

Punches from the Punch Dimension
"I don't know what kind of nonsense my less than effective counterpart was letting slide around here," said a voice suddenly, and a man who carried an air of authority as if the jeans and simple black t-shirt he wore were a military uniform. A red perfectly aimed beam of light streaked through the space between Anole and Tate and exploded the violently thrown beach ball with a sound like a shot gun blast. Scott Summers lowered his glasses, and allowed one corner of his mouth to quirk up, just the tiniest of bits. "But Daddy is home now, and he doesn't like what's been going on while he was trapped in another dimension."

Standing over the group of children, and child like adults, Scott folded his arms over his chest. He had been home just a month, just month back in his body, and been de-toxing from the unsavory habits his usurper had ingrained in the physical form he'd been borrowing. He'd managed to wean himself off the pain pills, and had stopped needing a drink before he went to bed, but cigarettes were proving to be a bit of a bitch, and he was lucky to have a telepathic wife to seal off any alien cravings. However, Scott, in his time in the other dimension, had been living in the body of a man who was used to getting his way, when he wanted, and his demeanor, now that he was in this body, was reflecting a bit of that less than patient attitude, though to be honest, he was never incredibly tolerant of disrespect or inappropriate horseplay to begin with.

Looking around at the students, he said, "Now, I have a lot of work to be doing, children. God knows no one picked up the slack while I was gone, and there are a lot of chores that I could be assigning since idle hands seem to make you kids too bored to remember your manners. So, unless you're all just dying to have kitchen duty for a couple weeks, perhaps we should back down and play nice." He looked at the two grown ups, and said, "And as for you too, Miss Smith, I don't have any idea what Director Fury was allowing of his Agents, but I am going to guess this isn't it. Mr. Tate, for your part, life is hard, and it is going to get harder. If I took out my tragedies on the students, I would be a bigger ass than I already am."

He looked over his shoulder at the children and said, warningly, "Any of you say a word, and that kitchen duty may just end up scrubbing Wolverine's toilet, got me?"

"Tate, I want to see you in Jean's office, to discuss these issues of yours, asap," Scott said, then he looked around at them all, "Let's get this straight, people. We aren't just a team. We aren't just a school. We are a family here, and I just got back to it. Don't make me regret working so hard to come home."

"Tabby, I'm sorry. Just, don't," he told her, not ready to explain. It wasn't a DR session, they weren't on the field, and this had nothing to do with the X-Men. This had to do with a guy being a douche, and there was no reason to treat him with respect he hadn't earned. Not that he had intended to blow up at him.. but he wasn't going to retract what he'd said.

"Regen? I think I picked it up a little after Apocalypse," he said quietly in an aside to Vic after he'd splashed him and asked about it. That was when he'd started getting serious about training. Ever since he'd been training on a regular basis with and against the X-Men's super strong stone turner. Besides helping out with night security. Because he was such a childish, lazy, spoiled brat.

Kelrian just stared at the man after he'd finished speaking. Kane. He didn't care about whether the threat had been real or not. But if it had been, he sounded like a less than honorable opponent. But that wasn't the problem... Everyone was upset or pissed off now, and he wished that it hadn't gotten to this, but... well, yeah. It happened. It was a little funny in a horrible way, he'd never seen Alyson angry like this before. "Hun, s'enough, I think he gets the picture," he'd said with a smile before she'd TK'd a wave out of the pool at him. Which he'd managed to avoid... which was probably good, as the guy would've been even more pissed if he'd gotten wet. The things coming out of his mouth made Kel sick though. What the fuck was wrong with the guy?

"What.. I don't even.." he started, and shook his head. The blond was inwardly fuming, but his anger was shoved aside and stomped down. He just looked at the man with a slight frown. "You know what? I am sorry I even opened my mouth. You think you're the only person with problems here, the only person that lost people they loved? That because I don't want my friends to be told off by strangers about enjoying their free time, that I have a problem with authority? You're not the only one who's had their life fucked beyond the point they know where to begin picking up the pieces. I don't expect you to be Mr. Happy Go Lucky. I expect you to act like you're part of the team that you joined. I'm sorry if I was a jerk, as I know that's less than helpful, but yeah. You pissed me off, kinda happens when you act like.. well, never mind that."

"You want my respect, start by earning it. I fully intend on joining the X-Men, but if that doesn't work out- yeah, I'll leave. But not because of some sh... someone like you. This is my home. It's.." he stopped, and just looked at him, anger dissipated, replaced with a sad look on his face. He didn't really know this guy, and the guy probably had went through... if not nearly as much shit as Kel had gone through, probably some bad stuff. Didn't mean he could be an ass or take it out on the students, but.. damn. Fighting amongst themselves wasn't cool.

Even if Kel did have a temper, he still... was a little too empathetic with his fellow mutants. Even though he couldn't literally feel things like Empaths, he could relate very easily. "Tate, man, we don't want to beat on you. We want you to, y'know, not act like a dick to us, and we'll be cool. How does that sound-" He frowned, something Titan had mentioned sinking in.

"Did you just include the Morlocks and X-Factor in with the people that might kill us?" Strangely enough, Kel laughed. "I think you've been in your room a little too much. Those guys are on our side. No one here is treating the situation here like a game. We're just enjoying our down time so we don't end up all stressed and crazy, like some people. And, if you can't tell, that wasn't me being an ass, that was a joke," A big, wide grin, though he'd managed to stop laughing.

And then Scott joined them. Despite the fact that they were getting told off a little, Kel's smile widened. He'd missed the leader of the X-men, and not just because things had gotten a little crazy in his absence. "I'm glad you're back," he said, entirely serious despite his smile. He wasn't going to blame his outburst on anyone else. He looked up at Mr. Grey-Summers, appropriately apologetic. "Sorry, that wasn't like me... Didn't know I could go off like that. I'll have to work on that."

"Let's get this straight, people. We aren't just a team. We aren't just a school. We are a family here, and I just got back to it. Don't make me regret working so hard to come home." That last sentence struck home like a punch to the gut. If he'd been apologetic before, he was more than contrite now. If nothing else, he respected and liked Scott, and didn't want to make him think less of him. "I am sorry," he said, with a lot more feeling. "I, I know I didn't react well."

After a few moments, Kel climbed out of the pool, and grabbed his towel. His mind was still racing, and he knew he couldn't settle down until he sorted it out. Which meant a good, long jog. While it probably would've been a good idea to get some sneakers or something from his dorm, he didn't really feel like it and there wasn't a real need for it. Drying off, he looked around at the people remaining in and around the pool. A good amount of his reaction to Titan was what had caused this big argument. And he needed to think about that. Kelrian was more than ready to go, but he waited in case Cyclops had anything more to say.

Doug continued treading in the water next to Aly. Having been informed not to worry about what was going on he could not help but to worry about the situation. Everyone was upset. So much anger. He was nervous to be next to Aly when she was bringing some of the attention to herself. The last thing he wanted to do was get involved in this. He wasn't seeing a quick fix to this problem.

Kane was acting rather rash and saying a lot of things that Doug was pretty sure were irrelevant and untrue. Sure some people wanted to kill them, but it would more likely be a radical group of humans rather than other mutants. Still Doug felt safe here and felt no threat from those sources.

Doug was surprised by the red beam that came through blowing up the ball. Though after a moment of hearing Cyclops speak he felt a lot better. Cyclops was now his temporary hero, until someone else impressed him. Which probably wouldn't be long at this school. He was constantly being impressed by what everyone was doing around the school. Though this absolutely took the cake.

Doug watched Kel as he apologized to Scott and got out of the pool. Doug was pretty surprised by the way this pool trip was going. This wasn't exactly the way he had expected a swim in the pool to be. He also wondered if Titan would go to Jean's office now or if he would put if off.

Douglas waited for there to be an awkward silence then decided to be the one to break it. "Well now that all of that is over lets get back to having a good time." He swam over to the edge of the pool, lifted himself out, and walked to the radio and turned it to the first rock station he could find. Then he promptly turned and jumped back into the pool, providing everyone in the pool a nice splash.

He couldn't help thinking about what Scott had said, "Let's get this straight, people. We aren't just a team. We aren't just a school. We are a family here...". A family. That is what Doug wanted, he wanted to make friends with the people he was with now and become close enough with them that he did consider them family. That would be nice. Just to feel like a part of the family.

Summer time brought out all the little boys and girls. Even the most undesirable of creatures stretched there legs and pranced about when the warm weather rolled through. It was a fact painfully obvious to Gateway as finding a place of solitude was becoming harder and harder. That day his meditation was broken by an upheaval at the pool. It seemed that the man who was a bigger hermit then himself, which Gateway himself even had to chuckle at, had managed to anger quite a few people all at once. Gateway watched from a distance as the young ones sparred with the older ones, it was all rather dull. They all seemed to lack the vocabulary or the at best the wit to make this an entertaining battle of the minds.

Then Headmaster Summers showed up and did what he seemed to do best...bring order to the chaos. No one much seemed to like the order he brought to them...but they were young anarchy ran through their veins like venom in a snake. Gateway smiled to himself as he moved in closer and picked the exploded beach ball up with the tip of his walking stick and spun it around a few times and chucked it to the side it was of no use to anyone anymore. He strolled past the group as if he didn't even notice they were there and dipped his right foot into the water and swirled his toe in it making small ripples as he checked the temperature. He nodded in approval and took a step back as he turned to look at them all. ::Before the beginning of great brilliance, there must be chaos. Before a brilliant person begins something great, they must look foolish in the crowd. As of now many of you look very foolish in the eyes of many others...now which of you will rise to greatness?:: His wide eyes looked from student to student and then to the adults making it clear his mental observation and thoughts were meant for all of them and for them all to roll over in there minds as they moved forward from this place. He turned back to the man in the group. The one who seemed the most lost even compared to the youngest in the area. A man his age should be on the path to where he was going...not lost and idle. ::By forgiving and choosing to move on, one takes the power back to morph it into positive energy.::

He gave a short nod to the man who seemed lost in his own pain, his own past and from the world as a whole. He stepped to the side and removed his pouch and placed his walking stick on a chair as he moved over to the diving board and climbed up it being careful to step on each run as he went as he stood on to of it he spread is arms and dove into the water and resurfaced a few feet away from where he landed and softly floated on his back blowing a stream of water from his mouth like a small fountain. ”I could have easily teleported to the top and dove in...but then I would have missed the joys of the climb. Now how do you say it here at the school... lets stop comparing cocks and enjoy this lovely day the Gods and Goddesses have blessed us with.”

Vic wasn't really listening to Tate anymore. All he heard was excuses, and there was never an excuse for deuchbaggery. The red beam did a rather fine job of catching his attention, though, and Vic started at the unexpected interception.

Scott was in the house, and Vic could feel the rising tensions drop like a stone.

Vic's mouth was shut while Scott spoke, but the fact that he was now signed up for kitchen duty irked him. Okay, so now that the moment had passed, Vic could see with the crystal clarity of hindsight that perhaps throwing the pool ball wasn't such a good idea. This didn't stop him being annoyed, however.

His clawed arm gripped the pool edge and hefted his body out of the water in one swift motion, muttering to himself, "This is some bullshit." He hadn't brought a towel with him. He hadn't planned that far ahead when he'd jumped, and at this point, he couldn't bring himself to care.

"I'll see you all later." He turned to leave, then heard Gateway's voice. It sounded like he was reciting a haiku or something. It sounded like the old man was giving the situation a lot of weight that, in Vic's mind, it didn't warrant.

This little altercation was not going to change his life, for better or worse. It sounded to him like Gateway just wanted to sound profound and intelligent, and so he spouted something profound and intelligent sounding, leaving it up to them to turn his prettily worded nonsense into something relevant and meaningful.

"Whatever." Vic leapt, and vanished into a cluster of branches. The branches were still for a moment, then they shuddered again as Vic made his departure.

Alyson sighed a bit. She'd went to far, and there was no doubting that. She felt a tad.. Guilty, compared to what she'd normally be like. Normally, she'd want to befriend Kane, but he just seemed to.. Well, turn her off, in a sense. He was never really around the school grounds, he'd always had him self either trapped in his bedroom, or even training in the danger room. There was no fun when it came to this.. Titan. He seemed to just zap the fun out of the room, and even though Alyson would more than likely try to get him to open up, Aly chose not to. She didn't know why, he just rubbed her the wrong way.

Suddenly, a red stream of light zoomed across the pool, and collided into the beach ball that was simply floating in the middle of the pool... Aly quickly glanced up. It was Cyclops, and there was really no surprises when it came to that. She expected him to pop up sooner or later. She smiled a bit, but only faintly. This meant that there would at least be some justice in the pool area. One could only hope, though, that he didn't really convince Jean to actually get rid of the pool. Actually, that wasn't likely... But it was someone who loved waters biggest fear.

"Mr. Summers.. I, well.. I can't really say how sorry I am. I just let the anger get a hold of me... And quite frankly, it actually felt a little good to let out some steam." Alyson said, a bit of a sincerity in her voice. She wasn't lying, no she wasn't lying at all. She sighed a bit and rested against the back of the pool as she listened to what Cyclops was saying. He was making perfect sense... And Aly really didn't want dish duty or something. Kel seemed to really.. Humble out in the presence of the strict headmaster of the school.

Alyson wanted to be like Kel, in some ways. He was the perfect student. There were no doubts about that. He did indeed lose his temper some times, but other times he was perfectly calm(or as calm as Kel could be), and he listened to the teachers about nearly everything they were saying. There were some things he questioned, probably. Aly sighed gently and lifted herself out of the pool.

"Mr. Summers... Thanks for that, pushed me back down to.. Well, essentially reality." Aly said, nodding her wet head as she reached for the towel that she placed on one of the chairs beside where Kane and Tabby were sitting at. Aly actually did understand where Scott was coming from. He was just.. Well, to put it simply he was back from another world and his body was no longer possessed by some foreign entity that was... Well, it was Scott in a sense but in another sense it was someone that called himself Ruby. Aly wasn't going to question it at all. It was too complicated.. Even for a telepath.

Glancing over, Aly noticed that Kel had the same idea as herself. Get out of the pool... The fun was over, and there was really no need to stay in the pool. The day was fun whilst it lasted, but the day was still fresh.. Aly would probably find something else to do during the night, but she'd most likely curl up with a book or something, and stay like that the rest of the night..

However, Alyson then heard another, unfamiliar voice.. And it seemed to be coming from the top of the ladder. Aly blinked a bit and looked up, and there seemed to be a dark skinned, older man... Reciting what sounded like a Haiku or something. Aly couldn't tell what it was, but she listened to him. "You know, that may sound like some life changing gibberish to you.. But, not to me. I'm going to live my life like I wanna, for now... Kay?" Aly said, smiling a bit, then looking to Cyclops, Kane, and Tabby. "I'll probably see you all a little later." She said, wrapping the towel around her body and making her way out of the gardens. She was going to try and humble herself, at least a little about, around people who just seemed to never cease in pissing her of.
