"Be on your best behaviour," Violey said as she leaned against the passenger-side door of the car, "Rictor, do not destroy the building. We are 'ere as guests."

Giving one last stern glace at Rictor, Violey shut the car door. Until this morning Violey saw the logic of how unnecessary having a driver's license was when you could fly. If she went at her top speed she could have made it to Xavier's from X-Factor in under fifteen minutes. That would mean, however, getting flight clearance or have some other sanction approved. Whatever extra step or paperwork needed to be filled out was not worth her time. Yes, she probably could make to the institute without notice but it was a risk she did not want to take. Plus, the visit had nothing to do with work.

Not having a license meant also not owning a car. Spending money on public transportation like a private car was not something Violey was against. Rictor did not need to drive her here. He just happened to offer to take her when he over heard her plans that morning as she talked to Jayson over cell phone. It sounded like Rictor had to come here anyways. Why make two trips when it was unnecessary as well as calling for a car when he could drive. Though, the thought of having her own license and her own transportation passed through her head a number of times in the two-plus hour drive.

Once inside Violey stopped her quicken-paced walk and turned to Rictor. "I will not be surprised if Jayson is to be late for I expect her Danger Room session to run longer than she initially informed me. What business calls you to Xavier's?" Violey asked crossing her arms across her chest. "You 'ave not said. If you do not know your way around I will take you there."

It was not a surprise for Violey's wistful manner concerning her teammate. A few days before Rictor paid a visit to X-Corp, got lost, proceeded to destroy the building, and beat her friend's devotee. The reasoning of allowing Rictor to drive her to Xavier's had nothing to due with Jayson being good friends with Adrien. Since, of course, Rictor knew not of Jayson's connection to the one who's office he had ruined.

"Coming back to the institute is like visiting an old friend. Is it not?" Violey also did not know if Rictor went to school here or had any other dealings with the X-men besides X-Factor business. She never bothered to ask him or cared to remember if he did say.

Plans. Something Rictor never had. It was too much work to plan things ahead and usually things went just fine without them. When he woke up this morning was he planning on making the two hour trip necessary to get to the Xavier Institute with a person he didn't talk too much? No, but anything to get out of the city for a few hours.

He watched his teammate over the roof as she exited the borrowed car. Standing with one hand on the roof, the other on the open door he looked strait ahead, not turning as she passed him. Only his eyes followed until she moved from his peripheral vision. With a inaudible sigh, he shut the door, careful not to slam it, and turned to follow his companion.

He shrugged off her warning about tearing the building down, not entirely sure if she was joking or not. If it was a piece of her personality, Ric was unaware of it, after all he had never had an in depth conversation with her. But the morning had been lazy, and he had no reason to dislike her so he might as well take the opportunity to do something a little further from Status Quo and offer her a ride. They hadn't conversed much on the ride over, not so much because Ric was an antisocial looser (though that is true) but more so because of a lack of common ground.

Other people might have been impressed by the mansion in front of him, but Ric had little appreciation for the arts and the building had long since become just another part of the scenery. Right now he was content to simply trail after Violey at a pace slightly faster than ideal. Her sudden stop through the doors, took Ric off guard and almost walked into her when she turned to face him.

"What business calls you to Xavier's? You 'ave not said. If you do not know your way around I will take you there."

Taking a step back, he stared into Violey's eyes with not a single emotion in his gaze. Was she annoyed with him? Most likely, people got annoyed with him on a regular basis, but usually they had a reason. If she had one, he was oblivious to it, and didn't really care all that much. Shrugging, he considered how to answer the question without sounding rude. She was asking him about a plan. She obviously didn't know him very well.

"Same business as every other day."

He took a gamble on her knowing what he was talking about. When working he always just did whatever Alex told him, or nothing at all. Maybe it was laziness or just a lack of enthusiasm, but that didn't really matter. He really had no reason to be here other than that Alex had not given him anything else to do.

"Coming back to the institute is like visiting an old friend. Is it not?"

He had been to the institute many times before, but as a student, not for very long, barely two months before joining a team. It was a weird situation, but that was a story for another time. The point was, no it was not.

"I hope not, old friends have a tendency to come back and try to kill me." A comment that was only half sarcastic. As depressing as it sounded, It seemed to be a trend with mutants.

Looking around the atrium he could see several people walk by, none of them paying them any attention. Frowning he turned back to Violey, a hint of annoyance in his voice.

"Did we drive two hours to meet up with a student?"

Students were what, 16 tops? Jayson- He didn't recognize the name. He hadn't really thought much of it when he offered Violey the ride. If Violey's only friend was a 16 year old student, then Ric was about took look like the biggest tool in the shed. Maybe it was a female thing to hang out with younger people, but to Ric it was just odd. At very least they could maybe get this kid shit-faced behind the schools back. Might make for a good laugh. He could always ditch them to go wait a bar though, then they could paint their nails or what ever it is they planned on doing. Shit, then he wouldn't be able to drive back.

"We better not have to help her with her homework."

Jay was walking through the hallways of the school, planning on heading outside and just take a walk around the grounds. The day had been rather dull, as in the same old same old. Not very much like last night when he ran into Jack, well more like flew into. Very awkward meeting that was. Jay just didn't have much going on today, and he felt restless doing nothing, and he just had an odd day where he didn't feel like playing his guitar, singing however, he'd sing, but singing without someone playing a song, or had some song already playing so he could sing a long with the song.

The crimson angel stepped into the entryway, about halfway through humming a tune to the great southern song, that was about a sweet home in Alabama. He knew all to well that he wasn't from Alabama, but it was just an awesome song to rock out too. He started walking towards the front door as he saw a woman and a man talking. Jay had never seen either of them before, so he didn't really know why they were here or even if they were human or mutant. At least until he saw the other portion of the woman's face, completely white with black markings on it. Mutant he thought.

Jay didn't really know what to do. He didn't really like seeking people out to talk to, but they seemed to be new or new-ish and probably need help. Better make your decision Jay...

Jay stepped towards them and the humming stopped. " 'Scuse me, is there something you need help with?" He asked, his Kentucky accent rolling off his tongue as he spoke.

The answer to her question should have been expected. Rictor gave no reason for him to be here. His 'same business as everyday' reply made her half-frown. In her humble opinion, Rictor needed to find someone outside X-Factor to talk to. Maybe Doc Samson would be willing for another visitation from the team. Surely he would have something more to say about Rictor's eyes being absent of any emotion. If he'd hoped that was the case than Rictor would be glad to know his attitude began to irk Violey.

"I hope not, old friends have a tendency to come back and try to kill me."

Violey clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth. "I guess you do not make the right friends," Violey said trying to show a sad feeling in her voice. "So the mansion would compare not to an old friend for you if what you say is the case. You asked not directions so I will assume this is not you first time at the Institute."

Did Rictor like being at X-Factor? Did he care to have friends? What was Rictor's deal? Violey stared at him in a questioning gaze. Who was Rictor? Spending a two-hour or so drive in the car together should have meant time to talk. What was that Violey knew about him already? Anything beside him beating up Adrian of X-Corp?

So, when Rictor asked whether they just drove all the way out here to see a student, Violey just laughed right at him. What he said was a joke, correct?

"No, no," Violey answered as soon as she could speak without straining to breathe. Rictor was funny. "I could care less to visit a student unless I 'ave been told to do so by the bossman. My friend is my age. Despite any potential to leave this place she chose to join the ranks of the illustrious men of the X."

After another small fit of laughter Violey continued, "You also wish to not be 'elp to Jayson. Unless you like to pick a fight with a person who can actually punch back."

From down the front hall Violey made out a person humming. Automatically she ruled out Jayson. As soon as the voice spoke she turned toward the student and gave a pleasant welcoming smile.

"I am afraid you will be in need to interrupt a Danger Room session if you are to be any 'elp to me," Violey said to the student before introducing herself. As she spoke a faint French accent played on her words. "I seek an X-man named Jayson Mink with the codename Rock-Solid who is currently running the session. A friend of mine before I graduated from this school."

Finally, Violey held out her hand. "I am Violey Vistagraph. It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance. The man is Julio Ricther who was kind enough to offer to be my driver from the city. May you offer your name? May I also say the accent your words 'ave mark you as being from the mid-west if I am not mistaken."

When he first joined up with the X-men, Rictor left literally everything he had in Mexico. There was too much to be replaced so he never bothered to make any attempt. A lot of people just figured he was being depressive or angsty, but really he just didn't care enough to replace any of it, he never cared enough. The simplest way to describe it, Rictor had no sense of self motivation. Joining X-Factor was just another easy thing to do. Offering a ride was simple. Having a conversation with someone who was his polar opposite, it sucked.

"I've been to the mansion before, just not as a student. I was an X-Man before I came to Mutant town."

He could have easily gone into more detail but Ric always kept it curt unless he was pressed. He wasn't that interesting of an individual and had given up trying to prove to people that he was. He could tell by the look on her face though, that she was mentally asking herself a number of questions no doubt about him. But apparently he had said something stupid because to his annoyance he started to laugh at him. His eyes narrowed as she continued, not sure what was so funny. He would have asked but she ended up telling him before he could get the words out.

'"The illustrious men of the X." that was a new one. Was Violey joking now? It was hard to tell with the overly formal way she had of talking. And was she sill laughing at him or was she just hysterical over her own joke? Right now all she was doing was confusing the hell out of him, making him regret offering her a ride. Though he did find some amusement in her fight proposal. He was almost positive she was just joking about that one, but knowing Rictor, picking a fight was one of those things he found extremely satisfying. Even though, though he wasn't a gentleman he still was not really one for hitting girls. Then again, she was an X-man, so there was a bit of a difference.

"Well, If she needed help getting her ass handed to her I wouldn't mind lending a hand."

Smirking deviously at Violey, not caring about being rude. He opened his mouth to continue speaking but stopped at the unexpected interjection of a student. That was one thing that was always different about the institute versus Mutant Town. People came up to you for reasons other than to drop complains.

He hadn't realized just how long winded his teammate could be, feeling the need to explain herself in precise detail. Or maybe it just seemed that way to Ric, always having been a man of few words.

Leaning backwards he gave the boy a long look as his teammate went on. It wasn't a glare but not quite a friendly look either. Long red hair and a pair of matching wings to boot. Not unlike Worthington's, Bet it's a pain in the ass to find clothes that match. Just as Violey would soon point out, his accent quite noticeable.

Ric's not-quite-glare, switched rapidly to an he-is-definatly-upset, look directed at his partner. He was doing ok, his temper was nice and docile today, until she decided to introduce him. If there was one thing he couldn't stand it was being introduced with something other than his code name. He let very few people call him Julio, and she had just given this kid a full invitation to do so. Silently he swore to himself, if bird boy called him Mr. Richter, he was going to be angry at Violey for the rest of the week. Longer if he said it twice.

"Rictor." He corrected sharply, half growling. A little more over the top than necessary, but if he was going to make a point he might as well make sure it stuck.

"I can see what I can do about interrupting a danger room session so you can meet with Ms. Mink." He says to the blonde woman with the half monochrome face and the faint French accent. Very unique in appearance and voice, and even name as she introduced herself to him as well as her friend, who didn't seem to be pleased and he kept giving Jay a strange look, at least that is how Jay saw the look itself. The guy's name was Julio Richter, but apparently preferred Rictor, a codename perhaps?

Jay took her hand and shook it gently with a slightly firm grip, he was never one of those types of guys who'd just go and squeeze someone's hand to the point they tried breaking it. "The pleasure if mine Miss Vistagraph." Jay says with his charming smile. "Same to you, Rictor." Jay added nodding to the Latin mutant. "My name's Jay Guthrie, and I s'pose you could call Kentucky part o' the mid-west." Jay smirked, he never really thought of Kentucky as being part of the mid-west, it was kind of in like the smack-dab in the middle of the U.S. "And your accent, is that more the Cajun-French? Or the legit kind?" Jay asked the young woman. Ever since he came to the institute himself, he had met a lot of unique people from different places, but none from the Bayou or the country of France, it was kind of an exciting prospect.

"But now that introductions are out of the way, s'pose you could just follow me to the Danger Room, though since you actually graduated from her you probably know the way already."

OOC: Violey w/ Jayson coming at the end.

"Jayson shall be unhappy if the session is interrupted," Violey replied to Jay. "Your wings are nice," she added without a pause.

Although Violey visited Xavier's she did not visit regularly enough to keep track of the new students. Even while she attended just as many students arrived as left. There was also the point where she payed little attention to even those of her class. So, not seeing the other winged mutant before was not really a surprise. Was it possible Jayson mentioned to her about a new student sharing a similar power as Angel? It did not matter whether her friend told her or not; Violey just smiled at Jay as he told her his name.

"Well, Jay Guthrie, I work with your sister. It is a delight to personally meet another from Paige's family." It clicked. Yes she heard of Jay from bits of a conversations with Paige. Jayson also mentioned how, besides Sam, three more of his family joined the ranks of the school. Their powers and names were not memorized.

A guttural growl which sounded a bit like his codename came from Rictor. Violey turned with concern nit on her eyebrows. If she did not now better Violey would have thought Rictor currently was sick. It was only polite to be introduced with someone's full name. However, yes, she should have known that Rictor would like to introduce himself. Good for Jay to not call her partner by his first name. Violey did not know the consequence if Jay had done so.

"I may not remember the way since I preferred to train outside," Violey said to Jay, "You are welcome to lead us there."

As they walked Violey replied to a comment that Rictor stated before Jay showed up. "If you wish to challenge Jayson in a Danger Room session I am sure she will be obliged to. As long as you do not cause much destruction I am sure the fight will be good workout for Jayson."

A group of students came from the hallway leading the Danger Room. The topic of conversation for them was about the session that just finished. Violey caught a few mutterings about how fun it was. A few spoke of why a room such as that exsisted in the school. It was their first time training there. One student had a petrified expression on his face. As he passed the trio he stated, "She turned me to stone." The boy of course was back to flesh but he still could not get the idea of being completely stone out of his head. It definitely was not an experience he wished to repeat.

"I do believe he enjoyed the session well," Violey said giving a laugh after the poor boy was out of ear shot. "Jayson must be taking the gloves off more often than when she and I were students."

Another person appeared in the hall carrying a set of gloves in her right bare hand. The red head was clad in her leather X-suit. Her hair was pulled back. "I see you made it, Violey," Jayson said to her friend. "Didn't think I'll fine you in the halls to the DR. Thought you'll be more likely to head to the library or parlor for tea and cakes." Jayson's words ended in laughter.

Satisfied the kid got the message, Ric responded with nothing but a slow blink, and ignoring his teammates look. It wasn't his fault he wasn't always the nicest guy in the world... Well, obviously it was, so it wasn't actually like he could blame her for the askance gaze.

Half of a chuckle and slight smirk broke Ric's silence as the young man in front of him spoke. Not that what he said was humorous in the least, more the fact that he would have never made the connection between this kid and Paige, had he not said something.

"You and Paige don't really look alike." He paused. "It's the red hair."

As the two went on with their small talk of hometowns, Ric let his mind wander, rather than contribute to what they were saying, not really interested in the conversation. He listened to them with one ear and counted his footsteps with the other until he was interrupted by his teammates late response to his sarcastic comment.

"If you wish to challenge Jayson in a Danger Room session I am sure she will be obliged to. As long as you do not cause much destruction I am sure the fight will be good workout for Jayson."

Responding with a shrug, and a fake look of innocence. Not answering right away, but waiting through an extended pause, to make a rebuttal.

"I'd like to think I'm a little better than just a work out, Vistagraph." He mused sarcastically, more out to entertain himself than those around him. Despite being a pretty moody individual, like anyone, even Ric had his more light hearted moments. Even if, at this point in time, he was just trying to be difficult. Something that he, in all honesty, didn't have to try very hard, to accomplish.

With the passing by of several students came an air of uncertainty on his part. He didn't know who 'she' was, what her power did or how exactly she fit into what Violey was talking about when she mentioned the boy's Danger Room session. He was always a little more cautious going into a situation with an unknown mutant. Hiding bombs no metal detector, scent hound or x-ray could every hope to find. He could raze cities at the blink of an eye, and he didn't pack nearly as much power as some. Yet he trusted Violey and his teammates more than he ever let them know, and went visibly unfazed as her old friend emerged in the hall.

Right away the first thing he noticed was the X-Suit, making it obvious she just came out of the Danger Room and who they were here to meet. The second thing to catch his attention was the red hair, bringing him back to their student tour guide. Seeing enough red I might as well be Cyclops.

He tilted his head ever so slightly, barely enough to notice and rose one eyebrow to the woman in front of him, radiating an arrogance that had gotten him into trouble many times before.

"Assuming they'd eat cake is what started a revolution Marie, and I can tell ya, XF bites harder than a few scrawny peasants."

He couldn't care less what this person thought of him and he probably wouldn't see much of her in the near future, so he let himself flirt ever so subtly just to see what kind of reaction he would get. Only he was really just being a jerk.

"Thanks." Jay replied to the comment about his wings with a soft smile. He never thought anything too special about his wings, they've been there since he was 13, though they started out the size of some chicken wings when he first noticed them, it wasn't until he was about a year later that they felt fully grown or at least could support his weight in flight. Which also happened to be when he was finally fingered as a mutant by his sister Melody.

"Ah Paige, she really doesn't call or respond to my emails as much as I would hope. Starting to feel like she's embarassed or something. Not like I'm Sam or any of her other brothers." Jay said with a little bit of an eye roll. There was a sound of more than just a little resentment from Jay going to Sam and Paige, maybe more so than Sam, but it was hard to tell. Looking to Rictor as he made the comment about the difference in appearance. "Well I don't really look like most of my family. Only my grandma had red hair as far as I know, everyone else has been a blonde or brown in hair color. Lucky me. Though Ma likes to say that I've got my dad's eyes. Prolly if you imagine me with dark brown hair or honey blonde you'd see more of a resemblance I s'pose."

Jay nodded and started leading them to the Danger Room, very careful to try and remember where it was himself. Jay, like Violey, preferred being outside when he 'trained', he didn't necessarily train per say, in his mind it was just him flying around, ducking and dodging trees while doing some fancy flying. "I prefer the outdoors as well, reminds me more of home when I'm surrounded by trees."

When the group got to the Danger Room a session already ended and Jayson stepped out. Jay just nodded and said "Hey Jayson, these two have been lookin' for ya." That was sort of all he said about that, since he didn't really know Jayson all that well. Though this Rictor guy seemed a bit stuck on himself, kind of put Jay off.

Violey stood a step or two behind Rictor. He could not see her face as her eyes widened then narrowed at his comment to her good friend. Cake? Marie? Peasants? A look was shot at Jayson clearly stating Violey's want to challenge Rictor herself, now. Who did her teammate think he was to speak in such a manner? His statement felt wrong. Like he should not have been comparing X-Factor to the fall of kingdom and succeeding revolution. Though, in truth, Violey did not like Rictor's flirting with her friend. Humor, Violey lacked it.

Jayson shrugged off Rictor's comment due to the look Violey gave her.
"Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm not stupid enough to underestimate anyone on X-Factor knowing Polaris and Havok run the team." What was her friend going on about? It looked as though- Oh, yes she wanted to tell Jayson something important... what was so important?

"Thanks Jay," Jayson said looking at him. "Bet she knew how to find her own way. She has a thing for maps." Giving a laugh Jayson pulled on her gloves without looking at her hands as if it was second nature. "Didn't really think she'll come down here willingly unless she wanted something."

"Do not speak as though I am not in the room," Violey told off her friend. "Why do we not throw a session?" she offered. "Could be fun to pretend to be a student again being made to train powers and battle one another, could it not be?"

Jayson was shocked. The expression on her face revealed a lightheartedness of the idea of being in the DR without students trying to one-up each other. "Sure, suit yourself," Jayson said making sure not to let the shock come in her voice. Was Violey sick or something? As she pushed a strand of hair which came loose during the class in the DR, it dawned on Jayson why Violey offered the challenge. Well, it could also be because of Rictor's flirting attempt.

"So, it'll be me and Jay against you and um, your name is Rictor right?" Jayson said trying to remember the name Violey had mentioned on the phone. Though, she didn't recall her friend wanting to bring him to the school. What was Violey going on about in their last phone call when she mentioned something happening between Faye and Rictor? Of course Violey did not give particulars. She wanted to tell her in person, gossiping like schoolgirls. Maybe it was a fight or whatever? Dammit, Jayson owed Faye a phone call.

"Why not spice it up a bit?" Violey suggested. "You and I versus Rictor and Jay? Girls versus the guys? I think it will make things a lot more interesting, yes?"
