Kimberly was, contrary to popular belief, not a bitch. Her current behavior was in direct conflict with that concept. She was livid. She was standing in the middle of the forest using trees for target practice. Huge solid balls of ice loudly collided with the trees as she worked some of her rage out on the trees that surrounded the school.

She was angry at Tommy, angry at Kevin, angry at herself. Angry at Tommy for whatever he was doing, she didn't like the word cheating but she couldn't seem to come up with a more appropriate word. Angry at Kevin for being the massive douchelord he was about everything. Angry at herself for ignoring the massively obvious signs that Tommy was giving.

No longer. She formed a buzz saw and cut through a handful of trees. Before they had the chance to fall on her she back-flipped out of the way. She coughed slightly at the dirt the trees had kicked up, but it made her feel good to wreck something. She considered a solo session in the Danger Room for a moment before continuing her barrage on the trees around her.

"I don't even care. If he wants to trot around with some bitch from the brotherhood, then let him. Asshole" She clenched her fist and pulled, all at once all the moisture from the trees she had cut down was torn into the air, leaving the trees on the ground brittle, brown, and dead. She formed the moisture in the air into a giant ball of ice and just dropped it on the dead trees, crushing them into a pile of wood and dust.

Kimmy was angry, but she was way too dramatic to stand around. She was damned sure going to get even for all this. She was gonna give Tommy one chance to explain himself before she showed everyone exactly how much of a bitch she really could be.

Jay had pretty much spent all day wandering around the forest, almost from the moment he woke up he spent the day just hiking around, seeking inspiration outside of his own personal issues for songs and the random doodles he wanted to use one day for album art, sure they were pretty much a few steps above stick figures, but he was proud of his work. He was a man of many talents, just none of them were skill with a sketchpad.

He was getting ready to take flight and see the skyline of the forest for a bit, until there was a sound of trees crashing down to the ground in the distance. Then another. And another. Trees didn't really fall that many times in a row all by themselves. Someone was doing something and destroying bits of some of his sources of information. So he did the "X-man" thing, and went to explore it on his own.

He walked at first before he started to fly slowly, but still faster than when he walked until Jay came upon the scene. Kim an old friend, it had been a while since he had seen and talked with her, something he had been meaning to correct but just never really got around to it. But here she was now before him as he was barely flying off the ground, and she was destroying the forest quite decently.

"Kim?" Jay called to her as he started to land and walk closer to her. He could see it through her body language and the fact that she flattened several trees, she was upset, angry, pissed, could probably write a whole list of adjectives to describe her mood, but anyways.

"What's the matter?" The question was simple enough, Jay was always there to help others. He didn't like seeing people hurt emotionally, only he was allowed to do that in his book.

Kimmy blushed slightly and cleared her throat. She didn't want anyone to think she was sad. It was some sort of programed reaction. She could never be photographed when she was just human with anything less than a smile, or it would be all over the papers. So now she just grit her teeth around anyone who wasnt Jayson, Kel or... well Tommy.

She wiped the tears from her eyes and smiled at Jay. She didn't want him to think she was a drama queen. She respected him. He was way talented. She did not want Jay thinking Kim spent all her time in the woods being emotional. That totally was not the case.

She stared down at the grounds and rubbed her forearm nervously. "I was just out here training is all. Gunning for the xmen, gotta stay sharp..." She trailed off, she hated lying anymore. The words felt like they were coming from someone else and she was hovering over herself, like someone was talking for her.

"Everything is fine." The words hurt to say, like she was swallowing too much food at once. She turned from Jay and let her face fall back down into a frown. Nothing was okay and it was all because of a boy. She always thought she was better than this, but apparently she was very mistaken.

Jay knew the tell tale signs, he had been to the dark places of pain, agony, and sorrow. He knew the lies and the underlying tones to the words when someone said they were fine, everything was fine. He couldn't count how many times he had been in the same boat, all because of a girl. And the fact she killed herself because she thought she lost him. Life was fucked up.

Jay wasn't as powerful as Kim was, so if he was ever down in the dumps, he really couldn't do this amount of damage. But at the same time he was not scared. He just felt bad cause she just seemed so sad. He didn't like it.

"Kim, my ma would say something 'long the lines of 'Don't give me hamburger and tell me it's steak'. " Jay said, it was odd how often he found himself quoting his mom, especially her really bad bits of dialog that she'd tell the kids. But that was what happened when Jay turned into like a surrogate dad after Sam left, he was the oldest, it was his job to help.

He walked closer to her and put his hand on her shoulder while she was turned away from him. "You don't have to tell me if you don't wanna, I just hate to see ya hurt."

Kimmy didn't approach the problem directly, but she did allow the tears to quietly return with Jay watching. "Your mom sounds awesome..." There was a different sadness in her voice as she started her story. "I never really had a family. Which is funny to say out loud isn't it? Famous Kim Parker, daughter of two famous stars... but they were sorta absent from everything. Then when I became a mutant, I was tossed out. I never heard from them again. After the apocolypse was over they and my grandparents were dead. I inherited everything." She kicked the trees again with her boot. "But, in the end, I was alone. I felt more alone in that place, my old house with no parents... than I ever head. Jayson and Kel were there, but I still felt sad. So I drove back to New York." She sat down on one of the trees that she missed with her dehydration move.

"You know who was there for me Jay?" She wiped her eyes and smiled. "Tommy. Even after my jealousy over whatever was going on with him and Laurie... he was there. He reminded me that my home and family were here. Then the pain wasn't so bad anymore. I had Tommy and the school and everything was alright."

She formed a ball of ice slowly in her palm. The ice was so perfect, so crystal clear, you could see right through the ball, almost as if it wasn't there. "Tommy is cheating on me apparently... Not only that but lately he has been a little distant. Which is something for a boy who can almost be in two places at once. Now I feel as if I lost him, and I can only ask 'What did I do?' like its my fault or something. I know it isn't. But I feel like it is. Like I did something terrible."

Jay sympathized with her sadness as he saw the tears fall from her eyes, it was a bit heart wrenching to see such pretty eyes shed tears. He just listened as she talked about her family, or a lack of one. He knew the story of how parents could often throw out their kids for being mutants, it was a common story around the school. And made him believe even further on what Kim said, his mom was awesome. Five out of ten children, and every single one was welcomed home any time, they were family they had each other and nothing was gonna change that. But despite that luck in having a good family that was there for him, Jay wanted to make sure he was there for Kim.

As she sat on the fallen tree that she didn't pull the water out of, Jay sat next to her, his wings first folded up behind her before his arm went around her back for a sign of support, even his wing spread out behind her creating a bit of back rest for her if she wanted it, as well as providing some warmth. He found his wings comforting at times, maybe others could find some comfort as well.

He was rather quiet as she told him about what had happened with everything, about her family, about coming back to the mansion, about Tommy and what that high speed prick was apparently doing. Fastest person at the school, and all he seems to do is know how to cause trouble faster than everyone. He hadn't taken his eyes off her face until she created the ice crystal ball. It gleamed and shined yet had almost nothing there.

"You didn't do anything wrong Kim." Jay spoke softly and sighed. "People...are strange, especially when it comes to relationships. I'm not excusing anything that Tommy has done, cause he's clearly in the wrong. But sometimes things just aren't meant to last...no matter how good things may have been." He says softly. He looks down at the ground in front of him before looking back up at Kim. "Kimmy, when I look at you, I don't see that famous girl who has a bunch of CD's with the famous parents. I see a beautiful young woman who's sweet, funny, and incredibly talented. And if Tommy can't appreciate that...well he could get an icicle shoved up his ass for all I care."

"Thanks Jay." She smiled and pushed some of her hair from her face before taking a deep breath. "I know I didn't do anything wrong. But... when people so often turn from you like this, sometimes the easiest thing to do is blame yourself. But enough with my pity party." She gave him a bright and genuine smile, that was only muted by the glassiness of her eyes from her crying moments before. Kimberly did tend to go from one extreme to another.

"And Kevin was right about one thing. It will make for some good fodder for my next CD." She stretched and kicked one of the dehydrated logs with her boots. "I kinda feel bad now, and if anyone from the institute wanders out here I will probably be in a little trouble. I shouldn't be tearing up the woods because I am mad at a boy."

She motioned for Jay to walk with her and started away from the Woods. "I am glad Sam or Alyson wasn't there. They would have ripped me apart of they got word of what happened. I needed a few moments to process everything, and now all I wanna do is confront Tommy, end it. There are more important things in the world and I... I am not gonna let this go. I am not going to be one of those girls."

"Anytime Kimmy." Jay responded offering her a smile in return. It wasn't as big as her's, but Jay was just like that. Even when happy or having a laugh he never really gave any large 'show all your teeth' kind of smiles. He didn't yet comment on what she said after the smile, and how easy it was to blame yourself. Jay knew that part too true.

"Many songs are inspired by break ups, so I can see why. Not that it's entirely a good thing, but I guess there is always some silver lining to everything eventually." He chuckled, partially wondering if Kimmy would potentially do some big rock or blues type song or not, could be kind of cute despite the topic the song would be about. "Well...if you really feel that bad, you can always come back, plant new trees in their place and help them grow up to be bigger and better replacements. You could become an excellent gardener with your powers." He said trying to add a little humor to the air about them, just to keep her smiling.

Jay got up shortly after she did and stuck his hands in his pockets as he started to walk with her, not really caring where they went at the moment. He was a friend and he wanted to be there for her, nothing more. "I don't really know Alyson that well, we've met a few times but hasn't made much of an impression. But Sam..." Jay frowned a bit, just like his brother. "Sam's an ass, always has been always will be. I'm his freaking brother and he's just-augh forget it. I could probably rant all day long on how much I dislike him and his attitude. But that's not what I'm here for. Just if he bugs you about anything, just tell me and I'll teach him a lesson." Jay sighed. "I think its a good idea that you get some closure between you and Tommy, it may suck to do it...but I speak from experience on how much worse it could end up. And I would hate to see you get to that point Kimmy." The red headed young man spoke softly to her.

Part of him started to hurt deep down as he started remembering Julia more vividly for a moment. What happened was only knowledge a few people had at the school, his family and more or less just a few staff members, and maybe a few students who caught on by Jay never outright told them. He wondered how many people knew of what happened to him, why he was really at the school. Other than his mom and a shrink she took him to a few times, he didn't think anyone else knew that he tried to kill himself.

"Love hurts, but sometimes its a good hurt, and it makes ya feel like your alive." Jay said softly trying to redirect the topic in his head by reciting a bit of a song by Incubus.

"Somehow, I think I will know I am dead. People might not think it, but we are artists Jay." She shrugged and kept walking along that usual path towards the school. She was feeling much better than she had been before and she thought Jay had something to do with it. "We feel things harder..." She paused for a moment, unsure if she was using the right words. "...more intensely...than most people." She nodded, happier with her word choice.

"Now I am just wondering how long it is going to take Tommy to feel guilty enough to tell me the truth, if that will happen before I get to him myself." Kimberly had been described by Tommy himself as a force of nature. He was real close to experiencing himself exactly how true the words were.

"Cause if he wont come clean to me, I don't know if I will even be able to be friends with him. If thats how he behaves, I am gonna make sure everyone is aware. Think I will start with Laure." She stopped for a moment and smirked. "And if Kevin thinks this isnt gonna backfire in his face...he is dead wrong. Think I will let Laurie know what his stalker ass is rolling around and doing. Everyone wants to paint me out to be the bitch, time to put that mask on I think."

"Indeed we do feel things more intensely..." Jay agreed with her on that particular subject. "And it does get hard since not anyone really gets that except someone else like us. He smiled back, and it was nice to have someone who understood that, despite whatever anyone else may say about her. Kimmy made him smile when they were together despite how long it had been since the last time they talked.

"You never really know with people, they can always end up surprising you. He could be trying to find a way to tell you that won't hurt you as much, or he could be doing the total opposite and using that super speed to just to try and ignore you. I'd be very disappointed if it were the latter, can't really trust people like that." He shrugged. He wasn't entirely an expert on stuff like that, but he was there to be support for her. "Maybe give him a little time see if he comes to you first if not then rain down your fury upon him." He chuckled. He meant that more so as a joke, he really didn't think Kimmy would actually do that.

But then the way she started talking to him worried him a bit. "I can understand why you should be angry and everything with all of them, but I'd hate to see you sink down to their level. You're better than that Kimmy." He reached over and partially caressed her cheek as he moved some of her hair out of her face so he could get a better look. "And you're definitely not a bitch." He smiled at her looking into her eyes before looking forward along the path once again, pulling his hand back and putting it into his pocket before he felt things got too awkward.

Kimmy was really quiet after that. Her cheeks had turned bright red when Jay had brushed the hair away and looked into her eyes. It made her feel funny in her gut but she did not dwell on it. She instead forced herself to think about what Jay had to say about her going out and making things in her eyes, right. After a second of thought she started speaking again.

"Fine, I will just talk to Tommy. But someone needs to deal with Kevin. Put him on a shorter leash. Laurie is really..." Kimberly sighed for a moment, trying to think of the most polite way she could phrase how she felt about Laurie and Kevin without sounding rude. "Laurie is the only one Kevin will listen to. She can make him stop acting like a total dickhead with just a few words."

"Kevin had no right telling me what he told me, or stealing Tommy's diary for that matter. Also who keeps a diary? Really..." She started laughing, feeling much more cheerful that she had before. Something about the way Jay talked to her, got her to open up, made her feel comfortable about everything. "Hope my moodswings aren't giving you whiplash."

"Talking is good, talking can generally solve things better than destroying things. Look at us now, we just started talking and now half the forest isn't leveled." He smirked, teasing her just a bit. Then again he had no idea how he'd react to something if he had a more destructive power. But alas, he had wings and a pretty voice. Not exactly superhero material, but as Warren showed him yesterday that it is more about the heart of a person than the powers they wield.

"I did not realize a girl who seems more awkward socially than myself could have any pull over anyone." Jay said a bit surprised. "Then again if I had long blonde hair and a cute smile I'd probably be better off but uh yeah... I honestly wonder if Laurie telling Kevin not to be a dick head would work. From what I hear he isn't really stable...the comment on stalking kind of proves that. I honestly worry more that if Laurie told him something that he didn't like...that he might do something to her, and that wouldn't be very good." Jay sighed. It was a tough situation.

"But no, he didn't have a right telling you or stealing Tommy's diary...wait." Jay replayed those last words in his head. "Tommy has a diary?" He started to laugh. "I don't believe it, seriously who keeps a diary?" He continued to chuckle before letting it go, sorta. "I mean the closest thing I got is my lyric book that has my music and some poetry in it but...yeah." He smiled.

"Its no problem Kim, and they aren't giving me whiplash, so don't worry 'bout it."

“Well you have a pretty face and redish wings. “ Kimberly pointed out. “Those two things would give you a bunch of sway over the girls here if you just acted with a little bit more confidence.” And if anyone knew anything about confidence, it would be Kimberly Parker. “And you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Nothing at all. Kevin would never hurt Laurie, and if he tried she would be able to get him to stop. Very easily.” Kimberly seemed to have given the entire situation a lot of thought. “The only person he would get violent with is Tommy. It’s sad really, but if he is right, then maybe Tommy deserves decked in the gut.”

When Jay finally caught on to the Diary aspect of the whole situation Kimmy jumped right in. “I know right? Who the hell has a diary?” She rolled her eyes, most of her words were still coming out, from a place of spite. And a part of her recognized it, and her chest hurt thinking about the whole thing. But she had been an actress once upon a time, her face didn’t even reflect the feelings and she kept on with the mask she had decided to wear, to fight back the pain, and eventually the conversation moved away from Tommy and to Jay’s lyric book.

“I use my macbook and iPhone mostly for that process. Since I record and write all my music in Fusion Pro, Garage band and Final Cut Studio, I just keep the process digital from start to finish. I even use an Electronic Acoustic guitar for some acoustic work. Clearer sound when you are recording.” It was no secret Kim used her room as a recording studio. She had even gone as far as soundproofing the entire room when she was the only one using the space.

“I am hoping my next CD is ready for October. With all the craziness that happened I was behind on that schedule, but I think I should be able to manage it. My other self had taken liberties with some of the tracks and… well its more electronic than I was aiming for, I kinda like the feel.” Kimberly blushed suddenly and shook her head. “S-Sorry… I have been talking your head off. It was hard to get into conversations with Tommy about music, cause he didn’t really get all of it…”

Jay got a little rose colored in his cheeks as she complimented him his face and wings, he looked away and down to his feet as he walked along side her. His hand coming form his pocket and scratched the back of his head a little bit "Uh, um thanks." He said. Jay had esteem issues, it was no secret. "But I hope you are right about the fact that he wouldn't hurt her, or anyone. Then again I probably shouldn't judge people with more destructive powers since I don't got anything like that. Most I think I could do is sing someone asleep...or into a fan-girl inspired rage."

"I...don't think I've ever recorded anything on my own. I get so lost with that stuff at times, My old bandmate back home used to do all that and more or less just told me when to start singing or playing." He chuckled a bit. Here he was a more or less a gifted multi-talented musician and he barely seemed to know how utilize modern equipment. He did everything by memory usually.

"I can't wait to hear the stuff." Jay said with a smile. She was a musician like himself, it was out of respect that he listen to her albums, plus some other reasons involving Kimmy personally that he listened to her stuff.

"Stop apologizing, you haven't done anything wrong Kim. It's is nice to talk to someone about music though. The only ones I know who play are Alyson and Clarice, but neither of them really seem to be there yet. So yeah, if I didn't enjoy it I wouldn't necessarily be sticking around." He smiled at her once again. He was starting to wonder why he couldn't stop smiling.

"Alyson..." Kimberly sighed and just shook her head. How could she be so similar to Kimmy and yet be so radically different. Maybe it was age. The girl didn't live through the things Kimmy had managed to. ShadowX, fighting the zombies in the City, holding a tidal wave with Bobby in japan, rushing through the void... everything. She felt so different from her roommate, and was going to be glad when she could pack up her things and move into one of the bigger college student dorms, or even better, an apartment in the city. We all had our dreams.

"I wouldn't say I am there. Alyson is in oneplace, she is lucky I guess. She got to keep everything she had before she was a mutant... career wise. Which I guess might have something to do with size and scope... the bigger you are the harder you fall kind of thing." Kimmy shrugged her shoulders and kept on. "Thats the deciding factor in what's different with me and her. I produce and compose every single song I work on. I record on my own. Every song can take months to get right... ya know? I dont have a fancy team or a real studio. Just me. I have respect for her that she can sing. Thats about where it begins and ends I guess, its probably jealousy. I just can't find a reason to like her. Which is a first. I can find reasons to like Kevin and Sam at least."

She sighed as they walked the winding road up to the institute from the woods. "I dont want to sound like I am bad mouthing her though... Just sometimes there are people in the world you just cant mesh with. There are others that somehow you feel like you have known your whole life..."
