Bedlam couldn't help but wonder if Wind Dancer's babysitters generally perished so quickly. If that was so, he'd have to keep his wits about him, lest he join the tide of deceased sitters. He didn't have many plans for the distant future, but he'd at least like to see his plans for the now come to fruition before meeting with some manner of untimely demise. He had to say that he enjoyed working with Sophia. Despite her inexperience, she got the job done and it wasn't entirely necessary for him to find a way to keep at least one eye on her the entire time. She handled her own fine. The fact still remained that she was in-fact, still in training. So he kept at least one eye on her a lot of the time. He certainly wasn't the one with the short stick, anyhow. They worked together efficiently and handled their business well enough, with no major obstacles along the way. The only obstacle was the door, which he had planned to work his magic on; Sophia made that unnecessary though. Yay for him. While he'd been warned of the coming explosions, he still hadn't anticipated their force. The violent shuddering of the construct threw him against a wall. He was literally fine, but just a bit shaken up. "Try not to sink this thing; We're still down here, and I'm not feeling a life or death escape today." He spoke outloud, but to nobody in particular. Northstar's sudden pass-through surprised Bedlam, but he'd had just a bit of forewarning, sensing the approach a moment before his collar had been upturned by the winds of his passing. Reaching up to fix it, he caught Sophia's look and spoke to reassure her. "Northstar." Then to his communicator, "Next time, it'd be nice if you let us know you when you're gonna do something like that." If they hadn't been so focused on the control room, Bedlam might've used that bit of forewarning he'd gleaned to take what may have been a threat down. Northstar had been one distraction away from a world of pain, and while Bedlam didn't know exactly how much it hurt, he'd used his abilities enough to know that it apparently hurt a lot. When their transport arrived, Bedlam paused long enough to see who their teleporter was before returning his attention to the door, once again. He moved quickly along with his teammates, taking just a few steps forward. After Wind Dancer's assault, Bedlam deflated a bit, actually moving to check behind the door, to see if there was anybody she'd missed. Nope. He stood behind her as she messed with HYDRA's computers. He wasn't extremely techno-savvy, and he assumed the position of look-out, to make sure they didn't get caught off-guard. His eyebrows rose when Wind Dancer asked for help, and he immediately looked towards Eden. He certainly had no idea what she was looking at. |

Flight/Enhanced Strength And Durability/Photonic Energy Blasts

Warbird had already gotten to her feet by the time that Sunfire was by her side and she gave him a nod in response to his questioning of her well being. Northstar was next to them suddenly, and Warbird looked to him. He made his request, or actually it was more of a statement, and Warbird was about to voice her opinion on it, but he was suddenly gone as fast as he had arrived. She looked to Sunfire again and motioned with her head to start heading towards the control room to link up with the others. ”All I need if Wind Dancer, and the two of you could make one hell of a blow dryer,” she said with a small smile in regards to the heat that he was putting off. They had only taken a few steps when Northstar was back to them with his report. She listened, but narrowed her eyes at the man. If she had known his thoughts that he was following someone who was “blind,” then perhaps she would have a few choice words for him. ”Good intel, Northstar. Thankfully you move fast, or I’d say that you just wasted a trip. I want you to go back down there and look for the bombs that they are assembling. The man that I spoke to said that they have at least one ready to go,” she said as they walked along. ”Get your ass back down there and find it… make sure that they are not arming it or that it is already armed. Let us know as soon as you know. If there are any Hydra scientists down there, we want them alive.” Warbird gave that order and then reached the edge of the platform, jumping off of it in order to where Jean had indicated the control room was. She landed just outside the door and walked in, hopefully with Firestar close behind. She saw Sophia looking over a computer with Bedlam and Eden there as well. Carol approached Eden. ”There is a neutron bomb on site and we don’t know if it is armed. I want you to be ready to do something about it if it is set to blow,” she said, looking immediately to Wind Dancer. ”Don’t mess around with that. Jean said that beyond this door is a pretty large opposition force, and then access to the levels below. I‘ll get us in.” She said these things as she stayed in constant motion to the door that led below. Northstar must have found another way down. Surely in a base this big, there were alternate routes to the levels below. However, for the rest of the team, the large metal door was blocking their way. Warbird knocked on it the door, noting that it was pretty thick steel. Her next course of action was to throw a right cross directly into the center of the door, which caused it to dent inwards. She punched the door again, this time a bit higher, and the right corner of the door bent down enough to show the light on the other side of the door. Warbird then reached into the crack and grabbed the door, her fingers sinking into the steel. With a little bit more effort, she pulled down and away, pulling the steel door through the frame and hyper extending it’s hinges until tore away from where it was mounted. Dropping the thick door onto the floor of the control room, it made a loud thud that indicated it’s massive weight. Almost immediately, gunfire erupted from the room beyond. The room was nothing more than an entrance to where the elevators were located. It was about twenty square feet in size and five soldiers had set up a barricade, overturning desks and furniture in order to make firing positions. Warbird looked inside, causing the soldiers to shoot up the side of the door that she peeked in and then looked back to the team. ”Five,” she said loudly, holding up five fingers. ”Take them out, I will take care of the elevator and then we’ll proceed down.” Giving the order, Warbird went in through the doorway and left her feet, shooting herself like a missile past the enemy soldiers and hitting the elevator doors. They gave way and she found herself in the elevator, which was now damaged beyond repair. Flying upwards, she busted through the top of the elevator and grabbed hold of the cables. Finally, she gave them a yank and ripped them from their mounts, before slamming her feet down onto the elevator with enough force to overcome the brakes. Like a ride from Disney World, Warbird rode the elevator down the shaft to the bottom, lifting off of it just in time for it to crash into the bottom. ”We’re in,” she said over her mic, which was dried out thanks to the heat that Sunfire had provided just a while before. ”Northstar, what do you have?” |

"Hmph," Sunfire grunted in response to Northstar. Perhaps their demeanors were too similar, but either way - Sunfire was not terribly fond of Northstar. But the job would get done either way, that was what mattered. Sure, they already had Wind Dancer and Bedlam inside, so they weren't going in blind, but it wasn't a terrible plan. That didn't mean that Sunfire had to acknowledge it as such. "Special circumstances," he answered to Warbird. She was making light of it, he realized, but that was not something he was either proficient in or cared to be proficient in. He took everything with the utmost of seriousness, zooming well past "uptight" and straight into "humorlessness". His job, his mission, had no room for jokes. He followed Warbird wordlessly from there, stoic and emotionless. He had figured the inner levels of this impromptu fortress would be more heavily defended. That meant only one thing in his experience - they had something very big and very dangerous inside. Perhaps a bio-robotic monstrosity, perhaps a superhuman team of their own, perhaps a very very powerful killbot. Business as usual for a group such as this. As Warbird soared over the small contingent of five soldiers defending the doorway, Sunfire flew after her, body cloaked in an intense orange blaze of hazy heat. He remained in motion as he attacked, flinging a highly concentrated ball of flame into the midst of the soldiers. He had packed it densely, compacting more heat and flame into a small space than that small space could handle. The effects were immediate and dramatic. Without Sunfire's will binding the fireball to its small size, it exploded in the midst of them, sending the soldiers airborne, scorched and screaming as they instantly became easy pickings for any of the other agents to finish off. |

(EDITED) He was so amped for this, even that freaky gust of wind didn't throw him off his game.....it was strange though. He was in position, and when the keycard got swiped, the door opened and the girl went to work blasting people in her way across the room with a concussive gust of air....nice. He was right behind her and the other guy, his arms becoming blurs as he loosed his volley of arrows and sent them soaring to meet their targets. THWIK, THWIK, THWIK; right shoulder, left thigh, right arm. Each shot was true, and while painful in every sense of the word, non-fatal. Eden wasn't as fast as Northstar in movement speed, but he didn't need to be thanks to his teleportation. Three nearly simultaneous screams of pain were followed by Eden popping up in their face and delivering a merciful knockout blow. Between himself, Wind Dancer and Bedlam, the Op-For was neutralized in moments....they never knew what hit them. It wasn't long before WD got on one of the computer stations and began scouring through info; shortly after that she asked them over to see if they knew what they were viewing. He delivered a swift kick to one of the men who was trying to remain conscious, then he was at Sofia's side, staring down at the monitor. He wasn't a computer whiz, but he knew a thing or two from hours spent searching the web and actually listening to the SHIELD techs when they spoke to him. They were looking at components for some sort of large explosive, more than likely a bomb. "Yeah.....we should be very worried; I'm not 100%, but I think we're lookin at the components of a bomb....a really big....really powerful bomb." He was searching through the rather long list of all the materials and such needed to make the bomb a reality, and his fears were realized when he figured they'd already made the thing. Shortly after that Warbird and the heavier hitters of the team entered the room, and she walked right up to Eden. It was good she already knew about the bomb, that saved a lot of explaining. His heart dropped though when the word Neutron came out of her mouth; that meant that the explosive wasn't what they needed to worry about....it was the radiation fallout that came with it. He nodded his head and pointed to the monitor; "Here's a list of what they used to make the blasted thing, and don't worry, if they have armed it; I'll get it handled." After everyone got on the same page, Warbird smashed down the door leading to the elevator, and Eden was glad he wasn't behind her because the soldiers in the room started letting off rounds downrange...and unlike the beautiful blond powerhouse, he wasn't bulletproof. He teleported to the side of the door and peeked his head around the corner; he pulled it back quickly though before they could get a sight on him. Following behind Warbird, Sunfire tossed a ball of plasma, and when Eden heard the explosion, he went to work. Notching another arrow, he pulled it tight before swinging around the corner and taking aim at one of the unlucky men now flying through the air while on fire. Eden let loose his arrow and watched grimly as it pierced the mans chest; it was through the heart so he was dead.....that was good for both of them because they guy was going to die from his burns if not the arrow. There were enough soldiers to go around, but he kept another arrow at the ready in case someone else needed the Robin Hood treatment. After the last of the puny defense force was taken down, Eden peered down the elevator shaft; and boy was it a long way down. He couldn't survive that fall, but that's where teleporting mastery came in; and thankfully he could control how he left and arrived, meaning that if he jumped off and had a little fun, he wouldn't keep his momentum and go splat when he ported to the ground. Before Wind Dancer went over the edge, he gave her a quick salute and a smile. "You're a lucky man Bedlam, you get to ride the lovely Mantega express, while I on the other hand will be using the direct approach. See you guys at the bottom;" with a smile, he leaned over the lip of the shaft and let gravity do it's thing. The shaft was wide enough to compensate an entire elevator box, and still have room for maintenance; that meant Eden had plenty of space to have fun during his free fall. That fun included twirls, flips, flourishes, and poses while he plummeted to the bottom of the shaft. Finally his fun was over, and at about 30 feet above the floor, he opened portal A, entered, then exited in that same instance through portal B....30 feet lower. He stood to his full height and tapped his earpiece to make sure he'd heard Northstar correctly, and it turns out he did; the bomb was active and in less than 15 minutes, it would explode, dousing whatever area it was in with lethal radiation. He immediately began thinking of places that could safely dispose of the thing.....space seemed the most obvious choice....there were also several desert areas that hosted no life and would be perfect; the final choice was the team leaders though, and he looked to Warbird to see what she wanted to do. |

Northstar stood in front of the two other agents, all of his cards were on the table. He had acted on his own. Some would call that reckless and others ignorant. He thought that his plan was better which was why he acted on that impulse. Usually a common trend with the Canadian was that if there were two roads laid out in front of him and one was better in his opinion (usually of his own fabrication) then he followed that road. This mentality was so heavily ingrained in his persona that it would likely never change throughout his entire life. ”Good intel, Northstar… Get your ass back down there and find it…” Warbird was sure of what she wanted and was able to vocalize it with assurance and confidence. Northstar did respect the woman because she was so powerful. The young man knew this powerful and strong personality was no mask to hide any underlying personal foibles. Northstar replied with a sharp head nod and within the second left the site they were standing at to find an entrance to where they were holding the bomb. Jean-Paul went through the same door as he had done before speeding through the halls but with a much better idea of where he was going this time. His turns and decisions were sharp and followed by a sure personality and the fact that he was seldom wrong. Admitted wrong that was. He stormed through the halls similar as before but this time looking for a different room rather than to simply gather a feeling for how many soldiers remain. Before soon, the young agent had found the control room that had been rid of terrorist by Bedlam, Wind Dancer, and the recruit who he had not gotten a name from. Soon he was on the computer next to the one the young girl and new recruit hovered by. He was looking through hundreds of security camera views looking for the single one. There it was… the bomb or rather bombs. The coding for the security camera title was fairly simple. The first digits were the level, the second was the wing, and the third was the room. The security camera was found on the 5th level which Jean-Paul had not visited yet, the west wing, and room 111. On his way out Jean decided to address Bedlam who had obnoxiously confronted him over the comm. Devices, a cowardly way but it was done nonetheless, “Jesse, I’ll make sure and make a note that you are easily frightened. Won’t happen again.” Jean-Paul then shed a grin dripped in sarcasm and malice. Jean-Paul made his way to the room quickly and efficiently. He walked into the room to see several scientists pull some small pistols on him. A strange sight to see them pull weaponry from the clean white lab coats. “Oh dam-“ Northstar then burst off in a bright light and quickly disarmed the men. These were not trained terrorists, they were mere lab junkies. He quickly zip tied the engineer’s hands as they screamed insults to the man. Jean then looked in amazement at the two bombs. They were more than complete that much was clear. ”Northstar, what do you have?” “I am no expert, but I think these two bombs are past assembling. They are assembled; then again, I am no expert,” Jean-Paul reported what he saw to Warbird. He hoped that there was no more surprises around the corner. While gazing around the room, one of the engineers managed to wobble over to one of the bomb and press a series of buttons resulting in a long electronic beep. The young man looked back to see a guilty looking engineer. Before the man could blink JP was in his face with a fist being delivered straight to the jaw. The force was enough to knock the man out and the SHIELD agent looked down to the bomb to see a timer counting down from fifteen minutes. “Warbird, we have a problem. One of the bombs is armed and we have less than fifteen minutes.” His voice was cold and serious, he had no clue what was to come in the future. |

She was clueless and not understanding what exactly it was she was looking at. The dossiers, inventory lists and random shipping manifests meant little to her. They were just a bunch of items too disconnected in her mind to piece together what these various components listed all meant. Bedlam had come to stand behind her but like her he didn’t seem to have any idea what they were looking at, but their backup, the Teleporter seemed to know....thank God. She thought in relief at least someone could shed some light on the ... "Yeah.....we should be very worried...” he started breaking her train of thought. And that didn’t sound good. Sofia thought to herself as she deflated a little. The sound of the Teleporter’s voice was not hopeful and she moved away from the computer to give the man more room to work and look. “I'm not 100%, but I think we're lookin at the components of a bomb....a really big....really powerful bomb." Yeah definitely not a good sign, Sofia thought as she watched him search through the long list of all the materials and such needed to make the bomb a reality, and their fears were realized when Warbird’s voice sounded behind them in warning. ”There is a neutron bomb on site and we don’t know if it is armed. I want you to be ready to do something about it if it is set to blow,” Warbird had said to the Teleporter The male agent nodded his head at Warbird as he appeared to agree and then pointed to the monitor; "Here's a list of what they used to make the blasted thing, and don't worry, if they have armed it; I'll get it handled." The blonde agent’s eyes then fell upon Sofia. ”Don’t mess around with that. Jean said that beyond this door is a pretty large opposition force, and then access to the levels below. I‘ll get us in.” The Venezuelan girl’s hand instinctively pulled away from the keyboard as if it were suddenly lit a fire and avoiding contact at all costs. She watched as Warbird moved towards the metallic doors causing Sofia to stand up from her seat and head there with the others as they awaited their team leader’s signal. Everything just seemed to flow and be in constant motion, without pause or reprieve, then again there was a dangerous bomb being built within a nest of HYDRA so really did anyone have the luxury of a respite? No. So instead Sofia watched as Warbird ‘knocked’ on the thick steel door then threw a right cross directly into the center of the door, causing the door it to dent and buckle inwards. Sofia couldn’t help but be in awe of the woman. It wasn’t just an inner strength the woman possessed but physical strength as well. And it was a thing to witness as the walls shuddered from the impact and the thunderous sound as Warbird punched the door again, this time a bit higher, and the right corner of the door bent down enough to show the light on the other side of the door. The blonde SHIELD agent then reached into the crack and grabbed the door, her fingers sinking into the steel as she pulled the steel door through the frame hyper extending the hinges until it was torn away from its mountings. Dropping the thick door onto the floor of the control room, it made a loud thud that indicated its massive weight. Almost immediately Sofia heard gunfire erupt from the room beyond as Warbird looked inside, causing the soldiers to shoot up the side of the door that she peeked in and then the blonde agent looked back to the rest of them. As Warbird soared over the small contingent of five soldiers defending the doorway, Sunfire flew after Warbird his body shrouded in an intense orange inferno of hazy heat as he slung a highly concentrated ball of flame into the midst of the soldiers. The effect of the Japanese agent’s powers were instantaneous and another site to behold as Sofia had followed after them. Bullets rained in all directions causing the Venezuelan girl to duck behind the wall just before entering the room Warbird and Sunfire headed into. Her back pressed against the wall as she reflexively cringed as the bullets rained and she heard them thud against the thick wall she stood behind. She wasn’t bullet proof like some others so needed to bide her time to strike. Soldiers were sent airborne scorched and screaming from Sunfire’s attack; her queue to make her entrance just as the Teleporter blinked into the scene firing an arrow through a burning man’s heart. Sofia used her ability to hurl a concussive blast of air at a burning soldier, slamming him against a wall hard and snuffing out the fire. The HYDRA soldier’s limp body slumped to the ground like a burned ragdoll; the soldier’s uniform and skin all charred to a crisp as he lay still and unconscious from the concussive blast. Then a loud shudder sounded that shook the floors in the room as Warbird busted her way through the elevator shaft allowing the elevator itself to crash into the bottom. She followed the other team members as they headed down the shaft but stopped just in time to look back at Bedlam. She wasn’t sure if he needed a lift down or not but she’d oblige him if he wished turning to smile at her teammate. “Well Amigo you want to hop on the Mantega express or you have your own way down?” she asked Bedlam but wouldn’t take offense if he chose to go down an alternate method but if he chose to join her then she would ensure that they were both encased in a cocoon of wind to disperse the heat from the elevator explosion earlier and slow the descent to the bottom meeting up with the others. The winds calmed around the Venezuelan as her booted feet alighted lightly on the floor. ”We’re in,” Sofia heard Warbird say into her communicator obviously addressing Northstar. ”Northstar, what do you have?” “I am no expert, but I think these two bombs are past assembling. They are assembled; then again, I am no expert,” Northstar reported back. Sofia listened as Northstar relayed his findings and their situation which wasn’t sounding good at the moment, then again this entire day for the Venezuelan girl was not good so really should she be any more surprised? Then her teammate’s voice continued to sound in their com-links and the news only served to increase the sinking curdling feeling in the pit of her stomach; her teammate had found the bomb fully assembled and armed. “Warbird, we have a problem. One of the bombs is armed and we have less than fifteen minutes.” Northstar’s voice sounded cold and serious. Yeah...not a good day at all. Sofia thought to herself. |

The elevator hit the bottom floor and kicked up dust and debris, but unlike most movies out there, it did not explode or do anything dramatic. That is, until Warbird landed on top of it and crushed it inward, bending it down like a tin can so that she could access the next set of doors that would lead to the bottom level. Carol reached to the dual sliding doors and opened them, overcoming the gears that were attempting to hold them shut easily. She then took a step into the bottom level of the complex, pausing only long enough to reach up to her ear piece. ”Eden, get down here and follow me to the bomb. If we can't defuse it then I'll need you to send this thing to oblivion,” Warbird said as she walked forward. Gunshots began to ring out around her as the Hydra resistance met her in the hallway. She proceeded forward through the shots, raising an arm up to protect her face from being hit. Just as the guards began to catch on that their bullets weren't doing anything to the intruder, Warbird accelerated into quick sprint and covered the last bit of the distance quickly. Stopping in the middle of the five Hydra soldiers, Warbird grabbed the first one to her right by the arm and slung him around, hitting another one with the first. She then raised up both hands to two others, shooting them nearly point blank with concussive blasts, launching them across the room and into the adjacent wall. Finally, the fifth soldier dropped his weapon and went to his knees in order to surrender. Carol reached down to this collar and picked him up so that he was eye to eye with her. ”The bomb. It has been set for fifteen minutes. Can you defuse it, or should I leave you here to die when it explodes?” “I... I have no idea how to..” Carol slammed him into the wall before he could finish, knocking him unconscious. It was amazing how truthful someone could become when threatened with death. She continued down the corridors towards Northstar's position, running into minimal opposition along the way. When she did encounter resistance, she quickly dispatched them with a fierce punch or a concussive blast. As the ticker on the bomb was reaching 13:00, Warbird entered the laboratory room that Northstar was in. ”Let's see what we've got,” she said to Jean-Paul as she walked across the room towards the bomb. She approached it and looked down to the controls, making a face as it read 12:50. The keypad looked like a standard numerical pad and without a clue what the number sequence was and the amount of digits it required, they would have a slim chance to disarm it. SHIELD EOD could possibly diffuse the bomb, but there was no way they could arrive within the twelve minute time period. Nodding to herself, she looked to Jean-Paul as she made the decision. ”Eden, get down here now. I want this bomb disposed of. Everyone else, make a final sweep of the building and secure any prisoners that remain,” Warbird said and walked a few steps towards Northstar. She smiled at him. ”This has gone pretty smooth. I think we might have a good team here.” |

"Hmph," Sunfire grunted as Warbird's command came through over the radio. He had to admit, though, it was impressive that SHIELD was willing to put the effort and the technological prowess necessary into making a headset that was immune to the immense heat he radiated when his powers were active. Needless to say, Sunfire wasn't much one for the "take prisoners" mentality, not when dealing with actual evil like this. Bank robbers? Lock them away. Rioters? By all means, send them to jail. International terrorist organizations with bombs that could kill thousands, maybe millions in one fell swoop? Burn them all and be done with it. But he could appreciate the value in taking some of these Hydra fiends prisoner. Extract information from them, take down other cells - it was distasteful to him to leave evil alive, but in this case, if it was of any value, if these Hydra operatives were self-serving enough to sell out their cause in exchange for their own lives, then it may be worthwhile. Maybe. "I shall take the east wing of the compound," he said to Wind Dancer and Bedlam with a sharp nod of his head. "You two take the west." And with that, he soared down the hallway, leaving a trail of scorch marks on either wall in his wake. The soldiers he encountered on his way were scattered, disorganized, panicking. They knew they had lost, they knew they were defeated. They were more concerned with fleeing the wrath of the SHIELD strike force than going out in a blaze of glory. "Damn it, make it go faster!" he heard in the distance ahead as the hallway opened up wide to a submersible launch bay. "I can't, sir! The undocking mechanisms took some damage and it's not -" "I said make it work faster! They're coming, can't you hear that?" Sunfire would have smirked if he was the smirking type. His expression remained stoic, but inside, he knew he had lucked upon something valuable. A commanding officer. He streaked his way into the launch bay and blasted a stream of highly concentrated flame at the docking grip, welding the clamp to the submarine. "NO! No, damn it! You won't take me, you -" the commanding officer, differentiated from the lower ranked soldiers around him by a golden sash across his green jumpsuit, screeched as he pulled a pistol out. "Yes, I will," was Sunfire's answer as he swooped down, grabbed the officer by the straps on his jumpsuit and continued ahead, wildly erratic gunfire from the few Hydra soldiers left in the area missing him by a wide margin. "Put me down! Put me -" "You will remain silent, or I will decide that you are not worth taking in unharmed. I am certain that SHIELD will not be terribly upset if I take you to them with third degree burns all over your body." The officer fell silent, hanging loosely in Sunfire's grip. "Warbird," Sunfire called out over his radio. "I have in my possession a ranked officer. Returning to base with my prisoner. Good luck." He then picked up speed, blazing above the surface of the water and out to open air, making his way back to the base they had departed from. |

After she took off down the corridor, Eden sprinted after Warbird at a measured pace; unlike his fearless leader, he wasn't bulletproof, and he had no inclination to teleport into the midst's of the many soldiers with guns that they seemed to be encountering. He was more than happy to make sure those she wasn't too preoccupied with stay down after she was finished with them though. True she had super speed, but he was keeping up with her somewhat until two of the guys she'd literally knocked across the room proved to be made of sterner stuff than their comrades. Several of them got up and aimed their weapons at Eden; although being slightly disoriented helped his cause a great deal. Quickly unsheathing his blade, he hurled it with laser precision, then teleported to the side of one and literally choke slammed him while his khukuri sunk deep into the other ones leg. While he was screaming, Eden kicked his comrade in the face and put him to sleep; then he yanked the blade free, turned it to dulls side of the blade and cracked him in the head with it. He wiped the blood off on the guy who it belonged to, then he took off again after Warbird. While he was running, his comm crackled to life and Warbird's voice poured through it. ”Eden, get down here now. I want this bomb disposed of. Everyone else, make a final sweep of the building and secure any prisoners that remain.” He tapped it with his finger and replied, the exertion visible in his voice; "Affirmative, almost there." It wasn't long before his booted feet slid to a stop in the lab, and of course Northstar and Warbird were already there; along with them was the bomb, which was much bigger than Eden had imagined or hoped. It would require a very large portal to transport it, and it would require all his concentration to keep it on course and not have it pop up somewhere random, like a heavily populated city or something. Stopping a few feet from the bomb, he put his index and middle finger to his forehead and did some math that would determine the best location to dispose of the bomb. He was so focused on his task, he didn't realize he was muttering out loud, but it really didn't matter, he needed concentration to make this work. "29 degrees, 26'1 North, by 7 degrees, 19'34 East. Sahara desert, that could work; no, too much chance, one area irradiated for who knows how long. No choice....does space have latitude and longitude, does it really matter? No not really, just gotta get it gone; probably gonna be drained afterward, doesn't matter....complete the mission." His eyes popped open when he finally came out of his psuedo-trance. "Wherever I send this thing on the planet, that spots gonna be doused with radiation for God knows how long.....so I'm gonna send it somewhere else. You might wanna step back though, I've never transported something so large, so far before...wouldn't want you to get sucked along with it." Once he was sure they got his meaning, he clapped his hands and rubbed them together, as this was going to be one of the hardest things he'd ever done. The opening was slow, as he had to literally rip open the fabric of space at his current location, and simultaneously do the same thing in the void above; while doing that he had to find the best route between the two openings, and weave it together to create a warp tunnel. It was a tedious process, especially with the distance involved and the size of the bomb, but once he'd gotten it stabilized, he moved his portal so it was under the bomb, and then it dropped. He closed his portal off and when he felt the bomb eject the other one, it vanished as well. The strain forced him to his knees, and when he looked up at them, his face was beaded with sweat, and a stream of blood was trickling from one of his nostrils; he was also breathing heavily like he'd just sprinted a 5k race or something. "It's.....it's taken care of; I uh, I figured that....well I sent it into space, problem solved....no massive radiation fallout for planet Earth...and somewhere, someone lookin up at the night sky gets to see free fireworks." He stood up, perhaps a little too quickly, and his still weak knees almost gave out; he found a nice comfy chair though and plopped down in it. He would be ready to exfil the team though when the time came; for now he just wanted a quick rest. |

”Let's see what we've got,” Jean-Paul looked up from the group of HYDRA members to Warbird. For working with the woman for a single mission he knew that she was very efficient. Carol was a woman in power among SHIELD rankings and essentially directed all agents on the mission with flawless ease. Despite, doing things her way Jean was sure that there would be a few things he could critique after the mission. Now Jean-Paul had experienced too many waves of adrenaline to think purely on criticism. However, the blonde was doing a great job even if Jean-Paul could probably do a better job if he was the one handling the reigns. Warbird made her way to the bomb. It was a devilish piece of machinery meant for one purpose only, destruction. A single drop of this bomb would destroy a population within a given about of space, it would destroy the economy of a single city and if it was large enough an entire nation. Jean-Paul then wondered to himself where HYDRA planed on detonating the bomb. D.C., New York, London, Paris, Dubai were all giant cities that would be prime targets for a terrorist organization. The Canadian then thought about the motives behind the bomb. What exactly would HYDRA achieve if they were able to detonate the bomb in a populous area? If they thought that they were going to achieve world domination or something as equally cliché they were far from the truth. If the Brotherhood caught wind of an all human terrorist organization they would probably squash that quicker than communism in a modern world. Northstar was almost too lost in thought that he had almost missed Warbird’s commands. The mission was coming to a close, but JP was not going to loose his edge. Those were the kind of mistakes that got rookies killed. Northstar was to make a final sweep of the building; he chose to wait until Eden showed up so that he knew to leave Warbird in semi-good hands. He didn’t know much of Eden but if he was able to get rid of a the bomb he was capable of something. Eden came to stop in the lab and moved over to the bomb. Jean-Paul stepped back and was going to let him do his work in peace. ”This has gone pretty smooth. I think we might have a good team here.” Northstar grinned back at Warbird. She must feel pretty confident in the teleporter to feel so relaxed. “There is no doubt we have a good team. The smooth part is up to your own perspective,” Jean-Paul said partially friendly with a single dry chuckle at the end. Eden then requested that the two stand back so they were not teleported to the same location as the bomb. That would most definitely be an unhappy ending to the mission. JP watched as Eden ripped the fabric of space, if the agent was not so straight faced he would have been wide eyed in amazement as the portal engulfed the bomb. In a brief second the bomb was gone and Eden was kneeling on the ground. Jean-Paul was not sure if he should help his fellow agent and before he could act Eden was moving back over to a chair. Jean strolled over to Eden, “after I gather the other HYDRA members I will come back and make sure that you are evacuated safely. That is if you do not feel ready to teleport,” Jean-Paul said coldy then tapped on his comm. device, “keep in touch.” With that Jean nearly vanished with an accompanying breeze and he was speeding around the rig as if he had known it better than his own house. The young agent gathered those who were unconscious, zip tied, or a combination of the two. JP piled the agents atop the rig in the center of the platform. It was clear to any oncoming SHIELD vehicles that there was a pile of terrorists in kitschy green uniforms. “I need an evac’ of fifteen or more prisoners. Immediately.” Jean waited for any sign of transportation from the military. He then spoke into his communication device again, “Warbird, anything else?” |
