JP Violey/Jayson

Danger Room session were not new to the French aerokinetic. The first time she stepped foot into this room would be a day she would not forget. Back then feats of technology as great as the Danger Room scared her. She had to be escorted out of the room by one of the teachers and taken to the infirmary. Later on Violey would step in this room only a number of times. Basic programs were set-up for her group at first until she slowly got used to the holograms. By the time she left the mansion, Violey had grown to idea of the scenery changing so easily. Though, she still did not like it.

Now, two and half years after leaving the mansion, Violey looked forward to the session with only a slight twist in her stomach. Like how her friend felt on jets. Uneasy.

Violey pulled at the sleeve of the spare X-suit Jayson let her borrow. Training in a nice pant suit and heeled shoes called for wardrobe malfunctions and broken ankles. It was her who pushed for the session yet she did not look thrilled. What program did Jayson have in mind for them? It was under her clearance the session would run. Violey sighed to herself. As long as the setting was in an open area then everything would be for the better. The thing Violey needed the most right now was it to begin. Once it started she knew she would be OK.

As Jayson set up the program she could not help but think that Rictor and Jay were at a disadvantage. Unlike she and Violey the two just met. Jayson wondered if Jay knew Rictor's powers? Heck, Violey even forgot to mention that bit to her. Didn't matter, Jay wouldn't have known Violey's powers anyways. Hmm, maybe that was a problem.

"OK, this is going to be a mystery quest," Jayson said as she typed in the last bit of information, "Set on an abandoned cruise ship. Rictor and Icarus are the guards on the ship while Ventus and I are sent to steal a mysterious item on one of the lower levels. So, basically we must be stopped. However the item is not known to either team."

Jayson then smiled, "The only warning I'm giving you to not touch my skin." She gave a laugh. "Now let's begin!"

At her command the stark grey tones of the Danger Room changed to an ocean blue. Close to a city the cruise ship sat anchored in the waves. Rictor and Jay were on the top deck while Jayson and Violey were on a small motor boat heading for its stern. Though in disarray, the cruise ship looked to have only been abandoned less than a week. What neither team knew was the reason why the overtly expensive ship became abandoned was still somewhere below deck. Rictor and Jay were hired as guards to keep anyone from stepping foot on deck, not to explore the ship.

Jayson pointed to a watch on her wrist. "This will beep the closer we get to the item," she told Violey. "The others weren't issued one since they're just guards."

Not acknowledging her friend Violey took to the air. "I will distract them," she said to Jayson. The aerokinetic gave a disapproving look at Jayson before flying off. "To put an earthquake maker on a ship is rather dense."

Violey sent a volley of gusting winds at Rictor and Jay in hope they wouldn't notice Jayson as she boarded by being too focused on their footing. Jayson maneuvered the boat to a boarding ladder and shut off the engine. After tying it to the ladder she began to climb. Suddenly she thought she may have made the session a little more difficult than she wanted. "Yes, it was stupid of me," she said.

The Danger Room. Quite easily one of the most advanced pieces of technology ever built on Earth. Capable of creating illusions, real enough to cause pain. Tucked away quietly under a school. Once before Rictor had entered this room. A while back, at a time when he was a little less stressed, and little more blithe. It was a passing occasion just as it was today, and though it was only for a few hours it was an event difficult to forget.

This whole challenge had taken Ric off guard. Sure, he knew he was instigating and being rude. He half expected Jayson to say something, but to hear Violey speak up was something different. She was a teammate that Ric did not know to well, but to be so bold as to stand up to Ric’s poor attitude was something, that from his own perspective was almost out of character. Be that the case, Rictor realized that there was more to his teammate that he had yet to discover.

Unlike his teammate, Rictor didn’t have any sort of training dress to change into. Though that wasn’t much of a hindrance, he didn’t really care for uniforms anyway. They were too tight and one could never really be as comfortable in one as in casual dress. Despite rules back at X-Factor, Ric never wore the standard uniform either, mainly out of pride and resistance to being on of SHEILD’s pets. Instead he just shed his trademark black and red motorcycle jacket, and went in wearing his jeans and wife beater.

Listening as Jayson explained the rules of the challenge with a dull gaze. Though it didn’t look it, he listened very closely to what she said, a habit he picked up after having gone on numerous missions. The details were vague, but the mission was simple. Guard the object, whatever it may be.

Ric did not care to put in his input on where their challenge would be set. He didn’t know the extent of technology or capabilities of the Danger Room and was more comfortable to let those with experience decide. But as soon as he realized exactly where they were he regretted not saying something. A cruise ship. That made things dangerous. When smashing mountains becomes old hat, a cruise ship is like a tin can in an earthquake. A fact that worked to his advantage as long as he didin’t sink the vessel. Sure, he could do immense damage to the hulking ship, but he would rather not split it in half while still on board. Ric was no engineer, he knew nothing of how much the steel structure could withstand. It wasn’t like a building, which all seemed to collapse the same way, it was hollow, yet the rooms honeycombed, giving it strength. Everything attached through pipes and grates, one thing moved and so would everything else.

He couldn’t think about that right now. Right now his main priority was finding Violey and Jayson. He didn’t need to stop them right away, but knowing where they were was foremost vital. Licking his lips he turned to the student who would act as his teammate.

“Jay right? Ven aquí. We need to find them, don’t let them get below deck without the both of us knowing.” He ordered, hurriedly, wanting to get into finding them as soon as possible. Lucky for them, Violey made herself obvious less than five minutes into the simulation. Though upset that he had been cut off before he could say anything else to Jay.

Ric was not the easiest person to catch off balance, but caught off guard he stood no chance against the mighty torrent of wind. He stumbled backward several steps but never loosing his footing. With a grunt he turned his face out of the wind, using his hands to block what currents he could. Completely oblivious, to Jayson’s boarding. He could have tried sending small airborne waves in Violey’s direction, but with the wind the chances of him meeting his target was slim.

It was out of the corner of his eye that Rictor saw the upper deck’s pool behind him. Though he didn’t want to leave his teammate, he used the opportunity to make his move. Unlocking his knees, he loosened his muscles to the force of Violey’s winds and let them push him backwards into the pool. Falling about five feet before landing on his back, in 6 inches of dirty pool water. The concave nature of the pool forcing wind flow to go over him. Protected from the wind, but having lost visibility of both Violey and Jay from inside the hole.

Having rolled himself over, he ducked down waiting for Violey to come into view again. So that in theory, he could send off airborne vibrations, no longer hindered by the gusts.

"I can't believe I got talked into this." Jay muttered before things got started.

He wasn't really even sure how he ended up here. Started off with two people coming to the school, and he just ended up being the only person around then. What was he going to do before they came? Oh just spend a nice day out in the sun, watch the clouds go by...maybe a few girls. Who knew.

But now he was in a Danger Room session with a guy he never met before facing one of the X-Men, and a girl he never met before. It just seemed like an odd situation for the student. Despite his age, he was inexperienced with combat situations, he never really had a taste for it. He fought only when he had to, or to defend or protect family, which happened more often than you'd think for the former farm boy. He listened to Jayson as she explained the rules, and it just felt a bit odd to him. Mostly cause he didn't want to fight a girl...or girls in this case.

"Jay or Icarus when we're here." Jay commented to Rictor. "If things look bad for us...just sink the ship." The red head said quietly to his partner. "Rock-solid said it herself, they win only if they get the item. We're supposed to keep them from getting it." It could have been a really smart or really dumb idea. "But that's worse case scenario...So let's try and avoid that." The angel smirked.

His wings raised up to brace himself from the wind just a bit. His eyes and body were suited to face the wind at high speeds. It didn't bug him that much. In fact he let his wings spread and used the wind to start getting himself in the air. "Take care of Rock-Solid, I'll keep Blondie busy." Jay said to Rictor before he started to fly towards Violey, quickly gaining speed.

What he was gonna do once he got up close would probably depend upon what Violey did.
