Hey, I'm one of the new members, here, my character is a Morlock and I am curious if anyone wants to RP. I got a Character Plot Page so you can look at that to get a basic idea of him.

Mostly I just want to get this character more involved in the RP here, but I can't seem to think of anyway to really get him out there, so again, just seeing if anyone cares to RP with me. Just PM me or leave a reply below if your interested.

Time of Day: 12 PM (Noon)
Place in Timeline: October 30, 2010

Somehow he knew, somehow he knew all along he'd end up here. It was sometime after the man with the visor came to visit him, it was about then that everything was going crazy. People had been taken over by some virus, hundreds had died and it was also when he realized it was time to take Mr. Summers up on his offer. That's what had led him here, to the Xavier Institute. He didn't have a back pack, he only had the clothes on his back. A hooded black sweat shirt, and a tattered pair of denim jeans. Sneakers that looked like Ridley hadn't taken them off in a long time. And he hadn't, considering that living in condemned buildings and hanging out in alleys made up most of his days.

He hoped that would change now though, as he stepped up to the gates to enter the grounds. His mind reaching out, feeling the energy of the mansion, it was vibrant. It had to do with the fact that everyone was a mutant, they always seemed to be more 'energized' then humans. Of course, that wasn't always true, so it was an unreliable feeling he could get off someone. His energy though, was toned down for today, not wanting to grab too much attention with his arrival.

There was a small intercom on the side of the gate, his hand coming up to hit the call button, him only hearing a slight buzz on his end. He waited patiently, hands finding their way into the torso pocket of the sweatshirt. Brown hues scanning the immediate area, wondering if anyone would answer, wondering if he'd be abandoned here at this gate. Part of him wanted to simply push some energy into the ground under him, and shoot up and over the gate. But he had to start a new life, or at least try to. Everything he cared about was gone. His parents and his best friend were dead, and he was to blame for both of them.

He turned to the mansion, not because he felt it was the right decision, but rather because it was the only option left. Unknowing to him though, this decision would change his life forever. His hand would reach out and hit the intercom button again, telling himself that someone had just not heard it the first time.

She had an hour before her next class, and so she took a quick break at the dining hall before heading out for a quick run. The world flashed around her, the electrical impulses blasting from her feet shrouding her lower half in a bright white net of lightning. As she darted about the grounds, she passed by a target practice session, an art class that was being held outside, and a few people just chilling here and there about the institute.

Her little ‘jog’ served two purposes. First off, it would get her good and ready for her next class. She knew they were running an obstacle course in the Danger Room today, and this would serve to get her heart going. Second off, she needed to burn off a few kilowatts of juice beforehand, so she didn’t get all loopy during class. She passed the front gate. Passed it again a minute or so later at the pace she was trying to keep, passed it one more time. A few more laps and she should be good to go. Once more she blazed by, the world strobed in and out of view as her eyes processed the rapid changes in visual stimuli. ’Wait a sec, was that a… The tailwhip of blue lightning came around again a minute later, fizzling out to reveal a girl in her late teens skidding to a stop in the center of the driveway, eyeing the newcomer for a second.

She looked like she hadn’t even broken a sweat, but that wasn’t to say she looked fine. She was still trying to get the hang of running at high speeds. It was something she hadn’t started utilizing a lot until recent weeks. The disorienting nature of high speed travel still got to her, and as the electrical energy began to draw back into the bulky metallic gauntlets that adorned her arms, her face returned to a state of normalcy, and she cracked a smile as she moved towards the gated entryway. Pulling off her beanie, she revealed her electric blue hair. He looked like he was having issues getting in. Reaching the gate, she crossed her arms and eyed him up and down.

“Uhhh, howdy, stranger. Hold on. That intercom thing mighta been my fault. I’ve been buzzing by here for the last ten minutes or so.” She moved to the interior unit, pushing the button. “Uh…Mr. Summers? Mrs. Grey-Summers? Anybody? There’s a kid out here ‘wants in.”

The static was interrupted as Cyclops came to the call of the intercom. He asked Surge to describe him, and after a short exchange, confirmed him as Ridley Aran, someone who he'd approached once before. Giving the go ahead, Surge pushed the button to open the gates, the wrought-iron swinging inward as she stepped around it to greet the newcomer.

"Hello, Ridley. I'm Noriko. Noriko Ashida,"

Ridley hadn't been there long, but him being here was a vulnerability, he felt weak showing up here. And him being outside the front gates only made that feeling more real. It made him want to leave, every passing moment giving his mind another reason to move back to the streets. But then, he felt a sudden spike in energy. Then, there stood a blue haired girl on the other side of the fence. Ridley's eye brow perked up a bit, as she seemed to cackle with electricity. Her arms were covered in what seemed to be some form of armor, something that caught his glance. She greeted him, being polite. Of course, as his hands came out of his sweat shirt they'd find themselves hooking upon his jeans. "Yeah, I saw that...sorta." His words short and sweet, a small chuckle brought to his lips. He wasn't rude, but he wasn't the most polite of people.

Then she moved towards the intercom on the inside of the fence, and as she spoke into it, a name she spoke caught his attention. A Mr. Summers had been the one that came to find him, a 'Cyclops' had been the guy. Ridley specifically remembered the visor, but at the time he had turned him down. Yet here he was, not long after that very day, answering the offer he had given him. The blue haired female seemed to describe Ridley and then after a bit longer of a conversation, she opened the gate. The creaking metal of it, a surprisingly welcome sound. Stepping through it, he'd smirk, happy to finally be insides the gate...his decision to come here, now a final one with no turning back.

She introduced herself, and as Ridley stepped a bit further in past the gates he'd look around for a moment, before finally turning his eye son her. "Hello Noriko. I uh..." He didn't know what to say, cause there wasn't much to say. His life had been wretched, and this place seemed to be the only sense of redemption. Then again, you could take the boy out of the fight, but you can't take the fight out of the boy, or so the nay-sayers had said. The invisible energy that pulsed through his body lightly, made him confident and brash, but not to a cute girl with flashy blue hair and who gave off energy like a conduit. "I'm here because Mr. Summers said this was a place for people with...special abilities." He already knew he was in the right place, the girl had been sparking with electricity not long ago.

Ridley had always known searching for the next law enforcement free place to sleep, always on the run and always cold and hungry. The pure thought of a nice warm bed and warm meals was really comforting.

Lunch hour was one of the hours that Alyson truly enjoyed during the Weekdays. Outside of classes, that is. Her blue eyes lit up as she walked through the gardens. She loved the gardens.. She had ever since she came to the institute. They were normally the place that the brunette went for a bit of comfort.. A bit of relaxation. Normally she sat under a large oak, but given the fact that it was Autumn the tree had molted all of its leaves for winter by now.. And there was no doubt that they'd still be scattered across the ground.

The teenager was wearing a black long sleeved sweater that stopped at about her shoulders, and a white tank top underneath that. She was wearing blue denim jeans and black converse with it. To top the look off, she was wearing a brimmer styled hat. She loved these types of hats and would often be found wearing one in the winter, autumn, or even the spring. It wasn't that uncommon, and the students - and X-men - that were around this time of year, last year, probably would have known that she is generally ever caught without one, maybe one, twice.

Jotting something down in the notebook, Alyson stood up from her perch on the bench at the entrance of the gardens. It was chilly out today - not that she was a bit surprised. She had watched the news broadcast earlier in the day, and she knew that it would be cold out. She didn't remotely care. "Brr." Alyson said, faking a shiver as she began out towards the courtyard.. Of course, the only way to get there was through the pool area. By now it was closed and... Well, she couldn't be more relieved. If one of the littler kids jumped into it.. Well, that would suck.

As Alyson entered the courtyard, she noticed two figures. Both by the gates... Yet one was outside of it. The other was Noriko Ashida - Surge - and the last time Alyson had noticed her was only a few seconds, okay, maybe a few minutes, ago.. And then she was just a big blue streak flying across the lawns of the gardens letting out a bit of steam. Though, as Alyson began to ponder whom this stranger was, the gates began to creak open. Perhaps he was a new student.. That wouldn't be as unnerving as something else. Slowly, Alyson walked over to the two as he entered the courtyard.

"Hey Nori," Alyson commented, looking at the other student and then quickly towards the male that just entered the gates, "who's this? A new student?" The brunette inquired, as she scanned his features up and down. The telepath figured, and hoped, that she was right. You never could get too many members of the student body. Okay. You could, but new friends were always fun.. Even if she wasn't the hyper little terror that she was only a few weeks ago. She still liked to make friends. And that was really all that mattered - that she wasn't hated among the populace. Even though peoples' opinions didn't matter a bit.

“Special abilities?” The electrokinetic asked, continuing with a nod. “You’re definitely safe here, bud.” She waved Ridley in so she could close the gate. “Come on in, don’t be shy, we don’t bite.” She moved over to the gate controls to close them up. “Well, some of us bite, but they only do it to the unfriendly types.” She moved over to greet him as the gates closed, then heard her name as none other than Aly son Hart popped in from places unknown. She shot a smile at her and a little wave. She didn’t know her too well, apart from the fact that she’d never heard anything horrible about her. She wasn’t even sure she knew what she could do with that extra special gene of hers. “Oh, howdy Aly!”

Surge replaced her beanie and shifted with her hoodie, straightening it out and then pulling the hood up and over her hat. She pulled the drawstrings tight, so that only her face was exposed to the cold air. It got confusing, being totally zen and then coming out into the cold after a bit of electro-jogging. Genuinely disarming. Turning from Alyson to Ridley, she put her gauntleted hands on her hips. “Well, Ridley, Mr. Summers says to drop you off by his office before I hit my next class, so he can get the paperwork straightened out.” Turning back to Alyson, she smiled. “Alyson Hart, meet Ridley Aran. Ridley Aran,” she continued, switching her gaze again to the new arrival. “, meet Alyson Hart.”

Brown eyes now cast themselves upon the mansion proper. “And our destination is in there, and I’m suddenly really cold. So, uh. Shall we?” She said, starting off down the long driveway towards the school. It was always fun, getting a new student. Seeing what they could do, what they could potentially bring. This guy seemed different. He looked haggard, older than her probably should, and something in his voice seemed distressed and constantly worried. It was a sad fact that a lot of the students here, herself included, were runaways or worse. People cast out from the bonds of the people who were supposed to take care of them or hold them up when they needed it. That was part of the therapeutic nature of The Institute itself, though. Through coming here, she’d found a new family, and new goals to achieve. Perhaps in time, this guy would brighten up, feel better about whatever situation he was in that was clearly dragging down on him.

It was cold, the cool air breezing past them in the wide open courtyard. He thought about pushing more energy through his body, to warm himself up. Of course, his energy didn't provide heat, but instead it would make his body just a little tougher, and a bit more resilient to the cold breeze. Yet, he decided against it, as if he pushed anymore through his form, it would start to show around his body. Of course, as the other girl approached, she quickly caught his eye. Walking up and asking Noriko who he was, a slight smile would peel at the corner of his lips. He was really already liking this place.

As the gate would close, he'd duck around it, Noriko filling him in to the objective they now had, to meet and greet with 'Mr. Summers'. He'd nod, definitely wanting to speak to him, but at the moment was a bit preoccupied. No hand coming forward for a shake or anything of the such, it just wasn't Ridley, but he hadn't been shaken of all civility. Whenever he thought about forgetting such manners, his mind only catch back to the thoughts of his mother, and everything she taught him. "Hi Alyson." It was that exact same thought processed that stopped him checking both of them out, up and down.

Noriko was soon gesturing towards the mansion, in which moment Ridley agreed, feeling that while he had originally been nervous about all of this, he was no excited for his first step into his new home. And as they moved closer to the building, his mind raced. Thoughts pulsing at everything he was leaving behind. He was leaving behind the only family he had known for a while, the only people that cared about him. Yet, with the death of his best friend...he had felt he lost his biggest connection to everything. So as he stepped up the the front door behind the other two, it felt like an imposing fate he knew he was never meant to avoid, but rather take head on.

But he had to break his wondering and depressing thoughts, so he'd question the other two. Looking to Alyson first. "So how long have you two been here?" The questioned aimed at both. Ridley was hardened, had no problem ending a life and was a firm believer in the ideals of 'survival of the fittest', but he knew that it was time to evolve. Hands finding their way into his pockets, attempting to keep warm.

As Surge noticed her, Alyson smiled a bit. "Howdy." She said in reply. She wasn't quite sure why Surge's chosen greeting was generally that, but it was more refreshing than everyone at the school saying something common like 'hi, hey, hello, what's up, or how ya doin'. "Ridley Aran..? I'm gonna go ahead and guess that's a full name." She teased a bit, putting her hand out for a handshake. "I'm Alyson, as Surge here dutifully noted. But call me Aly. Everyone does." Alyson nodded her head reassuringly, then messing with her hat so that it was sitting on her head the way she liked.

Then, Noriko gestured towards the school. Saying that their objective was in there and that Mr Grey-Summers had asked Noriko to bring Ridley to his office to get him all signed up and everything. "Oh, right." Alyson said, quietly. She actually kind of... forgot the fact that the student would need to get all signed up and everything. Class wasn't for about, another forty-five minutes or so. That really didn't matter, though, they still had to go. Tomorrow couldn't come any faster, could it? She didn't really know. Unless she had a repressed power to speed up time. Which she didn't. She didn't, at all.

Though, as the three began to walk towards the foyer door, thoughts began to rush at the telepath. It was in Ridley's voice... Yikes, she really needed to get used to her abilities sooner rather than later. Blinking her eyes a bit, she rubbed them. That had given her a sudden headache, and she couldn't even catch what he was trying to think. That was probably because she distanced herself a bit and the thoughts just.. Stopped. Alyson, instead of being beside Ridley, was now behind Noriko. She was sure neither of them really knew why she moved. She didn't associate with Nori enough for her to know she was a telepath. Then, Ridley spoke up. Alyson blinked a bit and looked at the boy. "Well.. A year and four months now. I think."

"Oh, probably about two years, now...Summer of Oh-Eight, I think?" She said quizzically as they meandered towards the school. This Ridley character seemed withdrawn and forlorn. She got a vibe off of him that said he definitely wasn't a talker. She couldn’t blame him, not right away, anyhow. She’d been a regular downright jerk when she’d first arrived, convinced that she and she alone could help herself. She was glad those isolationist day were over. Her eyes shot back to Alyson, who she only just noticed had taken to walking behind her, instead of to Ridley’s side. Maybe she was getting the same kind of nervous waves off of this guy, too.

As they reached the center of the courtyard, Surge took a detour to the side, hopping into a sitting position on the ledge at the base of the large statue that graced the courtyard’s center. She had about thirty five minutes before she had to book it down to the sub levels for that DR session. She frowned at this. She’d have work after that was over, which was surely to show her how sore she could make herself in one day. The extra weekend classes and training were all for her benefit, though, and the folks over at Harry’s were pretty understanding of her sometime erratic ‘school’ scheduling. She had no doubt she could have taken the day off, but she needed money, especially now that her phone was broken. She had to get that fixed and replace what she’d spent out of her trip’s funding, so it was either work or don’t. Heck, it was only four hours. She’d manage. The tipper’s at the restaurant were pretty generous, anyhow.

Taking the break from moving, she eyed Ridley with an inquisitive look. “So whats your story, man? I mean, you can’t be as mysterious as you’re acting.” She looked genuinely interested. Her feet swung out and back against the stone of the big piece of stonework. A breeze blew and she shivered a bit, crossing her arms and huddling into her autumnwear to escape the cold.

So the girls had been here just about the same amount of time. Interesting to say the least, but it told him that this place was obviously as good as Cyclops had made it out to be, if people were staying here so long. Then, Noriko stopped walking, taking a moment to lean up against the fountain and speaking to Ridley, he listened. It was then that she questioned him, and what his story was. It was at this question that he hesitated at for a moment, his mind wandering off for that briefest of instants.

His mind would fill with images, one tracing all the way back to the surfacing of his abilities, to the attack on New York from the horsemen. They'd come rushing back to him for a second, like the flashing lights of cameras upon a pop singer on the red carpet. There was always on prominent theme in these images though, death. His eyes had looked down for the moment, yet they immediately came back up. Eyes locking with Alyson at first but then moving to Noriko. "Nothing special, just ya know...the normal stuff." A fake smile gracing the corner of his lips as he looked to both of them again. "Nothing special to tell." Of course, that was a lie. Little did he know, there was a telepath within a few feet, and Ridley knew nothing of 'blocking off' his mind, or being quiet with his thoughts.

He didn't know what to say to be truthful at this point, she had questioned him on the one thing that he was weak with, just another item on the list of things he got defensive about. So when she asked, his immediate response was to deflect and so came the deflection. "What are you able to do?" He said as he asked Alyson directly. He had seen for a moment the blue haired girl was capable of something related to electricity, but then again...he wasn't safe assuming.

He was trying to be friendly, and wanted to be accepted here, but wasn't sure how to avoid his past, and avoid what it came with.

Alyson didn't know that Surge had been there a year before she was, but that was actually a bit of relief. She knew that, if all and all was put to the test, she was one of the newer students, having joined shortly before the Apocalypse. Alyson blinked her blue hues as his eyes locked, albeit temporarily, with hers. There was something about this kid.. Something she couldn't place. But that wasn't really important right now. Alyson jumped up, levitating a bit as she perched herself on top of the fountain. It was a very good thing that it wasn't on right now.

"Hmm." Alyson let out shortly after he commented that his story was 'nothing special'. "You sure about that, bud?" She inquired; she wasn't entirely sure he was telling the truth but she wouldn't pry on that. A bit of psychic residue said otherwise, but other than that, she had no leads. Just a feeling that there was more to tell about him than he let on. A lot more. The teenagers eyes gazed down at him, he was standing in front of Noriko who was a little bit in front, and below her, as she sat on the fountain as well. "Um, well."

Alyson began to reply to Ridley, but stopped as she began to jump from the fountain. "I'm a psychic goddess." She said, posing a bit. She was, of course, joking. But there was no way to tell if they'd understand that they would know it. She sighed a bit and blinked her eyes. "Okay. Truthfully, I'm just a telekinetic. With telepathic powers too." Alyson said, eying Noriko, and then Ridley. She grinned a bit and countered his question, "So what are your special abilities, Mister Aran?" She asked. She was genuinely curious... He asked hers, so she would ask his. Even if he protested.

'Nothing special?', thought Surge to herself. ’I call that bluff, but I guess I shouldn’t press.’ Everything this guy did pointed to something shadowy. Whether that something was in his past or dwelling in his present thoughts, she got some weird vibes off him. Hopping down from the fountain and looking between the two of them, she smiled, she wasn’t sure if Ridley had asked both of them about their powers, but she was about to fill him in anyways. “I’m like electricity vacuum. If I’m around electricity, my body draws it in. These things help me slow that down and store it, errh, store it off site, so I don’t get crazy loopy so quick.” She made a motion as if to touch her fingers to her thumbs on each hand, only instead of actually doing so, she let tiny buzzing arcs of electric energy bridge the gaps.

“So basically I’m a human battery. I can shoot the stuff back out, though, like a power surge.” Noriko was getting chilly, and it seemed to be getting cooler by the second. Running around at a hundred or so miles an hour did wonders to make you forget the chilly weather. Standing around definitely did not. She motioned to the school. “We should get going in there soon,” she hinted. “I got Danger Room in a little bit and I gotta get into my training duds.” She cast a glance at Alyson, who had joined her up on the fountain before she’d popped back down. Always moving, that’s how it kind of had to be with Surge. She rarely sat or stood or laid in one spot for very long.

“But yeah, Ridley. What mojo do you work with?” This was her favorite part at the Institute. The X-Gene manifested in infinite, myriad ways it seemed. It was always interesting to see what sort of tricks genetics could pull off next.

Ridley seemed to be turning them off from his arrival here, with his shady answers. He wasn't going to tell them who he was in the first five minutes of knowing them. Especially when it wasn't bubblegum and taffy. Yet, part of him couldn't help but realize maybe it was time he start letting people in, becoming one of the crowd. The one girl, Alyson questioned if he was sure about his statement, doubting what he had to say. Part of him wanted to snap back, his automatic defensive mode ready to set in...but he was able to hold it back, instead looking to her, a smirk crossing over the side of his mouth. "Yeah...I'm sure." Not sarcasm, but rather a sense of play.

And then, they went on to describe their powers. The girl dropping down and talking about her being a goddess. Something that at first, sparked his attention. Ridley was attracted to power, yet coveted at the same time. Something that harked back to his days on the streets, where having power over people...and having power over turf was what made you boss, was what showed your dominance.

Yet, it didn't take long for Ridley to put two and two together, to make four. And that four was, this girl had been doubting him, almost calling him out on his statement and now he was finding out she was a telepath. Ridley almost instinctively took a step back when he heard that, but his outward facial features remained the same. She was a telepath, and Ridley felt that their abilities were quite intrusive, and 'cheap' in a sense. Ridley loved a good fight, and felt they broke all the rules by getting inside your mind.

Then Noriko described her powers, and he looked at her fingers, watching the spark grow between them. Once again, a girl who held quite a bit of power in the palm of her hand, yet another attractive feature. "A Psychic Goddess? A Human battery?" He said, with a slight chuckle. "Impressive."

But, he figured it was his time to show his abilities off. Right hand held out in front of him, as a small ball of yellow energy would gather in his palm. It would float just an inch off the palm of his hand and it would glow brightly. Arm held straight out as the ball of energy would begin to dance it's way around his fingers in and out, over and under his hand and then finally, would shoot into the air in front of the two girls...floating there as if tempting them to touch it. But before they would be able to, it would disappearing, the golf-ball sized orb of energy seemingly dissipating into extremely smaller tiny particles...until it disappeared from what the human eye could see.

"I can use energy...for a lot of different things," he would explain in the most basic form. He looked to them, his ego and pride hoping his tiny show would garner a reaction from them, yet he figured they wouldn't reveal one.

And then, he agreed about the getting inside thing, as he motioned towards the front door.

Alyson looked towards Surge as she explained what her powers were. Truth be told, despite having been in maybe one or two classes with her, Alyson had no idea what Surge’s power was. She knew it was something to do with electricity, but otherwise, she was clueless. The idea that she was basically a vacuum of all electricity, honestly, frightened the telekinetic. There was no telling what her potential was.. She could probably suck up the entire worlds electricity supplies, which would either end up in her gloves exploding, or if it were down the line, her turning into some sort of electric source of energy. Either way… “…Wow.”

Alyson was actually surprised that she was that powerful. It wasn’t like Elixir’s power though.. He was probably uber strong, hell, he could give anyone a disease with a touch -- or worse. Either way, that was kind of scary. He could just make you drop dead by poking you if she so wanted. She had heard, though, that there was time when as opposed to black, he was gold. And had quite the opposite power. She wondered what he was like then, if it caused him to act different. Well, best not to dwell on that subject for too long. She’d likely never find out.

Shortly after, though, Ridley displayed his own abilities. Alyson blinked and slowly nodded her head. “That’s pretty cool.” She said, smiling gently. Though, again shortly after, Surge motioned towards the inside of the mansion, saying that they should get going. Alyson nodded her head. “…Right, that’s a good idea.” She chuckled to herself an quickly ran up the court yard, and into the mansion foyer, looking back at the two. “..Come on, slow pokes!”

She maintained a awkward grin as Alyson ran up the steps, despite being slightly wierded out by this kid. ’A goddess? Really? Creeper.’ She folded her gloved hands and walked up the stairs to join her classmate. “Glad we live up to your standards.” Retorted the electrokinetic in a wry tone, her words betraying the slightly forced smile. It was what it was, compliment or not, she thought it was kinda maybe a little creepy. This kid seemed off-putting and more than just a little cocky. Reminded her of herself when she’d first got here. He just needed time to open up, make a few friends, get settled in.

“I’ve got to get going soon, so we should hurry up to Mr. Summer’s office. He’ll get you set up and probably give you a walk-around of the school.” She moved to the door and held it open, taking a melodramatic bow and waving them in with her free arm. “Lady and Gentleman…” She began with a smile, this time genuine as she felt the heating escape the mansion’s interior. “…I give you Xavier’s Institute for Gifted Children.” She stepped inside after them and took down her hood, slipping off her beanie and shoving it into her pocket. She rubbed her hands over her arms while shaking off the shivers of the rapid temperature change, welcoming the warmth. The school wasn’t terribly busy, but some between-class traffic was to be seen. “Hey Carl! Do me a favor and tell teach I might be a lil late!” She made the mental note to get a pass from Cyclops when she dropped off Ridley.

“Uh, Headmaster’s office is this way.” She motioned through the students to the right-hand hallway.
