July 8th Late Evening __________________ "That game was awesome wasn't it Bobby?" Robert asked his cyrokenetic teammate with a smirk. Robert was overjoyed at the fact that he had managed not only to get Bobby, but Kitty to go out and watch a baseball game with him. Of course he neglected to tell them that he didn't know anything about baseball, and really only invited them out so he could have some people to hang out with. He didn't even really understand what had happened...who'd won, anything Robert was from Brazil and baseball was not nearly as popular there as it was in New York. Robert was more of a soccer players in simpler times back before his X-Men days he was actually the star player of his private school back in Brazil, an amazing feat considering the school offered scholarships to truly skilled players resulting in Robert pretty much being the only player on the team who's family had actually paid to attend the luxurious private school. Unlike most of the players on his soccer team who were so good at the sport that they were offered full scholarships to attend. Despite this...he was still the star player on the team. "That one touch down...amazing." Robert said with a straight face, having absolutely no idea that touchdowns were in football...not baseball. "Wasn't it Kitty?" Robert said smiling from ear to ear like the goofball that he was. Robert reached into his left over popcorn and took a small handful and popping it into his mouth. The only thing Robert actually knew about the game was that it had the most expensive tickets...it was from that fact alone that Robert figured it was the best baseball game to attend. "Yup, this was a truly amazing experience I feel we've truly bonded, as both friends and teammates because of this game which I paid for us to attend...in box seats." Robert said sarcastically implying that they should thank him despite the fact that he had practically begged them to come with him in the first place. "Uh, so what do you guys want to do now?" Robert asked simply once again dipping into his left ever popcorn. "The night is still young!" Robert said with a smile. |

The Met game was over and no one was more physic'd about what they just saw then the Brazilian playboy Roberto De Costa even if he wasn't entirely sure what he just saw. But none the less as they trio walked out of the stadium Roberto still giddy with excitement kept asking how much fun it was how awesome it was and how amazing that one touch down was. Kitty didn't want to burst Roberto's bubble and tell him there were no touch downs only runs and home runs. But she let him have his fun as she kept semi-quite on the way to the exit. “Oh Yea, that Touch down was pretty cool” Kitty said in response to Roberto's question as she gave a coy smile over to Bobby. While Roberto continued to say what a great time he had and how he felt as if the trip bonded and became closer making sure to mention he picked up the tab for the whole event. “Yes, it was very generous of you Robby. Thank you very much.” Kitty said while giving a bright smile to Roberto as she then asked what else they wanted to do for the rest of the night. “Uh, well don't forget we still have a long trip back to West Chester” Kitty added as she looked over to Bobby to see how he felt about the subject. Of course they could always stop for a quick bite to eat before venturing back home to the mansion, But Kitty thought Roberto was looking for more then just a quick dinner. At least with Roberto's reputation he was known for hanging out at all hours of the night and Kitty was by no means a night owl like him. |

“Yea! Awesome game, next time dude, we go near the bull pit though, that glass case stuff was nice but I need to catch me a homer!” The Met’s game was amazing, to Bobby Drake. The Mets were his team after all, and when his team won, well, who wouldn’t be psyched? The iced mutant gave Robbie a pat on the back when he talked about the box seats, “Ah Robbie, no need to sell yourself man, we still like ya.” Robbie talked about the night still being young, and as Kitty spoke that they still had to get back to West Chester he noted her look to him. “Yea Sunny, unless you wanna take me dancin I vote for grabbing some grub and headin back home. I think I may even know a short cut. I remember our route like the back of my hand.” Bobby looked over to Kitty and quickly picked her up. Holding her in his arms he stated, in what he dubbed as the ‘Prince Charming voice’, and said, “Now m’lady. This be the way to the mansion of the exed men.” The ‘exed men’ being the X-Men of course as he started walking to the shortcut he intended to lead them. He hiked his head at Robbie to get him to follow the two. Although technically they’d both be following her, as Bobby was still holding Kitty. Still, Bobby couldn’t help but smirk to wondering how Hartley would take to being picked up. He had to do a double take and thought how random it was to think about that. Maybe he’d give her a call tomorrow or something. The icy mutant did a mental head shake and said, “Onward!” |

"Um, sure thing Bobby." Robert replied despite not really knowing what the 'bull pit' was much less where it was at. He'd figured the box seats were the best ones due to how much money they cost, but he did agree that it would be pretty hard to catch a home run inside of the glass box they were sitting in. Robert smiled when Bobby's patted him on the back, and thanked him for inviting them to the game. The smile quickly turned into a disappointed frown when both of them stated they weren't in the mood to have an amazing night on the town with him. "Ah, you two are such party poopers." Robert said they were both right in assuming that Robert had wanted to hang out with them well into the night, but it seemed that they were both pretty much content with just grabbing a bite to eat, and then going back to the mansion. Robert laughed when Bobby put on his prince charming voice, and picked up Kitty, and put on his ridiculous prince charming voice. He claimed he knew a shortcut, and Robert was inclined to believe him he probably knew the city better than he did. Robert simply nodded before following him into the alleyway...letting out a small chuckle as he carried Kitty, and led the way. As they walked Robert began to hear…some weird noises up ahead. Like people talking, he couldn’t make out what they were saying, but he could just tell by the tone of their voices that they were not talking about sunshine, and kittens. “Sh!” Robert told Bobby, and Kitty to be quiet in hopes of allowing himself to make out exactly what the voices were up ahead. “You guys hear that?” Robert asked as he continued to walk forward, albeit more cautiously. As he approached Robert could make out figures deeper into the alleyway, and they didn’t look very friendly. Robert didn’t know what they were doing, but it didn’t take a genius to know that whatever it was….it wasn’t good. From the sound of it they were talking about weapons…or something along those lines. Robert looked at Bobby and Kitty before shooting them a raised brow before trying his best to continue forward. Wanting to find out more of what was going on, part of him thought he shouldn't get involved as it wasn't his business, and he'd had more than his fair share of troubles in recent days. But he just couldn't resist he had to know what was going on. |

Robert was still reveling in the fact he had an awesome time at the game and wanted to continue the night. But Bobby did more or less side with Kitty on a speedy return to the mansion. Which seemed to upset Robert a little bit. However it was then Bobby quickly grabbed Kitty and scooped her up and put on his best prince charming impression as he began to carry Kitty down the streets of New York claiming to know a short cut. As Kitty looked over Bobby's shoulder to Robert and added “Oh no! Not another famous Drake short cut!” As the trio continued to laugh and joke while Bobby carried Kitty, Out of the blue Robert yelled out for them to be quiet. And asked if they had heard what he did. As Kitty then muttered softly. “Put me down Bobby...” With Kitty back down on two feet. “Maybe we shouldn't get involved guys, It's probably just some drug deal, or selling illegal weapons or something going on in a back alley of New York City... It happens in the movies all the time right. Lets just find a different way past.” Kitty said as the voices seemed to get louder and more angry. “I mean its probably not any kind of X-Men related actives we need to get involved with anyway. Right” Kitty asked again looking to Bobby for him to agree with her assessment once again as it was becoming more and more obvious whatever was going on a few yards in front of them in the alley in the dark of night was not good a good situation for them to be in right now. |

Robbie's bummed mood about not staying out all night was defiantly noted. While still holding kitty Bobby nudged an elbow towards him and said, "Aw come on man, don't get bummed. Me and Kitty here are just an old couple, can't stay out past our bedtimes." He gave a playful wink to Robbie and prepared to be smacked by Kitty for his comment. A playful little swat to the shoulder, he'd bet five bucks on it. Kitty commented on his short cut and the iced mutant responded with, "Aww, that hurts, I know this town like the back of my hand. Minus that one time where I didn't know about that black spot in class... that turned out to be a pen smudge." Suddenly Robbie told the both of them to be quiet. As Kitty told Bobby to put her down he did and listened to what Robbie was hearing. The iced mutant couldn't fully tell what was being discussed and Roberto didn't have to do any sort of convincing. But as Kitty was saying that they should go he inched forward whispering to the both of them, "She's totally right, we should go. We should just walk away-" Then he paused for the briefest of moments, "Then again... if it's something bad and we did nothing... That wouldn't be very hero-like." Looking back he said quietly, "We should at least hear what they're talking about. If it gets too hot to handle we'll bolt but that little voice in your head that's says 'turn back and hit the road jack'? Yea mine's saying 'jump froggy jump'." It sounded like a serious conversation, and Bobby just couldn't let it go. Not just a sweep of curiosity, but something in his gut that twisted at the thought of leaving, something that made his legs refuse to turn back. |

"Yes, you two are lame I've made that mental note, I'll make sure to invite fun people out on the town with me next time." Robert said already contemplating getting out his phone to text some more fun individuals to spend the evening with. "I'm totally going to call up the human torch or something...I hear he knows how to have a good time!" Robert said half joking he didn't really know Johnny Storm of the fantastic four that well..despite the fact that he was constantly compared to him for whatever reason. Robert said as he slowly approached the noise he heard...Bobby seemed to feel the same way he did about investigating the noise even going as far as saying that not checking it out wouldn't have been very super hero like. "Yup, not hero like at all." He commented agreeing with Bobby, and sticking up tongue out at Kitty who'd thought that being nosy was possibly not the greatest idea. As Robert got closer he started to see two groups of people...one group was handing the other group a briefcase. Robert wasn't really sure what was in the brief case, but he had enough to sense to know that whatever it was it wasn't anything good seeing as they were being all sneaky, and doing the exchange in a dark sketchy alleyway at night. "I think I seen that guy in the Daily Bugle a few times!" Robert not so quietly whispered to Bobby, and Kitty as he motioned towards the gangster who seemed to be orchestrating the deal. Robert couldn't remember the guy's name, but he knew that it had something to do with Tombstones or something like that. Robert looked over at Bobby and Kitty, flashing them both the 'what should we do?' look. Unfortunately, when Robert turned his head to look back to see what was going on he found he bumped the dumpster he was sort of hiding behind which made a noise just loud enough for the group of people to hear him. "Damn it!" Robert said before he heard one of the men call out to see who was there...followed by the cocking of multiple fire arms. "Uh oh." Robert said with a nervous gulp. |

With Kitty's feet planted back on the ground Bobby in his speech agreed with Kitty's assessment of minding their own business. But the curiosity in his voice said he was ready for action. As Bobby then insisted they just find out a little more about what was going on. As Kitty stepped behind Bobby tugging on his shirt, But Bobby seemed determined to figure out what was going on and Kitty knew there would be no changing his mind now. And began mentally preparing herself for some shenanigans to ensue. While Robert tried to get a closer look at the goings on and noted he saw one of those people involved in the situation in the daily bugle a few times. “Oh that's reassuring” Kitty added sarcastically But as Robert was still considering the options on joining in on the meeting the decision was quickly made for all three of them as Robert inadvertently bumped into a dumpster in the alley and cried out, which caught the attention of the men up in the alley. Kitty cringed a little as Robert muttered uh oh. While the loudest voice in the alley then yelled out to them. “WHO THE HELLS THERE!” The man then started walking towards the trio as Kitty then stepped out from behind Bobby instead standing next to him as she turned her head to both Bobby and Robert and once again added. “Well, I guess thats our cue.” As Kitty began rolling up her sleeves, things were about to get interesting as the man was closing in with his gun gleaming off the reflected light in the alley. “You kids picked the party to crash tonight.” The man added in his most menacing tone. As he closed in on the trio he gave a devilish grin while he other Hench men stayed a few paces back. Kitty then locked arms with Bobby for the moment just in case the man decided to pull the gun on them. “Robert, Stay close” Kitty said in her lowest voice hoping he could hear her over the man yelling. As she then nudged Bobby. “Is this when we say a cool catch phrase or something like, Uh, Avengers Assemble? To throw him off? or do you have a better idea” Kitty mentioned nervously. |

The three inched forward to a good hiding spot. Bobby felt Kitty tug at him, and as he watched and listened to the conversation he could have sworn he heard the word 'guns'. Then Roberto blew their cover and knocked over a dumpster, then shouted. When the bad guys looked over the iced mutant gave a narrowing look at him and said, "Really, Robbie? Really?" The three got out from their hiding spot and Kitty wrapped her arm around him. He quirked his brow and looked at her. "Kitten..." Shaking his head with a tone of fake dissapointment he continued, "Cool catch phrase is correct. But Avenger's Assemble? That sounds like some cartoon catch phrase. I'd think you'd know better by now the catch phrase would be more like..." He grabbed her arm to have her bring it to her side for a moment and said as he changed to his ice form, "The Iceman cometh. And with backup." He held out his arm and said, "You can keep holdin on Kit-Kat. I just didn't wanna give ya hypothermia." The Iceman winked at her with his frozen eyes. One of the thugs shouted, "Enough of this! Shoot em!" Three of the eight men in the alley raised their guns and were fixing to fire. They were only slightly outnumber, for now. Hopefully it'd stay that way. "And for the plan... Stay alive and stop the baddies." Bobby reached his hand out to try and freeze the guns. |

Robert felt like an idiot for bumping the dumpster, but it'd already happened so he figured he might as well just roll with it. He looked over to Bobby who was already cracking jokes and taking on his ice form. "Yeah, we're much cooler than the avengers." Robert said before following Bobby's lead and taking on his solar form. Seeing Kitty grab Bobby's hand made Robert frown a bit. "So, I guess it's okay if they shoot me, as long as Bobby's safe." Robert said utilizing his unique brand of humor. Robert's icy teammate then made a move to freeze their adversaries guns. Robert quickly followed suit be shooting a plasma blasts at their feet in hopes of blowing them back. The sun wasn't out, and because of that Robert knew he had to be particularly careful with his energy out put. The last thing he needed was to burn himself out in a situation like the one him, and his friend found themselves in. It was a tricky situation Robert didn't even know what was going on. The only thing he could string together about the situation was that apparently they had walked in on something they shouldn't have, and now they had guns pointed at them. The situation seemed simple enough, but Robert had been through more than enough crazy escapades to know that a lot of things weren't always what they seemed. Robert quickly moved over to Kitty, and Bobby hoping to have a second to talk to them before all the gunmen had a chance to gather themselves. "So, uhhh what's the game plan?" Robert asked he wasn't really field leader material, and was much more accustomed to following orders rather than giving them. |

Bobby quipped up with his own version of a cool catch phrase, As Robert echoed Bobby's sentiment that they were much cooler than the Avengers. But soon after the catch phrase dilemma was settled. As Robert noticed Kitty grabbed a hold of Bobby while he started going into his ice form. Robert noted that it was fine if he got shot so long as Bobby was safe. To which Kitty quickly replied back. “I told you to stay close... But you're being mister kicking dumpsters alerting the guys with guns to kill us.” Kitty then shook her head quickly and added. “Why are we bickering? We're all gonna die.” “Their fucking Muties! Boss” One of the gun men yelled back to the man in the back who was obviously in charge of the group of thugs. As Bobby made the move to sent out some ice to freeze over their guns. As Robert joined along by shooting his plasma at the men's feet causing them to jump back. As the men regrouped over the unexpected attack. Robert asked what the plan was. “Uh... Bobby says its a two part plan... Phase 1, stay alive... Phase 2, Stop the bad guys." “Quit screwin around! Fuckin kill them!” The man in charge yelled from down the alley. As the other men scrambled back to their feet. While the leader barking orders began walking closer towards the fight. While one of the men pulled a large throwing knife out of a sheath on his belt and threw it with full force towards the head of Kitty. As she saw it coming she went into her phase mode and the knife passed right through her head. “Boss! These kids are fucked up!” As all the men were back on their feet staring down, the X-Men the boss man walked right through the men pushing them aside and stepping out in front of them. The man who walked out into the front was a large man standing 6'7 and looked to have very tough skin as he cracked his knuckles looking back at the three X-Men with a large smile on his face. “Well, Well, Well... What seems to be the problem with these little kiddies here?” Tombstone gave a chuckle as he eyed up his competition exposing his large white teeth which have seemingly been filed down to very sharp points. “If you want something done right. You gotta do it yourself.” Tombstone spoke the ominous words, As he prepared for his next move. |

JP Between Kitty and Bobby, The better Dynamic Duo! Robbie made a comment about him getting shot and Kitty retaliated. Bobby looked over to Sunspot and said, “It’s cause she loves me more.” He smiled and winked. He then asked about the plan. Thank God for Kitty, who retold him the plan. As the attacks commenced the Iceman and Sunspot taking care of the bad guys, Shadowcat doing what she did best and having to listen to the racial slurs. “We’re fucked? That’s a bit backwards.” Just then the big boss man stepped through. Big, mean looking, sharp teeth, and very very VERY white. Like whiter than white. Bobby couldn’t help but have his mouth drop, a little. He leaned over to Kitty and whispered, “Dude… what the hell..?“ Kitty's eyes grew wide as the large man menaced over them and it didn't help calm her fears when Bobby whispered over to her. If Bobby was scared that definitely meant Kitty needed to be scared as well as she replied quietly “Umm, I think phase 1 of your plan... Might be a problem at this point.” Kitty squeezed Bobby a little tighter at this point. “You think... If Robert did riot control with the others... you could freeze... Big bad guy here?” Kitty again asked in a whispered voice nearly shaking as the man pondered over his next move with the X-Men. Then adding before Bobby committed to answering. “I got your back.” She was scared. And yea he was freaked a bit. A lot. Umm… okay he was scared. “I’m actually thinkin of a new plan. I’m not Scotty, but um… Sunspot should handle the peons, I’ll handle the big guy, and you… yea go get help. I’ll settle for Captain America, but if need be callin Scott would do nicely.” Bobby placed his free hand on Kitty’s arm. Leaning his head over to Robbie he whispered, “Robbie, on my mark you take care of the small time thugs, Kitty’s gonna make a run for it, and I’m gonna handle the big guy.” He paused and took his tone a little louder for the both of them to hear. “Ready?” He took Kitty’s arm and made her let go of him. Suddenly he shouted, “Now!” The situation wasn't getting any better. And Bobby quickly changed up the game plan. As he told Kitty to make a run for it and get help. While he and Sunspot took care of the thugs and Mister Big Bad Baddy. At first Kitty didn't question Bobby's orders as she got on her mark and waited for Bobby's signal to take off in the opposite direction of the fight. As Bobby yelled 'Now!' Kitty took off running and as soon as she made it out to the edge of the sidewalk she stopped to turn back to the fight and said loudly to herself. “What am I doing?... Like I am gonna find Iron Man just walking down the street or something and say Oh hey Tony... we got a little problem on our hands mind helpin us out with this... No! As if.” As Kitty turned back around to run back into the fray. She figured at the very least she could help contain the thugs by showing off some of her bad ass fighting skills and hopefully finding something to bind their hands together with. Kitty ran off, like she was supposed to, like Bobby wanted her to. He only knew because he didn’t see her as he lunged forward towards the Big Bad. Rearing up his fist to punch sock the guy in the face. Until the Big guy grabbed his fist, not even visually affected by the cold. ”Hmm… stupid punk kid!” He shouted as he threw Bobby, by the fist, to the ally wall. “Uff!!” Bobby landed with a thug and some chunks of ice had chipped off from his body. He got to his feet and readied his fist to fight. The big guy laughed and spoke, ”You think you can take me boy? I’m three times bigger, and stronger. You don’t fuck with Tombstone’s shit and not expect to get punished.” Bobby paused for a moment and spoke, “Well Tombstone… I’m Iceman. I think you need to seriously chill!” The iced mutant shot out ice to try and freeze Tombstone’s legs solid. That is until Tombstone moved, quickly, and smashed his fist into Bobby’s chest. More chunks of ice fell from him as he recoiled back and put his frozen hand on his chest. Damn… this guy’s good… I seriously hope Kitty got help. He now stood face to face with Tombstone. |

Robert cocked a brow at Kitty's so called plan, but finding himself unable to come up with a better idea he decided to just go with the flow. That was until the boss of the operation decided to make himself known stepping from behind his men a very tall, muscular, and extremely pale man made his presence known. "Someone definitely had their Wheaties this morning." Robert said with a gulp the man's teeth is what really got him though they were sharp, like really sharp. For a few seconds Robert just kind of stood there not sure of what to do. That was until Bobby leaned over and whispered in his ear to go after the peons, on his mark. One of the men tried to throw a knife at Kitty, it went right through her...man these guys meant business! Robert simply nodded when Bobby whispered to him, and before he knew it Bobby was giving the go ahead. Robert flew right at three of the gunmen he pushed the one in the middle and sent him hurling through the air like a rag-doll before quickly smacking the other two away as if they were flies. That was easy enough, Robert then turned his attention over to Bobby to see if he was doing as good. He frowned however when he saw Tombstone punch him in the chest before Bobby could even freeze him. Robert didn't know much about this Tombstone character, he didn't know exactly strong he was, or how much punishment he could take. But he did know he did not like people beating up on his friends. Not wanting to completely take his attention off of the henchmen Robert quickly charged up a pretty good sized plasma blast, and fired it at Tombstone. In hopes of knocking him off balance just long enough for Iceman to regather his bearings, and really put the pale Gargoyle on ice. |
