UNIFORM: In a situation where he expects combat, Exodus will wear an all black uniform with royal purple trim. Similar to Magneto's, Exodus also wears a black cape with purple trim. There is nothing especially fancy about the uniform, however, because he relies on his mutant abilities instead of his clothing for defense and offense.

POWERS

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Telepathy:

Exodus has the ability to communicate and influence other people's mind with his own. While he is not the most gifted telepath, he is capable of effecting those that are weak minded around him in a variety of ways. He is able to change their thought patterns in order to set their will to agree with his own, induce sleep or other physical actions that are accessed through the mind, and project an attack into their mind in order to distract or disorient.

He is also capable of projecting his thoughts into another person's mind, speaking with those around him by forcing himself into their mind, or by establishing a link. An established link is, of course, stronger and capable of being used over a longer distance. For instance, he would have to force his words into a random person's mind to speak to them, but if he were with trusted Brotherhood members, they could establish a link and communicate to Exodus back and forth in that way.

When faced against another telepath or someone who is trained to resist a telepath, Exodus would do be able to do little offensively against them. Forcing himself into a person's mind is not something he would do without caution, because when a pathway is opened between the two minds, it becomes a road that both parties could travel upon. If he were to attack a stronger telepath, the opposing telepath would most likely use the link between them to dominate the situation. For this reason, he would use his ability in a defensive way in the hopes of being able to dominate the other party in a physical way.

Exodus is in no way comparable to Professor Xavier, Jean Grey, Betsy Braddock, or others of similar telepathy level. Anything he attempts through telepathy, besides a simple communication, is done with effort and has the potential to cause fatigue.

Telekinesis:

Paris is an extremely talented mutant in the art of telekinesis. With this ability, he is capable of lifting extremely heavy objects or numerous objects at once, flight, forming protective shields, and forming telekinetic blasts.

Lifting: Exodus is capable of lifting many lighter objects or one extremely heavy object. He can use this power in an offensive and defensive way by manipulating (ie, bending or distorting), throwing, or moving things as he desires. In all, Exodus is able to telekinetically lift around 100 tons or perhaps a bit more with a large amount of effort.

Flight: Through telekinesis, Exodus is able to lift himself and others off of the ground and fly. When lifting himself and others, he is not capable of surpassing the human threshold of unaided flight. This allows him to travel at a speed of around 300 miles an hour and he is not capable of going higher than 8000 feet. When flying with others, he has to take into account their own thresholds, which may be higher or lower than his own.

Highly durable force fields: Forming a circular telekinetic barrier around himself, Exodus is capable of surviving superhuman attacks. The strength of his shields are comparable to his telekinetic strength and the state of his mind. Due to the shape and curvature of his shields, he is capable of deflecting attacks that would surpass 100 tons of force. For instance, a punch from Colossus that glanced off his shields. But if the attack were to hit him straight on, he is able to withstand his own telekinetic strength limit which is around 100 tons. For instance, a straight on punch from Colossus would most likely be able to shatter the barrier.

These fields are capable of absorbing or deflecting all forms of physical attack up to his own threshold. The shield is colorless and invisible until struck by a substantial force, in which case they will expose themselves by showing off a glowing orange color. They are susceptible to telekinetic attacks above his own threshold, physical attacks above his telekinetic strength level, or matter that is more dense than his shield is capable of deflecting. For example, adamantium.

Telekinetic blasts: Exodus is also capable of extending his telekinetic attacks into an orange hued power blast. This blast is concussive in nature and carries no heat or other influences behind it. They are capable of packing a punch behind them that is indicative of his telekinetic strength, which is around 100 tons. These blasts are focused and aimed from his hands.

His blasts are limited in distance of around two hundred yards (around 183 meters) from him. Each yard traveled, they lose their potency at about two tons of force per yard until they dissipate. They are shot at the speed of about 1100 feet per second. In comparison, a normal bullet from a handgun is shot at about 1100 feet per second while high caliber rifle bullets can travel at around 4000 feet per second. Just as with a bullet, the closer to Exodus the target is when struck with the blast, the more effective it is in terms of damage.

Note: Exodus does not have the ability to absorb life force, teleport, mass mind control, or other abilities that he is capable of in Marvel canon.

WEAKNESS:

Telepathy/Mind: Exodus is a telepath, but his power level is not as high as some other mutants. With effort, other telepaths would be able to defeat his defenses and defeat him in that regard. His mind is also unstable, which could make him prone to anything from mistakes to downright insane maneuvers. This instability would also play a factor when another telepath enters his mind.

Death: Exodus is not immortal. If his abilities are defeated or he is caught off guard, he could die just as a normal human.

Shields: While his telekinetic shields are quite powerful, they are not impervious to extreme temperatures and airborne attacks, such as poison gas. His shields, as all of his abilities, are also effected by his state of mind. If he becomes flustered or confused, his shields could lose some of their strength.

PERSONALITY

Exodus is a mutant that is hell bent on destroying humanity in order to elevate mutants to their deserved status, which he feels that he was born and bred to do. His personality has developed in this way due to the influences of his father, Enzo, and the long period of time that he was incarcerated in a Russian prison without much human contact. His mind revolves around his service to Magneto, furthering himself, and exacting revenge upon humanity for the death of his wife and father.

Other characteristics of his personality include impulsiveness, lack of shame, lack of empathy, and a lack of remorse. He is not very tactful when speaking to others and will often be very blunt, despite the consequences. He is also insensitive, disregarding other's feelings when speaking or feeling nothing if he were to kill a child's parents in front of their eyes. Whatever furthers his cause or leads to success for him, he will do without a second thought.

In the ways described above, he easily fits the description of a psychopath. One definition of psychopathy describes it as, “Psychopaths cannot be understood in terms of antisocial rearing or development. They are simply morally depraved individuals who represent the "monsters" in our society. They are unstoppable and untreatable predators whose violence is planned, purposeful and emotionless.” The term perfectly describes some of his more endearing traits.

Despite his many tendencies and characteristics, Paris is not completely lost. He still has fond memories of his mother, his time with Coralie, and seeing the excitement in his father's eyes when he was found to be a mutant. These memories seem like dreams that are not attached to reality, because they were long ago and he has endured very stressful situations since they occurred. Much like in his prison cell, his memories speak to him, but he thinks of them as only that... dreams.

HISTORY: PRE-APOCALYPSE

Raised as an only child to Enzo and Adrienne Bennett, Paris grew up as any normal French child was. His father was away on business for most of his young life, leaving him to be raised by his mother and her family. There was nothing remarkable to speak of, except that he was obsessed with the tales of the crusades, knights and swordplay as a youth.

It was not until he was twelve that he learned the secretive business that his father was in. When his father was home one afternoon when Paris was fifteen, a Soviet assassin entered their home and attempted to kill his father. His father revealed a secret that he had been hiding for some time, that he was a mutant, by fending off the assassin with the ability of telekinesis. Paris' mother was ashamed that she never knew Enzo's mutation and immediately left her husband, moving in with her mother.

After dealing with a divorce and the public exposure that his father was a mutant, Paris began to be teased at his school about it. It was nothing major at first, but since Paris did not put up a fight, the teasing quickly became bullying. When he was fifteen years old, his own mutation finally sprouted when he defended himself from two bullies that were attempting to beat him up. The fact that Paris was a mutant as well did not sit well with his mother and eventually Enzo found out about his son.

Enzo informed Paris about the gifts that he had been blessed with and told him that they were a gift from God. He went on, filling his sons head with stories of his groups accomplishments. In reality, Enzo was the leader of a terrorist mutant group known as “Crusaders,” who believed that their abilities were from God and that they were sent to punish those that were deemed wicked. Enzo tutored his son in the ability of telekinesis, since he was a user himself, and quickly found out that Paris' ability had the potential to exceed his own.

In 1991 when Paris turned seventeen, he left his mother and went to follow in his father's footsteps. He quickly found out that the group was similar to the Crusaders that he dreamed about as a boy and often wondered if his father had influenced him to grow so fond of the old stories. He accompanied his father on several missions throughout Europe, Asia, and in the Soviet Union. Their goal was simple: Destroy those who showed discrimination towards mutants, those who openly displayed sinful acts, and those of other religions besides Christianity. The Crusaders were very small, with about ten active members, and their attacks never seemed to gain much attention.

In 1994, when Paris was twenty, he fell in love with an 18 year old recruit of the Crusaders who went by the name of Coralie. She was also French, which was one of the many things that they held in common. Their love for one another was very fast paced and based largely on their shared ideals, and they married after courting for a short period of time. By 1995, Paris and Coralie were married and acted together under Enzo's rule.

In the spring of 1999, a target was set in the city of Omsk, Russia. Several churches there were preaching against mutants and influencing much of the city to be anti-mutant. It was to be one of their largest scale attacks that they had ever planned. Enzo was growing in pride and was beginning to lack tact. Up until this point, they had kept their attacks small enough for a small group to handle, but Enzo wanted more. So with a large head and a lack of common sense, he planned on dismantling the entire infrastructure of Omsk. During the initial phases of planning the attack, the KGB was tipped off by an unknown source, possibly one Enzo's own confidants.

The attack began in August of 2000 by sending two man groups through the city and disrupting the power, transport and communication services. Paris and Coralie were sent to a central hub area where they were to disrupt the tram network that the citizens counted on to move throughout the city. They were successful, destroying it's power supply and man of it's trains. Enzo and the others were not so successful. The KGB sent agents to nullify and kill the terrorists and did so indiscriminately. Enzo did not die in a glorified fashion. Instead, he was gunned down in the streets of Omsk.

Paris and Coralie did not learn of Enzo's demise and continued on to the location that they were supposed to meet, only to be intercepted by highly trained KGB agents. They were taken by surprise, and a standoff took place. Coralie was killed by gunfire and Paris fought against a large group of agents single handedly, killing quite a few before he was finally drawn into a nullification field. Perhaps due to the level of power that he displayed, he was not killed and he was put into prison.

For several years, the KGB and other Soviet groups tortured and attempted to break Paris' will. They wanted to reform him and perhaps brainwash him in order to use him as a mutant soldier within their own military service. They performed many experiments, revealing that he was a telepath in the process, and found that this was why he was so resistant to their mind altering techniques. After years of trying, they moved him to a high security prison and kept him locked away in solitary, hoping that the years of solitude would be enough to break his will.

Nine years passed with Paris having nothing to do but stare at the walls of his 5X5 foot cell. He did what anyone would expect. He counted the indentations of the bricks. He named the bricks. Hell, he even befriended the bricks. Coralie was there, disguised as brick number forty-two. She kept him company on many lonely nights, telling him how things were going to be just fine. There were other personalities within the walls as well. There were Knights from the Crusades, filling his mind with the stories of their adventures. At times, he could see himself as one of these Knights and there were periods of time within that nine year time span that he acted out his childhood fantasies, complete with sword fights and other crusader adventures.

In short, his time alone with no contact with anyone drove him towards the edge of the crazy cliff. He teetered there, close to falling off, but also leaning back into reality. Due to the constant nullification field, he was unable to practice his abilities, but he constantly thought about the possible strength that he held. Often in the dark, always alone, Paris remained in his cell and spoke to only himself and his mind's creations for nine years.

DURING APOCALYPSE (April 5th through April 12th, 2009)

During Apocalypse, Paris was in the same spot that he had been for the past nine years. Due to his growing insanity, his will was as strong as the day they had put him in the cell. His hatred grew, namely for those humans that locked him away. All of humanity would pay for this though, not just the ones that had locked him away. But there was little hope in his mind, considering the constant nullification field that was present throughout the prison.

That is, until a massive earthquake struck. Power went out throughout the prison and the backup generators failed. As the nullification fields went down, Paris felt the power of his mutation wash back over him like a wave of water and he was immediately aware that his telekinetic prowess had returned. While his captors struggled to return the power, Paris said one last goodbye to his many friends within the cell and even gave Coralie (brick number forty-two) a goodbye kiss. She would be missed.

The door was cell door was blown off of the hinges and Paris walked into a hallway that he had not set eyes on since the day he was thrown into the cell nine years ago. As he moved throughout the prison looking for the exit, he released every prisoner along the way, to which many of the freed mutants began to refer to him as their savior. He was the bringer of their exodus, and in a way, he was like Moses as he led them out of the prison. Once they were out of the prison, Paris brought the prison down like the red sea, finding the spots that were already damaged by the earthquake and causing the prison to collapse upon itself.

He would never return to that place.

POST-APOCALYPSE

After escaping prison, Paris stayed with a few of the prisoners that he helped to escape. They began calling him “Exodus,” because he had led them out of the prison in such a spectacular fashion. He had the desires to form another group to continue his campaign against those that would suppress his kind, however, one of his new found friends spoke of a group called the Brotherhood that held similar goals. The new friend was a member of one of the branches of the group in Russia and spoke of their leader, Magneto.

Immediately obsessed with the description and the few stories of Magneto that his friend provided, Exodus moved west through Russia and Europe with the prisoner known as Lowe, who was part of a Brotherhood cell located in the Czech Republic. Exodus moved with purpose, wanting power, revenge and the sterilization of humanity. Magneto could possibly provide this. So, it would not be long before he found the man that he sought. If Magneto was the god that his friend had told him about, Exodus would gladly take a knee. If not... then the Brotherhood would be an excellent and established group for him to acquire.

SAMPLE RP POST:

July 10, 2011
6:38 P.M.

“Exodus,” Lowe said, tapping him on the shoulder and motioning below towards the city of Prague. “It is located there. By nightfall, we'll be drinking beers and telling my friends of your escape. I'm sure one of them will be able to point you in the right direction.”

“Truly?” Exodus asked, stopping on the road and squinting his eyes towards the skyline. He smiled and nodded at his friend and then continued walking. They had been walking across Russia, through Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia and now the Czech Republic. They hitch hiked now and again, but they mostly walked. Exodus said it would build their strength and resolve from their many years in prison. He was right about that. They existed on what they could buy with the money they stole, usually from Exodus' prodding into someone's mind and convincing them to give them money. It had been a long journey, especially through Russia, since they had to constantly hide from the KGB. He then said, “I have long wanted to see such a city. A city that was splendid enough for the Brotherhood to hold court within.”

“Well... it isn't anything fancy. Probably a team of about ten to fifteen of us, depending on the need at the time. I don't even know if the same people will be there, or if the codes to get in have changed. It has been five years since I've been here after all,” Lowe said, not giving Exodus a second look for speaking strangely. He had been walking with the guy for quite a while and had grown accustomed to it. “And we don't hold court. Kind of just receive news and instructions, then follow from there.”

Exodus remained silent and walked on ahead, adjusting the shoulder strap of his backpack as he walked. Lowe followed behind, as they both began to descend a hill that led into the city.

8:15 PM

Lowe stood in front of a thick wooden door shaking his head. He glanced up towards the camera that was above the door, raising both hands up in frustration. Exodus looked as well, then back down to his friend. “Something wrong?” he asked.

“The damn code doesn't work. I told you this would happen. They could have completely new people in there now,” Lowe explained, typing in the code “6-4-3-9” into the keypad. It flashed red and he banged on the door with his fist.

“Magneto is not within?” Exodus asked, frowning.

“What? I told you that he wouldn't be here. He never comes here. Hell, I've only seen him one time. He is like Jesus or something. Very protected and secretive. We just do what he...”

“You fool. I wanted to be led to Magneto.”

“Uh... I have told you repeatedly that this is not where you'll find him... but maybe whoever is in charge of this cell can get you in to see him,” Lowe tried to explain again, turning to look at the camera once more. “I am Lowe! I am a Brother!” he said loudly, holding his arm up to show a tattoo.

Exodus grabbed his arm and twisted it, looking at the tattoo. “Is that what this means? Many times I have noticed this marking the light of fire. But not until this day did I realize that it would grant you access to such a place. Is this the key to finding Magneto?”

Lowe yanked his arm away, rubbing his wrist. “What? No! Dude, this is a tattoo that some of us here got years ago. Just because we were all such good friends and shit. What is wrong with you? You haven't acted like this the entire way, and now you're wigging the fuck out? Get a grip. Besides, you just don't 'get to see' Magneto. There are lots of Brotherhood members that have devoted their lives to him, and they are lucky just to shake his hand. You haven't done shit for us! So stand back and shut up. I'll...”

“Lowe?” a female voice asked, the wooden door creaking open slightly. “LOWE!” the girl exclaimed, flinging the door open and running out to meet him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him a few times on the face. She was gray skinned with very feline features. After their short embrace, she looked over to the frowning Exodus. “What is his problem?”

“Are you one that has shaken Magneto's hand?” Exodus asked, placing his own hands behind his back.

“What?” the girl asked, looking at Lowe in confusion.

“I told him that very few are lucky enough to actually meet Magneto. That some of us work for years and have only met him once,” Lowe explained. “Seriously Abby, he didn't act like this the entire way here. He was cool. Now he is wigging out.”

Abby nodded and looked back to Exodus. “Yes, I have met Magneto twice. Though I doubt he would remember... it was a group of us just two months ago, actually. We were invited down to Sanctuary and he basically told us that we were doing a good job. Gave us the inspirational speech. That sort of thing. So yea, honey,” Abby said, smirking. “I'm one of the few that is good enough to be in the company of Magneto.”

“Then maybe he will miss you when you are gone,” Exodus said solemnly, raising his hand up in front of him. He squeezed his fist and grit his teeth, causing an invisible wall of force to crush Abby from all sides. It was a sickening sound of bone breaking and squishing as a force of ten tons came at her from all directions. He then flicked his wrist and pointed at the door, sending the hunk of meat through the door with such force that it knocked it off the hinges.

“The fuck?!” Lowe exclaimed, his eyes widening. Lowe, which is German for Lion, exposed his mutation and roared, bearing claws and fangs as he did so. He leaped forward in order to rip Exodus in half, but he was stopped mid-jump.

“You have been a good friend, Lowe. Thank you for leading me here. So by the grace of God, I hope you land on your feet,” Exodus said, sending Lowe shooting into the sky like a bullet. Where ever the guy landed, Exodus never saw him again. Exodus turned and walked over the broken down door. As he passed over it, the door fragmented into several pieces and floated along behind him as he walked down the corridor to confront the Brotherhood cell.

Inside, it quickly became a war zone. Gunfire rattled off, energy blasts were fired, those that were strong fell. Exodus moved throughout the building and killed with no discrimination, ending ten more mutant's lives. It was a hard fought battle to be sure, but the superior mutation overcame and half an hour after he entered, Exodus exited the building. In his hands he held the location of two other cells. One in Germany and the other in Italy.

Looking up from the documents, Exodus finally took notice of the police that had surrounded the building, drawn there by the gunfire. “The Brotherhood within are dead. Tell all who ask that Exodus is the man that destroyed them,” he said loudly and then proceeded to place the documents into his backpack. The man then lifted himself off the ground and shot into the night sky, leaving the police bewildered.

I have read this bio through and we have talked at length regarding this character. I'm okay with almost everything in this bio. I would ask that you remove the reference to Omega Red in your history as he is open to play and any future player may have other plans for him. As stated, the sample post is XMR canon pending approval and has already been discussed with me.

Once the change has been made, please reply to my review and I will approve it. However, another staff member may have concerns and ask you to satisfy them.
