Sep 2nd.
Evening.

Standing amid so much destruction, feeling the anger welling beneath her bones Tabitha wondered how people can be so blind not to see the consequences of their actions. Children, even if they were mutants, were still children and no amount of excuses or form of reasoning could justify hurting a child. To take them from the home they know, to introduce distrust and danger into one of the few places they feel safe was to rip peace from their minds and replace it with fear and insecurity. No man, no matter their cause, should have the power to do such a thing.

Few people had as keen an understanding of their surroundings as Tabitha Smith, she knew explosions, she knew bombs, she knew the sounds of shattering glass and tumbling rock, and she knew them all to well. It was disarming to say the least, to have something something so seemingly small wreak so much havoc on it’s surroundings. It was always the same, no matter how big or small, it was always the same. First came the light, the shimmering brilliance of beams emitting sun across a barren tundra. Heat would follow, chased down by the thundering boom of violent sound energy leaving only silence and ash in its place.

This was the reality Meltdown knew better than anyone else and now it was here to haunt her. Hearing nothing but hushed voices and breathless tears around her the blond-haired girl knew she had to do something before this had the chance to happen again.

Surely someone would know more about the group known as The Purifiers, surely SHIELD, for all their bravado and intelligence knew of the existence of a group like this. They had to have names, addresses, something, anything that would lead Tabitha to track these people and make them pay for the tear-soaked rubble they had left in their aftermath. Though the girl was a skilled thief, getting into SHIELD may be too challenging even for heart the moment, she would need clearance, and she knew just where to get it.

Simon Williams had been making big waves in the agency lately, or so she heard. And though he may not be on the highest tier of the company ladder, he had enough clearance to get the job done, all she needed was a few minutes.

Walking through the smoke and fallen ash Tabitha started to take it all in one more time before leaving for the city. Standing at the site of what was her favorite bench the young woman noticed two brown squirrels digging through the rubble, finding whatever they could and heading back up the singed tree’s.

one hour later

"Listen Doreen, it'll just be a little while, in and out. I know this guy, he wouldn't mind at all, it's just that... well, I don't want to waltz right through the front door for the whole world to see, he has just to most nosy neighbors in the world. Two pretty girls going into his house late at night... next thing you know, our pictures would be plastered along-side "infidelity" right there in the morning paper, you get what I'm saying?"

"You'll be so helpful to me, get those little guys to do things in a much quieter fashion than my bombs could..."

"What'dya say, you'll come along?"
