Ulysses Conrad. That was a name Reina did not think she would have to hear again. Their last encountered ended with her putting a bullet in his butt, something that she was sure he was mighty upset about while wasting away in prison. Seeing as how the guy was just some old, nonpowered human there had been no need to put him in any sort of null cell or attach the technology to him. What could he possibly do? But somehow the old bastard managed to get a hold of a couple of his buddies that managed to escape the raid to break him free from prison and murder two guards on the way out. Those poor men were only doing their jobs and now letters on condolence had to be written to the families left behind.

Conrad and the remaining people that made up the United Front were going to be taken down for good this time. Once arrested, he would be slapped with multiple life sentences without the possibility of parole. There would never be any freedom for the bastard so he better enjoy his brief time out in the open world while it lasted. SHIELD was about to come down on him in a big way. Reina looked to the small group of agents that had gathered in the launch bay. Each of them probably felt the same way that she did. The United Front was a dangerous force led by an equally dangerous man. “Conrad is out there doing God knows what and he knows we’re coming for him,” she began. “No doubt he is going to hit us with everything that he has, so we have to hit back twice as hard.”

“Through all the information that was gathered on the United Front we,” she pointed to herself and Bishop, “have come to the conclusion that the most likely place for them to regroup is his mansion in Putnam Valley. It’s isolated and no one knows about, the perfect spot for scum.” Reina looked to the resident teleporter. “His old henchling was more than happy to give us the address to the place.” She handed him a piece of paper indicating so. “Drop us right on top of their heads.” Reina checked her sidearm making sure that it was loaded and off safety. She did not like to use the thing, but it was good to have in emergency situations.

Pete lounged back a bit in the rear of the launch ship. He was in a slightly worn gray suit and had a cigarette between his lips that he had been working through while he waited for the mission to get rolling. The was the normal air about the group gathered, the team actually going in the field was mainly vet's from what Pete had learned. That was a good thing, he was getting tired of having to drag kids out of the line of fire. Was nice to work with professionals like himself. His eyes darted about a bit as he took it all in. As before any mission there was always that slight air of uncertainty floating about, no one spoke of it. But you all knew it was there, and that this could be the last time you ever got dropped off. Pete had thumbed through the brief they were given. He knew the basics, bad men, who did bad things, who got loose, and now needed to be taken back in. Seemed simple enough to him. Didn't look to be any super's involved which was always a plus. There was a chance his suit wouldn't come all all singed and mucked up over this one.

The young woman who was heading the team up spoke up as they all seemed to be gathered and ready to go. . “Conrad is out there doing God knows what and he knows we’re coming for him,” Pete let a small chuckle out as he pinched his cigarette between his finger and looked up. “How the hell do they always know we are coming... I'd really like the name of the guy who sends every creep and creepette in the world a postcard telling them when there time is up.” He gave his head a shake. “What happened to the good ol' days of stealth and surprise. Getting to give a speech of how you tracked them down, and now justice would be served.” He paused a moment. “I blame the ipeople and their bloody techno gizmos.” He waved his hand to single his way of apologizing for his commentary on the matter, muttering a bit to himself about the waste of space and his own distaste for most forms of technology. He wasn't old..old..but Peter was an old soul. He liked to do things on his own, gather intel, bash in heads for information. He was not into all this google your enemy nonsense. In his mind that was what made him so good, he was a wild card. Not driven by a machine or prone to knowing to much. He knew just enough and then the rest was on him. Forced him to stay sharp and keep his guard up.

“His old henchling was more than happy to give us the address to the place.”

Peter gave a nod as she filled the group on the rest of the facts they would need to know. About where they were going to attack and how they were going to be met with a bit of force so they would have to fight back. It all sounded good to him, he was getting a bit stir crazy on the ship and was looking forward to a bit of action to take his mind off the bordem that had become his life. As they talked about the quite, secluded, rather well off sounded mansion Peter let another mumble out under his breath. “I want a mansion...” He kept the line more or less to himself or those around him who could hear the mutter. As she handed the address over to the teleporter he stood up from his slouched position in a chair and gave his suit jacket a tug. “So does this flight come with barf bags?” He said with a grin, he never liked this part. It always made his insides feel all loopy when they came to where ever they were going. But it was quickly become the norm for his line of work, and he was quickly finding something new to gripe and bitch about so all was well with the world...more or less.

Harold pumped his oversized shotgun, twirled it and grinned widely. It was all he could do to stop from roaring, or worse, giggling with pre battle jitters.
United Front. Terrorists. Motivation, positive. Means; demanding swift termination.

Wandering around the helicarrier and standing around the dome in mutant town had grown more than wearisome. To anyone who asked, Harold would say that violence was the next step after the last possible option, but truth be told to so directly, physically and viscerally have a hand in the prosecution of the guilty and the protection of the innocent was one of the primary reasons he got out of bed in the morning at 6:00, did pushups for an hour and then wore a grin all the way through breakfast.

The team leader, Reina or "Feedback" was a new, but quite positive addition to the US SHEILD department. A gifted people person, professional but not uptight. She did her job well, and Harold was happy to be serving under her. He understood that she had personal investment into his mission, and had personally resolved that, unless it compromised his orders, he would allow her to seek out her revenge to her satisfaction. He didn't have a full intellectual understanding of the processes, but he knew he preferred working alongside grim, hard-bitten satisfied characters than grim, hard-bitten bitter and resentful characters.

Tactics were Shock and Awe. Lethal Force was approved, but prisoners were preferable. This wasn’t so much the police work he had gotten used to, as the paramilitary work he had signed up for.

Just like the old days, he thought, cracking the joints in his neck.

JP between Eden & Bishop
___________

Lucas had been in the gym when he got the word that Conrad had orchestrated an escape from Ryker's; the result was a punching bag with a fist sized hole through it and lots of sand on the floor. That guy never should have seen the light of day again, but whether it was some stroke of creative genius, or a well placed bribe didn't matter.....he was going down one way or another. The scowl on his face could strike fear into the toughest of men, and his slightly glowing eyes threatened to blast anyone who crossed his path while the anger was growing at Conrad's escape. Small wisps of energy were even curling off of his fingers, showing how anxious he was to release that pent up energy in the direction of someone who deserved it. He stood with the others in the launch bay, rifle on his back, pistol on his hip, both fully charged and fully loaded. He let Reina take the lead, but nodded his head when she explained the info gathered between them located Conrad's mansion and probably staging location for whatever he planned next. He smiled a bit and cracked his knuckles when she mentioned one of Conrad's flunkies gave up the info; he was pissed about his treatment, but a little threatening always got a bit more info out of people. When she gave the word to Eden, he put the rifle in his hands and waited.

_____________________

He'd been keeping himself busy when Bishop and Feedback cornered that slimy bastard the first time, but now he was assembled with the others in the strike team and prepared to get him again, and this time he wouldn't escape. Like always he was bristling with weapons, mostly blades; it was how he worked. He stood and listened to the plan calmly. After Feedback gave him the slip with the coordinates for the mansion, he smiled as he realized the plan was simply, go fuck shit up commando style.....he liked it. Whirling his hand, his signature portal opened up and the instant space-time tunnel to Conrad's humble abode was complete. Before going in himself, he smiled at Wisdom. "Ran outta barf bags last week mate, tough goin ahead eh?" He jumped in, ready for a fight.

______________

Eden had already decked the guard they'd come out on top of, and while his partner was opening his mouth and raising his weapon, Bishop stepped through the portal and put his fist to the second guard's jaw; he sailed a good ten feet before rolling to a stop, clearly unconscious. With a motion to Eden, the teleporter was around back, while Bishop stayed up front by the main doors waiting for the others. Conrad wasn't getting out of this one.

Wisdom’s comment about the way technology was today got a smile out of her. She shook her head. He was right though. People nowadays could do a lot with the type of gear that was open on the market. Every amateur was going around calling themselves a hacker now simply because they managed some small feat. Reina brought her mind back to the task at hand. She shook off the nerves and steeled herself for what was to come next. Eden opened up a portal that led directly to the front of the house and the men stepped through. Two of the guards had been taken out quickly, but they were far from being the only ones. Reina stepped out of the portal and immediately booked it to the left side of the house.

There was a shimmer in the surrounding woods. She ducked just in time as a gunshot sounded off and a bullet hole appeared in the side of the house where he head just was. “Holy crap!” She ran along the building to avoid the shots from the attacker that had now made his presence known. She crouched and used the tall grass of the lawn that had been unkempt for so long to obscure the shooters vision. “I got hostiles coming out the woodworks, literally,” she said in the earpiece. These guys had indeed been prepared. Conrad had some of his men station themselves in the woods to take whoever showed up by surprise. Once the shots finally stopped, Reina stood up straight, inhaled, and then released a quick burst of sonic energy.

The concussive force knocked the man’s shoot arm back leaving him wide open. Reina rushed forward and thrust the palm of her right hand straight into the guy’s nose. She followed up by grabbing the back of his head and kneeing him in the gut then the face. He fell back into the grass with a bloody face writhing in pain. Without missing a beat she turned around and unleashed another scream on the approaching hostile.

Harold stepped through the portal, and his darkest most private dreams were realised as he watched an armed and armoured individual blown away by his fellow agents shreik. Stepping between the woods and Agent Feedback, Jottun whipped out his custom SMG and started rattling off bullets. Large chunks of tree where smashed away by the oversized rounds as the extremists ducked for cover against the metal storm. He reached behind and pulled forth his shield, using it to protect himself and Reina

"THIS IS AN AUTHORISED SHIELD OPPERATION! DROP YOUR WEAPONS AND GET ON THE GROUND!" He bellowed, spittle flying from his mouth. He was answered by a stream of bullets impacting against the shield, until it became apparent they couldnt penetrate it.

Then some particularly sharp shooting and moronic bloody fanatic wised up. Jottun felt a small, sharp and hot stripe form against his ankle. He looked down to see a long, wide graze where the bullet had ripped off the upper layer of his toughened epidermus. He scowled, slapped another magazine into his SMG and unleashed a swarm of thumb sized metal justice.

"BLOD OCH ÅSKA!"
