Posters line the streets of the entirety of New York, Mutant Town included. Children pull on their mothers' sleeves and beg permission to go to the new carnival that has arrived. Carnival X. Juggling, fire dancing, sword eating and many other oddities and delights can be seen at the carnival. In addition to these wondrous sights, mutants can add kidnapping to the list. The carnies of the carnival are mutants, and it is much more than a carnival, it is a cult. The leader of the carnival is a mutant codenamed Fetch. Her ability allows her to identify mutants and overpower their will - however, the second aspect of her ability requires close proximity for several hours. Fetch has been traveling the country with her band of loyal mutants and has been kidnapping mutants by force and then subduing them with her enchanting powers. Those of you who join in this adventure will have the pleasure of enjoying the carnival delights and also unraveling the intrigue of Fetch's motivations and intentions. Welcome to Carnival X. I'll be accepting 6 people in this thread to make it manageable: 1. Lyric 2. Derek 3. Overkill 4. Kelrian 5. Rogue 6. Jasper |

Nice. I've got a few questions. Fetch and her followers, are you planning on NPCing them/ are they open to NPC by the players involved? Is this going to be done in multiple threads? Like one for people to get drawn in, enjoy the carnival, etc. Another for once they're overpowered and people to go in to save them/ fight them/ etc? What factions are okay for this? I mean SHIELD could come in, arrest and null everyone, and sort things out later, other factions could realize their teammates or friends are missing and go to break some faces, or are they supposed to break free on their own? And... stuff. o__o Asking more than I originally meant but yeah. I have ideas and I wanna get in on this. Trying to figure out which characters to use but yeah. |

I'd also like to get in on this if it's open to any faction. *pulls out big-ass magnifying glass* |

I'm keen as to be in on this, sounds really interesting. I'm also good with being either a captured person or a come in to save stuff guy (if that's the way you're rolling it). |

Answers: I plan on describing the npcs, but letting people play them in their posts. This will be done in multiple threads, one for everyone to start in and then individual ones as necessary. This thread is open to anyone, but they have to have come to the carnival before things started to happen. SHIELD wouldn't know about what was going on, and it will be more of a get caught and escape things, there shouldn't be a need for others to rescue your character. Characters are captured and then through their own means they escape. They will be paired off with a carnie mutant (thank Fetch's ability) who has an ability well suited for catching them. Thanks for the questions :) Everyone feel free to ask questions, I wasn't very explicit in the opening post. |

Very much canon. Just no super-duper powers. |

Punches from the Punch Dimension

I am going to just say this right now. I am not comfortable with a story of this magnitude being Lyle's first thread on this board. While the story has potential, it relies far too heavily on NPCs and I know from experience that that doesn't work well without a strong hand to guide it. I haven't seen anything yet from the player that leads me to believe he'll be able to keep a grip on this. I would like this idea sidelined until we can retool it to involve more PCs or a stronger foundation from Lyle's player |
