"Actually a lot of things were very different to me when I first came here," he said as he sat and fiddled with his hands "Though then again, once I got here I was pretty much driven straight into the sewers, but then again somethings were tough to get accustom to, some more than others, but I learned to adjust. Though I can see how it would be harder for you to come from a place like Denmark and then acclimatize yourself here." As she mentioned accents he laughed lightly "Oh my friend I don't know if I have an accent but if it helps I'll say aboot for ye just one time." Anansi looked into the purplish skin, the beauty of her eyes, the shape of her face. Shaking his head briefly he looked back down into his cup adding more coffee. "Well I'm just happy that she cares for me and doesn't judge me like mostly everyone else does," he commented leaning back to rest on his lower arms and look at her "Well in terms of family you have to do what you have to do. There are always things that make people stay , be it a new family, a new group of friends or even just someone you care about. All those things come together to keep you in a certain place, though if you remember where your family is and that they are there for you, than that is all that matters." As the conversation switched to the talk of the Morlocks, he smiled softly under his mandibles. Oh how knowledge of their small little group is shared with so few and yet so many know of them. "Yup I am a member of that group," he said as "Yup we got some assistance from them long ago, but it was only in the terms of medicine and food." Looking at the woman in front of him, he smiled again before reaching on the table and getting another cookie. "Aye a bed and a shelter is what I have, though it is nice to sit somewhere where the company isn't always a walking pile of bugs" he said with a laugh " but I can see your point." When Ariel spoke of making teddy spiders he laughed all the louder, the laugh echoing out from between his mandibles. "Oh that would be good for a laugh," he said again laughing "a teddy bear with 6 arms and 8 eyes. Oh how that would scare children. Though in regards to being adorable, I'm afraid that is a new one for me to hear, but a compliment is a compliment especially when I don't get many." |

She felt strangely warm inside as he sat there telling about how it had been for him to adjust to the new place, it wasn’t a lot of people she had met that had felt this difference in culture at all. “Tell me about it… Denmark is much more open minded when it comes to some things… And the heat! Man, I tell ya, adjusting to the difference in temperature was something my body had some hardships doing, especially at night!” she confined in him and chuckled. It was nice talking to him, strangely easy and without effort. As he chuckled yet another wave of blushing ran over her, making the purple color of her skin last for even longer, his laughter was warm, friendly and not forced. Something the Icy girl was able to appreciate. Hearing him say ‘aboot’ had a laughter burst out from her mouth and she laid her head back laughing “Priceless! Oh Gosh I love it!” She finally managed to get out between her laughter. “Do it again, please?” she begged of him and bit her bottom lip as she looked at him. Ariel nodded and smiled at him, her eyes not leaving his “I’m glad you have her, everyone needs at least someone who cares for them and who they care for as well… whether it be family, friends or a lover… we all need at least someone.” She said and looked at some spot on her floor “I love my family so much and I miss them a lot. At first when I came to the states I was too excited to notice how much I missed them. Then the excitement wore off and the daily life hit and… I started crying at night, feeling so lonely. My cousin was my best friend; she was the only one around my age who seemed to look past my ugly frosty mutation. But I’ve come a long with it and… though I still feel a tad lonely sometimes; it’s not as bad anymore.” She said and wrapped her arms around herself not looking at him. It was a sore topic for her, it made her realize how far away she was from what she knew. The frosty girl nodded and smiled “Well, I guess if it works for some… I think I’m too stubborn on my rights to be up here, walking freely amongst normies, to be a part of such a group.” She said and chuckled. It was truly a shame that some people had to resort to live beneath the city, in order to feel like they could survive life with their mutations. A blush went through her once again making her skin almost radiant this time, “Well, even if it’s warm and cozy up here, it’s nice to be able to talk to a spider that responses.” She said and chuckled pointing up at a corner of her ceiling, a small black spider sat there silently “That’s Erwin, he’s been there since the middle of April. He eats the flies, mosquitoes and other annoying stuff that flies in, but talking to him doesn’t really count as an intelligent conversation.” She chuckled, smiling at her newest company “Besides, he’s nowhere near as cute as you. It must be the human part of you, mixed with the spider species you’ve mutated to.” She said revealing a bit of what she had caught while observing him and his looks. Hearing him laugh loudly surprised her, sending a jolt of joy threw her as she realized she amused him, “Well, would they really be scared if it’s a part of what they grow up with? If we teach kids that spiders are cute and good – except for the deadly ones of course and the ones from Harry Potter - would they really be scared of spiders?” She asked and smiled, “We have to keep in mind, that the society is what people has made it. If everyone sat down and said, we want our kids to grow up thinking spiders are cute, we would be able to do that and change the world through the newest generation. There will always be the few exceptions that prove the rule, I mean some just have a phobia against spiders, like some have against their own penises, it can’t be helped.” She babbled on and on, simply saying what was on her mind without filtering it at all. “And you just come see good ol’ Ariel Jensen; she’ll give you plenty of genuine compliments from the heart, Christian.” |

"What are you talking aboot?" he said with humorous tone "I have no idea what ye are talking aboot." It was nice to joke with someone outside of the Morlocks who could appreciate his accent or his humor. Since he was in America it was unique for someone to appreciate accents since most people all kinda spoke with the same accent. Though since he had been in the states, his accent had been hidden. Her laugh that burst from her sounded beautiful to his hairs as his brain turned the vibrations into sound. He watched as Ariel started talking about her family and how much she missed them. It was understandable to miss your family and friends, though it was different for him. His parents were dead and the only one from his old life was his sister, who was living her life in Toronto. Anansi's eyes focused on Ariel as she spoke of her cousin accepting her. Feeling bad for her when she wrapped her arms around her, Anansi again reached over and patter her softly. "You don't have an ugly icy mutation" he said truthfully "yes you are blue, but at least you can go outside without someone throwing a brick at you. You have the chance to be normal even if you are blue." "As for being stubborn I think that it is different for each of us," he said "we all had different interactions when we came to this city, though walking normally would be nice from time to time." Hearing her laugh again, Anansi smiled under his mandibles as he took his last sip of coffee and moved his mandibles back over his mouth, though he left enough room to speak. As she pointed out the spider in the corner of her ceiling. One of his eyes looked at it as she spoke of it. "Erwin eh?" he said as she spoke of him "Well he is just a regular wolf spider and he also has to eat as well and yeah they aren't really good conversationalists." When she mentioned cute, he blushed again unused to being called cute. "Yeah I would have to say I am cuter and I'm lucky I got the jumping spider mutation. Could you imagine what I would look like if I had merged with a Tarantula or a Bird Eating spider? God I would be scary." "I think people will always be afraid of spiders, even though things like Harry Potter and other books or movies had shown them in different lights," he said eating a cookie letting his little feelers clean off the crumbs "I think it's more than just societal fear, I think its more the fear of the unknown, the fear of something different from themselves that creates the phobia but I see where your coming from." Smiling as she said to come to her for compliments he nodded while blushing "That I could totally do, since most people don't really give me compliments that often." |

It was amazing, simply wonderful to listen to and she couldn’t stop laughing. She wrapped her arms around her stomach feeling the tears starting to run down her cheeks and she slowly felt to the side laying on the floor laughing. She really loved accents and the Canadian accent was just one of the most awesome and different things she had heard in a long time. “Aboot” she copied him and a wave of laughter rolled over her again, to some it may seem like she was being hysterical or just plain acting to make him feel good about himself, but she wasn’t. To her this was one of the funniest things ever and she loved every single minute of it. “Oh Gosh…” she finally said as the laughter started to wore out “That’s… just…hysterically funny…” she said while drying her cheeks from frozen patterns from the tears. “Oh Christian, you really know how to make a girl happy.” She said and slowly as the laughter started to stop she forced herself up to sit up straight, her hair a mess from laying down, giving her a scruffy kind of look, framing her face that was still a bit purple from the blush that also had started to disappear. “Man… it’s been such a long time since I’ve laughed so hard. I’m so glad I met you!” she said and tried to catch her breath, with the occasional chuckle interrupting her in this process. There was something handsome and sexy about a guy that could make a girl laugh so sincerely, without much effort and Ariel smiled widely at him. How could it be possible for a guy to be so handsome, with looks like his? He wasn’t what you’d typically call ‘sexy’ or ‘handsome’ and he definitely wasn’t someone the pre-teenager and young teenager girls would paste on their walls and swoon over. But suddenly Ariel saw him in a new light. She had been seeing him with eyes of fascination and observance and speaking from an analytic perspective, Anansi was a handsome guy, but still half spider. But seeing his personality, his humor changed that and now she looked at him like a female would look at any somewhat cute guy on the streets. Looking up as the spider guy reached over the table towards her and patted her gently, she smiled at him, not as brightly as she had been the past few times, “Thanks… But don’t think I don’t feel the hatred that a visible mutant gets. I know how it feels to get a rock thrown at you, I know how it feels to be threatened with knives and broken glass bottles. I know how it feels to sit in a girls bathroom, bleeding from nose and mouth and a ripped eyebrow, because you’ve been beaten by hateful girls. I’ve experienced those things too and honestly, not many people notice anything but the blue skin and the cold aura.” She said softly and looked down, “My cousin was always there for me. But we have different paths ahead of us… It’s just a part of life.” She finished, more to remind herself of this fact, than to tell him. She shook her head and smiled “If you want to walk the surface, then do it. I’d gladly walk with you Christian. Why should we hide? Those people who hate us could give birth to one of us. We have just as much rights as they do.” She stated, this was her believes and she’d fight for them for how long it would take. She looked at him as he talked about Erwin and his own looks and chuckled “Yeah, you got the good spider. I could just imagine you as one of those big ones. Not that they’re not cute too, but just not in the same way, you know? I think the jumping spider suits you perfectly” she admitted with a small and innocent smile on her lips. “Once I get kids – let’s hope it’ll be many years from now – I’m gonna raise them to respect and not fear spiders.” She lifted her chin up high and proudly with a big grin on her lips when suddenly a realization seemed to wash over her like a tidal wave. “SHIT! The oven!” she said and quickly got on her legs and ran out to the kitchen. She had left the oven pre-head in case he had wanted pizza and she quickly turned it off. “Damn… Could you have imagined if I had let it be on all night?” she called out to him from the kitchen, pouring herself a cup of milk before joining him in the room again, leaning against the door frame looking at him with a light glance. |

Anansi watched with a grin as Ariel rolled around the floor laughing. He had very rarely seen his accent cause someone this much amusement. Chuckling as tears poured down her cheeks and froze, Anansi just watched. There was nothing he could do but enjoy her laughter and her amusement. Crossing one set of his arms he laughed softly at her saying 'aboot' and then watched her roll around again. As she rolled into a sitting position, she wiped away the frozen tears before telling him that he really knew how to make a girl happy. That was a very interesting thing to hear, since he never dreamed of making a woman happy since his mutation. His eyes took in her tousled hair and how it framed her face. The red contrasted beautifully to her blue skin which was now a nice purple. It was a new experience for the spider to feel an attraction to someone. He had never felt the need to care for anyone let alone someone from the surface. In all his life he never figured that someone would care or show kindness towards him other then first meetings. Her smile brought a smile to his own face and he watched as she looked at her. When she talked about the trials of being a physically mutated mutant, he knew exactly what she was talking about. For the longest time he had experienced the hatred of humanity, the harm of bricks, the bite of knives, the feel of bullets. It was something that he never wanted to experience again but he knew that it would happen again. Unfortunately human ideology was slow to change, and it would probably be a very long time before mutants were accepted in any degree. When she mentioned walking on the surface with her, he smiled and blushed a little bit before answering "that would be very interesting one day." "Yeah I'm happy I didn't mutate to one of the bigger species of spiders," he said with a laugh "I can't imagine myself as a tarantula having the size and the powerful toxin. I'm happy with what I am right now." The large smile on her face made his heart pump a little faster until she jumped up and yelled about an oven. Looking at her startled, Anansi watched as she ran past him and into the kitchen talking about what would have happened if she had left it on all night. "Well it probably would have gotten very hot or set fire to the place," he said as he looked at her with the eyes on the back of his head. Standing he looked at her as she took a sip of milk and she glanced at him with a light gaze. The look in her eyes told him that she was getting tired and his assumption was correct. The clock said it was 2 in the morning and he looked at it in shock. "Oh wow its 2 in the morning," he said as he hurried to the window preparing to step out onto the ledge "I should go and let you sleep. I would feel very bad if you were kept awake any further by me." |

Something seemed different about the way the guy looked at her, not that she could really tell, there weren’t much emotions to see in his eyes like there was with normal humanoid people, so he was hard for her to read. But nonetheless something seemed a bit different by the way he was sitting, the signals he sent, everything and Ariel suddenly felt a bit shy – something very odd that didn’t occur often. She wasn’t one to feel shy, ever. But sitting there, knowing he looked at her while laughing… laughing… That was it! His laughter, the voice, it had changed. It had opened up and it was soft and somewhat warm to her ears, the tone that was in his laughter was something she hadn’t heard in a long time, since her mutation had happened. Her heart pumped a little faster taking in his laughter and letting it fill her with joy and the unfamiliar but nice shyness. Hearing him say that walking with her in daylight on the surface made her smile and she decided to take that as a yes, “Great, that means I’ll see you again.” She chuckled and bit her bottom lip and tilted her head to the sight looking at him “Assuming you would like to see me again.” She added a bit trying, not quite sure that she was right, she hadn’t been good at reading him so far and she wanted to have him confirm the slight… well big hope that was inside of her. She held her breath waiting for his answer, feeling nervous like she did when she had asked a guy out, afraid to be let down. Hearing him from the kitchen mention how the oven would have probably caught on fire a chill went down Ariel’s spine. It was never good for anyone – well except for maybe fire manipulators – to be caught in a fire, but for her it was fetal even before the flames really got near her. “Yeah, that’s what I meant.” She admitted. Even now, as she could only feel the heat from the now turned off oven, she felt how she was weakened and sighed quietly to herself; if anyone wanted to attack her, it should be now. It was a big side effect to her powers and she praised the lord that she didn’t live someplace warm like Texas or Mexico. Ariel looked at the clock hanging on the wall and opened her eyes wide; he was right, it was practically 2 in the morning and she shook her head slowly “Yeah, it is quite late” she confirmed, but felt sad as she saw him hurry off to her window; she knew he didn’t rush over there to get away from her as quickly as possible, he was probably just as he said, worried about being the one keeping her up and truth be told, if it hadn’t been for him, she would have been in bed by now, but she had enjoyed his company. “Well I enjoyed your visit, so I’m fine with being up this late” She said with a soft smile turning off the light in the kitchen and was surprised at how much the moon lightened her room. “The offer still stands if it’s too late for you to get back.” She said and crawled into her bed after having placed the milk on her bed stand, pulling the sheets to the side. Sitting there she looked at her guest quiet for a few minutes, “I really would like to see you again… When do you think you have time to meet up?” She asked gathering all her courage to ask him. |

"Of course I would like to see you again," he commented "There aren't many people that I would like to see again. Well there was this one women that I would out for coffee and play chess with. Though she died when a Sentinel stepped on her. She was good at chess, very hard to beat someone when your two heads could run so many moves that you'd lose in about 5 turns." He watched as she leant against the kitchen door frame with her class of milk in hand looking somewhat scared, standing there in her shorts and tank top. Again without knowing his eyes roved over her blue body and he rolled them to get them to focus again. As she looked at the clock, he noticed her eyes widen at the time and it brought a soft smile to his lips. Noting the sadness in her voice when she sad she had enjoyed his visit he smiled again and nodded, two of his eyes looking out the window. There had been many times he had been out of the sewers for more than a few days or just spent away from the main compound. As the lights were turned off, his eyes automatically switched to nightvision mode and he was amazed to see very little body heat coming from Ariel. Almost none, though probably because of her ice powers. When she crawled into bed and drew the covers over her, Anansi paused as she looked at him in silence. With the offer brewing around in his head, he exhaled softly and reaching up with his upper left arm closed and locked the window. "I think I will accept your offer and as for seeing me again I think any time I can spare from my duties," he said as he came to sit down on the bed "though I'll probably be a little busy. Something weird is going on with the leader so I may be absent for a little while. But thank you for the invite to stay the night." Dropping down to lie beside her, he marveled at the softness of the sheets and ran his hands over them in admiration. "It has been so long since I have slept in an actual bed" he said softly placing his head on the pillow. It was weird to have his eyes covered but he didn't mind as his fangs clicked in happiness and a sigh escaped him. He wasn't sure what to do with his arms so he let them hang off the bed, though one of them had drew up the sheets around the two of them and shortly he was asleep. |

Looking at him in the silence, waiting to see him jump out her window and disappear into the night. She wished he didn’t have to leave, that she would have more time with him, but he had promised he’d come back and that he wanted to see her again, even if it would take a long time for him to come back to see her. It was sad, she had just met a guy who she found interesting, funny, easy to talk to and who could make her shy, nervous and make her heart pump in her chest. She saw him lift his arm up and thought that now was when he’d leave, but to her big surprise he closed the window and locked it. A smile spread on her face, sure they were going to sleep, but she was kind of happy that he wasn’t going to leave yet. She moved her sheets to the side and looked at him as he told her he’d accept her offer anyway. She watched him lay down on her bed besides her and she laid down next to him and looked at him observing how he felt the sheets and chuckled “Well, it’s about time you feel one again. I hope you like it, I changed sheets today, so they’re fresh.” She said and took a deep breath closing her eyes. Sure they weren’t touching each other, but she could feel he was laying besides her and it was a nice soothing feeling that she enjoyed. The last time she had had someone lay besides her, was her cousin the night before she traveled to the U.S.A. She laid there thinking about the day for a few minutes for a few minutes with a smile on her lips until the sleep finally took over and took her into a nice and calm sleep. [The next morning around 10 am] Ariel was still sleeping; she had at some point that night turned her back to the guy next to her and he had at some point turned towards her and laid his arms over her, spooning her sweetly. At this point Ariel didn’t know that they were lying like that, but she was laying there with a smile on her lips, feeling nice and safe in her sleep. |

Paige never was one to be without a task. Others among the New York X-Men were attending to the larger, more intricate assignments, so the omnimorph had chosen to apply her talents elsewhere. With this strange cut off from Utopia in place and some kind of body switching invasion going on, it seemed a prudent time to touch base with one of her former charges. Ariel Jensen, code-named Icy, was a former student of the Xavier Institute and one of the few Paige had successfully recruited. In addition she was a close friend of Lucy Saint and perhaps had heard from the Utopian nurse recently. Furthermore, it was a chance to get a feel for how things might be in X-Corp. Husk had no desire to cross Logan or his new set of rules so she had politely asked Bobby Drake to come with. He had a knack with former students and his own mutant powers were similar to Ariel's. Following her own habit of following orders to the letter Paige had apologized for her lateness and attitude at the meeting then asked Logan's permission for the visit. With everything in place, she and Bobby had piled into a cab and found themselves outside Ariel's apartment. Paige pulled lose a spare key and fitted it expertly into the lock. She had a long standing habit of keeping a copy of any key that might, in anyway at all, prove useful. Having a parcel of younger siblings taught you to hold onto strange things. Polite as ever she slid the door open quietly not wanting to disturb anyone. She peered around curiously at the quaint living room. Which appeared to be the only room. Which was occupied by twice the number of people and four times the number of limbs Paige was expecting. Ariel was asleep looking perfectly content and normal while some large spider-like monstrosity was wrapping itself around her. Paige reached down and tore her skin off to reveal hardened steel beneath it as she rushed forward intent on separating the strange creature from it's prey. |

It wasn’t until Bobby heard from Logan directly that it was okay to go out with Paige on some stuff she had to check up on, that he actually relaxed about going out. Since the meeting, they had the iced mutant tried very hard not to get on Kurt and Logan’s bad side. In all honesty, he only wanted to go out and hang out with Hart. Of course, he’d have to get special permission again and have her pick him up. He asked last time and it got him a dinner date with her. But this was business, at least that’s what Paige told him. He remembered the name of the former X-Student. Then again that was the kind of guy he was at the mansion, the kid who knew everyone even before they knew him. Then again, his reputation for being a jokester and a flirt was quickly heard of. But since Hart, even with other stuff happening behind the scenes with Doug and Kitty, she was all he wanted. As they crept along and got closer to the door, Bobby couldn’t stop himself when he hummed the theme for Secret Agent Man in a low tone. But when Paige started to pick the lock, he started to hum the theme for Mission Impossible. Before she opened the door the Iceman whispered, “Where’d you learn to pick a lock? Does Momma Guthrie know about this?” He jabbed lightly. When they entered, the icy mutant saw what Paige saw. “Holy creepy crawlers, Batman.” While Paige charged forward Bobby powered up, with a quick foom sound his flesh and blood turned to solid ice. Paige was wearing some steel skin, which was a smart move, who knew if Mr. Spiderman Mutant was the poisonous kind. Although she was charging with no warning. That spelt trouble. The Iceman tried to speak quickly to give off a proper warning, “Alright six eyes, back away from the girl.” He didn’t even think for a moment that the two would just be sleeping. |

He had surprised himself when he accepted the offer to sleep. Even worse was the fact that he had slept through the night. Subconsciously he could feel the warmth on his fine hairs, the air of her apartment breezing across them as well. Anansi was sleeping and his eyes were still, one of the few times that they were actually still. He could feel the proximity of the woman to him, through his arms being draped over her as well as her pressed against him. Never in all his life had someone even thought about him other than a science experiment. There was something oddly comfortable about having another body close to your own. Usually he was alone in his hammock that he had made, but that evening he had slept in actual sheets. God it felt so good to sleep in sheets. The linen seemed to en-wrap him in soft warmth and he loved the feel of it. As a stray ray of light cross his eye, he felt his consciousness stir to life. Just as he moved his eyes to look at the woman nestled into him. Smiling under his mandibles he stretched a little bit again feeling the soft linen over his legs. Hearing the sound of a tumbler being moved into place he shifted one of his eyes to the door just in time to see a woman and a man walk into the apartment. Immediately they powered up, one pulling her skin off and revealing metal, the other coating himself in an ice layer. Barely hearing the words the man uttered, he was already in motion. Thankfully his other arms weren't under Ariel, so he was able to quickly toss off the sheet and jump into the air. Twisting in mid air, he landed on the ceiling and stuck his highest set of arms pulling twin thin knives from along one set of his arms. He had put the finishing touches onto the almost completely invisible sheaths, and had fitted them with a pair of 6inch blades made of dual folded steel. His large eyes scanned the both of them from the ceiling and his fangs started to twitch and strike against each other, making a noise almost identical to a rattlesnakes tail. Hissing he spoke gruffly "I don't know who you are or what you are doing here, but you will not hurt her or me." Brandishing the knives he crouched upside down on the ceiling preparing to go into combat. |

The feeling of someone stretching next to her made her dreams slowly started to be replaced by consciousness and she smiled to herself her eyes still closed feeling him so near her. It had been so long since anyone hadn’t been much bothered by her cold and though she was sure he could clearly feel her chilling aura, she was glad that he didn’t seem to be bothered by it. She slowly took one of his hands in hers to tell him that she too was awake now, waiting for him to say or do something. She peeked out from underneath her eyelid to check on the time and closed them again mentally shaking her head at herself, she would usually have been up and about around 8.30 am, just to make sure she would enjoy all of her day off, but she was quite happy about having overslept for 1 and a half hour in her new mystical friend’s arms. She noticed some sound coming from somewhere around the front door or her bathroom, something that she recognized as a lock being unlocked, but that would be impossible. She only knew of one other than herself who had a key and that woman was off somewhere being a nurse with the X-men that Ariel had once hoped to become a part of. She slowly started to open her eyes, realizing that someone might be at the door and to her surprise the sight of Paige Guthrie, one of Lucy’s good friend’s whose codename was Husk and Bobby Drake, the one guy who somewhat knew how it was like to have powers like her and her former big-time hero and role model, whose codename was Iceman standing in her apartment powering up. Before she could react she felt Christian or as they would soon know him; Anansi, jump out of bed and she felt how the blissful moment of total relaxation and somewhat joy disappeared and she looked around a bit confused before jumping out of bed “Stop it!” she yelled out standing in front of Husk and Iceman and two arms held up to stop them from getting closer to her spider looking friend. “What the hell do you think you’re doing!? Barging in like this and scaring my guest!? Where the hell did you even get a key!? Was it Lucy!? I’m gonna ice her butt!” She said and felt how she started to turn the room colder second by second. Sure, it was embarrassing to have been found by Lucy’s friend and her own big time hero and role model (Okay, so she might have had a small teenage crush on him back at the institute – who hadn’t?) in such a situation. Ariel knew very well that it had looked bad, when in all honesty it had been quite innocent. She knew that they both had probably heard Lucy talk about how sexually ‘aware’ Danes were and was probably thinking the worst of her as they stood there. Ariel suddenly felt the embarrassment fill her up and her skin mixed with the red color of her blush and the blue of her skin, turned a radiant purple, “This… is not what it looks like. I can explain.” She tried to explain, starting to feel how the situation was as complicated as a spider web. |

Paige did a quick mental recap as she deftly maneuvered herself between the now ceiling mounted spider creature and the outraged ice girl. This was not how she planned to spend her morning. There had to be some way to fit all these pieces together into an understandable picture. We had here one spider creature, capable of both speech and the English language, so most probably a mutant. One Danish cryokenetic who Lucy had hinted at suffered from poor decision making skills. Herself, prepped for combat and Bobby Drake prepped as always for humor. She chided herself a little, partially regretting her actions and her haste in making judgments. However the spider monster then pulled some serious deadly looking weapons and shouted something in a very aggressive tone. A battle plan was firmly in place in the Kentuckian's mind in an instant. She motioned to Drake to force the spider to the ground while she provided cover for Ariel. Steel vs steel Husk could handle and truthfully she was looking forward to a fight. Logan had gotten under her skin more then she cared to admit. “Ariel! Stay behind me. You on the ceiling, drop the knives and come down slowly. We don't want anyone to get hurt but I won't hesitate if I have to.” The room was small but offered little in the way of cover. Depending on the creature's power set this could work to her advantage or provide him unparalleled attack angles. Robert's powers should balance it back out and take care of the unexpected. Ariel's words entered her ears but they seemed to lack any possible sense. Guest? Keys? Lucy? Was there someone else here that had already been attacked. “Where is your guest Ariel? We'll protect them as well.” |

The Spider dude, he just couldn’t bring himself to calling the guy ‘Spiderman’, that name was already taken, woke up and reacted to their entrance. Holding some seriously wicked blades. Then Ariel woke up and yelled at them, that had Bobby a little more than somewhat confused. Paige responded by laying out a plan and asking Ariel where her guest was. The Iceman stood behind, and looked at the situation. Paige wanted the icy mutant to attack the spider on the ceiling. He pieced it together pretty quickly. He wasn’t just a pretty face, “Umm… Paige… I think he is her guest.” He looked to Ariel and asked her, “Right?” After a moment he sighed and reached his solid iced hand to the back of his neck and spoke softly, “Well this is embarrassing.” Bobby held up his hands and took a step back while looking at the Spider dude on the ceiling. “Look let’s all just caaalm down. As a show of good faith,-“ He then muttered, “-Or sheer stupidity-“ He spoke in a normal tone once again, “I’m gonna power down… and let’s ya know, talk about it.” He powered down, slowly so the fast movements wouldn’t cause Mr. Creepy Crawler to get knife happy. “Okay… Ariel… Umm…” He tried to explain it to them so it would all make sense and they could have a nice quiet drink then laugh the situation away. But when his mind failed him for a good explanation that didn’t make the two of them seem like jerks he pointed to Paige and blurted out, “She made me come here. It’s her fault.” He spoke quick and accusatory towards Paige. He looked at Paige to see her reaction, “Don’t look at me, you totally made me come along.” He sounded like a little boy in trouble, trying to pass the buck. |

His eyes took in both of the people below him, one of the many looking at Ariel as she also jumped up and shouted at them. His fangs still twitched against each other just not as quickly as before. The eerie sound still echoed around the apartment as he felt the temperature of the air drop. One eye looked at Ariel and he could see her body temperature plummet. Soon it would get to cold for him to function, but before he need say anything he saw the red of a blush creep up her face. Hearing her words, he smiled slightly but it vanished quickly as he heard the steel woman's words. Anansi's fingers twitched around the knife handles as he waited for one of them to make the first move. As the ice covered man spoke that he was the guest, he focused his eyes on him. It seemed that this person was of a more sensible mind and that earned him a little credit in the spider's many eyes. Listening as he spoke, Anansi shifted his weight along his toes not sure what was going to happen next. It seemed to him that nothing was going to happen, but he didn't want to lower his guard just yet. As the other man powered down slowly letting the ice stop covering his body, Anansi eased down also. Now there was only the woman in steel that was threatening him. Though since the man had powered down he figured he might as well do the same. Sheathing the knives back along his arms, he crawled over to the wall making sure to keep above the two of them. As the man pointed to the steel woman and blamed her another smile split under his mandibles. Feeling like it was for Ariel to explain, he crouched quietly on the wall. |
