Mechanical Interaction/Merge
|
Madison stayed quiet as Lorna opened up. Quiet and very, very uncomfortable. Funny, how given his long line of work, with the colorful outfits and the flashy super powers and the fighting evil to save the world business... he never was comfortable with confrontation. In fact he loathed it. Avoided it at all costs. Was it too much to just wish that things were nice and easy and devoid of shouting? But he couldn't blame her for being upset. She was Mrs. Summers now. And that meant communication. That meant being open and honest with each other, and he couldn't fault her for being upset over being lied to. "O... okay, so... so no pain, that's... okay, that's good - I mean, just in case I can't get it to work on the right Skrull-only wavelength... I... I'd really rather not hurt people just because they can change shape..." he stammered, glancing over at Lorna and then back at Alex. The plan began to get into motion. And there was something up top that needed to be dealt with. Even though he really wasn't a hundred percent sure who or what "Pack" was. In all honesty, it sounded to him like an all-purpose utility storage device with artificial intelligence operating its surveillance systems... which wasn't a bad idea, now that he thought about it. The utility belt that watched your back. Portable Ammunition Container... K... K... K-something. File that one away for later. "Alright," he nodded his head in response to the plan as it was laid out. It made sense. "And... and I think I just might now how you could help... your shape shifting... like theirs... operates on an electro-chemical pulse system. Brain sends signals to the neurons, neurons fire off the information to the organs, things start rearranging." The wheels were turning. He made his way over to the storage cabinet and pulled out some adhesive electrodes attached to wires. "So... simply put... I'm gonna pose a theory here... and I know, I'm not the geneticist here, but... it's just a thought. You represent the specific electron wavelength that all human shape shifters operate on. We analyze that, compare and contrast it to the one the Skrulls work on..." They had their plan, and well, as the universe so often does, what seemed like a bad thing had become a gift. Madison Jeffries was going to figure out the last piece of the puzzle needed to expose all the Skrulls all over the world... And Mystique was going to help him figure it out. |

"Fine," she answered Alex, not as coldly as she intended to. It was hard to be mad at him, even in these circumstances. "We'll talk about it later." It wasn't that Mystique was there that irked her so much, Lorna had had her fair share of experiences with villians before. Some of them were even counted among her friends now. But the way Alex hid it, it pinged at something inside Lorna. It made her feels left out, like a child on the sidelines. And that was not something she was going to stand for, especially not with her husband. The plan was laid out. It all seemed to make sense to Lorna. These were trying times and, given the scope of what they knew about the situation, it seemed a good a move as any. "It's not a babysitter I think you need," Lorna spat back at Mystique, who had the nerve to once again put on the false face of a friend. "As much as a warden." "Be careful out there," she said to Alex with folded arms. She couldn't bring herself to open up, not fully, but she also couldn't let him go without the word. Lorna knew how quickly the worst could happen. She knew it all too well. She turned back to Box and Mystique. "Alright, let's get this done." |
