Electrokinesis / Cloned Origin
Continued from Insurgency

Jonny was still slightly out of sorts, from what had happened down with the skrulls in the Morlock tunnel but he was getting better. It helped that he was surrounded by people who loved and supported him, and it helped that his little sister had grown as much as she had. He'd regained his sense of humor, and his memory of his donor, the personality that he clung to keep himself from reverting back to that murderous weapon, but he hadn't returned to dreaming, and his immediate thoughts upon danger were still geared nearly directly into violence. Skrullterbrain had done a number on him, that scaly green bitch, but it wasn't the first time he'd had to reset. He always managed to recover from it, before, and he would recover from it again.

He and the others ran up to the roof, and Jon wasn't even out of breath when he got up there, because he was genetically built to the peek of human ability. But what he saw on the rooftop was enough to take his breath away. Logan, frozen solid, claws extended, mid leap. "Jesus," he said, "I had no idea that Bobbles could do something like this with his powers. If that was anyone else... they'd be dead." He looked at Laura, "If these creatures can use our powers better than we do, that's very concerning." There was a slight sign of his recovery, the almost dead way he addressed something of great importance.

Putting his radio up to his mouth, Jonny looked up at the hovering Skrull armada and he called, "Alex, this is Jon. I'm on the roof, we really need up here. Logan's in a bad way."

He went to the frozen man and said, "Laura, we need to get him down to whatever their medical is in here, and barring that, we can use his bedroom. He should probably be lying down."

Wolverine-Girl
X-23 followed Volt up to the roof, keeping pace with him easily, yet always half a step behind. He was still not quite himself after what had happened during the underground fight and she did not want to watch him as if he were going to revert once more, but if he did… Yet when they hit the roof, all such thoughts left her and the feral clone froze to the spot, staring at Wolverine who was frozen in place, showing no signs of life.

Her hands began to shake and her pupils shrank to the size of a pinhead as she continued to stare, before dilating wide once more. Above her, the thrum of the ships became a distant whisper as a roaring filled her ears and the sound of her own heart pounding.

“Kill…I will kill him!” Laura’s breathing came hard as she started to see red, overwhelmed by a staggering wave of emotions. Not many years ago, she had wanted to kill Logan; what she knew about her origins led her to the conclusion that her existence was his fault. It had been incredibly difficult for her to grasp and then come to terms with not only his existence, but her own.

Whirling around, the girl’s claws on her right hand shot out and she brought them down upon a handrail, slashing it to pieces with an animalistic scream of rage. About to strike again, she staggered back, the wild look still in her eyes, as she heard Volt speak.

“Yes…Down. Yes,” X-23 rasped, her breathing slowing down gradually and the roar in her ears dissipating. As she calmed, the dark haired clone became aware once more of the city and what surrounded them, namely the ships in the sky but even as she retracted her claws, the girl’s hands still shook. “When he wakes, he will be dangerous. I would be the same,” her words were a blunt warning and left at that, but she knew that Volt would require no elaboration. He knew what it was like.

From Abandon All Hope...

The explosion of sulfurous violet and black smoke radiated from a spot on the roof. Shoulders sagged, his feet spread, arms hanging limply. Even through the white gloves of his hands, the blows he had delivered had drawn blood. It wasn't just Yez'led's either, but also his owns, the abrasive assaults grazing away the layer of skin on his knuckles.

Yellow eyes -- eye, rather, one of them swollen shut from the brutal kick delivered to his head -- looked across the rooftop. Jonny and Laura, Logan's 'daughter' as Kurt liked to refer to her as, were standing near the frozen structure. Even after the sun had warmed the rooftop, Logan remained frozen, the chilling powers of Iceman keeping him locked in a feral pose, claws swinging through the air eternally.

"It is done," Kurt said flatly, feeling strangely cold here compared to where he had just come from. "I have dealt with the one posing as Bobby temporarily. Later..."

He hung on that last word, looking between them. Later, someone would have to finish it. He could not commit such a crime again. Worse for ware, Kurt was still standing, and with the ominous ships still hovering over the city, he could not afford to yield to defeat just yet. There were things to be done.

"I can take him down for you both," Kurt offered, tentatively setting his hand on the cold ice. Somehow, the frigid solid was comforting, his body still regulating back to normal temperatures. "To his room. I would rather him cut his sheets than the medical room. But, walk... if you would. I grow tired."

Yet again, Kurt teleported. This time he took the Wolverine with him, leaving behind as much of the ice as he safely could leave without also abandoning any of Logan's limbs. Both reappeared down in the Worthington housing, in Logan's room, and by the time anyone would come Kurt was seated on the end of the bed, a digit stroking the silver cross beneath his uniform. He doubted Logan would notice a few blood stains on the floor that might have dripped.

Superheated Plasma Blasts
Alex was halfway up the stairs to the roof when Jon called him to change direction had head out to Wolverine's room. He had an unusual friendship with Logan, which was not at all surprising considering that they both had extremely complicated relationship with Scott. He was a difficult man to understand, but Logan wasn't so hard, mostly because Logan didn't need to be understood. What he was, he was, and he let you know that's what he was. Scott bottled up emotion, dispensed with praise reluctantly, and prided himself on control. Logan let you know what he was thinking, knew the value of a good word, and allowed himself the luxury of surrendering to the beast now and then. Alex liked Logan, a lot, and when he headed into the man's bedroom to see what he could do for him, what he saw was horrible.

"Holy shit," he swore, as he hunched over the frozen form on the bed, "Kurt, are you sure he's... even alive?" Alex looked over at Kurt, but then he looked back down at Logan, placing on hand on the man's frozen chest, he said, "I can't guarantee that this is going to help him any, but I will give it a try." He shook his head, "This is the most controlled I have ever had to get, so this is going to be fun."

Fingers splayed out on the victim of the icy imposter, Alex began to filter his powers directly into Logan. He felt every frozen cell in the man's body, warming them piece by piece. His abilities were to collect ambient radiation from the world around him and to create immense heat. All that heat he was capable of generating brought Logan's temperature up slowly, carefully monitored. "C'mon, Logan, you sonavbich," Alex muttered, "C'mon Old Man give me a response here."

And, it seemed to be working, the ice melting from him, his arms falling back into rest.

"Logan!" Alex called, again, "Quit laying down on the job. We need you, Logan, the world needs you."
