Wolf Form
|
"C'Mon, ye bloody bastard..." Wolfsbane grumbled through grit fangs as she continued to fire for all she was worth at the Juggernaut. She was lucky that she was inhumanly strong, or otherwise, the kick from this weapon and what was most assuredly an improper technique would have caused her to drop the weapon by now and nurse a severely bruised arm. The shockwave leveled right at her, though, did cause her to drop it as she was sent reeling, tumbling over and landing on her back. "Guh..." Wolfsbane grunted as she struggled to stand back up. The stab wound in her side, the various other cuts she'd gotten from Wild Child, and the strike that took her down to the ground were adding up. The mask being tossed to her was the first thing she noticed. The hazy aura around the SHIELD Agents' heads was next. A weary smile crossed her lips as she managed to stand. They were saved. By one of the last people Rahne had expected to show up. Xi'An Coy Manh. Karma. Thanks to the lockdown, Rahne hadn't heard from her friend in months. She didn't know that Karma had come back out of retirement, returned from Chicago. And now here she was, apparently having seen her fair share of action already. But there was no time to think about that. Wolfsbane's eyes widened as she saw it happening in slow motion. Juggernaut's massive hands reeled back, and began closing in on each other. Didn't take a genius to figure out what was going to happen next. "Sarah!" she couldn't bring herself to bother with code names right now, as she dove in front of her teammate - who, as hard as Wolfsbane had had it out here, Marrow had it worse. She wrapped her arms around the lavender-skinned woman, shielding her from the shockwave blast with her own body. All of the horror from before, with the Brood, with watching her friend die a horrible, agonized death only to be replaced with a monster... none of it mattered when it came down to the wire. The shockwave stung like a whip crack as it struck her in the back, but she did not let go. She twisted in mid-air, landing as best she could on her own feet. She managed to stay on her right foot, but her left knee dropped. ::Och, Dani, the two o' you are a sight f'r sore eyes,:: Rahne thought back to her friend, and she couldn't help but wag her tail rapidly back and forth. She spared one last glance to the fallen form of the Juggernaut, and sneered. Such a smug son of a bitch. Served him right to have his brain fried, even if he was under Skrull influence. "C'Mon, Sarah, let's get movin'," Rahne said as she stood on shaky legs, helping Marrow up as best as she could. |

JP Marrow and Karma The time bought by Rahne, and then by Moonstar and the chick who used to run the library had given her time enough to piece her insides back together in a functional manner, and as Rahne hoisted her to her feet, a series of protesting cracks ushered forth from within as thing broke themselves in, so to speak. The Juggernaut, cradling his head as he went down, let out a groan before slumping to the ground. Danielle asked if she was mobile and Marrow nodded with a grunt of pain as she pulled herself away from Rahne. Sore, but healed, she wiped drying blood from her face and nodded. "I'm good." As the green haze from above began to permeate into the street, orange eyes, glowing beneath that horned rack sprouting from her forehead peered back at the agents Karma was holding down. Six of them were shaking and shirinking down, their visible skin going green and then gray. "Told them... My sniffer don't lie when it comes to these fuckin' skuzoids." Marrow shook the pain off, something she was used to doing, had been used to doing her entire life, and moved in a quick but stumbling gait with the others. "Havok is on his way to Box's office to try to get Box's de-skrullifier working." Karma said as they moved through the streets. "There really isn't a safe place to go, but I figure we should get to Worthington Towers in case he needs backup. Dani filled me in about whats going on the the air." She wanted to just sit down. Her arm was sore, her head was foggy, even more-so now that it was split up between a good dozen others, and she just generally hurt all over. She wanted to go home. There was so much more to hear, but first, there was so much more to do. "I think we might be winning!" She forced out. Marrow stopped short, then, as if some hidden memory had suddenly slapped her in the face. Looking to the rest of them as she ran along with them, she shook her head. "I gotta go. I'll catch up." Sniffing at the air she veered off from the rest of them, ducking between a set of buildings, padding to a stop and looking to a sewer grate in the ground. Were they to follow her, they'd only find an empty alley with a abyss leading to the undercity at its center. |
