Cryokinesis
Time: In start of thread; 6 PM. At party; 7 PM
Date: 31’st of August

Excitement buzzed through the small apartment owned by a cryokinetic, as she ran through the living room that was also her bedroom to find the clean clothes she had picked out, trying to figure out exactly what she wanted to wear that evening. Tonight wasn’t just any night out in town, no; this night was something special, to her at least. Tonight was the night that she was finally going to celebrate her birthday – though it was about two months ago and the night that she was finally going to see a lot of her old acquaintances again. Special people in her life, that she hadn’t really seen, since before the Purifier attack and that just added to her excitement and expectations that tonight was going to be absolutely amazing.

She looked at the top she was holding in her hands and frowned, it wasn’t good enough for tonight, tonight she didn’t want to ‘good looking’, no she wanted herself to be stunning for and show her old acquaintances how far she had come and how she had adapted to her life, living alone in Mutant Town and working for X-Corp. But their first date, considering that he had taken time off away from his duties with the Morlocks to be with her tonight. But she didn’t want to look too unprofessional as she had also invited her colleagues to this joyful occasion. She grabbed a hold of a pair of pants and smiled satisfied; they were perfect. She slipped into them and looked at herself – as good as she possibly could. This was going good, she had now gotten so far as to deciding what kind of underwear to wear – not that anyone would see it, but the point was that she felt good in it – and she had figured out what kind of pants she wanted to wear. Now she only had to figure out what top she wanted, how her hair was going to be and how she wanted her make up.

An hour later

Ariel stood in the middle of the big room that she had rented for this occasion in Mutant Town; there was a bar where one of her friends had volunteered to play the bartender for the night, snacks and food on a log table alongside a wall, a stereo, a dance floor and it was just simply perfect to her. She was standing and laughing with a few people that had showed up and though she knew a few people still hadn’t shown up and some had still to be greeted by her. But that didn’t concern her much, the thing that meant something to her was that everyone was enjoying themselves instead of dwelling in what has happened to the world many months ago or be concerned about what to do with the rebuilding.

“Will you guys excuse me? I have some things to say.” She said and smiled as she walked past her friends and over to the microphone that was hooked up to the speakers all over the room. She tapped twice on it and hesitantly said; “Hello?” in it causing it to make a loud squeaking noise that had most people cover their ears, including herself. “Well, now that I have everybody’s attention.” She grinned into it and looked over the familiar faces. “I want to thank everybody for coming to celebrate my birthday and life itself. Please make sure that you all have a good time, drink, eat and socialize as much as possible with people you may not know, old friends and people you may not have spoken to that much.” She said and felt a bit conscious about standing there with people’s eyes upon her. “I want to say a special thank you to everyone here. You have been a part of making my stay here in the USA an amazing experience; back when I came here I was confused and frightened over the huge culture difference, but you’ve all been kind to me and helped me adjust. And that’s why I’m proud to announce to all of you, that I’m staying, here, forever. I’m not going back to Denmark to live.” She said and took a deep breath, “Now, all of you! Enjoy yourself and thank you for coming!” she turned off the microphone and hurried into the midst of the crowd to find a few people to greet and talk to.

Present? Check.

Alright. i Think I'm ready. It's going to be an interesting night fers ure. Been a long time since I've seen Ariel, wonder what she's like now...

Sean was dressed for a party, blue open necked shirt, khaki slacks, brown lether jacket, brown loafers. yup, that was hew he rolled. To
Sean, it was both professional and comfortable attire, something that he was able to have fun in and still look good. He brushed his hair one last time, smoothing it out and looking at himself in the mirror, smiling at his reflection, which smiled back. He was here to celebrate his former star student's birthday, but also to check up on her alittle. She hadn't spoken much to him since she'd left his classroom, and Sean was mildly curious as to what she was generally up to these days. Maybe it was a teacher thing, but he wanted to know that he'd made an impact on her life, whether positive or negative. He hoped that she was doing better. The last time he'd seen her, she'd still been learning to control her powers; she'd still be acting out and being "difficult" so much so that she'd been a regular in his detention sessions. But, Ariel had eventually turned it around, with a few words of advice and some common ground between them, and she'd proven herself quite the student. She had really just needed someone she could identify with and for her, that was Sean.

Sean considered himself ready and grabbed his keys, locking up the temporary room he was staying at and heading off into Mutant Town to had to her party. He flew there, naturally. Upon landing, Sean brushed himself off, glanced at his watch, seeing that was around 7 o'clock, and headed inside. Once inside, he looked around. There were quite a few people that he knew, there was a bar with drinks and things set up. I guess she wants me to play barkeep fer the night. Fine by me. and there was a table with various snacks and such. he set the white envelope, which contained his gift, on the table with the rest of the presents, and decided to first go greet his Ariel. He noticed that she got up next to a mike, and though it squeaked loudly, Sean didn't mind. He was one of the only ones who did not cover their ears. To Sean, it was just an odd frequency, frankly he could make his voice do that, if he wnated to. But, regardless, he listened to Ariel's speech and studied her as she spoke. My, had she changed.

She confident, poised, composed...she made it look like she had everything together up there and Sean was quite proud of that. She turned out pretty well, in his estimation. When she finished speaking, Sean began to head in her direction, to be one of the first to greet her and generally make chit chat with her, wishing her a happy birthday, in the process, of course. As he made hi way though the crowd, Sean was smiling. He finally reached Ariel and held and held out his hand for a handshake, pulling out a small notebook with a pen attached to it.

He spoke to her,"Ariel! It's been forever since we last spoke. Happy Birthday! How have ye been? What have ye been up to? Givin' speeches now are ye? Well, can I have yer autograph? So, wonderful party ye got here, thank ye fer invitin' me. I couldn't help but notice that ye had a pretty full bar over there, were ye thinkin' that I was gonin' to go back there and play barman fer ye? Or did ye have someone else in mind?" he kept the warm smile on his face and the warm tone in his voice. Sean was grateful to spend a night celebrating. After all the crazy things and sadness that enveloped his life. Some happy moments were needed to wash it all away.

Whether he tended bar or not, tonight was about having fun, and wishing Ariel the best birthday ever.

Anansi knew that her birthday celebration was today and he was looking forward to going out. Having gotten the information of where and when the party was going to take place he immediately started looking for a gift for her. He had eventually found a nice picture frame that she could put a nice picture in. Now all he needed was a decent pair of clothes. Though as far as finding decent things, there wasn't really any luck. Especially for him with his arms, it was incredibly difficult to find something nice. Though in his searches he did manage to find a simple black t-shirt and a pair of black shorts. Anansi had just shaved his head so the hairs on his head were just the ones that were his ears and nose. He always felt better when he didn't have much of his regular hair since it seemed to get in the way from time to time.

Thankfully he didn't have to go very far, the meeting hall being in Mutant Town. Having crawled out of the sewer with his gift wrapped in newspaper, since he couldn't afford any actual paper Anansi headed towards the hall. Pulling open the door he slipped inside already hearing the amount of people gathered. Stepping into the hall he got looked at a few times, many people surprised to see him here. Someone even asked him if he was in the wrong place. Placing his gift on the table with the rest, Anansi intermingled with the crowd.

It wasn't long before Ariel took to the small stage to address the crowd gathered. Pausing with a shrimp roll in his hand and a few other things on his plate, his eyes focused on her beautiful form. She had picked beautiful clothes and they complimented her blue beautifully. He listened to her as she spoke about staying in the United States permanently, choosing to focus on her job and career. When she finished, he made to go talk to her but instead let her go see everyone else that she had come to see. Looking around he really didn't notice many people, in fact he was probably the odd man out, everyone else knowing people and him not knowing many except for Ariel. Shrugging he sat at a table and took a bite of the sandwich he had grabbed.
