This is a reminder to all members that while we love the fact so many of our cbox regulars are welcoming and helpful to guests, that there is a line sometimes and people need to be careful about not crossing it. Please remember that while we appreciate people helping with guiding towards links, any detailed questions must be left to staff, unless the player of a potential canon is talking to the player of a related canon. This is to stop any crossed wires or mistakes happening, when the member simply meant to be helpful. Staff members cannot be around every minute, but ultimately it is still up to them how to direct an applicant, barring canon relations. Similarly, when a staff member is talking a guest, please allow them to deal with it. We’ve also noticed members becoming a little overexcited around guests so we’d like if this was dialled back a little – remember the cbox is often the first impression a new member gets of the site. Even when there isn’t anyone needing help, members need to respect staff authority as well as each other, as we’re seeing a dip in that right now. The cbox is a privilege; it is not strictly moderated as some sites and it is a place where we can all hang out and have fun. But, the fun is taken out of things when a very, very small number of people act out and take away this enjoyment, by bringing the mood down. It isn’t a constant thing and we do not want it to be a constant thing either. Let’s keep XMR the best side of its kind, in all areas. |
