January 14th, 1pm Walking down the streets in Mutant Town, Anansi glanced around at all the people that were out and about. Sticking his hands into the modified pouch of his hoody, he was impressed with all that had happened to his area. While he had been in the old city underground with the rest of the Morlocks. Healing and helping to get Nathan back from Sugar-Man were the main goals of the spider. His eyes had grown back with some confusion and his arms had grown back relatively quickly. Once he had gotten himself and his friends set up in their new home for now, Anansi had taken to exploring the area. Finding the best exit to the surface, he had made many trips for materials and goods as well as just walking around mutant town. Today the weather was a little cold, about 2F, which to the Canadian was nothing. A hoody and a toque was what adorned him, along with a pair of sweats. He didn't mind being partly deaf due to mainly not wanting to get to cold, though that thought itself made him think of Ariel. He hadn't seen her in almost 3 months, since so many things had been happening that he hadn't been able to go and see her. Sighing that created a frost cloud in the air in front of him, Anansi turned a corner and headed towards the marketplace. Stopping at a coffee stand, he ordered a hot chocolate and a cookie before continuing on his way. While he walked he let his thoughts wander to Ariel. He wondered how she was doing, how her life was and if she had met anyone in his absence. While they were seeing each other quiet often, they had never really been considered a couple and so Anansi pondered what would happen if they were to meet now. Sipping his chocolate under his mandibles he stopped at a vendor to look at some intriguing jewelry and baubles. |

Ariel walked down the streets in frustration over everything that seemed to be happening. Everything was always changing, nothing stayed the same for more than a few months if even that. Her powers were changing getting stronger but still more difficult for her to adapt to, her body had been protesting to her life style though now it seemed to be feeling better, they had fought against super evil aliens, fought giant stupid sea pests, a giant monster that had almost killed her and now it seemed like more trouble were on their way with Moonbeam being all… different. No, life certainly didn’t stay the same and the Danish girl looked up at the sky having never felt more alone than she did right at that moment. She stopped where she stood and looked at the manly people rushing by her looking at her as if she was more of a freak that what should be allowed. True, Ariel was covered in icy blue skin standing in big contrast to her red hair. It wasn’t like she blended in and she was used to the stares, but that wasn’t exactly why people were looking at her that way. It was because she was wearing shorts and a top outside in the cold. More than one person had come up to her and asked if she’d like their coat and help to get a cap thinking that she was blue because she was cold. In those situations Ariel could do nothing but to smile and decline explaining her condition, which in some cases had people get angry and some seemed interested in knowing more. After having been standing there for a bit just lost in her thoughts a guy bumped into her and she realized she was standing in the way of the people around her and she started walking again. Being an obvious mutant wasn’t always easy, but it wasn’t all that bad either. People tried to give her space enough to walk without bumping into everyone, but she also couldn’t just blend in with the crowd and be invisible. There was only one obvious mutant who could somehow make himself disappear in a crowd of people that she knew of. A frown came upon her lips as her thoughts went to him, the guy she had been dating for a while before he suddenly stopped showing up and she moved away from her old apartment. It had now been about three months since she had seen him and she didn’t even know if they were still dating. Even if they were, it didn’t mean he didn’t see other girls they hadn’t been a couple, after all. Turning around a corner heading towards the market, Ariel thought about what she’d do if she saw him again at some point. Would she hug him? Kiss him? Slap him? Would she be angry, relieved, sad or everything at once? Then came the sad question, would she ever see him again? Was she supposed to move on now and start going out and meet guys? Did she even want to? All those questions were flying through her mind as she walked through the market place looking and different things. No matter what happened, she knew she’d get through it. After all, she had gone through three months missing him but still being able to live her life to the fullest. Not paying attention to what she looked at or where she went, Ariel bumped into a person drinking what smelled like hot chocolate. “Oh, I’m so sorry! Did you spill that over yourself sir?” she asked looking at the guy’s clothes and nothing else. |

Looking at the trinkets that the vendor had, Anansi was relatively distracted. Call it a curse of being a spider. Shiny things always seemed to get his attention, and he could understand why. Apart of his mutation was unfortunately the shiny attention span that drew the eyes of spiders and other insects. Sipping his hot chocolate, Anansi looked at them and thought of one that would look really nice around Ariel's neck. Though before he could do anything someone bumped into him spilling his hot chocolate all over. Thankfully none got on his clothes as he was holding it far enough away from him that none spilt on him. "No I'm ok, good thing I am fast enough to avoid spills," he said as he looked up at the person. As he did all words fell from his mouth. It was Ariel, the exact woman that he had just been thinking about. She looked exactly the same, well sort of. Her hair was a little longer and it framed her face beautifully. Her skin had the same hue from before, and he was in awe of it. "Ariel, is that you?" he asked as he turned to look at her. He would admit that he didn't really usually wear clothes, but this was a unique case. Pulling his hat back abit from his eyes he pulled the modified sleeves from his jacket and embraced her in a hug. "Oh my god, I am so happy to see you," he said as he pulled back to arms length "I'm so sorry I wasn't able to see you. There was so much stuff going on in the sewers that I couldn't get away. How are you? How have things been in your life? You're looking amazing." Standing back he let her catch her breath. He figured that it would be a bit of a shock to see him after all this time and he didn't even know how she was going to react to him. |

Ariel looked up recognizing the voice of the guy who she had bumped into. She looked into the familiar eyes of the spider guy she had been thinking about. Had she summoned him here with her mere thoughts? That would be so awesome if she had, though she doubted it. A question was asked and she was pulled into a hug while she was still getting over the surprise of suddenly running into him and it wasn’t until she was in his arms that his question got through to her. “Seriously? How many other red haired girls with insanely ice cold blue skin have you been making kissy faces with?” she asked sarcastically not really knowing how else to respond. She looked at him as he started talking as if they were old childhood friends who hadn’t seen each other for years. Were they really that distant now? Was that how he saw them? She blinked a bit and gathered her thoughts as it seemed like he was awaiting an answer, “I… I’m happy to see you too…” she started out looking around at the people staring at the big spider who had just grabbed a hold of the blue girl and she rolled her eyes. How rude could people be? They would either think she was being attacked and wouldn’t help her or they thought they were friends and wouldn’t give them privacy. She looked back up at him and raised her hand slapping him hard in the chest. “You need a goddamn cellphone!” she said and her eyes started to get more radiant blue feeling the anger towards the guy growing. She ran her hand through her hair a bit frustrated about the whole situation and looked up at him with lost eyes “How do you think I am? The guy I’ve been dating stops showing up to our scheduled dates and he doesn’t even come visit. Freaking crabs attack the city and I almost got killed by a giant kraken or something and still I was more worried about you than anything else.” She shook her head, “And the only thing you can come up with is ‘how are you’ and ‘you look amazing’?” She knew she was just letting all her emotions convert into anger and suddenly she couldn’t help herself. She grabbed a hold of his jacket and pulled him into a hug with her and she placed her head between his chest and neck. “I missed you…” |

Anansi just stood and looked at the beautiful woman that he had missed so much it hurt. When he posed her question to him, he flinched a little bit at how true it was. Since he hadn't been able to come see her, he hadn't stopped thinking about her. Truthfully she as the only one that saw him as a person and not just a spider and he was truly thankful for that. Standing there looking like an idiot, Anansi still held the empty hot chocolate cup in one of his hands as his eyes studied her. He could see the emotions that crossed her features and as soon as he saw anger he knew he was in trouble. Her words of being happy to see him, made him smile under his mandibles before he cringed. When she looked back up to him and drew back her hand, he flinched prepared to be slapped across his mandibles, but instead it connected with his chest. While he was covered in a type of exoskeleton, the cold from the slap still emanated through his system. It was like taking a dip in a freezing river, the cold ran through his body to all his limbs and everywhere at once. The slap left a bright ice tinged handprint on his hoodies front as he stood there shivering on the inside. "I kknow I need a cellphone," he said to her his teeth inadvertently chattering "though reception would be hard to get." He more than deserved her anger, in the months that he hadn't been able to see her he could have least sent her a message, but he had even failed in that. So he stood there and took her angry words and when she made the comment about giant crabs attacking the city he gaped at her. 'Giant crabs?' he thought 'just what the hell have I been missing since I've been down in the sewers? Man I have missed alot.' Anansi knew that her anger was well deserved and so he stood there looking ashamed or as ashamed as a human spider can. As soon as her anger vanished however, he found himself being pulled into a hug with her head resting on his chest. "I've missed you to, more than you can ever know," he said as he hugged her back "We have a lot to talk about it seems. Do you want to go somewhere and talk things out? Maybe get a coffee or something? Though if not I understand." |

Ariel had spent every night at her old apartment looking at her open window, hoping that he would show up and crawl into bed and just hold her in his arms all night. She had done the same at her new apartment hoping that somehow he’d find her. She had hoped that he had looked for her. That he hadn’t forgotten her, but as she stood there looking at him, she didn’t know whether to believe that he had spent a lot of time thinking about her or if he had simply forgotten. She suddenly felt hollow inside realizing that there was a possibility that the time they had spent together meant nothing to her, had she really allowed herself to fall for a guy like that? Staring at the handprint on his chest and seeing him shiver did make her feel bad. She didn’t like how her powers worked sometimes and even less did she like how they made him feel. But he was still standing there; he could easily have walked away from her. He could also have easily avoided her slap, he had sharp reflexes and her speed couldn’t compare to his. “Sorry…” she mumbled once her head was resting on his chest trying to make sure that her aura and body wasn’t below 5 degrees Celsius. “I don’t care if you’d have bad reception, it’s not like we’d text twenty-four-seven… But a message now and then would have been nice. A way for you to show me you’re not dead… or worse… have forgotten me…” "I've missed you to, more than you can ever know," Ariel closed her eyes and hid her face into his chest repeating those words in her head. No, he definitely wasn’t the kind of guy to lie for her and of course their time had meant something for him. But one question kept pushing in her mind and she finally lifted her head and looked up at him “Then why didn’t you come look for me? Why are you here at the market and not out there searching for where I could be?” of course him being right here meant they had run into each other, but that was definitely and utterly by accident. She was usually never down here. "We have a lot to talk about it seems. Do you want to go somewhere and talk things out? Maybe get a coffee or something? Though if not I understand." Ariel had to hide a smug smile and shook her head, “No. I don’t want to go get coffee with you.” She said and looked dead serious at him as if she was refusing him. “I can’t drink coffee any longer, or tea. I can’t drink any hot stuff or eat warm food… It made me sick. I moved into a special apartment for my conditions at the X-Factor buildings… And while they built it for me I was living at my work’s walk in freezer… a bit awkward being late for work when you sleep there.” She smiled retrieving her sense of humor again. “But I would like to go get you a coffee and me some ice tea.” |

There were so many things that he wanted to say to her, and he knew none of them would make her feel any better. He knew that he had screwed up and he would have to work hard to make her feel for him again. Just holding her close to him, feeling her familiar cold made him feel connected to her again. It was comforting to have her in his arms, her head on his chest. At the comment of the cellphone thing, he just smiled to himself. "Yeah you're right, its strange to see me being the only one not having a phone or a way to reach you," he said as he held her "and I didn't forget you at all, not one bit." When she asked him why he didn't come and look for her, he stopped and thought of what to say. He knew that the truth would eventually come out and there was no stalling it. "The reason that I didn't come looking for you is because I honestly couldn't. I was busy healing and getting back to normal," he said as he looked down at her "though I think the rest of the story wold be better told somewhere warmer." Pulling back he looked down into her blue face and smiled under his mandibles. Anansi was genuinely happy to see Ariel despite the fact that she was angry at him right now. As Ariel told him that she wasn't able to eat or drink any thing warm now and had to live in a chilled apartment, Anansi felt really bad for her. "I'm sorry to hear that you can't live in a regular apartment, though I'm happy that you're feeling better," he said as he let her go "and yeah I could see how being late for work would be funny if you were sleeping there. So shall we head to the coffee shop? I know a decent place that makes great ice tea." Holding one of her hands in his he stood there and looked down at the woman he could possibly end up calling his girlfriend. |

Ariel nodded and looked really guilty as she looked into her face ”If we are… to keep dating… We need to find you a way to contact me when shit is going down.” She said and looked down again feeling so bad about giving him an ultimatum like that. “I just… can’t deal with this. First the freaking aliens and now you something else… We need options Christian. We need ways to deal with these things and let each other know we’re okay.” She tried to explain to him and placed her hand on her heart “I can’t take another three months not knowing what is going on. I really thought you were dead and it scared me so much that I started hoping you had just moved on. And that hurt me even more.” She revealed to him and looked around at all the staring people “What!? Haven’t you all seen a giant spider have a conversation with a blue lady!?” she yelled out and people seemed so shocked that they started to do other things again. “Let’s get out of here.” As they walked she bit her lip holding his hand, intertwining her fingers into his, she didn’t mind people staring, not anymore. Holding his hand in hers, walking down the street like normal people, it was all that mattered to her. “So… you were busy healing… shit of obviously going down. What happened?” she asked as they walked towards the coffee shop that he wished to go to. “But… that doesn’t explained why you’re here and not out there looking for me now that you’re okay again.” She said feeling more and more like some sort of detective looking for every single detail in all of it. No matter what he answered, she knew she’d forgive him. She knew she couldn’t stay mad at him, but that didn’t mean she didn’t want the truth. She stepped inside the door to the shop and shrugged “It’s not that bad. I mean… yeah, it took a lot to adjust to, but Dr. McTaggert has been really helpful in the process. I need to talk to my superior about it soon though… There’s a rumor going on at work that he’s quite upset that I didn’t go to him with this. Fact is, he intimidates me.” She chatted away as if this was one of their normal dates and that they hadn’t been separated at all. |

As Ariel spoke about how they were supposed to keep dating he would have to find a way to communicate with her. The ultimatum that she gave him was all together new to the spider. He had never had someone do that to him and it broke his heart to realize that he had put that much pain on someone. "Yeah going another three months would put a huge strain on anyone, though it doesn't help the fact that we are so far apart in living locales and groups," he said as he stood there and rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment. Anansi had been noticing the people gathering nearby to listen to the two of them and he didn't doubt that Ariel would make a scene and indeed she did as she turned and screamed at them. As they walked through the market hand in hand as if nothing was wrong, the two of them headed in the direction of the cafe. Walking like this almost made them seem normal but it would be very hard point to get back to that point. "Yeah I was busy healing and burying my friends. We were attacked by an old enemy of Callisto called Sugar-Man and about ninety percent of us were killed or taken away," he said somberly still linking hands with hers "there are about twenty of us left. We are living with X-Factor now and are just trying to restablish ourselves. Many of us have been in shell shock. Callisto had also disappeared and I was left in charge. That is mainly the reason that I didn't come looking for you. Actually this is the first time that I have come to the surface at all, or any time to myself at all." As they walked into the cafe, Anansi held the door open for Ariel like a gentleman would. He listned to her talk about how her powers had changed how she lived and he suddenly had a thought. "So does that mean I can't stay over for visit anymore?" he said sounding kinda cheesy "I really enjoyed our cuddle times." Taking a seat he took off the coat and flexed his arms. "He intimidates you? Pfft, you'll do fine. If anyone can talk some sense into him it's you. You don't take crap from anyone." |

Ariel looked up at him and bit her lower lip to stop the tears from coming up, “Christian, we knew it’d be hard from the beginning. We knew we wouldn’t be able to see each other as much as we wanted and we accepted that. Our living conditions haven’t changed and that’s not the problem. The problem is that we might get in trouble and might disappear for a while.” She looked down at their hands as she knew she couldn’t keep the tears back if she looked at him, “I’m willing to live with that, I really like you… I just need us to work on a way to keep in contact so we can inform each other we’re fine. Maybe we can talk to my boss about some technology? Or we can try out a phone and see just how bad the reception will be…” She felt like his words meant that he was giving up and she could feel the desperation coming up in her. “I just need to know we’ll try.” Listening to what had happened Ariel couldn’t help it this time. She let the tears fall silently from her cheeks, feeling the grief and sorrow that Anansi must have held inside. She gave his hand a reassuring squeeze and once he stopped talking she stopped walking and looked up at him. “There’s nothing I can say or do to make it better. I know those people were more than your colleagues or friends… they were your family and losing my own family is my greatest nightmare. I can’t pretend to know how you’re feeling, but I’m deeply and truly sorry.” She told him and pulled him into a hug. “I am so sorry for hitting you and thinking the worst. You didn’t deserve it at all. Can you forgive me?” she asked not knowing what else to say. She felt horrible, she felt like a very bad person who didn’t deserve him at all. But she knew she was way too selfish to let him go and she hoped he wouldn’t push her away. She knew how she felt about him and though she still hadn’t gathered the courage to tell him, it was being shouted loudly inside of her mind; ‘I’m in love with you’. Stepping inside she thanked him for holding the door, it was the little things he did that made her sure of her feelings. But the surer she got, the more frightened she felt as well. What if he didn’t feel the same? What if she was making an idiot out of herself? What if everything was lost? What if she had ruined it by the way she had let her anger treat him? She looked up at him as he asked if he’d be able to stay with her and how he had enjoyed their cuddle times and her features softened greatly. “Of course you can still stay over for visit. We can just turn up for the temperature, one night won’t kill me.” She explained and sat down by a table reaching over to hold his hand “I really enjoyed those times too. Made me feel warmer than I have for years.” She chuckled suddenly feeling unsure of how much she should reveal of her feelings. “I’d really like it… if we didn’t stop having those nights…” she mumbled quietly. Ariel couldn’t help but to laugh loudly as he made the comment about how she didn’t take crap from anyone. She looked warmly at him and shook her head “That’s one of the things I love about you Christian. You see my flaws as a sign of strength.” She cleared her throat realizing what she had said, kicking herself for knowing that he wouldn’t see anything different by how she talked and only she did because she knew how she felt about him. How could she be so pathetic? “The truth is, if he said jump I’d ask how high. He’s not… Hartley. He’s so intelligent, so old and he knows way more about life than I’ll ever understand.” |

Anansi stood and let her hug him as he finished explaining what had happened to the Morlocks. It was a terrible event and nothing could bring back his friends, and family members. Her sympathy was appreciated and as she hugged him, he returned the hug. The next thing that came out of her mouth surprised him. She was asking for forgiveness for hitting him and thinking the worst. "I can definitely say that we will try to make this work. I can't think of anyone else that would want to stick with a person like me and yet here you are doing it freely," he said as he let go and looked at her "I am more than willing to make this work, and I forgive you for the hit though I did kind of deserve it." Entering the cafe and taking a seat, Anansi smiled under his mandibles. "Good I'm glad that I'll still be able to stay over, though I don't want to risk hurting you by turning up the heat even if it is for a day or a few hours," he said. When she took his hand he laced his fingers through hers and just looked at her. Her hair was beautiful this afternoon, the red matching the blue of her skin perfectly. He watched as she seemed to chew her lip nervously about something before muttering something under her breath. The vibrations in the air reached his hairs and his brain translated it into words. Smiling under his mandibles at what she said, he squeezed her hand "I would like those nights not to stop either." Her laughter echoed in his head and he chuckled softly also. This was nice despite everything that had happened this seemed like nothing had happened between the two of them. "One of the things you love about me?" he echoed back to her a realization coming to his mind "and of course I see your flaws as your strength, that is what couples do right? Support each other?" He had inadvertantly just told her he felt the same way, still getting used to this whole relationship thing. "Well he may be older and wiser, but hes still a person," he commented "I'm sure that there are things you two could talk about to get to know him." |

Ariel felt a wave of relief flush over her as he said they’d try to make things work. That he wasn’t giving up and that he’d forgive her and she hugged him just a bit tighter before letting go. She smiled feeling flattered how he was thankful at how she stayed with him freely but also very sad that he had that kind of self-image. “Christian… basically everybody in this world, including you, doesn’t see what I see. Sure, I’m not blind. You look like a spider, one of the most feared creatures in this world despite the evil aliens who are obviously out there in the universe. But I see more than that when I look at you.” She explained and ran her fingers over his mandibles as gently as she could. “I see a person with a heart of gold, more courageous than even Cyclops himself, more generous than Mother Theresa. I see a person who will put aside his own desires in order to keep innocent people safe. And you didn’t deserve the hit. I was just so… selfish that I only had room for my own feelings.” Sitting there in the vague sunshine coming through the window at the café, hearing the slight buzz that surrounded them from people having conversations at tables nearby, holding hands across the table with Anansi, Ariel felt at peace for the first time in a long time. “I would rather turn up the heat for a big, if it means I can have you over.” She said stubbornly and her bottom lip poked out in a pout. “I’ll make sure to have stayed inside and stay cooled, having my powers reloaded so it won’t be a problem. I don’t want our powers to suddenly be in the way of us being close. Our work does that for us plenty enough. I’d even wear a null cuff if it was necessary.” She blabbered out, not giving him a single chance to answer to her before the waitress came to take their orders. “Yeah. I’d like a peach iced tea and a cup of regular coffee for handsome here.” She said smiling and the waitress gave a half-hearted smile back looking between them before she left. Ariel stiffened slightly as she noticed how he suddenly realized what she had just said and she had to fight a gruesome inner battle to not blush heavily and run for the bathroom. She ran her free hand through her hair and started to twirl a log of it around her index finger like she always did when she was nervous. "and of course I see your flaws as your strength, that is what couples do right? Support each other?" This had Ariel jerk her head up to look at him, her eyes finding the ones he was using at the moment; she had after all spent so much time with him that she knew what to look for when she wished eye contact. “Couples?” she asked so quietly that only the breath from her mouth would let him know what she said. “So… are you saying we’re…” How was she to say it? She had given up hope to be in a relationship long ago back when Maria had started dating and she couldn’t because of how she looked. “Are you asking me to be your…?” She wished he’d end the sentence for her, it was one of the hardest things she’d have to say in a while and not because she didn’t want to. Because she was scared. |

When she started heaping good words onto him, he couldn't do anything but smile and blush. It was rare for colour to show through his hair and on his skin, but in this case it did. A reddish tinge overtook the the blackish tint of the hair and he smiled and fidgeted in his seat. "Thank you for the compliment Ariel," he said shifting as she tickled his mandible "and I am no where close to Mother Teresa, I just do what I can with what I have." This was turning out to be a very unique day and he was amazed that Ariel was thinking so much of him. As she talked about staying in the cold before he came over, he smiled again and then she mentioned wearing a null cuff and he squeezed her hand. "No I never want you to wear a null cuff because of me," he said urgently "I don't want yout o ever have to do that for me. I love you as you are." Immediately realizing what he said, he flushed again just as the waitress came up and Ariel ordered what they both wanted. Was he in love with Ariel? It certainly seemed like it and he didn't have an issue with it at all. It was just weird that someone would care for him in any regard despite using him as a tool like his old life had done. It had suddenly gotten quiet in between the two of them. They both seemed to be thinking the same thing and it created more of an awkward silence between them. When she breathed and asked if he was asking what she thought he was he nodded at her. "Yes I am asking you to be my girlfriend and if you want me to be your boyfriend," he said quietly as well just as embarrassed as he had never done this before. |

Ariel smiled brightly and her aura started to beam as the air within one inch of her started to freeze a bit watching him blush. “Looks like I’m no longer the only one blushing when we talk, anymore.” She said victoriously and ran her thumb over his hand still holding on to his hand, “Mother Teresa did the same Chris… She did what she could with what she had. But you’re right, comparing you to her makes no sense, you’re much better.” She said and lifted her head proudly as to show the world how proud she was of him. She looked at his smile, it wasn’t that it was too obvious due to his mandibles, but she could still tell by how his cheeks turned up towards his eyes, she felt his squeeze and listened to his words. “You don’t understand… Being nulled is only uncomfortable for me when I need to get warm and then again when I need to get called after the nulling effect stops. I don’t have to get that much used to anything in particular, like having four extra arms or eyes all over my head allowing me to see everything.” She blushed hearing him say that he loved her as she was and she looked at her pale blue arm, “Even if I look like some dead body that has been frozen for years?” It was clear to her that they were both new to it all, none of them had been in a serious relationship before and none of them had ever imagined it’d be possible. She knew they could make it work though they wouldn’t be a normal couple in many people’s eyes, but that was just the thing! They weren’t normal so why should they try? He was a spider, she was basically ice. He lived in the sewers taking care of a, now quite small, civilization down there and she worked at the leading company inside of science while fighting for her right to be an obvious mutant. They both fought frequently not only for their lives, but for other’s as well. They were both ‘strangers’ to America. So who said they’d have to follow any sort of code for a relationship and not just write their own? “Yes.” She said and all signs of joking were gone from her face. “Yes, I’ll be your girlfriend and I want you to be my boyfriend.” She said and smiled leaning in for the first kiss she’d get from him in about three months. |

"Yes even if you look like some dead body, because that is all I know you as," he said with a smile "besides the blue makes you look gorgeous." The blush that spread through the both of them made him smile, though the violet that came from her was stunning. His eyes watched her as she blushed some more, and his one eye caught sight of the waitress returning with their drinks. As she brought them to the table, he nodded and said thanks to her before taking a sip from the warm beverage. "Ah that is some good java, always need a nice warm drink especially when it's this cold out," he said before realizing who he had said that to "Oh I'm sorry. I forgot I shouldn't have said anything about heat." Sitting there glumly he held his coffee in a set of his hands and looked over at her. In response to his answer, Ariel seemed to be thinking of in regards to answering back. Anansi hoped that she would take his answer and answer with her own. When she did end up speaking her tone of voice was absent of humor and silliness and he feared that would mean she wasn't interested. Though as she answered with a yes and a smile, he knew that she had agreed. Smiling himself he felt a huge stress had been lifted off when she said that she wanted him to be her boyfriend. When she drew close he lifted his mandibles off his lips and into the air moving them out of the way for her to kiss him. Anansi returned the kiss just as softly caressing her arm with his thumb. When they had finished he flashed her a smile before lowering his mandibles back to their original places. |
