POWERS
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Maximum Brain Capacity
Atticus's biggest ability is his intelligence which seems to have no end. He can remember things completely that happened 20 years ago and even learn things just by seeing it done or doing it once. If he reverse engineers a device he is able to completely understand it and build one as if he came up with the idea. Atticus only needs to see something done once in order to be able to do that thing whether it be swinging a golf club, shooting a gun, or playing chess. He has great instincts as well seemingly being able to understand the littlest of details without a problem. While not being able to copy actual mutant abilities by seeing an ability Atticus is able to discern what it is and it's weakness with minimal error. Atticus has great deductive abilities and is able to easily discern something by the smallest of details.

Peak human state
Atticus's second ability is his top physical condition. Though not as good as one with super strength or speed his strength is greater than a normal humans. He can run for over an hour without feeling exhausted and can reach a top speed of 30 mph for a short amount of time. Atticus's strength is also greater than the average human being able to comfortably bench 400 lbs and reach at a limit 600. He is more durable than most being able to take a few hits from someone with super strength without dying but is in no way super durable. He also has a great resistance to disease almost never having been sick in his life. While not having an actual healing factor his wounds do heal a bit faster than a normal person though not fast enough to call it it's own ability. His metabolism is constantly at it's peak meaning he can almost never gain any more weight than he has.

General Skill:
Atticus has been trained in mixed martial arts, is an expert marksman, and a great detective. He has honed these abilities to near perfection and has a good deal of experience making him a great asset.
WEAKNESS:
Atticus's primary weakness is the constant strain that his intelligence puts on his brain. He is always using his brain to it's fullest and almost dangerously so. This has over the years developed into a small brain tumor and will continually get bigger until it one day kills him. He is also been shown to experience psychotic breakdowns and has exhibited a number of mental illnesses over the years such as delusions and OCD. Atticus is also always knowledge hungry almost to an obsessive point because of this ability. He has also developed a sort of nihilistic view of the world as well as a misanthropic one. His ability to never forget seems to be more of a curse to him as it makes him not able to completely forgive someone for anything they have done to him.

Atticus also has the strain of his physical body which is mainly because of his increased metabolism. Because it constantly seems to be running on high he can't really ever gain weight. This means that for the most part he has to almost always be eating at least every two hours. He is also at risk if he is involved in prolonged intense activity because of how fast he does burn his fat so fast. Because of this Atticus is subjected to multiple B12 shots which are used to help him gain weight. Though he is stronger than the average human being he is not stronger than say someone who has super strength and not anywhere near as fast as someone with super speed. And just because he has increased durability does not mean that he is super durable more than a few punches from someone with super strength will be enough to put him down.

PERSONALITY
Atticus's personality is in one word described as weird. He is generally spacey and loves to day dream about nothing. Even though Atticus understands human interaction and can be normal if he really wants his usual demeanor to people is anything but. He has no tact in anything he says and will be perfectly content to point out one's flaws. He is a bit of a narcissist loving to flaunt any and all accomplishments he has achieved to everyone no matter how small it is in nature. He hates to lose and will never admit losing to someone or being wrong causing him to burn more bridges than needed. It then goes without saying that Atticus is indeed very confident of himself and holds himself to high regards. This actually serves to be a bad thing sometimes because when he does fail he tends to broad over it for a long time.

Atticus has delusions of grandeur having half been caused by his narcissism and half caused by the physical strain of his abilities. He has also developed weird conspiracy theories which he seems to always want to talk about. Atticus is OCD and though it is not very extreme does serve to hinder his daily life. He does not allow anyone to touch his personal effects and hates the thought of bacteria. So much so that he always wears gloves and still carries around hand soap. Atticus has developed a nihilistic point of view on life thinking it meaningless and using this as an excuse to do almost nothing at times. He is also misanthropic distrusting most that he meets and associating very little with people other than the few friends he has.

This being said he does seem to want to make friends and tries hard to fit in even if it ends up going wrong. He also wants to believe people are good but as of right now has a hard time believing fully in such things. His ideas of good and bad are not as clear cut as most, but he does understand that no one should have their freedom taken away. He believes everyone should have a choice in the life they want to live even if it may seem to be the wrong choice to others. Atticus even with all his faults is open minded though he does have a hard time accepting criticism.

HISTORY: PRE-APOCALYPSE
Atticus was born with means to say the least, born to a wealthy business tycoon and a beautiful model of a mother Atticus from a very early point was destined for greatness. He also showed signs of being great from an early point of his life starting from the moment he entered kindergarten he was leaps and bounds above the rest skipping grades turned into a regular thing for young Atticus. This was because his powers had been fully manifested since birth. They weren't as noticeably different though so most just assumed he was a genius and gifted. His dad loved this and groomed him for his eventual place as CEO of his empire. His mother loved to show him off to all her friends and enjoyed the attention that she got from it.

Atticus himself loved the attention to doing his best to outshine anyone he could. By the time Atticus was 10 he was already attending 8th grade and doing his best to prove he was the best. This caused him to create more than a few enemies and bullying was a common occurrence for young Atticus. He quickly found though that he was stronger than most being able to keep his own in a fight of three 14 year old's even at his young age. Atticus couldn't let go of him losing to what he referred to as scum and planned his revenge. But it was more that just his ego that made it so. His parents constant pressure for him to be the best also meant that he couldn't let this humiliation go.

And so to satisfy both parties he began to plan his revenge. Later that week he set it in motion. It was only supposed to humiliate them but in a rare oversight on Atticus's part it caused two of the three boys to be severely injured and one to suffer emotional scars. It was something that would plague Atticus for years to come. Though he still held his own and kept up his reputation he would never go so far to seek revenge ever again. Still his parents did nothing to reprimand him and for once Atticus allowed himself to see just how ruthless of a person his father was, and how vain his mother proved to be. His dad congratulated him on the successful triumph and his mother just loved the attention she got. Still Atticus loved his parents and tried to let such weaknesses go still it would continue to grow.

At age 12 he was told that he had to join a sport his dad told him it was to be football. Atticus did as he was told and joined by now however he was known for his cocky attitude and perceived perfection. This caused most in his high school to hate him. Atticus didn't care though he knew that they were jealous and would probably be working for him one day. Besides any type of bullying was squashed since the incident two years back. While on the team he showed just how great he was going straight to the varsity team even though he had never played football. Atticus didn't help his case by constantly flaunting his success and show boating any chance he got.

It was so bad that his own team hated him. It got to such a point that on the championship game they stopped playing. Leaving Atticus to try to win the game by himself. It was the most humiliating defeat he ever had, and it was the day he would be hurt the most. However he did not seek revenge much to his fathers dismay instead he just continued to do what he usually did. But the incident did change him he resolved to never trust anyone and that the only person that could be trusted was himself. This thought carried him through high school and two years of college. when at age 17 he met a 19 year old freshman named Stacy. He was a junior studying business at Harvard and seemed to only care about grades and graduating.

Still Stacy was a girl who would come to change his outlook on life a little bit. She was nice and kind and accepted Atticus not becoming jealous of him or hating him. She was beautiful to and Atticus instantly fell for her. She was not like most girls she seemed to care for Atticus and not for the money or the prestige he carried. She seemed to love life and thought people were good she even supported the mutants which at the time Atticus though were disgusting. He was bewildered by her out look and thought it was a bit naive but found himself loving her for it. The two dated for a year when Atticus turned 18 and while on a family trip heard some disturbing news.

Stacy had died more specifically she had been killed. She had been one of the humans caught up in the June 9th 2008 attack of Magneto. Atticus left his family in Italy flying back in time for the wake. He was mad but he also couldn't help but think her too naive, she was probably trying to help the mutants or something stupid he thought. At this time he started hating the mutants and as well started to form his nihilistic point of view, his distrust of people seemed to increase. When he was 19 he was done with his education and ready to start an apprenticeship at his dad's firm. A few months in however had shown that he had a knack one that overshadowed his dads greatness.

His dad loved being praised however hated being beaten and steadily grew to resent his son. Atticus picked up on this fast knowing what the face of someone who was jealous of him looked like. Still wanting to believe his dad would get past it he went on like nothing happened. Though this hope was soon destroyed when his dad behind his back made an announcement that he would continue running this firm until he was dead. He said it was because it was to hard to leave but it was a bad lie and Atticus knew the real reason. Still he wasn't surprised he knew something like this would happen and decided to leave the house, getting a job as a business adviser. A few months passed by when he was first approached by the xmen who wanted him to join. It was also the first time he was told that he was a mutant. Something he hated he now was, at first Atticus didn't want to believe it.

But soon it became obvious that it was the case after all his talents, though not showy like some mutants were still spectacular. Still he wanted nothing to do with the xmen whom he blindly blamed for the death of Stacy and turned them down. They left quietly but the same would not be said for the Brotherhood whom were a bit more vocal about their disappointment. It resulted in the damage of the building and the injury of an employee. His boss now fearing for the safety of himself and his company did what he thought was necessary and fired Atticus. This angered Atticus only for a little before deciding there was no point to being angry.

A few weeks after that had shown him that he was run out of the business as his former boss had divulged the secret of his. Just as Atticus was contemplating moving April 7th hit.

DURING APOCALYPSE
The attack was an awakening to Atticus who though knew about the mutants, and now about himself as a mutant didn't think anything truly of it. He knew they caused damage but to the extent of the attack that was about to occur he had no idea. He was coming back from a club when he first noticed something. A shake and a loud rumbling noise. It seemed like an earthquake but nothing to severe. The only thing weird was that there was an earthquake in New York. But then the carnage started a horde of mindless people came out of nowhere and what would later be called a horseman showed up. Atticus was able to escape fighting his way through the horde of mindless soldiers. He took refuge in any place he could trying to avoid the attention of the horseman.

Eventually he heard of the shelter that the mutants had set up and decided to make his way over there. Dodging the hordes and fighting the few stragglers he eventually found his way in. It was here that he found for the first time that the mutants weren't as bad as he thought they were. Seeing them helping people out he figured he might as well try to help them in any way he could. So he set off trying to help the injured as well and went out and helped those out on the streets. Atticus didn't really pay much attention to the actual fight instead focusing on the people that were hurt or stranded outside.

POST-APOCALYPSE
When the chaos subsided Atticus was again left with no job and now no place to live. He decided that he couldn't stay in the shelter and as he was leaving he met the then leader of Shield Cameron Hodge. He had came to meet with xmen but said he recognized Atticus's work. Atticus was then offered a job at Shield. It took a few weeks for Atticus to decide. He didn't personally want anything to do with mutants even though his hate for them had gone down. He also figured that it would be useless to try and things would just go as they pleased. But at 20 and facing the prospect of living on the streets Atticus took the job.

He was sent to training which he had a relatively easy time with. He picked up the skills that were taught quickly and soon Atticus became a member of shield. Still he was having trouble getting along with people. His narcissistic attitude and his tendency to patronize did not earn him points with his superiors and his peers. But he was acknowledged as an asset to the team. He spent the next few months in Shield taking part in missions and gaining experience.
PURIFIERS
when Atticus turned 21 the call of the purifiers put out. Being a mutant Atticus was ordered to register to Shield as a a result. Atticus having no real qualms did as he was told and was registered. Still he witnessed the carnage get bigger. And was soon dispatched to help contain the riots that were taken place in mutant town. His team proved to small for the job and the riots violence grew until it reached a head in the night of broke glass. During this time Atticus did all he could to try to mitigate the violence stopping attackers and taking in the injured for rehabilitation. When the night was over Atticus dragged himself back to base.

It took him a week to recover enough to go back out on assignments. However the scars never left him fully as the event is still vivid in his memory. Instead he tried his best to petition for an end to the meaningless violence. However his calls would not be even entertained until the Xavier institute was blown up. Still the fighting did not end and Atticus decided that there was no point anymore in trying to stop the carnage. He came to the conclusion that this was going to happen no matter what he did. As a result he retreated inward and continued carrying out his assignments.

Atticus next big assignment would be the containment of the sentinels and he was dispatched to help stop them. In the middle of the carnage he was again seen helping the xmen to stop the sentinels. Just as Atticus was reaching complete exhaustion did the fight end. After cleaning up he came back contemplating what had happened.

SKRULLS
The Skrulls attack seemed to be the same time Atticus was dealing most with his delusions, which for some reason had spiked severely. He had come to believe that an alien invasion was already at hand and that they would strike soon. Still no one would believe him knowing his past history. Because of this delusion Atticus did his best to protect against any matter of mind control device possible as well as physical defenses in his apartment against any alien. His delusion proved to be right and his defenses proved to be good as well when the radio frequency was sent out bending people to the will of the Skrulls. Atticus was left unaffected deciding it would be best to team up with the few free willed people left. He helped fight off the Skurlls and tried his best to break his colleagues free of the mind control.

CURRENT HISTORY
After the Skrulls hit his delusions continued their attack on his psyche causing him a momentary breakdown. This threatened his career at Shield however a quick recovery saved him from termination from his job. He was told that the next one would mean he would had to leave Shield. Atticus fearing for his job has since then worked hard to keep his delusions secret or at least contained in an attempt to deter this threat. He has just got off rehabilitation and has started again at his job.

SAMPLE RP POST:
It was the first day back on the job, first day. He needed to act cool but not to cool. But how could he not act to cool? After all Atticus was amazing a top star in fact he was pretty sure all the women in Shield wanted him...even the married ones. But he had to try even if such a thing was impossible. Atticus nodded this was the only way he would keep his job, and he needed this job after being involved for so long a desk job at a business would be unbearable. He had tasted danger and seen just how much he could influence the world and just how great he could be. Sure it would be easy for him to be a business tycoon or something like that but it wasn't fun. Well maybe if this didn't work out he could try the whole super hero thing. Maybe put on a mask and jump around town.

No he couldn't do that his face looked to good it'd be a shame he thought as he put on his suit jacket and straightened his tie. Atticus moved to one of the many mirrors in his apartment and checked himself. Yes he was good he looked perfect now he just had to act like he was perfect. Just needed to pretend that there were no such thing as conspiracies...that the government wasn't being controlled by an alien race. Yes he needed to act normal...normal stuff.

"Alright Atticus you can do this just be your lovely, good looking, perfect self." he said to himself before opening the door and leaving.

Hi Att. I'm going to give you a few adjustments before we go over this in fine detail. First, that playby is taken. It was someone who was recently approved so he probably wasn't added to the taken playby list yet. Sorry about that, but it happens, and you'll need to change that.

Second, the name of your character. The name is kind of out there, don't you think? And also, the alias "Agent X" is a canon character and you can't use that for an OC.

Third, you have mental disorders in your personality, and we would prefer those to be removed. There isn't anything wrong with a character being a little nutty, but to name off specific disorders and then represent them in gameplay (whether accurately or not) could be offensive to some members. Not to mention they are banned.

Fourth, I'd like you to rewrite that sample post. You don't have to explain how cool your character is and you sure shouldn't assume that every woman wants your character... even the married ones.

And finally, you sure seem similar to someone who applied last night. That you Abe?
