7.00 PM – Friday, March 29, 2013

Nights like this were usually the ones that Sahara dreaded. Work seemed to be the only exciting thing in her existence. Leaving work became harder each day when Sahara had to leave after her shift at Horizon Labs. She hated the idea of going home because she had the knowledge that she would go home to a boring apartment and do many boring and menial activities to keep her occupied. Most hobbies have never really been the thing for Sahara, they never proved a very good challenge against her skill. Finishing jigsaw puzzles or solving complicated mathematical or physics equations online proved to increase the boredom factor after every solution found. There was not one appliance or machine left in Sahara’s apartment that could be further improved, however wanting to create a fridge that would be able to fire lasers at unsuspecting intruders did seem tempting now and then, however the thought of what will she do after something like that always made her cringe.

Keys rattled against the lock of Sahara’s apartment and the door slowly opened to a darkened apartment, it was quite, nothing new there. Everything remained where she left it, letting out a large sigh, placing her keys in the blue stained glass bowl and throwing her jacket over the sofa, she crashed onto the couch in the room that had still been darkened.

“Lights please.” Sahara stated in the dark room.

The lights on the ceiling and those along the side tables of her apartment lit quickly. Installing voice activated appliances into her apartment was one of the first few teaks the Sahara had done to her it that had many other improvements follow after it. Sahara flicked the television on and tuned into the news. It became a reliable source once again in the past month of moving in, as if it was one of her few windows to the world. Sahara paced around her apartment cleaning up, positioning objects and finally making it to the fridge after the little procrastination that she had done. News about a man named Scott Summers came up, but it was barely heard by Sahara while she fidgeted with the fridge, wondering if she should apply inconspicuous laser cannons to it.

“What the hell , might as well do it.” ,said Sahara to herself.

She moved to a cupboard and grabbed some tools to begin her work. She switched on her sound system and blasted Death Metal music into the spaces of her apartment. Thankfully the walls were already lined with soundproof materials. It was one of the reasons she got the place. Moving back to the fridge, she took bits and pieces of it apart and began to fiddle and tweak with the components inside. The loud music had practically blocked any external noises and so causing Sahara to drift off for a moment and work automatically. The sound system stopped after a good twenty minutes had gone by, to alert Sahara that there was someone at her door. The knocking was heard clearly and this made Sahara fly to the door to see who her unsuspecting visitor was. She opened the door and tried to look casual, she did look rather messed up, she had small stains from the fridge and other strange marks from the fridge on her fingers. She looked up to see it was a man, pretty young to

“Hey there..” She extended her hand for a handshake but then realizing it was a bit greasy she just withdrew it and brought up a gracious smile instead. “...how can I help you?”. Yeah, Sahara didn’t do that well with first impressions at times.

Dear Lord, Ted thought privately, somewhere in between incredulous exclamation and genuine prayer, how do I get into these messes? Which was an entirely rhetorical question, granted. The answer had to do with something called "Project Amber," a joint research project between SHIELD and Horizon Labs, which was hitting a bureaucratic snag related to departmental funding, which was in turn related in some way Ted didn't entirely understand to the personnel allocated to the project and rules governing which budget codes their time could be paid out of, which some time this afternoon became a high-priority issue when it came out that Dr.Sahara Gale of Horizon Labs, otherwise known as Minerva, was a mutant not yet registered with SHIELD.

All of which, when it had been explained to Ted, had mostly caused him to yawn. After all, Dr.Gale wasn't in any way obligated to register with SHIELD, and while Ted had mixed feelings about that when it came to mutants with dangerous abilities, as far as he understood it Dr.Gale didn't especially qualify. Sure, she could design some kind of superweapon or whatever, but the same could be said for Tony Stark or any of a hundred other people, many of whom lacked mutations or superpowers at all. And failing a clear and present danger, as a mutant himself his sympathies lay entirely with her: she didn't have to register if she didn't want to. If the rules governing inter-agency project funding precluded paying for an unregistered mutant researcher out of the departmental budget, then in Ted's opinion SHIELD should either change those rules or not pay for her out of their departmental budget, but it was ridiculous to ask her to change her registration status simply to comply with SHIELD's internal Human Resources policies. And he'd said as much, if perhaps in more polite language, when he'd been called in to the department head's office this afternoon and read in on what the man insisted on calling a "crisis." He'd resisted the urge to point out to the man that in the absence of significant risk of death, property damage in excess of $100K, or irreversible alterations to history or the fundamental laws of physics, bureaucratic difficulties simply did not qualify as crises; he hadn't quite resisted the urge to laugh.

Ultimately, though, his opinion changed nothing and his assignment was clear. Apparently "Project Amber" was really important for reasons that were above his security clearance -- heck, he didn't even know what the project was -- so this little bureaucratic snafu had to be resolved tonight, and the Powers That Be had decided that sending a mutant agent to handle it would be advisable from a PR perspective, and that living in the same community would also give him an advantage. So Ted had been tagged to convince Dr.Gale to change her SHIELD registration status before Horizon Labs opened tomorrow morning. Granted, he wasn't sure that meeting at the subject's home, rather than her office, was a good idea... but by the time he'd arrived at the Labs building she'd already left for the day.

So, here he was.

"Hi," he returned the woman's greeting, extending his hand and then awkwardly returning it to his side when she withdrew hers, then showing her his SHIELD identification. "I'm really sorry to bother you at home, Dr.Gale. My name's Ted Altman, SHIELD sent me to talk to you. Don't worry, you're not in trouble or anything, nothing is wrong, it's just a paperwork thing... turns out your registration form never got entered into our databases, and it's causing some glitches in our HR procedures now that SHIELD and Horizon Labs are working on that shared research project. So, we need to take care of that, is all. Can I come in?"

Sahara looked behind her when she stood in the doorway to make sure her apartment was in a good condition for visitors, except for the kitchen that had the small abomination known as the dismantled refrigerator inside it. She would just have to make sure he avoided that area once she allowed him in to her home. The one thing that made Sahara feel uncomfortable about letting the man in, aside from her project in the kitchen, was that he wanted her to be registered into SHIELD. She knew that some member from SHIELD would eventually show up for her registry into its database ever since Horizon Labs decided to join a research project along with SHIELD. On some occasions, Sahara managed to hack into SHIELD’s databases long enough without being noticed to make sure she still wasn’t discovered by SHIELD as a mutant and if she found anything that regarded information on her then she would try to erase it in some manner, though later she found it was a waste of time for her when she could be doing something far more productive and figured she would just deal with it when the time came.

“Sure, come in and take a seat.” She said with a gleeful and inviting expression, an odd response to some people who would hear of her status as a scientist and think her very serious and intellectual being or the fact that she didn’t look like a scientist at all and someone you’d find at a ‘Cannibal Corpse’ concert.

The lounge was at least decent in Sahara’s opinion. It was decorated lightly with a gothic detail, here and there, small playful trinkets lying around as well. It was the style that suited Sahara. She took a seat opposite of him and stared at him for a moment, he seemed interesting, not what Sahara would expect from SHIELD. She figured some middle aged man or woman, very well dressed and incredibly business like look would be knocking at her door. It was not just his youth but also something about him that made her curious, he did look perfectly normal, nothing out of the ordinary but it was a habit of the scientist to be curious of many things. This would be a subject that Sahara would have to get back at a later date if she remembered it at all.

“Okay then, do you want something to drink like Coffee, tea or something on the colder side?”

Sahara was trying to be polite, also to try and stray from the subject of registration long enough to get to know this man better. If she was just going to hand her information to anyone, it would be someone she would need to trust. After all, she based her judgment on actions and not on appearances and SHIELD would need to reveal it’s positive actions for her to have faith in them, not just because they appear to be important in such matters. She would have to give her information at one stage though if she still wanted to work at the labs, but not without doing things her way first.

Ted had been primed to have the door slammed in his face, so the scientist's cheerful invitation to enter caught him somewhat off-guard, as did her overall demeanor. Honestly, if he hadn't already seen pictures of her he would be suspecting her of not being Dr. Gale at all, but rather some neighborhood kid or family member playing the role for a lark. She seemed to be about Ted's age, which was consistent with her file, though the list of advanced degrees next to her name would probably be considered some kind of database error without the additional information that she'd been earning them steadily since she was ten years old.

Admittedly, Ted had some advantages in that regard, having known similar prodigies during his time at Xavier's who had similarly exceptional educational pedigrees. The most obvious of whom was, of course, the aptly named Prodigy, and Ted wondered idly what getting him in the same room as Dr.Gale would be like. He wasn't sure he ever wanted to find out. He also wasn't too surprised, all things considered, that she had floated under the HR radar screen... superhuman intelligence was one of those subtle X-gene mutations that the mainstream was prepared to accept as part of the normal range of human variation, unlike most abilities. To Ted's way of thinking, they'd be a lot better off to just accept the X-gene itself as part of the normal range of human variation. He'd said that once to one of his teachers, who was talking about statistical analysis of something-or-other, and she'd explained about the statistical difficulties that would cause... he didn't really understand the math, but he got the general idea that if you cared about average human strength, factoring in someone like Ted who could bench-press 70 tons just led to confusing numbers. Still, in practice he wasn't really convinced it was anything other than genetic prejudice wrapped up in the language of bureaucratic expediency.

So then why am I here? the small voice of his conscience in the back of his mind needled him, and he gave it the same answer he'd been giving it for the last hour: because he was willing to treat her choice to register or not register as just that, her choice, and not try to badger her into it. He wasn't sure he could say the same of whomever SHIELD would send in his place.

"No, thank you," he replied to her offer of refreshment, and sat down where she'd indicated. Apparently she was a small-talk kind of woman, which was OK with Ted... everybody was different. So instead of barreling directly onto his assignment, he took an oblique approach. "So, you work for Horizon Labs? They're lucky to have you on their team... your resume is beyond impressive. How many doctorates do you have to your name now? Me, I was lucky to graduate high school... if it weren't for my being able to lift heavy stuff, SHIELD probably wouldn't have taken me." He was being somewhat overly modest, admittedly; he wasn't a lunkhead, though he often found it useful to play one. On the other hand, compared to Dr.Gale, he might as well be. "There was a guy I went to high school with who had a supersmart mutant thing going on, too... nice guy, but it took him forever to figure out how to have an ordinary conversation. I guess it must be frustrating for you super-genius types just trying to have a conversation with average Joes like me, huh? I mean, my boyfriend's twin brother is a speedster, and just waiting on line at a Starbucks at normal-person speeds can drive him up a wall, literally. Is it sort of like that for you?"

Even though Ted had denied her offer for a delicious beverage, she would give him something at least for the sake of politeness and other reasons that would later come to light. She was hospitable to people, even to people who wouldn’t want it. It was a habit of Sahara to find friendship in almost anyone who doesn’t present any harm or threat to her. Maybe that is why she liked Horizon Labs, it somehow related to her ideas of working well with friendly factions and people who needed it such as SHIELD. The thing that sparked an interest in this particular conversation is that Ted didn’t get straight to the business, he seemed like he could hold a bit of small talk.

“So, you work for Horizon Labs? They're lucky to have you on their team... your resume is beyond impressive. How many doctorates do you have to your name now? Me, I was lucky to graduate high school... if it weren't for my being able to lift heavy stuff, SHIELD probably wouldn't have taken me.”

Sahara gave a small laugh at first, “Wow, thanks but I don’t like to brag about it or the fact don’t even I remember how many I have, I guess I just try not to focus on it much.”

He did seem quite muscular when Sahara looked him over, not sexually of course, doing anything of that nature with anyone wasn’t the on the list of priorities in Sahara’s life, also the fact that she noticed how he had an interest in men, obviously not an issue for her. Sahara noticed that he must’ve spent much time on his physique to get it in that physical condition. He obviously researched Sahara’s details quite well as he had gone on about how amazingly intelligent Sahara was. She began to wonder whether or not he felt intimidated by her intelligence, she felt comfortable around him even when considering how much taller he was than her, or that he could easily over power her physically. Sahara wasn’t worried about anything of that nature happening because she was in a place where she had a control over. Any threats brought on her would cause the well designed defences in her apartment to activate, an unwanted experience in Sahara’s opinion but maybe someone such as Ted could over power it still, she didn’t know much about him so this meant he could potentially have an ability to control technology with his mind or maybe just smash the place up and not be affected and easily disable the system.

“I don’t get annoyed that much, maybe it’s because of the way I was brought up. I know that some ‘geniuses’ at the labs get quite heated in discussions had with those they consider stupid. I am sure you got into SHIELD for other reasons than just being physically superior; you probably got the smarts too, SHIELD would hopefully not just put a gun in some moron’s hands anyway.”

Sahara walked around in the kitchen, still talking clearly to Ted while she took light steps over the heap of fridge parts strewn on the kitchen floor when preparing something delicious and of a welcoming nature. She came back with two large and comical mugs of coffee and a small plate biscuits, he may have declined but that didn’t mean no to Sahara. She sat across him on the sofa in a cross-legged position and proceeded to take a great sip of coffee, savouring the caffeine goodness. She let out a satisfied sigh and looked at Ted again with a smile; she then looked down at the untouched coffee of Ted and back up to him again as if it were a silent gesture that he should drink the beverage.

“So you have a boyfriend...that’s real sweet, and he has a twin speedster as well, incredibly intriguing. Wouldn’t he also have a special ability considering that his genes are much closer to his brother? Also would your skill just involve something like super-strength or something on another level of awesome?”

Sahara did enjoy getting more info on people, but there was something interesting about Ted that she needed to find out, if she could just get a DNA sample from him, that would probably yield some results once it could possibly go under tests, it would be something to start with at least. Sahara couldn’t help the need to find more information on a person, if she couldn’t get it through discussion then it seemed appropriate to study them on a more biological level without the permission to have possession of their DNA.

"SHIELD would hopefully not just put a gun in some moron’s hands anyway."

"Well, I like to think I'm not a moron," Ted admitted with a chuckle, "but I'm certainly no genius. Smart enough to hit what I aim at, at least. And I hope I'm smart enough to aim at the right targets, but I guess that remains to be seen." He examined the room while she assembled coffee and snacks. He'd declined the offer, but she'd decided to ignore that, which was fine with Ted; he was just trying to be friendly. He'd gotten the impression from her manner that the Doc would respond more positively to an informal request once she'd gotten to know him than to any attempt to be businesslike. Which was fine with him; he wasn't too happy with this assignment to begin with, so if he could get it done with a certain level of friendliness so much the better.

"Thank you," he said as he accepted the coffee and biscuits. She seemed interested when he brought up Tommy's mutant abilities, as he'd hoped she would be; after all, this whole 'registration' thing was ultimately all about how mutants and baseline humans were supposed to work and play together, and anything that placed them on the same side would help matters. "And yeah, he's a mutant too." Technically speaking, Billy wasn't out as a mutant, but it was a pretty poorly kept secret... especially after Mr. Summers took the Institute public... and Dr. Gale had some pretty impressive security clearances. He took a sip of his coffee, took a bite of his biscuit, smiled appreciatively.

"I don't really know how his abilities work, to tell you the truth... it's just magic as far as I'm concerned. Clarke's Third Law, right?" He watched her face, ready to explain that any sufficiently advanced technology was indistinguishable from magic if he had to, but judging from the items he'd seen around her living room he suspected she wouldn't need it. "As for my awesome abilities, well..." he hesitated, then shrugged. Why not? His shapeshifting abilities were a secret, but his Jolly Green Giant form certainly wasn't; he preferred not to show it off in public, but that was just a question of preference. "How about I show you?" He didn't even put down the coffee cup, though he took special care to modulate the strength of his grip on it as he bulked up and the power of his muscles increased geometrically. "They call me Hulkling. For obvious reasons, I guess. I'm not actually related, though, just your garden-variety mutant." That was a lie, but it was an easy lie for him to tell; he'd believed it for years, after all, even when his genetic scans had turned out to be more screwed up than your average mutant's. "Still, it gets the point across... strength, invulnerability, a bit of a healing talent. Not anywhere near Hulk scales, but it does the job."

Sahara has seen some pretty impressive things in her life, but this was far more interesting, a live demonstration of superhuman abilities was being performed right before her, which obviously was a thousand times better than what the television screen had to offer. He fascinated Sahara immensely with his performance. This made here wish that she would spend more time on studying genetics and mutations, though sadly, she got distracted too easily and would end up putting it off for another day. The only way that she could get involved with more mutants, to understand mutations in general would be to join something that had access to a wide variety of mutants, SHIELD now slowly proved to be a very good candidate in this matter.

“Holy Shizz!” Sahara said loudly, “This is beyond amazing!” Sahara stood up and moved over next to Ted. Lifting a finger, she proceeded to poke and prod his physique. It was as he said, it would get the job done in a tough situation. Sahara had to restrain herself a bit, she desperately wanted to see a healing factor occur and it would be quite inappropriate to make a rapid incision randomly. It definitely would prove awkward, especially in this situation. Again, this got Sahara thinking, SHIELD did seem to have very unique individuals working under it, and these said persons were also well trained from the looks if it, though, the thought had risen that she should still not entirely base her decisions on what SHIELD had and looked like, but actually on what they really do. She had an idea of what they did, it’s not like she hasn’t tried going through some files in the databases of government organisations, pity she couldn’t remember of even half of the information she went through. A good decision would be to probably get some info out of Ted here for now.

Sahara sat back down and patted the seat across her for him to sit in if he desired, she remained rather casual after calming down from her small outburst of excitement, she still had to contain some of it of course.

“Alrighty, now that was cool, very cool, but now that we have had time to get to sorta get to know each other, I’d like to discuss the registration.” Sahara said lifting her coffee mug off the table and bringing it to her lips for a quick sip. “To be honest Ted, I think SHIELD is a viable option, but I just need to know one or two things first; I want to know these in your own opinion and not anyone else’s, what do you think of SHIELD, do you think all these requirements for registrations are really necessary?” Sahara, sunk into her chair and waited for his response, she wouldn’t judge him harshly at all, she figured he would probably be honest enough about it, now that he is probably more comfortable with her. If Ted asked her about SHIELD, she would give her honest response too.

Ted chuckled good-naturedly as Sahara poked and prodded him. "I'd say you could at least buy me a drink first," he mock-complained, "but, well..." he trailed off with a grin, lifting his coffee cup in the air and indicating it with a tilt of his head. "Seriously, though, I usually get a much more negative reaction when I do that in public. Most people find it kind of intimidating. Enthusiasm is, well, it makes a refreshing change, you know?" He sat down across from her and nodded as she got more businesslike, then nodded again more slowly at her question and hissed a thoughtful breath out through pursed lips.

In some ways her question was irrelevant to his actual assignment; after all, the real issue here was the stupid HR policies underlying this joint SHIELD/Horizon research grant. But in a broader sense, it was precisely relevant.

"I think it depends," he said finally. "I mean, I guess I kind of understand why SHIELD and Horizon Labs wrote the contract the way they did... full disclosure, full transparency, that sort of thing. SHIELD requires its mutant agents to register as well, for the same reasons, really. Then again, we also have to go through background checks and physicals and all kinds of other disclosure things, too, as do the baseline human agents, and, hey, we all signed up for all of it." He shrugged. "Of course, I didn't have too much of a choice about registering, granted: the first time I went big and green, my high-school went nuts and SHIELD got called in, they thought I actually was the Hulk, at first." He laughed and ran a hand ruefully through his hair. "You'd think the hair would give it away; the Hulk isn't blond, as far as I know."

He took another gulp of his coffee before continuing. "If you're asking about mutant registration more generally, though, I dunno. In some ways I guess it's just like anything else... it's a good thing when I don't have to keep things about myself secret; it's a bad thing when I don't get to keep things about myself private, and it's not always easy to tell the difference. You know? So I kind of like the current arrangement... registration is an option, but it isn't mandatory. I'd like it a lot more if we could get mutants recognized as a protected class for things like employment, housing, anti-mutant hate crimes, that sort of thing... and I do think voluntary registration helps with all of that... but I don't expect it any time soon. And in the meantime, I guess we've all just got to watch out for each other a bit more." He put the empty coffee mug down. "As for SHIELD itself... well, it has screwed up a lot. Who hasn't? But on balance I think we do more good than harm, and we step in to take care of situations that need to be taken care of. I mean, superhero groups like the X-Men and the Avengers and the Fantastic Four and them, they're totally awesome, don't get me wrong, but... well... they aren't accountable to anyone, you know? And sometimes we need that, we need heroes who are free agents who can deal with situations on their own. But sometimes we need police and courts and stuff like that, too. We can't keep expecting the superheroes to handle it all for us, y'know?"

Looking the doctor in the eyes, he added "What about you? What do you think?"

Sahara really took in what Ted was saying quite well. She clearly showed this in her body posture, she appeared quite relaxed as she moved out of her slightly serious position and huddled deeply into the seat she sat in, her legs folded onto it while she brought the large mug to her lips, her coffee would be finished if she took three or four more sips. Clearly from what Ted was saying, SHIELD became more appealing to Sahara, of course the system seemed extremely uptight and there appeared to be more rules and regulations that one would need to suffer through to get anywhere, but looking past small issues such as that made it as if it didn’t seem like a big deal to just join. The only concern was the safety of her personal information, obviously SHIELD proved to be quite well in keeping information secure from what Sahara had analyzed on it’s security over it’s databases. Sahara managed to hack into it’s networks and databases before, but not without some difficulty.

“I think that SHIELD has got it all together, was just not sure if I should be handing my info out to just anyone, but I guess you guys can keep it safe at least,” Sahara chuckled. “I might have to just do some checkups whenever I feel the need to.” She took a sip of her coffee, “I have to be honest to say I was pretty against SHIELD before, it even got to the point that if any info came on about my past activities or me, I would make sure it never existed. Now I guess I don’t dislike it as much, considering there are people such as yourself working inside it and obviously for other reasons.” Sahara set down her mug and got up from her comfy chair; she walked to her desk where a large black pen with a fluffy tip rested on it. Picking it up she walked back over to Ted and looked him in the eye and smiled with a sigh, “So, how about those forms, where do I sign?”

Ted wasn't sure how well his little rambling monologue would be received... PR wasn't really his assigned method of service... but to judge from the woman's reaction, he'd done OK. Equally important to his mind, if not necessarily to his superiors', he'd done it without lying about his actual beliefs about SHIELD as an organization. As he'd said to her, they were far from perfect, but in that they were no different from anyone else, and they were trying to do the right thing most of the time, which put them head and shoulders above most of the world. When it came to mutant affairs specifically, he supposed he would still rather trust Mr. Summ -- that is, he corrected himself suddenly, Ms. Monroe, and a grief he'd thought he'd gotten past shadowed his eyes and clouded his expression for a moment before he regained his composure -- but if there was one thing he'd learned over the last few years it was that mutant affairs could not cleanly be separated from the affairs of the rest of humanity. We must all hang together, he quoted silently in his own mind, or we shall certainly all hang separately.

"Well, I'm glad to hear it," he replied with a nervous smile as he reached into the bag beside him and pulled out the forms. "Here they are. Sorry," he added sheepishly, "it's kind of a long form... you can fill it out at your leisure and mail it in, though. Not as bad as doing your taxes, admittedly." He shrugged, semi-apologetically. "Bureaucracy, right? Whatchagonnado. There's a self-addressed stamped envelope included, though," he added brightly, "or you can do it online, if you prefer. Which, honestly, I'd recommend; it's a lot faster that way, and you can printout a copy for your records."

Which brought his mission to a successful conclusion, but Ted wasn't quite ready to go. "Hey, so, it's not really any of my business, and feel free to tell me to butt out or whatever, but I'm really curious... what the heck is your mutation? I mean, I've looked over what Horizon Labs sent, but it's kind of fuzzy... I don't know what 'intuitive aptitude' even means. Like, you just... know stuff?" Ted had talked to Billy a few times about Layla at the Institute, and this business of inscrutable knowledge reminded him enough of her to make his teeth itch, though admittedly Sahara didn't seem to have the attitude that came with it.

Sahara reached for the forms and began to fill in the long lists of information. Her pen raced across the pages, stopping a few times so she could read the small print to be cautious as she listened to Ted’s question. She was usually presented with this question quite often when people managed to find out she had an interesting mutation

“Well, Intuitive aptitude is the ability to understand the structure and operation of complex systems without special education or training, that’s the text book definition at least.” Sahara said looking up for a few moments. “I pretty much know how to do things easily without having to go into much research, of course I would need to get into contact with it to understand it. I lose information just as quickly once it becomes irrelevant to the situation, however some information sticks, which comes as a great benefit when you’re in my profession.” Sahara placed the uncompleted forms on the coffee table and looked at Ted with a smile once again. She stood up and took her mug to the kitchen, leaving Ted’s mug on the table, with some luck she could obtain a DNA sample from his saliva for future analysis. She walked to the kitchen to place it in the dishwasher among all the other dishes that would need to be cleaned at some point. “Soon I’m going to have to make a little assistant bot or something to help around the apartment and not I’m sure if you saw my small abomination of a fridge going on in the kitchen, proof that I’m also going to need that bot soon” Sahara chuckled at her remark.

Sahara returned to the living room to speak to Ted even further, “So, if you ever need my help, just ask, I will be more than willing to assist you in any way I can. I don’t want to let skill go to waste, and be sure to get a call from me one of these days, might need to use some muscle to move around a couch or to hangout, I’d like to meet your boyfriend soon, see how his ‘magic’ works.” She patted his shoulder as she walked past him. A buzzing noise came from Sahara’s bag, walking over to it, she dug out her phone to find a message. “Damn, I have to go to work, they need me to just check on one of the experiments.” Sahara sighed loudly and realized she had to let Ted out first, it would be awkward to leave him alone after an entertaining conversation. “ Uhm, it was great meeting you Ted.” Sahara said as she walked around the apartment, gathering her things along the way. She then went over to the door, opening it then looking at Ted, giving him the motion that he would need to leave as well “I am afraid you have to leave with me, the security system is going to arm once I go.” Once they had both left the apartment, Sahara embraced Ted in a friendly hug as a goodbye and giggle, then leaving in the opposite direction towards the exit, thinking that tonight went quite well.
