Date: June 8’th Time The early hours, set after This Lucy was drunk. She wasn’t just drunk, no, she was hammered. Walking down the streets, the young nurse wondered to herself when she had last been this influenced by alcohol and she giggled uncontrollably; last time she had been this drunk was the last time she had gone to Italy to see her family and friends there and had gone out with all her cousins. It had been a fun night as well as this night had been. As she giggled she passed another drunk person on his way home and smiled with a small wave, “Hey. Do you know where… uhm… the bus station is?” she asked and frowned disappointed when the person shook his head. ”Sorry sweetheart. But ya can…” the guy burped ”head home with me?” Normally Lucy would have gotten a disgusted look on her face and politely decline before walking away, but not this time. This time she giggled and gently pushed him, though she didn’t have much control of her powers at that point and pushed him over. “Oh you! I know what you’re hinting to!” she laughed and bit her lip, trying to be sexy. “Thank you for the offer, but I really should head… somewhere. Bye!” she said and stumbled on down the street. Normally she wouldn’t like the fact that she couldn’t walk in a straight line or be in full control over her motions and powers, but she was just drunk enough to find it hysterical. She laughed, giggled, chuckled and snorted at herself, before stumbling over a stone and falling into a streetlamp. “Oh Lord…” she said and stood up straight looking at the now bended and blinking streetlamp. “That’s bad… Maybe I shouldn’t go home where there’s students” she said, whispering the last word. Who was she talking to? She looked around and laughed again; she was talking to herself! Now wasn’t that just silly? Shaking her head she leaned against a wall and fished her phone out of her pocket. Oh god! Everything on that thing was blurry! She squeezed her eyes together and started dialing a familiar number. After a few tries, she finally got the number right and called the one person who’d be willing to come down and get her – and give her a place to crash. Or go out for yet another drink. After a few beeps, someone finally picked up “Heeeeeey Ari! Guess what!? I’m DRUNK!” She giggled knowing that the blue mutant would be stunned, “So look, I reeeeeeaaaaaaaally shouldn’t head home to the institute! So will you come pick me up? You’re such a sweetheart! I’m standing in front of that weird tattoo shop that specializes in unicorns. I smashed a streetlamp. See you soon!” With those words Lucy hung up, without having realized that it hadn’t been Ariel who picked up. No, Ariel had forgotten her phone in someone else’s apartment. |

Sleep. Something Moonbeam didn't think she'd have to do on a regular basis anymore. But in the cozy bed she had in her apartment the once dead girl was sleeping soundly. The ex-corpse had stirred in her bed when the phone rang. She woke up, slightly annoyed and followed the sound. Eventually it lead her to a cellular phone. One that wasn't her own. Still, it didn't stop her from answering. “Hello?” Moonbeam couldn't get over it for a moment, how tired her voice sounded. She cleared her throat and listened to the other end. As the other end was talking, the living girl tried to explain, “I'm sorry, I'm not. ...No you don't under-....Wait!” Then the other line clicked. Moonbeam looked at the name of who called, “Lucy.” She then recognized the case being Ariel's. The girl sighed, and decided she couldn't leave this 'Lucy' waiting. She didn't bother to change from the sweat pants and AC/DC tee shirt she was wearing and simply put on shoes and a coat. Stuffing some items into the coat pockets. Like a tazer and mace. Moonbeam was told she needed to protect herself a lot better now that she was human again. She headed for the area that Lucy was talking about. Having been a corpse for so long she knew the area well. Moonbeam was well aware of the tattoo shop. After a little while she was approaching the shop and could see Lucy standing. “Lucy?” She called out. “Are you Lucy?” She raised her hands to show nothing was on them, the ex-corpse was told to also be cautious when approaching people. She wasn't so invulnerable anymore. “Ariel left her phone in my apartment. I'm Dea-” She paused to clear her throat and spoke again, “I'm Moonbeam.” No point in calling herself the Dead Girl anymore. |

Lucy was waiting for what seemed like hours, who’d have thought that it would take Ariel such a long time to come see a once in a lifetime experience. Lucy sat down on the ground and poked into the sidewalk, digging a hole in it with her nail. This was vandalism, not the biggest kind, but a little and it made Lucy feel bad and dangerous. It was exhilarating and she liked it. Was that a bad thing? Maybe, but it was still fantastic. After a while, the hole was deep enough for her to put half her index finger into it and then she heard a voice call out her name. She looked up excited to see Ariel, but was met with the sight of someone she didn’t recognize, who was that? She blinked a few times, not sure if her sight was so influenced that she was thinking that Ariel had turned into a normal skinned, long haired brunette. ”Are you Lucy?” The girl asked and Lucy stumbled back up on her feet, “Yeah. I’m Lucy.” She said and smiled widely at the person who approached her, thinking she looked nice. Hell, everyone looked nice. And even if she wasn’t nice, what was she to do? Stab her with a knife that would break? “Ariel left her phone in my apartment. I'm Dea- I’m Moobeam” Lucy widened her eyes and realized that this had been the woman she had talked to and not Ariel. It was a complete stranger, who had come anyway and Lucy teared up a little and smiled, opening her arms and walked over to the girl and hugged her. “You are a good soul! You’re a very good person!” she said and looked at the girl, “You look rather shaken though. I’m sorry if I’m overwhelming you…” she looked around and then looked at the girl, “I’m a bit drunk” she whispered. |

The sudden grip on her made her tense up. Normal sudden movement didn't bother her when she was dead, but that time around it surprised her. Moonbeam reached her hand to pat Lucy on her back as she complimented her good soul. “No. Not at all. I'm not used to being cautious. When Lucy whispered that she was drunk the ex-corpse nodded and replied, “I can tell.” After a beat of a moment had passed Moonbeam took in a deep breath and asked, “Shall we leave now?” She didn't wait for Lucy to answer. Instead she took a few steps forward and hoped Lucy would follow. The wall that made up her raised guard wasn't so high anymore, she just wanted to get home and sleep more. It was odd how different her life had become since she was revived from death. They started to walk down the sidewalk when the drunkard who was hitting on Lucy earlier, not that Moonbeam saw him, had returned for round two. With slurred words and an alcoholic smell he spoke to Lucy, “Come on -hic- honey. I can walk you -hic- home.” Moonbeam glowered at him and reached into her pockets. With the mace in one hand and the tazer in the other she held them out in front of her and had the appropriate ends facing the drunkard. “You get to choose: the mace, the tazer, or walk away.” He regarded her for a moment before the mace and tazer focused into his beer goggle eyes. They widened before he stumbled away and tried his best to run. Moonbeam waited for a moment before returning the items into her coat pockets. She looked at Lucy and calmly spoke, “Shall we?” |

As she asked if they should leave, Lucy nodded and started to skip down the street next to the stranger and enjoyed the feeling of the wind against her face as it danced around in her hair and she enjoyed bouncing up and down. “So where are we going?” she asked and stumbled a bit when her shoe stomped against a crack in the sidewalk. “Oops!” she giggled and looked up at Moonbeam. “Oh, I should warn you. I’m actually very st-“ Lucy was cut off when the nice drunk came up to them. “Come on -hic- honey. I can walk you -hic- home.” For some reason Lucy found this really funny. What was he going to do? Walk her all the way over to the institute? And what would he do there? Try to get with her? Not only was she so strong that she could cut him like a twig, but the institute was filled with quite protective mutants. Even if he only walked her a few blogs, he wouldn’t be able to do anything. It was so cute that she couldn’t help but to laugh. Moonbeam got out a tazer and a mace and threatened the guy and Lucy laughed even harder. How cute was that? The girl protected them. It was too much for her to handle and her stomach started to hurt from her laughter. “Oh this is too good.” She got out and wrapped her arms around herself. As the guy walked away, Lucy dried her eyes from tears and looked at Moonbeam, “Yes. We shall.” She started to walk in whatever direction not really sure where she was heading. “You know, you really didn’t have to do that. But I think it was very brave of you. So are you a mutant? You know Ariel and mostly it’s only mutants who accept her as she is. She’s a really great girl, but it seems like people can’t really look past her exterior. It’s sad.” |
