POWERS

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Aerokinesis

The ability to psionically manipulate the direction, force, flow, speed and move of the air as well as generate and control the wind around oneself via air particles. She, however, has still not gained the ability to control the density of air. However, with the strength of her abilities so far she can create and compose gust, breezes, whirl-winds. Basically strong gusts of wind as well as vacuum the air around someone. When she grows stronger she will be able to make things big enough such as tempests and tornadoes.

In an almost telekinetic way, Lily can move and lift objects utilizing the movement of air. She can push, pull, lift, throw and maneuver objects. At the moment, the lighter the object is the more ease she can move it with. In terms of heavier objects, Lily is still practicing to gain more adeptness at lifting them. Currently, she is able to life a human being weighing at 250 lbs, but this takes great concentration at most.

As well as basic lifting and throwing, she can focus the air and wind into a stream fast enough like a blast. As with any other type of blast she can stream it continuously, making it more like a beam. They can range in power, varying form from a small push to the concussive force. However, unlike a more skilled aerokinetic, such as Wind Dancer, she cannot change the density of the wind. She cannot make her wind blast sharp to slice or hard enough to break something. She can only use it to push and move things..

Also, utilizing the ability to lift things, Lily can give herself or others the ability of flight. However, her current strength can only be concentrated on one person at time and no more. She can fly a couple hundred feet in the air and she can stay up there for awhile depending on how high, though her average time is hour to an hour-and-a-half of flight. While in the air she cannot use any other form of her powers, but she is quite the good aerial-combatant, by combining her ability to fly and the training she’s received since her time at the school. Depending on the speed that she makes the wind move, she can fly at a about 20-90 mph, but must be careful when moving at faster speeds. Again, without the ability yet to change the density of wind, she is unable to shield her body from the effects of traveling too fast.

WEAKNESS:

Lily's powers are greatly connected to her emotions. Though, she is normally a bubbly, happy girl, which gives her good control of her ability, she is still a normal person like anyone else and has other emotions. If angry, depressed, etc., these do have major impacts on the control of the wind. When angered, she can be known to accidentally create stronger gusts of wind without meaning to. When depressed or fatigued, her powers are much less dynamic and will only cause a soft breeze. If frightened or scared, she may send a blast of wind in any direction, but usually toward the person doing the frightening, and at not the most friendly of speeds.

Also, she does have a cap on the amount of power she can use, and they will stop working. Not only that, but any strenuous use of her powers will manifest slight nose-bleeds and migraines, up to fatigue and black outs. Now depending on what she was doing the “shorting-out” of her ability or black outs can be for a relatively short period, such as an hour or the rest of the day, or as long as the whole next day.

PERSONALITY

Lily was raised at a young age in the world of of child beauty pageants. While this does give her belief in a sense of propriety, she has since grown away from such a life, and has a simple love of silliness. This does not mean that she acts in an immature way, but loves things that make her giggle, and is very entranced with pretty and shiny things.

She is also very much a girly-girl. Things such as getting dirty, bugs, and uncleanliness disturb her. She can be a tad bit overbearing when these sort of things come up, almost downright annoying, as she complains about them. These can be residual feelings from her upbringing, where she believes everyone should take these sort of things into consideration.

However, she is generally a very sweet-natured girl at heart. She does her best to be kind and helpful to those she meets, but this isn't always the case, and sometimes the kindness can come off forced. Also, there is a darker side to her. Some of the prejudices of the south still linger in her. Not to say that she is racist, but she has a hard time accepting those that have characteristics outside of being human. Those that may have an in-human skin tone (blue, green, red), fur, or appendages that they shouldn't (tails, horns, etc.) make her feel uncomfortable.

Also, there a moments when she can become quiet and withdrawn. Though she may come off a bit froo-froo, Lily is highly contemplative on the nature of what the world has dealt herself and those around her. During these times, she may become depressed and moody, and tends to lock herself up in her room... or in the Danger Room.

In regards to training, a whole new persona takes hold of Lily. She is a determined fiend at tasks and schoolwork, and especially in regards to training. She has grown to see her training as the most necessary thing provided to her from the school, and sometimes her kindness can falter if someone gets in her way. She most certainly takes on a competitive nature if the lesson becomes a competition.

HISTORY: PRE-APOCALYPSE

Lillian Adair was raised in a large townhouse outside the small town of Scottsboro, AL. She was born with a silver spoon to the mouth, as Billy Adair owned the most lucrative meat company in the northern part of the Yellowhammer state. They had a large plot of land, nothing to need for, and a desperate desire to keep up with all societal functions to that of the more esteemed. So, Billy and Cynthia, a stay-at-home mother, had decided that their beautiful girl would grow into a woman that would be part of the upper crust of the great south.

Lily only knew the love of her parents at a young age, and never the design in their plans to teach her that there were those inferior, and those above. Her parents had their prejudices and she had her play. She loved being out in the gardens, enjoyed playing with the staff's other children, and dearly loved to play dress up in as many disney princess dresses as she could. She was, in fact, a very girly girl. But she was rarely allowed to mingle with anyone outside their wealth status for long, and her parents kept her safely tucked away in their home for most of her young life (outside of private school, of course).

The little blonde was raised on manners, and throughout her growth, her mother put her through the role of pageantry and dance lessons. Lily had a natural talent for dance, both contemporary and ballet, and she utilized these talents and her proper etiquette to win many a pageant throughout the country. As she became a teenager, it gave her a competitive nature, though she never lost her kindness toward others. No matter what her parents believed, Lily could find no wrong in others unless they wronged her first.

School life helped her escape their trap even more so. She was liked by many a student for her kindness and by teachers for her determination to succeed scholastically. Yes, there were those students that were just like her family, cold and cruel to those they thought below them, and had even made attempts to persuade her to do the same. However, she refused to give up the belief that all humans should be treated as equal, just like they taught in school.

Life was normal as normal could be for the rich little girl. It was just always the same in a small town like Scottsboro... until it wasn't...

for the world.

DURING APOCALYPSE (April 7th through April 12th, 2009)

The first sign of the Apocalypse that truly affected Lily and her family was when Famine struck. Her father's meat company took a huge hit for the lack of resources, but, of course, these were the least of their worries. News began to spread of the terror throughout the world, and the gossip of it moved like wild fire through the Southern Upper crust.

Safety zones had been set up for civilians to take cover as things grew worse, and, being a part of a family that could buy most things, Lily and her parents were afforded safety immediately. Being only just about to turn the ripe age of twelve, Lily really didn't understand much of what was going on. She knew that things were falling apart, the the very foundations of the earth shook, but it seemed that the south was very lucky indeed. She remembered hearing that the areas closest to the ocean coasts seem to receive the most devastation.

During the entire time, she only clung to her parents. They were her saving grace, the one true safety she understood most, and she knew deep in her heart that they would always keep her safe.... for as long as they loved her.

POST-APOCALYPSE

When things had finally come to a point of normalcy, the Adairs went back to their beaten and battered estate. Her twelfth birthday was forgotten, her town was broken, and she watched as others were put to work to build things back to the way they were. Once school had resumed, Lily was sent back, and her father started his business up once more.

However, the world itself had changed.

Her father's business was losing itself fast. Near enough meat supply was still scarce after the tirade of Famine, and the business was having a hard time having the supply to meet the demand. He would come home in fits of rage, speaking of money and business. They were thing she didn't understand. He never harmed his wife or daughter, but his words could sometimes wound if she made a mistake, and she watched him begin to drink his feelings away.

Her mother, in turn, succumb to numbness. She seemed to take both the world and Billy's change the hardest, having lost cousins that lived in California. The woman was prone to memory loss, fatigue, and migraines that kept her locked in her room for days. Lily was left to be tended to by the staff, and she was both happy to have more time with their children, but overcome with emotion for the distance of her parents.

Lily also witnessed the devastation that the Apocalypse took on those less fortunate than she. People had lost their homes, lost their family members and friends, lost everything. To grow up quickly was a hard lesson to learn, and the girl did so as she finally began to understand the harsh truths of life around her. Sorrow filled her heart for those she could not help, and it seemed it was the first time that she had ever been truly anything but happy.

And in this wake of emotions, coupled with her growth through puberty, her powers awakened.

One day on her way home from school, when her mother had forgotten to pick her up or send the staff, one unfortunate soul had come upon her. The man had needed money, and had begged the poor twelve year old to assist him. When she reassured him multiple times that she had none, and tried her best to get away, he had tried to attack her. Lily, in her defense and coupled with her surprise, had caused the very air to fling the man deep into the woods beside them. She heard him crash into several branches, but was lost from her sight.

She had never harmed anyone before, never felt the need to do so, and was devastated to find that he never came back out. To this day, she was unsure if she had killed the poor man. But it left her with two things, a knowledge that she had a gift, and that she should never use it to harm someone again.

PURIFIERS

With the dwindling loss of finances, Billy Adair turned to the one place he thought would save his family and himself from meeting the streets. As the organization of the Purifiers began, Billy sold his meat business, and built one of the first operation bases for the Purifiers in the great Cotton state. Lily's mother, now awakened from her zombie like state with a project, decided to join him as well.

However, Lily, now at the age of 15, had grown to understand that she and her parents did not see eye to eye on many subjects. This one would be the biggest disagreement of all, especially since she, herself, was a mutant. In fear that they would find out, Lily sent out a broadcast online for help. Initially, this was a huge mistake. She received quite a deal of hate mail when the message stated that she was a mutant looking for help, but thankfully left very little information for anyone threatening to find her.

At long last, an Xavier staff member was able to contact her, and she agreed to join them at the school. On August 1st, they arrived to take her from her parents. Both Billy and Cynthia struggled to resist anyone from taking their precious daughter away, and denied her the chance to escape the prison they built for her. It wasn't until Lily turned to them, determination and hurt splashed plainly across her face, and stated, "I am a mutant," that they let her go. Neither one continued to protest, and the last she ever saw from them was a look of detest on both their faces.

Their prized, perfect girl was something horrific.

The first month at the Institute was hard on Lily. It was, once again, a private school in a sorts, so things almost came naturally when she joined in on classes. Yet, the thought of how her parents had easily let her go haunted her. It made ability training hard, as she found that the stronger her emotions, the more her powers resisted her control. Things only got worse from there.

On August 29th, Lily received word that both of her parents were gone. In a raid against mutants, both Cynthia and Billy had been killed in their own foolish attempt to blow up a shelter that was believed to house mutants in Alabama. She had made plans to travel back for the funeral that following week, only to find out that the bombs would keep falling.

On September 1st, the explosion and destruction of the Xavier Institute was a horrific event that Lily had never expected to find herself involved in. She had come to the school for safety from those that would hate her kind, only to find that the institute had become a war zone itself.

Luckily, she had survived relatively unscathed from the bombing. However, Lily would not let her fear and recent sorrow stop her from doing what she knew she must. With the deaths of her family in the same fashion, and the large quantity of students who had not been as lucky as she now trapped, Lily took to helping her fellow students escape the rubble. Her determination and resolve had returned, and she lifted piles of debris for students with the wind, before utilizing the them to move those students who were badly injured to safety.

Not only that, but when the Purifiers came to attack them, she fought back with as much force as she could. She called upon the wind to guide her, and blew back forces, sending them to those that could stop them the most. It had been a moment that stayed with her forever. She had decided that she would not be like her parents, though she still truly loved and missed them. She would be someone who stood up for those who could not stand up for themselves, and help those less fortunate that she.

When Mr. Summers offered them the chance to either go home or escape to Utopia, Lily knew what her answer would be. Even though, she wouldn't have been able to go back anyways now that her parents were gone, her heart chose Utopia. She would stay with the people that would train her to save the world.

SKRULLS

If Lily had ever thought she was far from home when she had joined the Xavier Institute, she was surely mistaken when they found themselves in their new temple home in the Savage Lands. Things were most certainly not the creme de le creme here, and she still had to deal with the loss of her parents. Not only that... but there were strange bugs everywhere!

However, Lily quickly put these things aside. Instead, she did her best to help out in anyway she could to get people settled in, and acquainted with their new home (calling on some of the males to kill crazy bugs when needed!). But really, the insects become the least of everyone's worries.

The appearance of Rachel Summers hasdno real effect on Lily, and she didn't truly understand what this meant for everyone. However, dinosaurs attacking did cause a bit of a havoc on things... and then finally, when she began to lose her mind to the invasion of the brood, things were once again, really not well.

She, unfortunately, became one of the victims to completely succumb to the Brood Queen's reign, fighting against her friends, fighting for a cause she had no reason to understand. To this day, Lily has hard times remembering just what exactly took place during the battle. All she knew was that the cure had come. They were relinquished from the Skrull's control, and after the cure was given to the world, they were finally free from complacency.

CURRENT HISTORY

Nightmares sometimes plagued her after the Skrull event, reliving fragmented moments where she was under control. However, Lily did her best to put a foot forward. She had always tried hard to look on the brighter side of things, and this would not stop her in her determination to do great things for the world. Actually, it made them stronger. It also made her need to be silly and positive greater as well.

But it seemed, no matter the amount of positivity she could impose into the world, it fought back to beckon on negative energy. She watched as New York was devastated by waves upon waves of the ocean, and sea creatures that rendered the city into horrible chaos... Why would things like this keep happening?

At least one good thing came for them all, the school was rebuilt. Leaving behind the temple (and the disgusting bugs), they were all moved back into a place they could all call home once more. But with it brand spanking new, she wasn't alone in the joy of seeing a fresh new face to the Xavier Institute even though she had only been their a month when they last lived there.

But as always, things still continue to grow worse for the world. The KillYourHeroes Video emerged, nightmares began, crime rates went up, but above all else... Mr. Summers was murdered. Their leader. Their friend. He was... gone. Lily took his death very hard, even with the limited amount of time she had gotten to know him. Her emotions had gone haywire, and her powers were a mess. But her resolve came when the worst of all would come.

Mr. Summers was resurrected into a monster, and members of their faction were disappearing. At first, Lily thought only to succumb to her rage, and was usually found creating whirlwinds and rapid speeds of wind in the Danger Room. Her powers were almost completely out of control... until she realized something. She would not give in to letting her emotions and powers control her. She would control them.

In the days leading up to the school attack, Lily took to training, honing her skills. From releasing all that tension in the Danger Room, her sweet side was back when interacted with those in the halls of the school. But her determination had never faltered in or out of training. When the time came for them to take down the Dark X-Men, and hopefully she'd be there when they did, Lily would be ready, and she wasn't going to Miss Nice Guy when it did.

SAMPLE RP POST:

Lily smiled brightly at Timothy as he helped carry her school books for her. "You know you don't have to do that," she chuckled softly to him, blushing at his attempts to be a chivalrous boy. Though her tone slid with honey, and she placed a kind hand on his arm, she really had no intentions of being anything but friends with him. It was rather sweet what he was doing, but she really didn't want him getting the wrong impression. She just couldn't help it. She liked being nice.

"No, no. I got it," he looked back her with adoration. Too bad he wasn't watching where he was going, nor was she doing so for him, as he soon ran right into Samantha in his eagerness to help. Papers flew everywhere! Before they could even touch the ground, however, Lily gave a small wave of her hand. Each and every piece that had fallen from the girl hovered in the air while Timothy did his best to help Samantha up. It took a bit of concentration on Lily's part to hold them aloft, but once the other girl was righted, she transferred them all gently into a stack in the girl's hands.

"Thanks Lily!" Samantha replied happily, turning to Timothy with a glare. "And thanks a lot Timmy. You're lucky Lily was here to help. You really are the sweetest thing," Samantha remarked to the blonde, and Lily gave a small curtsy in reply.

As the other girl went about her way, and the pair continued down the hall, Lily finally remarked to the boy, "You know what, Timothy, let me have those back. I have to head off for a bit." She held out her hands for the transfer of books, only to notice that it seemed to have caused a forlorn expression on the boy's face. She smirked at him, gave a reassuring squeeze of his arm again, and slowly made her way toward the lift at the end of the hall.

The dark soldiers made their way stealthy through the ruined building, searching for the target. They were not armed with guns or weapons, but were skilled in the art of hand-to-hand combat. Not only that, but they were aptly trained to seek and destroy. So, there could be no way that they would lose this battle. It was basically programmed that they should win, and they knew it.

"I've got movement in the left corridor. Move, move, move," one spoke, and they stalked in unison toward the destination stated. Even though everything was eerily quiet, the man that gave the directive knew that their target was down that way. For a moment, each of them took up station against the wall right before the entrance to the left, listening softly for any sort of trigger that the target would come their way.

With two fingers, the one in front motioned for one of the dark soldiers to make his way round the corner. Ready to take down whatever was there, the second soldier followed orders immediately and obediently, and turned down the corridor where the target was. For seconds, the three other soldiers waited, ready to strike.

However, a sudden yell broke out, and the man that had first moved round the corner came flying back in flurry of wind. He made impact with the wall opposite the remaining men, and his head gave a loud, cracking thud as it made contact with the concrete. He slid to the floor... out cold.

"Shit. Let's do this," the leader squawked to the others, and they all turned down the corridor toward where the target lay. There, standing in the most menacing pose she could, was AeroDynamic. Dressed all in black as her usual training attire swent, she gave them all devishly evil smirk, fist up for the upcoming battle. "Get her!"

Flicking one of her right fist open, palm facing a soldier on the left, wind gusted forward at an unprecedented speed toward her second victim. He, just like the first, was knocked backward toward the wall, also taken down with the impact of the crash. 'Two down, two to go', Lily thought to herself, ready to take on the incoming men.

The third soldier, not the leader, had come up upon Lily while she had been blasting the other, and now had his arm around her to bind her in place. 'Gosh dang it!' she screamed at herself at her failure. She quickly pointed her hands toward him, and felt the wind pressure between them grow rampant. The soldier was flung back against the wall, and joined his fellow teammates on the floor.

It only left her and the leader, who had stopped when he thought that his man had finally got a hold of the girl. Now, however, his shock set aside, he charged her, ready to take down the silly little thing that was taking his men out left and right. But, just before he could reach her, Lily bent her legs into a push off, and soared high up into the air, flipping herself backward to bring a foot into the man's chin. And, instead of coming straight back down, she held herself in the air for a moment, making sure she was standing back upward as she floated.

With all the force she could, Lily plummeted down, foot first, toward the man's skull, and kicked him square across the face. As he fell to the floor in a slump, Lily lowered herself softly to plant a graceful foot upon the ground. She nudged the fallen man with her foot just to make sure he wasn't getting back up. That was that. All soldiers taken down.

"Simulation completed," a mechanical voice rang out, and the entire scene, soldiers and all, disappeared from view. Smirking into the empty Danger Room, Lily smacked her hands together as if clearing dust. Sweat slipped wildly down her forehead, and she wiped an arm across it in digust. Ugh, she could really use a shower. Turning toward the exit, a smirk slipped itself across her lips, and she felt a warm burst of pride.

My first and foremost issue with this comes from the powers. At one point you say she can generate squalls and tornados, which have the force and power necessary to life entire houses out of the ground and capsize large boats, then at another point you say she has trouble lifting heavy things. There's an issue of agreement there between potential and current level of skill/talent and I think You need to go back over the powers with a bit more of a comb to make them read better and mesh better.

Do you plan on making her homosexual/bisexual? Is that a goal? It doesn't really matter, I'm just curious as to why you said the one thing and then hinted at the other.

Personality's a little whacked too. Sweet Girls at heart don't generally foster prejudices, and while I'm not saying you can't play someone like that, you ought to at least be honest with yourself while writing it. All in all the personality needs a bit more rounding in general, as all I get from it is that she's a frilly little southern thang and that's not exactly a personality so much as it is a stock stereotype.

There's some things with the history needing addressed but I'll get with those once the powers and personality have been cleaned up a bit and expanded on.

Edited.

Sorry, the big powers were meant for later, but I wrote them out like she can do them already. *Facepalm*

As for the sexuality area, I just put it to heterosexual. I just didn't want to leave out that there were possibilities down the line if they did, in fact, com up, but those can be played out on the board if it does happen. She's heterosexual but I wanted to leave room to say her openness toward things could grow.

Lastly, I tried to change up the personality a bit more to give her depth, but I worry it still sounds a bit stereotyped.

Let me know what you think, because I'm ready to take on the history edits. I'm guessing they're extensive if you left them out, and after rereading it once again, I'm surprised I didn't see some of the glaring things already (e.g. what I did to her parents and her quickly overcoming it).

However, I'll wait for further instruction before I touch anything. :)

I am mostly okay with this now, save for the mention of the Brood. The only ones completely lost to the Queen (and thus fighting their friends) were Wither, Rahne, and Jack Russell. If you want to work Lily I to that crew, get ahold of me on AIM or over PM so we can discuss it, otherwise it needs changed.

Post here when you've decided either way.
