DISTINGUISHING MARKS: He has a couple scars on his back that seem like he was shot by electricity in the back.
CLOTHING STYLE: For the most part, Young prefers simple clothing. Often enough he is seen wearing a pair of jeans and a basic t-shirt. Despite him prefer comfort over looks, he does have a preference of what kind of clothing he wears. Often enough he would prefer to wear plaid shirts and blue jeans. His plaid shirt is sometimes interchanged with geeky types of T-shirts. But other than that, he wouldn’t be caught dead in designer brand items. Even the suit he owns, which he rarely ever wears, is a no brand suit.
UNIFORM: When Young is on his missions his clothing is mainly comprised of wearing tight leather uniform with a hood and a mouth mask on it. Altering the environment often, he would need to wear at least some protection from his environment whether it be from environmental situation like a storm or providing some protections against barbed plants. And since he deals with plants a lot, his uniform helps him deal with the more toxic or poisonous substances.

POWERS
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Environmental Manipulation- Terraform has the ability to create, destroy, and manipulate the “Source of Life” (Water) and the “Original Food of Life” (Plants). In certain respects, Young’s ability centers a rounding creating an environment inhabitable for multicellular organism, such as mutants and humans, with water (a source that all known living things require to survive) and plants (a multicellular organism that serves as an original food for all multicellular organisms as well as producer of oxygen).

In terms of manipulating water, he can pull water from the air and moisture around him. This allows him to perform feats such as causing it rain. For the most part, Young draws his water from around him even when it’s not easily seen. Sources he uses to generate water would be from the moisture in the air, clouds, nearby bodies of water, and water from the ground. He does not have the ability to manipulate water like other mutants with the ability to manipulate water in terms that he cannot move water mentally for offensive and defensive purposes. He can only displace and alter the state of water. This gives him to ability to make it rain lightly (unless he has a water source that can provide him with enough water to cause it to rain heavily) or create Geysers (again so long as the water is present in the ground such as sewers in the cities or underwater reservoirs). His abilities is heavily reliant on his surroundings. For example, on a clear day, he can only make it sprinkle lightly but if it was already raining he can loop the water to cause an area to continuously rain so long as he has the energy to maintain it. Producing water is only half of his abilities when it comes to water manipulation however, just like he can generate water from his surroundings, he can force water, in its liquid form, to a different state such as converting a pond into mist or moisture. This allows him to be more destructive with his abilities such as causing droughts in a particular area. It should be noted that the more he manipulates water the more dehydrated he gets. The theory behind why this is so is because he indirectly utilizes some of the water in his body when manipulating the water around him.

In terms of plant manipulation, he can generate plants from his surroundings to make them grow very rapidly. His plant accelerating ability allows him to cause tiny seeds to grow into large trees in a matter of seconds. Like water, he is ability is also limited to his environment. If he is in an area where there is a lack of plants to begin with he would have problems causing plants to grow. How can these plants grow in areas where plants aren’t as abundant one may ask? Young’s body actually has the ability to release spores into the air planting mutant made seeds around him however doing this often trains his body and he prefers not to utilize this ability if possible since it weakens him physically. This is most likely due to his body using chemicals and nutrients from within his body to create the spores to begin with. This is why he prefers to carry multiple pouches of seeds with him since this doesn’t physically deplete him as hard. Like his ability to manipulate water, he cannot control plants in terms of their movement which means that he cannot make vines attack a target at will. He can however alter the characteristics of the plants around him. Characteristics he can control are how tough the plant is (fire resistant or durable), oxygen production, CO2 absorption, rate of photosynthesis, air born toxin absorption and its soil requirements. These effects are usually temporary at best because if he pushes the plant to its limit it will die. Like how he can transition water out of its liquid state, Young can also degrade plants preventing multicellular organisms from consuming plants for food. The types of plants Young can grow varies on what kinds of seeds he is using. In terms of what kinds of spores his body can produce, he actually needs to study (know its chemical and biological composition and consume that particular species of plant in order to reproduce it.)

Plant Mimicry: Because Young’s ability often strains his ability if he isn’t careful, manipulating water dehydrates him, generating spores takes nutrients from his body, and using his ability takes a lot of energy out of him, his body has a mechanism that allows him to restore energy, nutrients, and water at a faster rate than a normal person would. Young can transform himself into a tree whose sole focus is to regain these depleted supplies. This ability can be tapped into in two different ways. The first way is that he can selectively turn into a tree, which he does instead of eating sometimes. The other is when he is almost fully depleted of supplies or is near death that his body automatically turns into his tree form. In this form he cannot move or speak. He is aware of his surroundings in foggy sense like being half asleep. He cannot activate his abilities while in this state. While in his tree form is he a lot tougher than most trees allowing him to withstand the elements such as natural disasters. However, if someone or thing was able to cut him down he will die. Aging during this time does slow down for him by around half meaning if he was in this form for 10 years, he would seem to have aged five years. It should be noted that he can use his abilities in this form as well but that would depend on if he hand enough energy to perform abilities to begin with considering that majority of the time he is in this form it is when he is low on energy.

WEAKNESS:
Despite the versatility of his abilities, most of his abilities lack offensive capabilities. Sure he can make a tree grow to cause his opponent to lose balance, but aside from that, he cannot really force a tree to attack a person. The same can be applied to his ability to manipulate water. He cannot shoot a wave of water at his opponent. It should also be noted that his ability does not work on living organisms meaning he cannot pull water right out of a person.

Maintaining his powers is also a factor to consider. The amount of energy Young spends performing specific tasks vary on the task itself. Some tasks require him to use energy upfront while other tasks requires him to spend energy constantly. For his ability to manipulate water, creating a geyser takes energy upfront to use while causing it to rain requires an energy over time model. Majority of his plant related abilities such as causing plants to grow rapidly and/or causing certain plants to have a special attribute usually requires him to constantly utilize energy. Though it should be noted that after the plant is matured, he no longer needs to put energy into it unless he wanted to degrade the plant. So if he were to create a forest, it would stay as a forest until the environment degrades it though factors such as lack or water, sunlight, soil property, etc… His spore generation requires him to utilize his energy upfront to create and release the spores into the air. It is because of all of these abilities that he can only last one, or two if he is luck, battles before needing to rest. His average endurance in battle is a couple hours before tiring down.

Because his abilities require a large amount of energy to perform he must maintain focus at all times. Disruption of his focus may cause stutters in his ability. If he were to grow a forest, he most likely cannot move. If he is trying to grow one or two trees, walking is his best he can do.

Just because Young has the ability to generate these affects does not mean that he is immune to them. If he were to grow multiple plants to create a forest of thorns, he isn’t automatically immune to being pricked. If he were to make it constantly rain, it doesn’t mean that he won’t get sick. If the geyser he creates is hot he would most certainly feel its effects like everyone else in the area.

PERSONALITY
When not performing his “extracurricular” activates, Young is quite the calm person. He is a strong promoter mutant rights. He likes peaceful activates such as playing chess or reading. This stems from his belief that he is a warrior of peace. Yes, he wants peace for his kind and one day, it will be achieved. But as a warrior of peace, he stands strong on his principles and beliefs not compromising for nothing less than peace for his people. There will be no negotiation or middle ground that Young will accept. Often enough people confuse his calm nature for being a push over but it is quite opposite. He is calm but stern at the same time coming off cold with his words at times. This is one of the reasons why he enjoys chess and reading. It reflects his calmer side of himself kind of like training for the future.

Other activates he performs include hiking and taking photographs where ever he goes. This is partly due to his appreciation and love for what the earth has brought them. Life has grown and evolved from nothing and it had always fascinated him. It is also partly due to him trying to develop his ability further by gathering plant samples to integrate into his body. Of course, if setting a forest and its inhabitance on fire for the greater good, he would be more than willing to do so. He had always thought such beauties should be savored while they last for a waterfall of today may be a battlefield tomorrow. In a sense he appreciates life and doesn’t take it for granted but at the same time understand why life must be taken to better the development of the planet as a whole.

With these qualities, one might wonder why it is that Young sides with the Brotherhood’s cause over that other more peaceful groups. The reason is quite simple actually. There is a time for words and then there is a time for action. With the looming conflicts, words can only patch conflicts not fix them. Even with the formation of the United States, the compromises made in the formation of the nation only stalled the civil war. No, when you have two groups fighting for power, only one will prevail in the end and Young would very much like his side to remain the victor.

Even though he was in hibernation for ten years, he did have consciousness with his surroundings. And even though he couldn’t move, he had a long time to ponder and think about the meaning of life. Often he would see people pass by him in his inactive state. He had witness a great deal of things. Some good some bad. Even though he didn’t physically or intellectually develop in that period, he had obtained one thing, jealousy. Being stuck in the inactive form now knowing when he would change back has cause him to have a deep appreciation for life which is why he has an almost zero tolerance for those who do nothing productive in their lives. He has a deep hatred for those who do nothing but put their lives and the lives of others around them at risk. Rash decisions always lead to bad outcomes. This is why, under his calm exterior, he thinks before he acts. This is always why he holds his responsibilities to a high standards. If he said he is going to do something he will do it.

There was a downside from being inactive for so long, he is out of date. Even though he is calm and often times serious, he does have his quirky side. He often questions people on topics or subjects that people today find “odd”. For example, he still has trouble understanding how wi-fi works. Last he checked, going on to the internet required a sequence of beeping noises (dial-up). Technology is one of his main weaknesses as well. Often enough he would end up asking questions such as how call a person on a smart phone or how touch screens work. Not being in school also hinders his abilities to understand more complex subject such as physics and chemistry. This weakness however does push him harder to learn about this “new world” which is also a reason why he buries himself in books allot.

HISTORY: PRE-APOCALYPSE
Young was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and lived there with his mother and father until he was around 7 years old. His family then moved over to a Dubois, Wyoming. There he grew up to the age of thirteen where his ability began to manifest during one stormy night. Young and his family had decided to go on a camping trip, to be more specific a lodging trip because his mother idea of camping involved being in the wilderness but in a cabin and not a flimsy tent. Despite the strong winds and rain, they were pretty safe in the cabin. There was a public service announcement that did alert lodgers to stay in their homes while the storm passed so Young’s family did just that. They were sitting by the warm fire when suddenly there was a crackle in the air. Young never liked thunder. But he didn’t have much time to think about it when the window to their cabin blew up. The storm had gotten worse and it began to pour harder. In that very moment, Young screamed in fear causing all of the rain water to convert to moisture casing the once heavy rain to stop in its tracks. Young’s parents couldn’t believe it. It was like someone turned the faucet off in the sky. Little did they know Young had activated his ability for the first time in his life. As time went on, he would discover that he had mutant abilities such as making plants grow fast or generating water out of nothing, at the time he believe it to be nothing. He kept his abilities a secret from his parents fearing that they would think he was a freak. He was already a freak at school after all for loving to read and write.

But he would never put his abilities to the test like he would two years later when he was fifteen. Young went on a field trip with his class to visit the park once more. He couldn’t never put his finger on it, but had always had an affinity towards nature. It wasn’t like he could talk to animals or anything, he just found it peaceful to be hiking around enjoying the sites. Of course, the frilled trip was a science field trip and he had to keep a journal of all the planets found in the park but even that didn’t stop his excitement from going. Especially since he got to go with his childhood crush Sarah.

As they went through the wood’s Young tried to muster up the courage to initiate in a conversation with her. That’s right, he had never spoken to the girl he had a crush on and he figured that this might as well be the best time as ever to ask her out. There were less people here, only 20 students, his teacher, and the park ranger, so he felt less pressure from his peers. He had a fear that she would reject him and that everyone at school would know about it. If he were to do it here, he could possible ask when they were in the back of the group. If she said no then no one would know about it. By this time young had developed his abilities to a degree. He could perform basic feats such as causing plants to grow fast or making it sprinkle on a hot day.

Shocked an amazed at what had transpired, His mother and father kept his gifts a secret. As much as they tried not to show it, Young could tell in their eyes that they secretly feared what Young was capable of. It was also because of these gifts that his parents immediately pulled him out of school in order to be homeschooled. Of course it wasn’t all that bad. It basically meant that he could play video games right after “class” without wasting him taking the bus home from school. However, when he turned fifteen this all changed. In 2001, he found his first love. Her name was Sarah and she was the daughter of the town’s mayor. Despite being homeschooled, he has met Sarah when he was out with his father grocery shopping. While he was wandering the aisles on his own, he ran into Sarah. Well specifically she ran into him. Sarah was quite the trouble maker in town. Not because she liked stealing, but more because she liked the adrenaline of the chase. She was caught stealing from some of the customers in the grocery store and was on the run. Unluckily, or luckily depend on how you see it, she ran into Young when she wasn’t looking.

Sarah was a bit of a trouble maker back than and every time Young tried to must up the courage to speak to her, she would ways be too distracted from her surroundings. She was a tomboy and loved adventure. Where Young was interested in nature, she was interested in exploring and taming it. After most of the day had ended, the group started to make their way back to their cabin for the night. The Park Ranger had to leave to take care of an animal attack so he had left young and company around noon but he did give his teacher specific instructions to head back to the cabin by 3pm and not to stray from the path. Even though the teacher specifically told the students not to leave his sight, Sarah didn’t seem to have gotten the memo.

During one of their breaks, Sarah had slipped out of the teacher’s site when he was on his phone to explore the forest. Of course she wasn’t planning on running off in the woods, she just wanted to explore close to the trail. Young worried for her safety, and also excited that they would finally be along, followed her into the woods.

Sarah, confused as to why Young, the nerdy boy in her class, would follow her. Losing the courage to say his feelings, he just told her that he wanted to get more notes for his journal which wasn’t too farfetched. As they explored, they both noticed that it was getting late and decided to head back. But as they were heading back, it had occurred to them that they were lost. Completely utterly lost. They couldn’t seem to find the trail no matter where they went. By the time they stopped to rest, it was already 4:00pm and no doubt their teacher in a panic. Young could only imagine the punishment they would receive once or if they were found. To make matters worse, as they were talking they began to hear strange noises in the woods. It was getting a lot darker now to the point where they could barely see around them. So they decided to take shelter by a couple of rocks believing that if they had their back against the wall they would have full vision if anyone or anything came close to them.

When night came and the temperatures dropped, Sarah and young huddled together to keep each other warm. Then they noticed something big moving in the woods bushes in front of them. It was a bear and no matter what training or precaution both Young and Sarah where told, they couldn’t help but scream casing the bear to take notice of them. Immediately it came over to investigate the sound. That was when Young used his ability to try and fend of the beast. However, his abilities only made the brush grow larger entangling the bear but not stopping it. Unknown to Young, his fear had cased his ability to make it rain. It was like adrenaline, he had no control over it and when his adrenaline kicked in so did the rain in this situation.

In a sense the rain did help as the bear stopped following them. But it had ultimately caused problems as the floors began to get muddy. After what seemed to be hours of running, Young began to get hydrated. The magnitude of the rain he was creating, since there was a nearby waterfall he had a large amount of water to pull from, was causing his body to fatigue more than normal. When they were running up hill, Young slipped and bumped his head on a rock knocking him unconscious. And that was the last he ever saw of Sarah or of anyone for that matter.

When he regained consciousness, he felt odd as if he know what was going on around him but yet he didn’t physically see anything. It was as if he could sense his surroundings. TV all at the same time. What was weirder was that he couldn’t feel his limbs. It wouldn’t be until a couple minutes later did he realize that he had transformed into a large tree. During his time in this state, his mind was challenged. He know what was going on around him but yet he couldn’t communicate with anyone one or thing around him. Often his consciousness would fade in and out between darkness and awareness. Days became months and month became years. His mind began to mature during this state. Often enough he would feel the presence of hikers walking by. Sometimes kids sometimes adults. Often he would get bits and pieces of news from them such as the talk of mutants and the like. It wouldn’t be a big event to occur before he would wake up.

DURING APOCALYPSE (April 7th through April 12th, 2009) During the apocalypse was when Young regained consciousness. His body had been recovering from over exerting itself at a young age. He had used up to much energy and not to mention his head injury would have been considered fatal if his did not turn into the tree. It began in darkness. Young’s consciousness was fading in and out like had always been when suddenly he felt a large jerk. Because he was located in a park, not many things were occurring in the Yellowstone National Park. Away from the chaos of the four horsemen’s. No, it was Apocalypse that caused Young’s awakening. When Apocalypse unleashed the Eye of Horus, the world shook and Young felt it in his decade old roots. He immediate reverted back to his human form now slightly older and wiser than his fifteen year old self. Young confused as to what was going on and how he revered back, used his ability to navigate through the woods. Unlike when he was younger, Young grew knowledgably of his surroundings. After all he had 10 years of listening to passerby’s discussing where certain places in the park were located. It was a touch hike though since the ground shook as if it was about to split. Once he had found a park ranger’s post, he had noticed it abandoned. Something was going. Something big that had caused all of the animals in the area to vanish into silence. Once he had found a spare of clothing, being naked in the woods isn’t the best feeling ever, at the station he turned on the TV to see what was going on. Unfortunately, the TV station in the area must have been knocked out since he couldn’t get a signal.

He looked through the stations draws for any keys to the ranger’s car which was parked next to the station. Truth be told it took some time before he could drive half decently. He was still trying to get his permit when he turned into a tree so his driving skills was near zero. After an hour or so of crashing into tree trucks and buildings, he had enough skill with the car to drive out of the park which, to this day, he considered his greatest achievement. Once he reached a town, it too was deserted. That or everyone was hiding in the homes. The Earthquake continued to rage for some time and Young could only do nothing but wait out to see what would happen.

He didn’t have to wait long apparently, as one of the towns sheriff came out to greet Young. Inquires as to why he was doing out in the open, Young didn’t know what to say until the skies began to grow darker. It immediately began to rain heavily causing the townspeople who were hiding in their homes to cry in fear. Lighting and thunder could be seen and heard from not too far away from the town. Not to mention the earthquakes kept coming in intervals. The sheriff immediately pulled Young into a house as lightning began to strike closer and closer to the town. As they all ducted for cover, lighting began to strike the lightning rods on the roofs of the buildings. Normally, the rods should keep the town safe but this lightening was different. It was more intense then normal lighting. Immediately one of the lightning strikes broke through the roof of one of the building and Young could see it from behind the window of the sheriff’s station.

He had to do something and it was then that he remembered his childhood. How the rain had stopped. He immediately ran outside in an attempt to stop the rain thinking that it may stop the lightings as well. The sheriff tried to stop him but he wasn’t going to jump out in the middle of the streets in order to save a “lunatic”.

As he raised his hands he couldn’t seem to stop the rain or the lighting. After standing in the middle of the streets for a couple minutes he actually almost got hit by the lighting. At that point he felt helpless to save the others. And then it dawned on him. Lightning rods could be the key to solving the issue. Immediately he began focusing his energy into his body and after some time turned himself into the largest tree he could possibly be. By doing this all of the lighting was redirected towards him. He reinforced his bark to make it quite strong and ever strike from a lightning bolt felt like he was being stabbed by a knife. He tried again to stop the rain and this time it seemed to have worked. Suddenly the storm seemed to have vanished and Young was stuck again in his try form trying to recover. But this time it was different. This time, Young’s body was mature enough to handle the damage and the energy consumption. It wouldn’t be until Apocalypse was defeated that he was able to revert back into his normal humanoid form.

POST-APOCALYPSE After changing back to his normal form, he wasn’t greeted with that much enthusiasm as he would have wanted. The townspeople feared him and they did not want anything to do with them. Apparently, the categorized him and the apocalypse as one in the same. Young quickly left the town after being “pushed” out by a mob of the townspeople. The only person who kept him from being beaten to a pulp was the sheriff who help create some distance between the mob and Young. He also gave Young the keys to his personal car to leave before things got ugly. Even though the town people didn’t appreciate what he did, at least one person did.

During this time, he spent much of his time back tracking what had happened to his friends and family back home. He had searched and searched through the smoke and ash to find his mother and father. He traveled to their old home in hopes of finding them. Apparently, according to their neighbor who didn’t seem to recognize Young, his mother and father did not survive the catastrophe which as the apocalypse which had upset him deeply to this day. He was so close. One city away from his family and now he would never see them again. He didn’t tell anyone in town who he was in fear he would get the same reaction as the last one he had visited. That was until he ran into someone very familiar. His old crush Sarah. It didn’t take long for Sarah to recognize him. The moment she locked eyes on him she immediately began cry yelling that it was his fault for all of this happened. She knew he was a mutant because she had witnessed Young turning into a tree in person. Ironically, it was the fact that Young’s tree was so abnormally tall the rescuers were able to find her. But he would never really know that for she immediately cried for help saying that Young’s kind was the cause of the towns suffering. In the last town Young had taken all of the lightning bolts that attacked the town. This one however wasn’t so lucky. Everything was in ruins around him. Why was there so much hate? Was he really that different?

PURIFIERS it wouldn’t be until his run in with the Purifiers that Young’s views on human and mutant kind would solidify. Young didn’t leave his home town after the apocalypse event. He didn’t have anywhere else to go. He stayed in one of the temporary camps until the town could rebuild. It was then that he learned more about the events that had happened when he was “gone”. Up until this point, Sarah had avoided Young as much as possible not even looking at him. However, it wouldn’t be news of the recent mutant attacked did it really strike a core with Young. It was what he feared the most. Extermination. The world is falling apart all around him and he knew no one on his side. And it wouldn’t be until now did he have to decide on whether or not to side with humanity or mutant kind. He was preparing to go to sleep when suddenly Sarah appeared along with two other men. It would seem that the sudden attack on mutant has “encouraged” others to follow suit.

He remembered that moment where he looked into Sarah’s eyes and wondered if this was the same person he had a crush on for so long. With the gun pointed at Young he could see the crossroad clearer than ever. Young asked why she was doing it. And she responded that all mutant kind were a menace to society and if they didn’t exist her husband wouldn’t have been dead. It was also then that Young admitted having a crush on her as a child. It was weird confessing ones feeling for another. It took him ten years but he finally did it. He also asked if it was ever possible for mutant kind and humans to co-exist that she didn’t have to tread down this path. After a brief pause, she finally answered “disgusting” before attempting to pull the trigger.

But before she could do so a large tree burst from below her and the two men causing them to be trapped in the tree branch. Young had made precautions in the event that something like that were to happen. Purifier or not, he was not going to die by the hands of a human. Sarah, his last hope in humanity had turned away from him. It would be because of that, that he would turn his back on humanity. There was an idea floating around that humanity wasn’t ready for mutants. Well ready or not Mutants are here and whether they like it, they are here to stay.

He would leave his hometown for good wandering from town to town as a drifter. But he wasn’t just wandering from town to town for no apparent reason. He was in search of a new home. One that would welcome him. And between his travels, when he was alone, he would train his abilities to prepare himself. War has begun and Young was in no position to be causing trouble. Over in the Wyoming, the battles that take place between mutant and humanity seem like a story from a distant land. But they were real very real. Which was why Young spend the rest of his time when not on the road with someone training physically and mentally for the day he would join his brothers and sisters in battle.

SKRULLS By the this time he had finally found his brothers and sisters. The Brotherhood was his calling and he joined them without a forethought. Their cause was what mutant kind needed, action. Under the Brotherhood, he received the training he could not normally obtain when on his own. It was here that he learned to utilize his ability to a higher potential. At glance, his abilities may seem positive as they provide the essential components for life however, under the brotherhood, he learned how to take them away. It was also during this time that he received his codename Terraform. One day, this world can be inhabitable for mutant kind. Till then he will fight with his brothers and sisters side by side.

His training was put on hold though due to the Skrull “situation”. The Brtoherhood had called Young to aid in the battle against the Skrull. He fought to protect Sanctuary and its hidden location until he fell prey to the Skull’s compliancy waves. He would not remember what happened until after the wave was removed and the Skrull threat silenced.

CURRENT HISTORY
Currently, Terraform has refined his abilities to make him more deadly in combat. His training has allowed him to become stronger in strategizing and calculating his victories rather than heading into battle blind. He has also tapped into working in team efforts applying his ability to altering the battlefield in the Brotherhoods favor if need be. Currently he is on standby in Sanctuary, in fact he hasn’t recalled the last time he left Sanctuary. It was odd really, he thought that the Brotherhood would use him for an assignment by now, but then again, After the Skrull incident, things have slowed down or have they? Rumors have been running around that Namor is planning something big. Most people have their money that the old man from the sea may be declaring war on the surface dwellers. If that was true, then the brotherhood would have more than just pesky humans to deal with.

SAMPLE RP POST:
Young gave a loud sigh as he walked around up the hiking trail. How long has it been since he been since he has been away from Santuary? He had to admit, he loved the place like the next guy but being away does feel nice for a change. Even if it was to cause a little distraction for the rest of his teammates. As he walk along the sidewalk crowded with people he would occasionally drop a seed or so on the floor. As he looked around he noticed how people were so invested in their smart phones. Really, what is the benefit for having one of those gizmos? What makes them so smart anyway? Then again the bigger questions should be if those were smart phones, would all other phones be considered dumb phones?

No matter, young continued to drop small seeds the size of a pebble on the floor. AS this occurred, he then proceeded to check his watch. Interesting, he was ahead of schedule by a whole ten minutes. Young looked around again as if looking for something to keep his mind off the butterflies in his stomach. Why did he have to be the distraction? Then again, Young did have an abilities to cause a big scene without him revealing his identity as a Brotherhood mutant. All he really had to do was snap a finger and BAM! Distractions made.

As he continued to walk he noticed a flower store and walked in. The smell of flowers and cheap perfume was strong enough to knock a person out in here. Young was never really a fan of strong perfume. It gave of that fake smell. As he entered the women on the counter didn’t even bother to look up at him. People these days. So invested in their phones. Young entered further into the shop to scan its inventory.

For a cheap flower shop, this place did have a large assortment of plants. Indeed it was impressive. Then all of a sudden, the lady took notice of Young’s presence. Young greeted her with a smile. The best thing about being Asian was that you can play the perpetual foreigner role. All you had to do was speak you native tongue and they would think you’re a tourist. Before he could continue his conversation with the lady about what flowers he was going to buy, his watch beeper went off. Looks like it’s time.

Young walked out of the store and looked at the crowds of people staring at their phones. Honestly they make this job to easy. With one clap all of the seeds burst out of control and large trees started to grow in its place. The roots of thee seeds dug deep into the ground breaking the concrete. Immediately people began to scatter along with Young. He wasn’t going to be some idiot who stands there admiring his work. He needed to blend with the crowd and create a distraction and that is exactly what he is doing. Let’s hope the others can get their job done.

As Young ran with the crowd, he looked back to notice the trees continues growth. He then noticed something approaching from now to far of in the distant. Well, this will be an interesting mission that is for sure.

Hey Terraform, welcome to XMR!

Btw if you have a nickname or other handle (other than your character name) that we can know you by, feel free to put it as your name in the player information section. I have some edits for you, so bear with me and if you need help just ask me or another member of staff to assist you.

I’ll start with the minor note that your timeframe is rather out of sync. You have him born in 1984, but say he’s 25. He’d be 28, due to turn 29 as it is currently 2013 in game.

1. Powers - Okay, there’s some interesting things here but you have waaaay too much going on. You need to scale it RIGHT back. Just pick weather control, or plant life control, or even like hydrokinesis or something, but you can’t have EVERYTHING. Right now the fact he can turn an area into lava or stop/make a natural disaster is kinda OP, even with the limits. Please make a choice on what you want to focus in on. This can be discussed and there is room for a sensible combination of a couple of these abilities, but right now everything is too much together.

You need to think about the following, if you decide to use these elements: if he makes it rain, is he controlling the moisture in the air, or is he going to throw weather patterns out of whack? Same with tornadoes, snow, etc. For instance, Storm does not just ‘make’ weather, she bends weather patterns. I appreciate the fact you’re saying he can’t control weather, but he cannot be creating something from nothing. This is what I mean about you have to focus in on one or two sensibly combined elements.

Also, I really need to see a better reason for the hibernation thing. Why is it important that he’s chronologically 25, but his body is 20, but he looks 15? It doesn’t add up, especially as he doesn’t even read much like a 15 year old. What is the real, driving reason for this? How does it add to the character, other than making him uneducated and socially awkward?

2. Personality - it’s fine if he appreciates nature and likes photography but the Brotherhood of mutants is a destructive, terrorist organisation that runs like a military. So for one, I need to see a bit more understanding of that, other than he’s okay with it.

Being socially awkward is fine, but no one in the Brotherhood is going to care about that and they won’t care about his level of education, unless it in some way ends up having an impact on a mission or his performance. And really you don’t want that to happen, as they won’t be forgiving.

It isn’t a bad personality, but you need to put a bit more thought into things so you don’t end up with a character who doesn’t fit the faction very well.

3. History - please be a little more careful about what you actually type - and this applies to the whole app - and give it a read through. If you check out the first paragraph of your history for instance, you repeat there was a blizzard at least 8 times and two of those instances were in the same sentence. You also have a few typos here and there and while I’m not going to make you go through the whole app or anything, I just want you to be more careful about thinking what you write.

Okay, anti mutant sentiments exist, as do attacks, but a kid and her father would not have just been executed by townsfolk like some 16th century lynch mob. Mutant killings happen, yes, but in this instance it seems to be so Young can have some hugely dramatic powers accident and destroy the town, then fall into his comatose state. It means the killing becomes about Young and not the poor girl and her father, which is why it leaves a bad taste.

Your early history is not bad, aside from this massive drama spike in it and again, I’ll reiterate that I am not convinced about the coma. You’re going to really need to make headway there.

Apocalypse - Famine never got as far as Minnesota. I’ll accept the facility went on lockdown though, but Famine didn’t touch this area. Also, Apocalypse happened in 2009, which means he’d have been in his coma for more like 7 years, if it started the year after he met his lady love. I won’t mention the thoughts on the hibernation again, but this point is relevant as you need to be more careful about time frames.

Post Apocalypse - Okay, honestly I’m not that comfortable with the doctors just keeping him a secret. That’s really unprofessional, plus considering what he had done it was far more likely that he’d be in a place that was either run by SHIELD or had links to them.

Purifiers - If he could just get up and leave, why hadn’t he already? I don’t really understand why he could only just walk in 2011 if he could use his powers back in 2009 to protect the facility. Why did the doctors fake his death? Again, that’s utterly unprofessional of them to have done that. But then what did he do once he left? Did he go to New York? That’s where most of the Purifiers action happened.

Skrulls - The actual timeline of the skrulls revealing themselves to the world and the end fight was actually a few days and the fact he pulls himself off to go train, while a worthwhile thing to go and do, comes off more as active avoidance of a plot. He could have gone and trained at any other time.

Current - You need to put in something about the Illuminati, such as Namor’s attacks, or Spiral’s #killyourheroes viral campaign, else explain what he’s been doing since the end of Skrulls (May 2012) to now in game (roughly September 2013). I appreciate this isn’t in the board history yet, so it is harder to sum up, so whatever thoughts you can add will just be proof that you can find out things and work them out for your character.

4. Sample - you meet the minimum word count, but you don’t tell us very much. The sample needs to show us how he acts and thinks and what we can expect from him in game. You don’t need to give us a novel, don’t worry about that. Some people find that a conversation with an NPC helps, just so long as it isn’t all hung on the NPC.

All in all, this is not a bad first attempt, just some areas need more thought and you need to either not avoid plots so much, or do so in a more logical manner. There’s potential, but especially with a cutthroat faction like the Brotherhood we need to know you understand and are ready to step up to the mark with them. As offered before, we’ll help you if you need it, otherwise please post once you’ve modified this application.

Hello!

I'm glad to be here!

First, I would like to thank you for your feedback. I did a major overhaul of the profile because, like you said, there were some loose ends to tighten.

0. in regards to your comment about the time frame issue. I relised that I forgot to add that additional four years after he woke up from (from apocalypse to now) so that has been fixed.

1. Powers - In order to reduce it's range I removed his ability to directly create weather patterns minutes rain (see power as to why and how). He wont be making snow or a tornado anytime soon.

I also remove his alteration of the earth and terrain so there will be no lava pits/volcanoes going on either.

I also removed his environmental project because there were to many variable to manipulate for that ability. This includes manipulating pressure and what not so that was removed to.

Weaknesses I kept most of them for the most part but reworded it due to certain weaknesses no longer applying such as limitations of the bubble field which was removed since he cannot do that any long.

I added how he can obtain certain elements for his ability to work so it's not like hes poofing anything from thin air. This also ties in with his revamped hibernation ability.

2. Personality - I fixed up personality to add in more detail as to why he is the way he is and how it ties with his beliefs with the brotherhood.

3. History - Because of the ability revamp I altered his history to be a bit less drastic and more grounded. There are a couple peak points but nothing to heavy I believe. I also added a lot more character interactions with specific plots in the board story line though some of them I had a little trouble integrating my character into it but I feel its more of an improvement over the past profiles involvement.

4. Sample - Changed the sample post to how he would act during a covert mission. Of course this post isn't going to be cannon to the character. It just how he would act in that situation. Yes, he does get hung over by technology hehe.

If you need me to fix anything please let me know and I will fix it as soon as possible. Oh on that note I have this big exam on Friday so I may or may not be able to edit it thoroughly till Saturday but I will be around to check on the profile statues and brainstorm any changes if needed so I can just type it up Saturday. Normally I can rp when exam time comes around but it's kinda a different story for profiles since I have to sit down for longer then normal hours to edit and stuff.

Thank you!
