![]() TECHNOPATH ABOUT When you cut Alex down to the barest facts, he's a small-town boy, from a trailer-park, whose mother was a waitress at a high-way diner, who never knew his father and barely made it out of high-school. He's not particularly smart nor talented. Except when it comes to his one true passion; cars. A passion which stems from the only figure in his then-life he could count as a fatherly one, his "uncle" who was a mechanic. It's not exactly known when his power manifested, as he has been around cars his whole life and always had a knack for it, but he became aware of them on the night his uncle died in a robbery gone wrong. Alex moved to New York thinking he would be able to hide his powers in the sea of mutants who live there. Although he has yet to have a specific reason for it, he is terrified of being "found" by the government (or Shield). Being a spectator all things doomy and mutanty has left him with a sort of anti-hero complex, as he as far as possible wants to be left out of mutant business. Even though he is a mutant, he doesn't believe that any of the fights are his to fight. However, that doesn't mean he won't help if he can, without being directly involved. But he's nobody's soldier and does not think that being born a certain way obligates him to risk his life. When he first came to NYC he had trouble finding a job, barely having a GED and having no certificate of his mechanical training, no one would hire him. So he wound up running with a gang called The Dirt Roses, who then turned out to be raving anti-mutant bikers leaving Alex with no choice but to leave. He wasn't without work for long though. A gang called The Purple Skulls soon heard of his prowess as a car thief for TDR and recruited him in, at first they were all 'come in, have a beer, maybe steal a car' but the free cake soon turned into ash in Alex's mouth when recruiter and right-hand woman, Dana, found out he was a mutant car stealing thug. Having already collected a very convincing pile of evidence of his thieving ways, she threatened to out him to Shield as a mutant-criminal, if he didn't start "working" for them full time. And for awhile there, it looked like he was going to be a high-end car thief for the rest of his days (or until someone caught him and put him away), but then two dark shadows with powers of their own came along his windy path. While being a bit disappointed that he wasn't a fully capable technopath, they still hired him to chauffeur for a little club named The Hellfire Club. Or, at least a part of it. He drives cars, flies choppers, airplanes and pilots the airship. He's made some friends along the way as well, Thebe from Mutant Town, Ariel - a scientist and became a part of the Thieves Guild with Ananasi, Stacy amongst others and of course, Gambit as the leader.
