He smiled and nodded along happily. "I'll make sure to." He answered and gathered his coat, and a pair of gloves, which is for now all he really needed. He followed Evvy out the doors and away. "I doubt anyone is really bothering to hang about today, weather and all." Artyom answered in agreement.

He looked about, the area was wide enough, and had enough snow to cushion any unfortunate landings. "It will do just fine Evvy." He said with a nod. Artyom settled his feet in the snow. Evvy was right, the cold did not bother him very much at all. He'd lived in some of the coldest places on Earth in his travels, and even visited Siberia during his stay in Russia. Even if it was for a short time, he was familiar to this weather. And even the cutting wind didn't bother him, his powers oft gave him no choice in weathering it, flying through the air often faster than a jet fighter.

"When you last saw me, Evvy, I couldn't jump more than several hundred feet... but now I can jump so much farther." He said with a nod. He stepped several feet away from her, enough to give ample room between them. "Let me show you.." He said with a smile. He knelt for moment in the snow, crouching and building up the potential energy within. And then, almost like a gunshot, he took off, a loud, powerful booming sound echoed, the distance between them was exactly for this reason. The snow exploded beneath him and Vault shot upward at a blistering pace. Vault himself was exhilarated yet again as he hurdled into the heavens.

It was almost a half mile now, even more than that before he reached the apex and let out an elegant flourish before falling back to Earth. The slow acceleration compared to the rapid climb was just as satisfying as gravity regained it's dominion over him. He came landing back down hard, landing with a loud crunch in the snow and another wisp of air and snow. He stood slowly and looked rather happily at Evvy. He held his arms out and did a little 'tada' face. "See? Much higher!"

Evvy was glad that she'd dressed warmly for the trip between the mansion and the Indie apartments, she hadn't planned to stay out any longer than it took to run along the path. She enjoyed being out in the weather, though. Just because she knew that she could easily go inside for hot cocoa once it got too icy for her.

After they agreed on the area, Artyom reminded her his previous limits before explaining that he could go much further now. She nodded, and took another step back after he made room for her. It made no difference. The snow flew up into the air around her, and yet again she felt like she was inside a snow globe.

The powdery snow fell to the ground around her, however, and Vault was still rising higher in the sky at high speed. He became a distant shape and for a moment Briar could see him slow and stop before gravity reclaimed its hold on him and he began to plummet to the earth.

She grinned when he landed and faced her, clapping her mittens together.

"You weren't kidding!" Ev laughed. She was well and truly covered in powdery snow from head to toe but she didn't mind. "Pretty good landing too, I don't know how you manage that in the snow."

He smiled widely. "It's gotten easier since Dontae assisted me with my abilities. I was putting potholes in the lawn again before he showed up to help me. Now I can manage take off and landing without damaging the turf, or ruining nearby windows." He said with a smile. "I can even kick harder than I used to. And my legs haven't felt better."

It was true, they hadn't. Twice in recent years they had been seriously wounded, and more times than he can count he'd suffered some kind of minor injury during apocalypse usually relating to them. He could often still feel the pain he felt the day that large multi story building had nearly crushed him and ended his life for good. The fleeting seconds came crashing back into him as he recalled the injuries of that fateful day. Only the injury he received at the school during the ShadowX incident could match it. But that one was more or less deserved than the other. The other was a badge of survival, and one he didn't often try to forget now, it had become a lesson. That not every problem will be solved by running. Sooner or later it'd catch up to you.

He nodded to Evvy. "I know there isn't much in the way of plantlife, at present.. I could clear a space but the ground is still frozen solid. I'd love to see how far you've come, despite it all." He said with a curious smile.

"If you really wanna see what I can do, we should have a DR session," she said with a half smile, looking around too see what she had to work with. She didn't want to really screw with the dormant plants too much in the winter, the energy they had stored had to keep them alive and healthy til spring.

Quantifying her abilities and how they've grown was difficult when it wasn't involving combat. Some of it was just new ideas and creativeness. Others pertained to how far she could reach, how many plants at a time... how much she could do and how long she could keep it up. Endurance. But showing off was fun.

Instead of messing with something and ruining its chances of survival, she decided to create something new. Even if it didn't make it, it wouldn't have been otherwise. She played around with this when she was young but it was often little changes. The shape and colors of the tiny flowers hidden in the grass.

There were dormant seeds in the earth below. Some would remain that way without some kind of catalyst. In this case, a nudge of energy. There was no visible changes for a moment, until the snow above it was dislodged as a small tree sprouted like a rabbit breaking free, shaking snow from its branches reaching for the pale sunlight.

It was an apple tree. It wasn't meant to be active in winter like this. Its leaves thickened and became more narrow, gaining an oily sheen as Evvy made minute adjustments. Another thought occurred to her, and she changed another thing. Any apples it created would be seedless... one tree was one thing, but letting it propagate would be irresponsible. She understood the plant biology and she understood her powers, but she didn't quite understand the how or why of the changes she instigated. She wanted it to be so, and she willed it to be so, and it was. The technical details happened whether she understood it or not.

Thick, short and spiny, it looked very unlike what had initially broke free from the frozen earth. Two small, dark red orbs hung from its branches, hanging just low enough that Evvy could reach out and pick one. She did so, and took a bite. "Hah. Cinnamon. I was thinking about that..."

Artyom smiled. "Oh, of course. I would love greatly to test myself in a situation." He answered back kindly. In Truth, Artyom hadn't ever really been to the DR before. He'd left before he could ever truly test himself and frankly it shaped his opinion that it couldn't possibly beat the exhilaration of real air rushing by his face but he's been proven wrong before. He'd need all the skill and practice he could manage for the future, and he'd want nothing more than to practice with his close friend.

He watched as she focused herself, and from the ground rose a magnificent apple tree. He marveled at her creation as it took shape, slowly growing and changing in front of his very eyes, each change minute but enough to be noticeable. A level of control he'd know she was working hard to achieve in the past, and something she had clearly accomplished and yet was working ever harder to improve like himself. He mouthed words of amazement and even said some in his native tongue with a boyish glee that would make him seem a bit boyish in nature but he didn't care. In these older days he'd had little time to show that he could be happy and joyous, rather than closed and withdrawn from everything. Thus, this served to be the moment.

"Evvy dorgaya!, well done!" He applauded happily for the girl. He too, reached out, hopping just enough to pluck the second. He took a bite shortly after, his mouth shocked by the rapid sensation of cinnamon and apple. If he wasn't a fan of Evvy's botany before, he certainly was now. "Oh,, aaah! Evvy. This is great. You've grown well, and there's no seeds! No seeds... Oh interesting. Very interesting." He said with a smile and some wonderment.

"It's truly something, I wish.. oh i wish i could have been there to see you try at this.. what a process." He felt a tinge of regret in his voice escape him. Yeah, as happy as he could be now. He'd felt still the guilt.

The apple was quickly finished and she was admittedly pleased with the praise. She knew that she had improved since they'd last met but that was no wonder. She had still been pretty young back then. She hadn't had to test her ability. She hadn't had to survive on her skill alone back then.

"Oh I don't know. Staying in the mountains might not have been as fun for you as it was for me," she replied easily, noting the regret in his voice and not making a fuss over it this time. She had her own regrets in life and she doubted any of her friends would easily change her mind about them either.

"I mean I had trained somewhat before leaving myself, but most of what I do. Its relatively new," she admitted. Most of what she did was the result of the past few years. After the Apocalpyse she had rarely used her powers... by the time she'd gone off on her own again, she'd gotten rusty, had to relearn her little tricks.

The things she did back in the day had been whimsical. Now... much of it related to survival, whether it was for sustenance or combat. She still loved what she did, and there was still some whimsy, but she rarely did something just for fun. Or without considering the consequences. Not necessarily a bad thing. Her use of her powers mirrored her attitudes in life.
