POWERS
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Advanced Metabolism:
Will is able to live off less than the typical human. Where a normal human can live for three to five days without water, Will can live for two to three weeks without it. Where normal humans can go for weeks without food, Will can go for months without it. He is able to extract the absolute maximum amount of nutrients out of everything he consumes. In addition to this, he can also consume certain plant life or animals that would normally be considered inedible or slightly poisonous. He can’t consume anything that would instantly kill a human, but most things such as odd fungi or frogs that can render a human ill have no effect on him. All the nutrients he extracts are put straight to work in his body, especially his vital organs and muscle, which allows him to build up muscle mass twice as fast as a normal human.

Advanced Endurance, Agility, and Adaptability:
His lungs allow him to intake much more oxygen, allowing him to function normally at altitudes of up to 23,000 feet without an oxygen tank (Where a normal human would be able to survive at all above 26,000). They adapt to the air around him, and can filter out some gases that would normally be toxic in large quantities (such as Carbon Dioxide, etc.). He can hold his breath twice as long as the average human. His heart is able to pump harder and faster, allowing him to run for 5 times as long as the typical fit human male, or other forms of work that would be much harder to others. His mind (though only as intellectually intelligent as the next guy) in combination with his body, is able to react quicker to external events, allowing himself to be more agile, or react quicker when caught off-guard.
His body is able to take harsher weather conditions than the average human. Situations where a normal human would be sweating a bit and sunburned would see him unscathed. Where normal humans would have to add on an extra layer of long-sleeve clothing he would be perfectly fine shirtless, albeit a bit chilly. He can last at least two and a half weeks without sleep where a normal human would last only 11 days. He is able to take (theoretically, it has never been tested) twice the amount of radiation as a normal human. Even his bones have become stronger and sturdier, allowing him to jump from a 2-3 story building without breaking anything (albeit, still the possibility of spraining or twisting something).

Accelerated Healing:
Will is able to heal most wounds two to three times as fast as a normal human. Nothing drastic, and definitely not so spectacular to be called a healing factor, enough to be on a different level than homo sapiens. A cut that would take a day to heal might take three hours. A broken bone that would normally require three weeks, would only require one.

WEAKNESS:
An important thing to take note is that none of these are “superhuman”, only slightly above the average. He can’t smash walls, he can’t heal a stab wound in seconds, and he can’t breathe or consume anything he wants. A gunshot will still kill him the same as any other human. He can still die from a neck-breaking fall. He can still drown, burn, bleed out, or suffocate to death. These powers are just extensions of how much he can take, not certainties against anything. On top of this, his only offensive capability is close combat, which he really doesn’t have much proficiency in at all (which is why he has the weapons)

His powers have some downsides as well. It’s not that he CAN live as a “Survivor”, his powers demand that he must. Eating more than one large meal every two days makes him puke. His sleeping pattern is always amuck, and he HAS to take sleeping pills to even just get 6 hours of normal sleep at night. He HAS to work out and keep his muscle mass constantly, or else he looses it all. Worse, if he goes for more than three days without an intense work out session, his body quickly gains fat. His powers don’t allow him to do more than the average human, they make him do more.

PERSONALITY
The first thing you are sure to know about Will is his constant readiness. To an outsider it would look like an unusual form of ADHD, when in actuality it is the exact opposite. Where someone with ADHD is constantly losing focus, Will focuses on everything all at once. His eyes constantly bounce around the room, his muscles tense up involuntarily every now and then, he is prone to flinch/pounce/dodge at a moment’s notice, and he is in CONSTANT need to move some body part at a time (rapidly tapping his foot, or bouncing his leg up and down, etc). Next, when you speak to him, you’ll notice he always skips a beat before talking. He always thinks before he speaks, gauging where the conversation’s going, if he should laugh or not, etc. This doesn’t mean he’s introverted or anything, in fact he’s quite outgoing, however he tries to be as socially aware as possible. It doesn’t help that he has a degree in psychology as well. Anyways, despite all the safeguards in his genes trying to help him survive, he can’t do much of them justice. He is just as smart as the average Joe when it comes to social experiences (even with his over-analysis), and he’s actually quite clumsy, which his body does nothing to help.

Will has very staunch social views but often hides them with neutrality to avoid argument. He is very proud of his mutant heritage and views most humans (except those he’s related to) as horribly racist and weak. He’s an Anarchist as well, and though he is not extremely proactive in showing this view he does often wrinkles his nose when dealing with governments and some authority figures. Raised and taught by the X-Men, Will always does his best to take criminals alive, but secretly has no problem with murder. It has never come to that, but Will has seen enough violence to believe that some people deserve to die. One could gather as much by the level of violence he inflicts on his enemies before he takes them in. He hasn’t shared this view with many people. However, he hides these stances and attempts to hold a neutral stance when dealing with multiple parties, for the sake of working with X-Factor.

All things considered he’s generally well liked. He’s known to have an excellent sense of humor, even though he’s many times been the butt of jokes. He holds himself in a polite and respectful manner, and is always humble among peers. He has a creative imagination and generally enjoys entertaining people. He always searches for ways to excite other people, or excite himself. One can certainly be certain, whether you are his friend or enemy, that there are not many dull moments with Will.
HISTORY: PRE-APOCALYPSE
Will was born to Eamon and Chelsea Morrigan. Eamon was born to a large clan of Irish-Americans who had lived in Boston for a couple generations. He had a mutation that allowed him to keep any information he learned in a photographic like memory, and be able to subtly take advantage of this by become an astoundingly successful philosophy and psychiatry professor at a young age. Chelsea came from a relatively small but fiercely patriotic family in Glasgow, Scotland. She unfortunately had a very visible mutation. Her skin was ghostly (almost translucently) pale, her hair was black and tentacle-like in nature, her eyes were jet-black (the pupil covering the entire surface area) and small vestigial bat-like wings protruded from her shoulder blades. Though she was accepted by her family, she feared that if she remained any longer in her home town her appearance would end up causing some sort of problem. So she took a plane to America, the most convenient flight at the time being on to Boston. There, she met Eamon, who took her in with his family and cared for her. Eventually the pair fell in loveand were married, and soon they had a son.

William Morrigan was born September 18, 1987, in a Boston hospital. Two years later, his sister Blair (another mutant) would be born, and three years after that in a different city, his sister Ansley would be born (also a mutant). Will had a rather normal early childhood for a short time. His parents were both loving and caring and his father was very successful in his career. So successful, that he was offered a position to teach at a college in New York, where they moved when Will was 4. They bought a small apartment in Brooklyn, and frequently communicated with Abigail Drummond (a sister of Eamon’s) and her husband, who were both mutant rights activists. The family also managed to establish connections with some early mutant circles in New York, as Chelsea’s appearance would make it hard for her to go out in public. It would be not long after Will’s 6th birthday that Eamon’s health started to deteriorate, causing him to collapse and be taken to an emergency room. It had turned out that Eamon was suffering from a large brain tumor that went unnoticed until then. Some months later, Eamon died. Chelsea moved herself and her children in with the Drummonds, and when the time came for the children to go to school, the Drummonds acted as surrogate parents for all education-related needs.

It would be the day of a family camping trip that Will finally found his powers. Whilst hiking and exploring, Will tripped and fell down a steep hill into a creek in a ravine. Obscured from sight, it took the family hours to get to the bottom, but no trace of Will was found. Teaming up with park rangers, they continued to look for him for days until they had almost given up hope. Finally, on the seventh day Will arrived back at their campsite, unharmed. He was a bit dirty and his clothes seemed relatively torn and bloody but there were no cuts on him or bruises. The family passed it off as a miracle and went on with their lives, but from that point onward Will was not the same. His physical condition was constantly improving, and he seemed to be doing much better in athletics, but he soon physically COULDN’T eat meals, he couldn’t sleep, and his general health pattern seemed to go completely out of balance. Chelsea finally took him to a doctor, one she knew she could trust with her appearance and the possibility her son was a mutant; a fact that was confirmed by that doctor. For a couple of years Will had to keep his powers hidden, as did his sisters when they got them, until news came of a school for “gifted children” opening up in New York. In 2000, Will started school at the Xavier Institute.

Will was extremely successful in school, and graduated with flying colors in 2006. While he was there, he learned his mother had moved in with a group in the sewers called “the Morlocks”, and that his sisters visited her but mostly stayed on the surface. He attended college and studied for a Bachelor’s in Psychiatry and an Integrated Master’s Degree in Psychology at Yale. Over the years he became aware of world events as well, of course. He wanted to return to school to help out, but felt the need to study that he might eventually have a relatively normal life. That priority changed March of his junior year, when the beginnings of the apocalypse started.
DURING APOCALYPSE (April 7th through April 12th, 2009)

When the Horsemen finally did arrive, Will chose to remain at Yale, and attempt to wait it out. He ended up grouping with a whole bunch of other mutants in Connecticut who chose not to fight, and instead wait it out at the Yale campus. Though some violence came to their doorstep, their lives were not overly damaged, as most did not have large families or homes to go home to in this time of peril…except for Will. Will felt called into action though and vowed to find some way to help speed on the recovery of the world from this apocalypse. He was soon told that his mother died in the disaster at New York, but this only strengthened his resolve. He finished his junior year, and returned to New York City and his family, for the summer, in order to come up with a plan for the future.
POST-APOCALYPSE
Will returned to school for senior year. He continued to keep up to date with the X-Men, X-Factor, and other events and tried to find a way to step in, but felt he wasn’t going to be much help. It proved he didn’t have a choice in the matter when it came down to it. Soon dimensions began to flicker into one another. Begging to help, Will was finally taken along by the X-Men for the final attack on Onslaught. Will found himself staring at an alternate version of himself: a Wildman, who lived off the land and did anything to survive. He fought tooth and nail, with nothing but his bare fists, but he made it. Soon everything was restored, and Will returned to school. He would go on to graduate with his Bachelor’s, but return a year later for his Integrated Master’s.

PURIFIERS
As his final school year comes to a close, a 23 year old Will finds a group of Anti-Mutant protestors having rallies of increasing size as the days go on. The night after his graduation, the same group storms the dorms, looking for mutants. Will managed to escape, fleeing to New York. There he bunkered down with the Drummonds, as well as two cousins from extended family who were also mutants. From there he sought out ways to contact and help out X-Factor, as the Purifier threat begins to increase. He felt guilty for not assisting the X-Men, and since X-Factor had gotten a reputation as a team of mutants looking for redemption, he found it the most viable option. Will found himself unexpectedly caught in Mutant Town during The Night of Broken Glass. He attempted to help as many people as he could, and tried to fight off those who took advantage of the chaos, but the night continued to deny day to break. In the end, he came out with a broken arm, a few cracked ribs, a gash in his thigh and a couple burn marks. He wasn’t even sure who brought him to the hospital…it could’ve been X-Factor for all he knew. All wounds healed over time but he still felt unfit for duty. He felt weak, and so began training, intensely exercising and teaching himself close combat. He constantly searched for opportunities to prove himself to X-Factor.

It was some time later, when Will heard of the explosion at Xavier’s school. Panicking, he left as quickly as he could, only to arrive to a devastating scene of horror. He had arrived one or two hours after the attack but work was still going on. Not even stopping to greet former teachers or friends, Will went straight to work uncovering survivors from the wreck, and performing first aid on those he found before helping further. He stayed long enough to see the students and staff leave the school, but then returned to New York to continue training. When the Sentinels arrived, he took to the streets of Mutant Town, rescuing and sheltering those Mutants whose abilities were not useful combatively, and occasionally fighting the giant robots. For this, Will was accepted into X-Factor, and he joined them after the conflict was over in the Old City.
SKRULLS
Will continued working in X-Factor throughout the growing Skrull menace, oblivious to it as it happened. That is, until Skrull began filling the skies. Will fought alongside the rest of X-Factor against the invaders for days, until eventually, he didn’t care anymore. He became complacent, at least until The Hellfire Club comes to the rescue, allowing him to get back into the fight. Eventually the Skrull and Brood threats were neutralized, and life returned to…relatively normal.

CURRENT HISTORY
Will found himself caught unawares when the first Illuminati attack happened. He was injured in the fight, but recovered quickly, and found himself trying to help others recover from the attack. His aunt, Abigail Drummond, dies in the second when a person effected by one of the bombs attacks her. A month or two later, The Illuminati’s video is published, and Will took shelter with the rest of X-Factor, but not before ensuring his family up above was safe.

Will’s work became even more tiresome as the Illuminati crisis went on. The world was falling into shambles. After many fights, and events featuring the Dark X-Men, he eventually heard of the attack on the school. Unfortunately, he was a bit late, but “absolute doom” was averted and eventually the Dark X-Men thing passed. He didn’t rest for long however, as it wasn’t long before a whole bunch of volcanoes erupted and he joined X-Factor to help out. Then of course the world plunged into darkness, and the Illuminati reign supreme. He continued to work with X-Factor, yet again, to save the world. As the Phoenix was ripped from the hands of the Illuminati, things got quieter. Will reached out to his family, and after cementing bonds returned back to the X-Factor. Normality has returned.

SAMPLE RP POST:

Morning, Just as the Sun is Rising
July 12th, 2011
Basement of the Drummond Residence, Bay Ridge, Brooklyn

“Two-Hundred ninety-three…Two-Hundred ninety-four…” Will muttered his breath as his arms pumped up and down, raising and lowering his torso.

The room was musty and old. All the walls and the floor were solid concrete, and old antiques from years past littered the ground: old baby toys, broken suitcases, busted fridges, you name it. The once cold air around him was now warm from the heat coming off Will’s body. The stench of sweat filled the air. His shirt, a tattered rag with cut off sleeves from his freshman year at college, laid a couple feet from his head. His sweatpants were equally in bad shape. I really need new clothes he thought to himself as he finished “Two-Hundred ninety-nine…Three Hundred…” He collapsed on the floor, taking in steady deep breaths, and closed his eyes momentarily.

His body was tired, and his muscles ached from work, but his eyes refused to fall victim to the clutches of sleep. The sound of footsteps from upstairs could be heard, followed by the magnificent smell of his Uncle’s homemade bacon being cooked. He had missed this place.

Will’s mind ventured to the events of the past couple months. He was resolved to join X-Factor, no matter what. He had been training, exercising more than usual, and just in general waiting. A lot. It seemed no matter what he did he always just missed the important things. Not anymore. He decided to travel up to Mutant town the next day, perhaps even scope it out that night. Either way, he needed an opportunity to prove himself. He smiled as he heard the familiar sound of his aunt’s thick Irish accent call him to breakfast. Will rose to his feet, and moved towards the door to the stairwell. Tomorrow would be a good day.

Hello, Madman! If that's a reference to the Mike Allred book, I'm pretty sure we're already friends.

Anyhow, thanks for taking the time to apply! I'm ALMOST ready to just stamp this, but I think, given how well done the rest of this app is, your characters personality could use a bit of fleshing out. You have him being likeable and socially awkward, but what about his views? How does he feel about the culture war between humans and mutants? How does he personally feel about being a mutant? Capacity for villainy? Jokester? You say he's likeable but what is it that makes him likeable? Just a little fleshing out really.

Aside from that, I reaallllly enjoy this. We rarely get mutants as children of mutants, which was a fun change, and his powers are low-key but still manage to be interesting. Good on you!

So yeah, just expand the personality a bit and we'll get you up and playing!

Hey! Sorry I didn't get back sooner I was on vacation.

Just giving a heads up that I'm coming back to school with some heavy work. Should be nothing I can't handle, but the revisions probably won't be done till late tomorrow night or the night after that. Thanks :)

I'm sorry this has sat idle, it's never our intention to let this happen but just sadly sometimes it does.

Please post in the list updater to give us your info and if you need help starting on threading, talk to staff and we'll see what we can do.
